Secondary school student riots, seniors were bullying juniors, students were beating teachers, raape was rampart at Inter-House-Sport, Inter school violence was very high (E.g CMS vs Igbobi, GCI vs Loyola etc)- nowadays nothing but a bunch of butter babies in secondary school

I can conclude these generation were better morally than their parents generation jare

I had girls in my school who started having sex since Primary school. By SS2 (average age 16)almost 60% of Nigerian boys and girls have a sexual encounter

But now we would tell them the world just started getting spoilt

Aside for homosexuality on the rise, I would say these generation were even better than the generation of their parents sef

Some of your posts remind me of one of my brothers. He could breathe fire and talk women dis, women dat, before he got married. We even thought he would have an ironclad pre-nup before marrying anyone. Dude was just so alpha male about this marriage/Naija women thingy.
After he got married, I was surprised at how he mellowed, not even a pre-nup. The only thing he's refused to do is joint accounts with his wife

Just increase his pocket money and throw away face. You can only come in if you guys have had that kind of cordial relationship before now...on the other hand, if you have, he most likely would have told you himself without you having to find out while standing behind his window...but sitting him down to start lecturing him on what is not is just plain weird.

naijababe: Agba wa bura! A 17 yr old in not too young to date unless one wants to play ostrich. If I were in Baba Oyo shoes, I'd simply just have 'the talk' with myself and hope and pray for the best.

armyofone: common now how can it be? there is no smoke without fire. I don't think women just wake up one day and initiate divorce for the fun and freedom of it. Most abused women take advantage of the system. Parents should learn to be civil with their separation, work together even if they are no longer married.

fathers can still be involved in their children's lives after divorce, pay their share of child support, stay with each parents during the year, get updates etc at least that's what I see among white parents.

gabbytabby: A father should make reasonable contribution to the upkeep of his children and no mother should have to go to court before she can get support. Also, the law cant legislate on a forced communication between children and their parents. It is citizens that are irresponsible that blame the law if they dont get involved in their children's lives its as important as the air they breath and the heart that pumps blood to their whole body.

but a fathers ultimate legacy is his children
he may have failed in marriage but he shold not fail in fatherhood

The lack of a social support system to help the mum out compounded the issues

Both parents are to blame as no one should have to raise children on their own even if both parents did not work out

I noted also that this forum there are plenty of insults without any sanction. I never insulted anyone anywhere until I got here. May be that is another angle everyone of us should also be careful about.
