there are only 2-3 quality teams in la liga. the others are pants. messi/ronaldo score more than 80% of their goals against shyte teams.

dayokanu: Rooney says Hi
rooney had a clear view of the target. berba didn't even see the goal. the mental image was in his head. he faced united's goal as he brought the ball down & he still found the target with virtually no back lift at all. how did berba generate the power to whip that into the net?

BY SCORING 38% OF HIS GOALS IN ONLY 2 GAMES!! Against wich teams?? BLACKBURN AND BIRMINGHAM!! Where?? AT OLDTRAFFORD!! grin grin
messi, ronaldo, RVP have scored more than 80% of their total goals against bottom sides. fact remains when rooney was acting the fool, berbatov became a one-man terror and destroyed every opponent placed before him.

look at the tekkers.
rooney did everything to distract berba by jumping like a monkey - but trust berba to calm the situation & produce a technique yet to be seen in the deeper sanctum of old trafford....

Ibime: Which match did Lukaku play this season

If Jose has African sense, he must know Eto got VAT onhis age and cannot give him the same performance at Intermilan, so keep Lukaku around
comparing torres to lukaku is like comparing mourinho to moyes at top level. torres has the reputation to justify his starts, lukaku had nothing. he's a rookie, torres cost £50m. jose could get the sack for leaving a £50m asset on the bench.

except that he took 2 penalties for us in 11/12 season and scored with aplomb. he took penalties for fulham last season too & scored every one of them. surely, SAF & martin jol are insane, aren't they?

if he is at chelsea, he will not play like he's doing at goodison. this has been highlighted for years now. ba was scoring freely at newcastle but he's pants at chelsea. same as torres, sturridge, etc.

if falcao moves to chelsea, he would be lucky to score 12 league goals by may.

This season is really gonna be unpredictable. With arsenal at d top and we all know how they capitulate at the crucial month will give other teams hope, Mourinho and chelsea seem not to have found their feet but still maintaining a reasonable level on the table, spurs looking like they will make top 4, suarez and sturridge proving to be a deadly combo etc.

i am sure he scored 21 league goals that season in 11 different games out of 24 starts. if he was a penalty/freekick taker, you know he would have scored in another 3-5 games. making it scoring in 16 different games in 24 starts.

neville is just saying moyes is here to stay. there's bobby charlton & sir alex in that boardroom & they would give moyes the full backing unless he resigns himself. in a nutshell, some players would leave before moyes does.....moyes is here for 6 years...

chamotex: This is not even an argument...whether they played the big guns or not...the game was irrelevant. A totally meaningless game which was my point initially.
however, the point still stands - some certain teams are not the same in the absence of some key players.

chamotex: We can turn it around but how quickly? With the way things are going it doesn't seem like it would be any time soon.
he needs to replicate the performance we showed against swansea in the next 4-5 games. we have to beat arsenal now to stay close to the teams in the pole position.

Especially with the comments he has made over the past few weeks. During the summer, he claimed he was happy with his squad...8 weeks later, they are not good enough. That is a sack-able offence for me.
moyes talks an awful too much....
he should let his assistant do some of the talking for him. i can win the league with this squad. moyes must go back to the basics by choosing the right players. once we rediscover the winning ways then he can start tweaking bit by bit...

I agree Fergie is partly to blame.
Fergie actually over-achieved with this squad lets be honest. His man management and the ability to motivate his players were key factors. Moyes doesn't seem to possess any of these...at least not with this gibberish we are witnessing.
fergie left the squad with a big void in the midfield. moyes must have known about united's midfield - it's an open secret. why didn't he do something during the window to plug the gap?

the second offence is the fact that fergie handpicked moyes when there are more competent managers out there. only jose can fill fergie's shoes. at least, get him to stay 3 years while giggs, neville, scholes rush through their coaching career and then take over by 2016/17.

Plain stupidity to continue playing Rio like he was 25. Especially when everyone and their dog knows he's had back issues and has been managed and wrapped in cotton wool.
His decisionmaking has been suspect ever since day one. That is why I am not backing him to deliver or giving him the benefit of doubt when he fails to beat big sides.
Because he will never come good if he can not identify and effectively pursue a decent transfer target without paying over the odds or if he continues saying the rubbish he is spewing.
He started his failures by axingthe backroom staff in favour of his parapo.
Phil Neville without a coaching badge or any kind of coaching experience is an assistant at Manchester United.
Things you wouldnt even hear about at Okomu Oil, let alone read about at.
There are so many reasons why the dude is no fit to carry training balls at carrington, let alone be in charge of United.

he can turn it around & we are lucky the main challengers are slumbering too. arsenal & spurs don't scare me. i only care about city & chelsea....and we are not too far from mourinho & pellegrini.

that being said, i think united would stick with moyes for at least a season. if he doesn't make the top four then the glazers would have him sacked. our business model relies on the awoof money the champions league gives us.

i am at crossroads here. moyes either wins it outrightly & keep his job or finish lower than 3rd & get sacked. what i wouldn't want is for him to finish 2nd or 3rd and give us a false hope that he's competent.

i think SAF must take some blame here too...

an irrelevant game wouldn't have city's big guns on the pitch at the same time trying to save face.

A few days ago it was the easy fixtures of those ahead of you, now it's supposedly something else.
the tough fixtures contributed to the horrible results in the first 5 games. SAF wouldn't have done better in those games. however, losing to west brom at home is another matter entirely.

debosky: Did you think RVP would continue without injuries indefinitely? That's what I call blind optimism.
if he is going to be injured, it shouldn't be muscular injuries while on a treadmill. that is a poor training regime.

Moyes is a learner at this level - he has more players than he has ever had and is struggling to understand how best to combine them. He's also struggling with learning how to plan for multiple competitions while turning out teams able to do the job on the day.
at 50 years of age?
what a sensible learner should have done is to study fergie's blueprints extensively. look at the pattern fergie used to select teams especially the old players(rio, vidic, giggs, evra, etc)

That's what killed him on Saturday - the team was neither here nor there, probably because he was thinking about the next CL game. By the time WB struck, the team just couldn't respond.
he named a poor team, a daft bench and equally idiotic substitutions.

Talking down your squad is quite foolish though. . . .the same squad you claimed you were happy to go into the season with (even with no additions)??
fergie should take some of the blame too. he continuously lied he wouldn't be part of the recruitment process when he retires. if moyes wasn't a fellow scot, he wouldn't have been chosen by fergie. this is nepotism at it's best.

Someone should take the microphone away from this guy before he talks himself out of a job.
with fergie's backing, there's no chance....

why did he give rooney the captain's armband after rooney's flirtatious antics with chelsea? the rooney love-in is a massive disgrace. his pre/post match interviews have been terrible.

he actually told the media his players are not good enough to win in europe - and yet he's the same slow coach that messed up during the transfer window.

StarBoard: I'm wondering if Moyes isn't stage-msnaging this collapse in order to bring inhis ttype of players. The burlesque, tractor-driving type.

The sooner he is gotten rid of, the better for us. He has no business at the helm of arguably the worlds biggest sports franchise.
he's gotten all the big decisions wrongly. sacking SAF's entire backroom staff was one of those big decisions. rene meulesteen & eric steele are wonderful trainers with a wealth of experience. moyes replaced them with quacks from everton.

the 2nd concern for me is his atrocious training regime that has given van persie 2 muscular injuries. van persie had gone injury-free for 2.5 years until moyes' military-grade training.

the 3rd concern is rio. moyes kept playing rio at 35 in every game - this was the same rio that refused a national call-up because of his specialised training methods that made rio the best defender only last season.

kagawa offers more than rooney, never mind van persie. we lost against west brom because once again, rooney couldn't sort his head after west brom's 2nd goal.

unfortunately, your memory isn't serving you right as berbatov was subbed in the 75th minute of the game for owen. evra & giggs missed our penalty kicks, carrick scored his.

berbatov was on the bench when this happened. i reiterate, berba only missed one penalty for us in a red shirt. he scored 2 in the league in 2011/12. therefore, the argument that he cannot score from the penalty spot is grossly flawed.

A clueless dimwit impersonating united manager struggles to find the right balance with a set of players that picnicked their way to the premier league title.
Now he's saying we don't have quality players anymore. Always with a reasy-made excuse except that this one is potentially damaging.
I wonder how these players will in turn want to play for someone who effectively doesn't believe in them or their abilities.
i already said i would judge moyes in the games we usually win. there's no excuse at all for losing at home against west brom. we always win games like that.

dademola: @cooger. Hw can smeone say berba's pks against everton and chelsea were attempted panekas or woteva? U talk abt fulham. Who cares about wot he does b4 and after he left united. Upload both pks here, and let pple judge
which penalty against chelsea?
berbatov only missed one penalty in a red shirt & it was an attempted paneka. he actually beat tim howard but howard's legs saved everton.

people should stop propagating myths that berba is a flat-track bully. he scored goals that were getting us 3 points & the circumstances surrounding those games were tougher than most clashes against top 4 sides.

the manchester derby was easier to win for city than cardiff & aston villa. had dzeko scored a hatrick against cardiff & villa, you guys would be saying he's a flat track bully but realistically, scoring in those games for city was far more difficult than scoring against united.

there's logic & there's common sense - football fans should embrace both when arguing. berbatov's goals especially in the comeback against blackpool(when SAF opined charlie adam's corner was worth £15m each) was more difficult to score than any of the goals united scored in the 8-2 win against arsenal(a top four side).

chamotex: Exactly, which still proves the players that came in were not good enough.
Saturday was not a 'difficult away game'.
do you think jones/buttner are good enough to wear down a very organised west brom side? it's like shooting one's foot. evra/rafael/fabio weren't injured - why should a manager refuse to play his strongest team in a must-win game??

I don't care if we played Rio at right back...that team that played on Saturday should not LOSE to West Brom at forking Old Trafford. If we played that game two more times I doubt the result will be different.
if messi, xavi, iniesta and neymar play in the defence for barcelona, they would lose against warri wolves. a team needs to be balanced.

These players do not look motivated to me and it was so evident by the display.
they are motivated - getting the selection right is the issue here. moyes' bench was horrible and his use of subs on saturday was very awful.

Why do we have a squad..
If these players cannot come in and do a decent job against a team like West brom then why do we have them at a club like Manchester United
it's not about having a squad, it's about knowing which partnership that gives you the best productivity in all the departments of the team. fergie would often play scholes/carrick or anderson/hargreaves(difficult away games). there's a reason he does that.

So if Rafael doesn't play or gets injured we should forget about winning? Or if Evra is out of the team we should forfeit the match?

I am pissed off
you should not forfeit the match but you must play what would give the team a balance in the absence of rafael/evra. if rafael isn't playing, fabio should get an automatic start.

none of smalling, jones and valencia is a good fullback. this was why i cursed moyes after I saw the line-up. the key is to have 2 good crossers of the ball when attacking.

imagine nani attacking with rafael making a decoy run against a fullback. that scenario already tells you there's fire on the mountain cos whoever ends up crossing the ball between nani & rafael can cause serious damage.

however, if i were a defender and i am being overloaded with nani & jones, my task is simpler. all i need to do is to force nani to always use jones as a decoy. i already know jones cannot cross to save a life.

berbatov scored a hatrick against liverpool in september, liverpool finished 6th about 8 months later. actually, berbatov's hatrick was the reason liverpool came 6th.

so if chicharito had scored a hatrick against city last week & city end up finishing 10th in the league next year, you would turn around & say chicha scored against a team that finished 10th?

a bit of perspective would help...

so are u saying he has scored grand total of 8 goals against a top 4 team in the last 7 years? an average of just over 1 goal a year?
NOW if that isnt a flat track bully then what is?
it depends on two things....
how many minutes has he played against a top 4 side & how many setpieces was he allowed to take in those years? how can berba be a flat track bully? he scored against a very strong united side in 07/08.

P.S in the same period Wayne Rooney has 18 league goals against top 4 sides in the EPL alone.
he started against most of them, rooney has copped more minutes against top EPL sides than berbatov. rooney had played for 3 good seasons before berba joined the EPL. rooney has also taken more penalties against top sides than berba. for example, all the goals in rooney's hatrick against arsenal in 11/12 were setplays.

Berbatov is the epitome of the flat track bully
since 06/07, berbatov has scored 4 goals against everton & arsenal. 5 against chelsea, 3 against spurs & 5 against liverpool. fat track bully indeed.

in germany, his record was equally outstanding. 4 against dortmund, 3 goals against bayern munich, 4 against werder bremen. a bit of fact checking should be embraced instead of making blanket statements that are untrue.
