Regarding Madrid, when you have goal machine CR7, one of greatest players of his generation, it is easy to plug the midfield with dm's and leave him and the others to conjure up the magic. We don't have any such players, so its better we play a collective team game with out a magician upfront. Besides what has this approach brought them, besides one league title. No I am decidely not enamored with such an approach. Besides we don't have the personel for it.

Whomever we signed would be forced out of their natural position or force Carrick out of his new found niche. We could play them together, but I am not a fan of the City approach and going by their present signings and failure in Europe, it isnt one they are in love with anymore.

Better we bring in more versatile central midfielders like Strootman, Cabaye, Gundogan, Fabregas e.t.c. A much better fit.
