dademola: vidal too shud be underated, cos he plays in d shytie serie A, isnt it??good players can play in shyte leagues - that's not even my point. my point is playing against crappy opposition tends to put some gloss over average performances. if 15 of the teams in the english league are crystal palace quality, what do you think the stats of the players in the top team would look like? how can people not see cleverley's quality? https://therepublikofmancunia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/stats_mid1a.png stats show cleverley passes the ball forward more than the others bar carrick. https://therepublikofmancunia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/stats_mid2.png stats show cleverley wins most of his tackles than carrick & he fouls far less. in short, cleverley has the best disciplinary record in our squad. https://therepublikofmancunia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/stats_mid3.png stats show cleverley creates a chance quicker than carrick. only anderson & kagawa are better in this aspect & that is because the duo have played further up the pitch than cleverley has done.... |
dademola: pogba made 27 apps last season in d league, started 18, and scored 5 times!!against which opposition? you want to compare the team quality of serie A to the premier league? if muntari & kevin-prince boateng can light up the italian league, i am supremely confident bebe & djemba-djemba would do the same. serie A is currently shyte! |
chrisley024: Forget abt all these pple trying to undervalue d guy. How many of our midfielders are better than him?.until pogba plays his football in the premier league, you can only dream of what he could have been. we have seen super-talented players in the other leagues come to england & made to look like amateurs. |
elampiro: I don't understand which arguments you have suddenly jumped into now.you lie more than a demented parrot..... 1. I have never argued anything about Morrison since joining this thread. So why are you accusing me wrongly?you came to SAF's defence he was right to send the 2 rookies away as they were not ready when they left. 2. I have never said Cleverly and Anderson played beyond 5 matches. So what are you trying to say?that was exactly what you opined. you were implying cleverson started the season well & that was why pogba was left out of the blackburn game on new year's day. 3. It was you who lied about Garry Neville. You implied that Rafael couldn't have kicked a ball if Neville had not retired. Without looking far I gave you an instance.if that was how you understood my comment then you possess the IQ of a public louse. boldly written, i said rafael wouldn't be near the first team had neville not retired. so in your deluded world, not near the 1st team = not kicking a ball? smalling is not a first team member, do you know the number of minutes he's copped this season already? Then you mentioned rotation. I did not observe any rotation then. Rafael was already our right back, he too (Rafael) also had his injury time.you are hopelessly deluded. if neville did not retire, logic dictates rafael & neville would have shared the number of minutes rafael has had since neville's retirement. rafael is not better than fabio - how come fabio doesn't have a first team shirt @ united but rafael does? |
montelik: without getting sidetracked. if the choice was whom to come into uniteds midfield as it is presently constituted. I would take pogba well before fellaini. I would take cleverley before either fellaini or pogba. for his long legs and languid style, pogba often goes missing for long periods in games, his work rate is not high enough to partner Carrick. I have already stated my views on fellaini in midfield for united. cleverley isn't the best fit for Carrick and our midfield, but of the 3, he is my preferred option.cleverley is better than all of them bar carrick. he's a facilitator - good things happen when he plays & his defensive stats are criminally underrated here. |
superstar1: Have you forgotten Cleverly was injured throughout the greater part of last season and when he came back, he was not at its best which necessitated his sparing use.that was in 2011/12. fergie just stopped using cleverley & kept him on the bench as an unused substitute. cleverley & pogba started 18 league games each but pogba had more minutes than him overall. |
dademola: and cooger wld be d same person castigating d english press for overhyping dia mediocre and average players. Smhcleverley is not average - he's one of the best english midfielders out there. he possesses a unique skill that most english midfielders don't have - keeping the ball! |
montelik: abeg what is all this over hyping of pogba. because he shows flashes everynow and then, playing in a packed juventus midfield, where the likes of Vidal and marchioso e.t.c cover for his failings and pick up his slack.the circumstances that led to his departure from old trafford is the reason for the hyperbole. he's a good player but he's not taken it yet to the dizzying heights like pogba fanboys are claiming.... |
dademola: tom cleverley wld find it difficult to find a place on d juve bench!tom cleverley would start every game @ juventus. those italian clubs have all lost their spark. bebe would start at milan. |
this dailymail is such a nonsense news site. the nigerian was named & shamed. how come they didn't name the corrupt home office official? |
dademola: cleverley is better dan pogba??far better as of today....pogba might later catch up but a manager would have to be extremely stüpid to replace cleverley with pogba as of now. cleverley made the most tackles this premier league weekend - without the stats saying so, it's hard to believe and that's because he does his job quietly. |
dademola: pls hw is cleverly more accomplished dan pogba?because as of today, cleverley is the better player. as of today, cleverley has played in more high profile games for his club and his senior national team. that's accomplishment!! |
superstar1: I will pick pogba.tom cleverley is a more accomplished midfielder than pogba. why is cleverley so criminally underrated here? perhaps you people tend to undervalue midfielders who go about doing their tasks quietly without necessarily drawing attention to themselves. this is the comparison of cleverley vs fellaini last season. you can see the only aspect of the game fellaini is better is goalscoring & that is because he's often played behind the striker last season @ everton. https://cdn.eplindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/sid-MOYES-2.jpg |
gazilion: And how did Satelllite TV or Video machines create jobs or improved the live of the common man in Nigeria. I experienced poverty and never had to use satellite or video machines beside other reasons. However, the liberalization of the telecoms industry in Nigeria (which broke NITELS monopoly) created numerous employment opportunities for our graduates, gave them a social status and allowed struggling families to own mobile handsets.you are a stark illiterate.... there was no liberation of telecoms industry - we just experienced a technological age where the use of mobile phones was necessary. many west african countries were already using mobile phones which then means even a monkey in power would have created an enabling environment for mobile phone usage in nigeria. stop giving credits for policies that are quite normal. there were several telecoms companies operating in nigeria before the mobile technology era in 2001. multilinks started operating as far back as 1994 and their services were way better than NITEL. then you went on to say video machines were irrelevant when it's as clear as daylight that was the vehicle that made nollywood what it is today. If you are now comparing the GSM revolution achievement with satellite TV or video machines - I'll leave the world to judge who the stark illiterate is!you should facepalm.... ghana started their revolution as far back as 1992. by 1998, a sizeable chunk of their population were using mobile phones & now you want to give credits to OBJ for playing catch-up with the rest of his neighbours in the west african region? you should go back and write UME. your first degree was a waste of everyone's time including yourself! |
elampiro: I am sure I saw some more times that season where Rafael was flourishing on the pitch and cameras beamed on Neville's face on the bench. Before the match in San Siro Rafael was already our best right back.i am sure there was no such time, you are just making things up as usual - like telling us pogba/morrison weren't good enough in 11/12 and lying to us anderson & cleverley looked like they would rule forever. fact is - cleverley broke his foot as early as the 5th league game that season & the cleverson partnership was effectively over as early as september. now back to rafael, his promotion was quicker than others because neville retired. if neville was as greedy as giggs/scholes, rafael's growth would have suffered. fabio is more talented than rafael, how come he hasn't been able to displace evra? some few seasons back, evra looked like he was over the hill as he was out of form but fabio still couldn't get a sniff. had giggs/scholes left the stage when they should have, morrison/pogba would have stayed at old trafford. rookies find it difficult to break into our first team because of fergie's love for his old boys. have you forgotten fabio started in 2010/11 champions league final after producing excellent performances throughout the season. |
trendystuf: Do you think the neighbour chose the right way to explain the situation to his daughter?the neighbour is a goat....he should have told his kids the truth. the kids watch animal planet & see lions having sëx - so what's the big deal? if a neighbour writes such a nonsense letter to me, i would let him have it. |
gazilion: I just discussed with two of my colleagues during lunch today on President Jonathan's legacy or would be legacy after leaving office. Comparing him with our ex-president OBJ, I did point out 6 things that would remain a legacy and which positively impacted on the lives of virtually all average Nigerian families. I understand OBJ spent 8 years in office but with Jonathan's first term, any hope he'll surpass the legacies below?this bit already tells me you are perhaps a stark illiterate. OBJ introduced what? so are you going to commend IBB for introducing satellite TV in nigeria or shagari for introducing video machines? arrant nonsense! |
elampiro: Ac Milan (2) Man United (3) was only one of the instances Rafael got picked ahead of the big boys.and this means what? did bebe not get picked ahead of the big boys in europe? does it mean he was better than the rest? rafael got picked because of rotation, nothing else. united were playing everton @ goodison few days after the milan game & fergie reserved neville for that game. |
elampiro: I don't know. Tell me na.how does this make sense? gary neville retired. rafael did not send neville away. neville came out to say he's realised he's reached the point where his appearance is doing more harm than good to the team & he bowed out. if neville didn't retire, rafael would be nowhere near the first team. fergie is weak when it comes to his fledglings. he doesn't even think they are old enough to retire. nani/young have put in enough shift to make giggs retire. anderson/carrick/fletcher made enough impact to have retired scholes in 2009.....but the dinosaurs simply refused to go back then. |
Purist: The club tried getting senior professionals such as Rio Ferdinand to help as a role model. They put him in stable digs with other families. They gave him psychological counseling. When everyone had given up on Ravel, Alex Ferguson still wanted to give him another chance…so aware of his precocious talent.this article was written by another SAF apologist.... morrison wasn't coming to training because he had outgrown the reserves. put a university student in JSS2 and let's see if he won't become a perpetual truant. morrison wouldn't come to training but he would still best his peers in the reserves - common sense shoulda clearly told the young lad needed a bigger challenge.... would morrison skip training sessions that had rooney, rio, giggs, scholes, etc? would he skip training sessions knowing it might hinder his chance of appearing in a league game? SAF's logic was flawed in every way. if he really wanted ravel, he could have sent him on loan to belgium - a chunky fraction of our youngsters spent some time in belgium to hone their skills. |
El Guapo: [color=#0066ff]Shout-out to the Maga of the year -- OBAGO!the truth is - the N200k might mean nothing to the boy. the OP is crying more than the bereaved! |
Amhappy: Wonders they say shall never end.why should he collect the money back? he gave the money to her as a gift. was it a loan? did he lend her the money? only in those circumstances should he seek the refund.....but if it was a gift, he should just take it in his stride & move on. he's a man - men don't moan! |
debosky: Comparing someone who had played over 30 games for the first team that left due to high competition with Pogba. Did Pogba even get that kind of chance to even show what he could do? Did Juve pay a fee for Pogba?some people just open their mouths for the fun of it. that's the kind of idiotic comments i have been dealing with here. elampiro & duduface could be related. they both possess a similar set of genes. ![]() |
StarBoard: My point exactly.fergie is a rank idiöt! his man-love for giggs/scholes caused this mess and if those two had retired the season neville did, fergie would have tried a bit harder to keep 2 of his most precocious academy graduates. rio tweeted yesterday that the goal morrison scored last night wouldn't even be in his top 3 collections. he's that talented. it was because of his departure i stopped my MUTV subscription. the closest player to him in terms of ability in our academy right now is andreas pereira & i would still rate morrison ahead of him. |
jennykadry: There can only be one SOUL MATEthat's untrue... there can be 1 billion soul mates....if you were born in iraq, your soulmate wouldn't be far from the middle east. the more you move around, the more you discover there are plenty of people you are capable of loving with them loving you equally or even more..... |
montelik: saf did his best. he was training with the 1st team before his departure and his antics did not cease. infact he was even more of a handful, insulting backroom staff and other reservists and youngsters. how would his involvement even in starting lineup have changed his self destructive mindset. if anything he would've gotten even worse. fact is saf and united tried extremely hard and it is just sour grapes to point a finger of blame at saf or united. Morrison blew the numerous chances he was given at o.t, saf isn't a magician. to effectively help someone, that person has to want to help themself. and it wasn't until he saw his ass bounced out of o.t did he finally begin helping himself.he wasn't training in the first team.... there's no way wenger would have allowed such talent go to waste. morrison should have been promoted & be a constant name on the bench. if he was travelling with the senior team to europe & staying in the hotel for away league games, when would he have the time to mix with street thugs? the senior team players do a lot of travelling - that's what fergie should have done. he needed a new challenge not training with the reserve team. besides, rather than sell him outrightly, fergie could have sent him on loan for a year or two to celtic or rangers or even swansea in wales. are you seriously implying morrison would have broken the curfew in scotland & wales to get involved in gangster activities in manchester? think about it, fergie didn't try enough.... |
Afam4eva: It was only a matter of time. I have been vindicated. But i thought you preferred Somalia though.the bill won't be accepted - i trust the human rights group to shout it down. they would claim it's racism. we have heard of so many idiotic policies in the past and only few of them got endorsed. El Guapo: [color=#0066ff]Coogar can be funny, Cambo what?if you remove free health from this island then people would be generally screwed. cambodia & burma would be much better to live. what's UK without the NHS? |
montelik: Morrison is a prodigious talent, but he was also a lad headed for almost certain time behind bars if he didn't get out of Manchester when he did. The best thing SAF and United did for him was letting him go. It was a good wake up call and also an opportunity to remove him from the harmful elements seducing him. Now that he is seemingly getting plenty of attention again, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he once again begins his thuggish antics.i strongly disagreed with this bit. the best thing fergie could have done for him was to keep him busy. after fergie's fledglings(neville brothers, scholes, beckham, butt, etc) won the FA youth cup, they were promptly promoted to the senior squad. i expected the same treatment with ravel morrison. after morrison singlehandedly won the same competition, fergie held him on a leash. he was too good for the reserve team. the motivation wasn't there any longer, he needed a bigger challenge. morrison would miss training and he would still best his peers on match day. that was when fergie should have pushed him up. if he's busy trying to displace scholes & js park in the midfield, when would he have the time to rub shoulders with the urchins of longsight & moss side? |
GustavoFring:the last vestige of hope in the UK has just died. no more free health for immigrants? time to move to cambodia. |
StarBoard: I think Fergie decided not to give Morrison a chance based on his life outside the pitch.fergie is a plank.... if morrison was from glasgow, would he have sent him away? how come big sam has been able to turn morrison's life around and SAF couldn't? i am tired of the excuses - SAF has worked with some of the most combustible characters off/on the pitch....he simply didn't try enough to get morrison on the track. let's even agree morrison's case was irredeemable, what about pogba? was paul pogba also getting involved in robbery, assault and witness intimidation? morrison left united not because of his off-pitch antics, he left because SAF refused to promote him to the first team after the lad won the FA youth cup for us. wenger would never have given up on morrisson like fergie did & this is why i think giggs/scholes did more harm than good in the twilight of their career at united. their greed robbed us precocious talents from our academy. ryan giggs is a disgrace - he's singlehandedly the most self-centred player in the universe. |
ravel morrison - the best young english player by a country mile. maybe SAF was right he needed to get out of manchester to realise his potential but what a sublime goal he copped tonight against spurs.... https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3777/10120481755_6d36775be0_o.gif he ran half the length of the pitch & that finish was just world class....villas-boas must be wondering what hit him. imagine what morrison, cleverley, pogba & janujaz would have been like in our midfield now had SAF not brought back scholes in 11/12 season.... |
BinghiNya: and what did vp do tonightwhat can van persie do when the closest man to supply him passes failed every attempted pass to van persie? do you even watch football united play? rooney completed only 4 passes to van persie in 90 mins, only one of them was towards the sunderland box. www.nairaland.com/attachments/1345027_image_jpg0d5b1c4c7f720f698946c7f6ab08f687 StarBoard: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2445451/Manchester-United-transfers-Shinji-Kagawa-swapped-Borussia-Dortmund-defender-Neven-Subotic.htmlif kagawa must return, then we must get hummels. subotic is not better than oshea or wes brown. |
