dayokanu: Didier Drogba won 2 Highest goal scorer in Chelsea Anelka won one2 good seasons in 8 seasons when chelsea had their best spell. what a remarkable achievement!!! You expect Drogba to be winning every season?we don't expect him to win it every season, but scoring 5 league goals in a season on 2 occasions for a lead striker at chelsea is a massive disgrace. you won't find rooney scoring less than 10 goals whether he plays as a midfielder or in the defence. there are problems in chelsea beyond torres.....if you cannot see that then you are a tool! torres has scored more goals this season than drogba did in his first 2 seasons. |
freecocoa: Duh!so you know...... i was at a party recently and one of the guests asked if any of us as a kid ever thought or questioned maybe our parents weren't really the biological parents with the kind of strict discipline we had growing up.......we all raised our hands! |
2legit2qwt: That's what I used to think but my co-worker's friend actually went to jail and ended messing up his record. why? because he slapped his son and the boy's teacher asked him how he got the mark, the rest is history. People got to jail everyday and have their children taken away from them for something that simple, same way you'll slap a Nigerian kid.you cannot leave marks..... once you slap hard enough to leave marks or bruises then you have stepped out of line. he is guilty as charged! in the UK, parents are allowed to smack with a reasonable force. don't leave marks or bruises.....there are ways of smacking kids without leaving those, smack the soles of their feet! AjanleKoko: In the 90s, cable TV wasn't as pervasive as it is today, and the Internet didn't exist.and these shows teach them to talk back at their elders or what's the essence of this point? Leave that not-talking-back story. Children in NG freely talk back to their elders. Maybe not like dem rotten oyinbo kids, but they're way more outspoken than they used to be. Now it is even frowned upon to beat children in Nigeria, in middle-class circleskids in nigeria don't talk back to elders...they cannot! we saw a pastor openly slap a member of his congregation the other day, the pastor should come and try that in the UK/USA. nigerian kids are not raised to talk back, the few ones who do have simply refused to accept the home training given to them by their parents. it's one thing to freely express one's mind and it's another to talk back when being dressed down by an elderly person. nigerian kids are timid in such situations and that's the exact reason we find it difficult to question the authority. i can agree they are now more outspoken than 20 years ago but it's still not good enough.... freecocoa: Agreed the minds of kids are alike but contrary to what you believe, what one says or didn't say is very relevant, infact that's the bone of contention here sef, it might actually be all about the law after all yet the truth remains that, because there are no such laws in Nigeria, the kids here tend to behave better than the ones abroad, simplesyou really think they behave better? look at the society very well and think again about the behaving better bit of your comments. really? so all those ones who break the law, yahoo boys, kidnappers, robbers, pròstitution on the streets and even in our schools are from where? are they aliens? scratch that, what about our politicians who must have had stringent upbringing in the 60s, where did they learn the art of stealing public funds from? the mind boggles...... the nigerian kid is not better behaved than his counterpart abroad - he's just a good pretender. |
dayokanu: Demba Ba stock dipped because he had to share minutes with fernandud. If he had the EPl playing time Torres had he wont be outside of the top 15 like Fernandudnope, his stock dipped cos he's not as effective as he was in toon army! in the league games he's started, he has been horrible! we saw this happened to lukaku too and plenty of strikers in chelsea. when drogba scored only 5 league goals all season, what was the excuse then? sharing of minutes with torres? ![]() |
dayokanu: Is that also the reason why Torres is tanked outside the top 15 strikers in the EPL?of course - that's the reason. we see how demba ba's stock has dipped since he moved to chelsea. what's to say the top 15 strikers in the epl won't suffer the same fate playing with chelsea's self-centred midfielders? until they play in chelsea, the comparison is daft and illogical. |
freecocoa: Coogar you haff lie here joor, I was termed a rude and stubborn child by my mum while growing up, I never even really talked back at her outrightly, it was usually a case of murmuring inaudible words with her asking "what was that?" with this very stern look on her face and me grudgingly saying "nothing ma" even while I felt like slapping herwhat you said or what you didn't say is irrelevant.... the key here is what you felt during those agonising moments of getting smacked. if you knew you would be protected by law if you talk back then you would use the advantage. the mind of a kid raised abroad and the one raised in nigeria is the same thing. the ones abroad press on the advantages they have cos the law protects them, the one in nigeria knows if he should call the cops, he would be the one that would be beaten by the cops as soon as his mother gives the cops a carton of lager beer! |
dayokanu: If we go by your narrative all season Demba Ba according to Fantasy is a much superior striker to Torresbased on demba's performance from newcastle..... if you count the points copped in a blue shirt by both of them then you would see torres has outperformed demba ba. |
ITbomb: You mistake intentapologies! let me quicky remove self from fücking sight before more words fall from mouth like shyte from arsë. ![]() |
HARDDON: oh yea?so what's the difference between what was said behind you or in front of you? the only reason a child in nigeria will not talk back to his parents is because he would get thrashed not that he's not offended by the actions of his parents like his counterpart abroad.... got to balls to stand up to you and he is living under your roof and you feeding his rat a33?your child is human not an animal or a slave in the 6th century. HONOUR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER IN THE LORD IS NOT IN YOUR BIBLE I SUPPOSE.yet more hypocrisy.... in spite of the draconian corporal punishment and strict upbringing, nigeria still ships the highest number of pröstitutes to europe so what happened to the strict upbringing and the religious beliefs? make una dey deceive unaselves with the barbaric ways of raising a child! |
2legit2qwt: No denying reality shows has no credibility but in the case of Dr Phil's show and the likes, he pays them to showcase their dirty life to the public which may or may not be exaggerated by the participants.everything is scripted...... they train them on what to say and how to feign all manners of expression.....believe those nonsense shows and you would believe anything. a little boy would slap his mother and she would not do anything? come on - there's no rule book that says a parent cannot smack her child......the key is use reasonable force! |
ThiefOfHearts: Is that English or incantation?apologies..... i am practiced with sword not words. |
dayokanu: There is a world of difference between fantasy and realitythere's no difference in the world of football.... the points copped are based on the actual events in the football game.....this is why the leading players in the fantasy points are the top players in the real world. assists are as important as goals scored - a player that provides assists and scores goals is greater than the player that does not provide any assists at all and scores goals. |
ThiefOfHearts: Spartacus is garbage now. What's the point without Lucretia and Batiatusjupiter's cöck! |
dayokanu: His job description is to score goals.his job description is to produce goals.....either by scoring or assisting. this is why an assist cops 3 points on fantasy and a goal cops 4 points, there are no points given to fouls won, throw-in won or the number of goal-line clearances won. an assist is a pass that directly leads to a goal. without the assist, there's no goal. how you can compare that to foul won or throw-in won openly shows you lack any decorum in a rational discourse..... |
shine12: Without being controversial. If you don’t train the ones in Nigeria, they will be spoilt, vice versa to UK.spot on, mate! |
HARDDON: parents? dis does not only have to do with parents.this is the mistake you guys are making - the one abroad would say these things but what makes you think the ones in nigeria do not harbour the same thoughts on their minds but lacked the balls to talk back. the key here is the intention! the kid who says "Bleep off" to his parents and the one who says it in his mind are the same thing......what the nigerian kid will not say to his parents, he says it behind them. |
2legit2qwt: I don't believe that's for show, no mother will allowed herself to be shown on worldwide TV for such a shameful act, you need to read the reaction to that. Dr Phil is too credible for that such display, he doesn't need such publicitylook at this man...... they all pay their guests - some as high as $5000 to appear on the show. if people can pròstitute themselves for as low as $20, why won't she allow herself to be slapped on national TV for $5000? are you kidding me? they are all scripted like WWF. dr phil has no credibility, there are fraud allegations against him - go on google and educate yourself about the so called "reality shows" in american television shows. even judge judy pays for those people coming to her courtroom to discuss coogar stole freecocoa's lunch kinda cases. freecocoa: True but bottomline remains that, Nigerian kids who are rude have nothing on their counterparts abroad.says who? nigerian kids that are rude are down-right rotten.......go to lagos streets and see ornery kids everywhere talking trash, smoking weed, stealing and doing all sorts of vices..... |
^^^ we can always agree to disagree but when i am bored, i know which TV show that keeps my company on a long flight-distance..... |
freecocoa: Still, those kid abroad fit slap their mama, even the words they tell you is enough slap.it depends on how they are trained..... yes, they are encouraged to express themselves but it doesn't mean they would slap their parents or say rude things. it's what the parents allow them to say or watch. i have seen unruly kids in nigeria and i have seen polite ones abroad. it's what it is. parents should train their kids very well in a way that would make them proud of their children. |
2legit2qwt: WTF! i saw this sh1t, i'll hang that boy and use a horsewhip on his calves and forearm, fat bastardall these shows are scripted...... don't believe them, abeg.... |
AjanleKoko: Hardly. Most kids in Nigeria nowadays, mine included, express themselves freely.you don't get my point..... expressing themselves freely with their mates or strangers is one thing - saying what's on their mind when they see an elderly person doing something wrong is another. Plus, kids living in Nigeria are way more exposed these days. Thanks to DSTV that is priced as low as N3,000, kids have access to Disney, Cbeebies, and all these other foreign kiddie TV programs, the average lower-middle class kid in urban Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja, PH and some other urban state capitals) speaks British or American-accented English gleaned from watching TV, probably is unable to speak his or her local language, plays regularly with computers and tablets, goes to the movies, and so on. Not much different than an average lower-middle class kid anywhere in the West.many nigerian kids growing up in the 90s saw all these foreign channels too and they were still a bit quiet in general than the kids abroad. it's not about what you see, it's what you do after watching those channels. how many nigerian kids have the chutzpah to talk back to their elders? none - the ones who tried it were beaten to stupor and it's still the same till date. My son had to go to school in the US for a short period while his mother was there, a couple of years ago. He was generally adjudged to be the most outspoken and talkative kid in his class. I found that amusing, because Americans are talkative by nature.the nigerian society is a unique one! it emphasises so much on kids respecting their elders or the authority. you cannot even say an elderly person is lying in the yoruba culture for instance even when it's obvious the oldie is lying through his teeth. it's this maximum respect of the authority that has kept nigeria where it is till date - with the leaders doing as they please whilst their subjects watch on and expecting Jesus to come down one day and touch the hearts of the leaders..... |
dayokanu: 5 goals in 2013 . More than what Fernandud has scoredhow many assists has torres provided in comparison to demba ba? compute their goals + assists in 2013 and get back to me...... |
Lol! Batiatus was insane with some of his explicit quotes, but it doesn't make one think. It only amuses. Game of Thrones on the other hand is full of insightful quotes. It seems like you hate Game of Thrones for your own reasons, but it is really a great series. Very original and totally pretentious, unlike Spartacus.
i don't hate game of thrones - i saw the first 2 seasons and i was particularly impressed with season 1. in my opinion, season 2 was mehhhhh but i am watching the current season. it's corny to compare GOT with spartacus. people tend to underrate spartacus because of the sheer nüdity and the raw violence but beyond those are dialogues that would make you fall in love with engish language. words put together so intelligently it would make shakespeare grin in his grave..... batiatus' quotes should be etched in gold......some are explicit some would just make you go bonkers. i have missed his character so much. he talks with so much aura to make you look beyond his despicable leadership. he's not the only one, his wife is world class too so are many of the characters on the show! you cannot compare both shows - spartacus wins on dialogue alone and the unusual english language they spoke on the show. |
There are several actually. Sandor (The Hound): Any man dies with a clean sword, I'll rape his fu-king corpse! Cersei: The gods have no mercy, that's why they're gods. Varys: I've always hated the bells. They ring for horror, a dead king, a city under siege. A wedding. Tyrion: Those are brave men knocking at our door. Let's go kill them! Cersei: Tears aren't a woman's only weapon The best one's between your legs. Tyrion: I much like my head. I don't want to see it removed just yet. -Bronn: Do you know how to use that? -Tyrion: I chopped wood once. No, actually, I watched my brother chop wood. -Tyrion: I'm the captain. If this ship goes down, I go down with it. -Varys: I'm sure many captains said the same when the ship was afloat. Those are only but a few. There are more epic ones that I will post later on.
these are memorable quotes? i laugh in doctore! batiatus alone made more sick quotes than these ones.....are you kidding me? the only character on GOT that would walk into the spartacus set is the imp......the others are as bland as saliva! |
dayokanu: How come these passes arrive early when Demba Ba is playing but delays when Fernandud is playinghow many goals has demba scored for chelsea that gave you the audacity to say passes arrive for him? you are such a joke! |
Frostyzone: Are you for real?? Now I'm pretty certain you haven't watched Prison Break season 3, because if you had you wouldn't have written those.says the person who didn't know dexter is from showtime......prison break season 3 is the only prison break season i kept because it had more realism to it. i am absolutely certain i saw it way before you did. Just because you have an emotional connection to it doesn't make it the best show or addictive to everyone else. And what quote are you talking about? If you want quotes, then watch The sopranos. Oz on the other hand reminds me too much of Spartacus when it comes to the crass, and unrefined style of expressing themselves. A kind of show I will feel embarrassed watching in the presence ofthat's because you are pre-pubrescent! if you are still worried about what your mother would think watching TV shows then you shouldn't be watching it. there's realism and there's fantasy. prison break is fantasy - oz epitomises the life in american prisons - the gangs(aryan brothers, negroes, christians, muslims, latinos, bikers, celts, etc) any prison show that does not depict that should not be taken seriously. And here we go again...fantasy vs realism - which should people buy into? what made spartacus lose his vibe was the death of andy whitfield - the viewers had connected with him in season one and his loss did a lot of damage to the viewership. spartacus' season one has more substance than anything game of thrones can provide....people watch shows to pick on one liners and great quotes, not the growls of imps and lannisters. mention one memorable quote on GOT.....abeg, go and sit down with your tunnel-vision! Picking Spartacus above Game of thrones tells me alot about your taste, which is sadly IMO, not very objective.nah - it says something about yours - it says you just watch based on the CGIs the producers have been able to fuse into the show or the number of weird creatures in them. i am about the characters and the dialogue - not some fantasy known to harry porter fans. you are still a newbie in this TV show business......learn fast and stop spewing baloney! |
Ishilove: That's why I want you to check. You don't know the best hands but you have automatically labelled us wack and tastelessi browsed through the whole section and nothing got my mind blown up.....and this is why i am challenging the best writers on there. Coogar, when I have your time I will take up your challenge, but as it is I have my plate full with this: www.nairaland.com/1205583/iyawo-nylon-baggo and finish your iyawo nylon bag - i am not going anywhere. i am ready for this challenge anytime any day. it's one thing to write and it's another thing to intelligently fuse words together. ishilove, get ready for the ride of your life....... ileobatojo: You go wait tire! You are just going on a long tin!what scholarly articles are you talking about? i might have forgotten there was something i ought to have provided. remind me, abeg! you are my favourite sparring partner cos i always win! ![]() Ishilove: It seems it is just mouth the boy has. He's mouthfully mouthfulhaaaaa.......mouth? boy? mouthful? ishilove - it's like you don't remember i gave your friend a C-minus in the other thread you helped him post some weeks back. like i said, my pen game is out of this world. take your time and get back to me when you are ready for your trip to disneyland! |
Ishilove: That section hasn't been active until recently. We have just began to experience a rise in interest and participation, so mayhaps that is why you think the section is still the dreary old same 'ol same 'ol of times past.yet some more excuses...... ishilove is on fire ![]() Tsk tsk tsk, coogar, are you sure you want that? You want to challenge the whole literature section? I would hate to see you embarass yourself...i don't know who has the best pen game there but I can start with you...... name the time and place and watch me take you to disneyland with the scribbles deeper than the mind of beethoven. ![]() |
Frostyzone: Oswald Penn ko? You seem to have forgotten about Sona in prison break season 3 where anything goes. Where you can only stay alive if you are strong or smart enough.sona my white butt! how many prisoners died in sona? how many psychopaths were in sona? how many prisoners got crucified? was there any incident in sona where a prisoner got his face defecated on? prison break is a fantasy show - it does not express the realities of prison where gangs and groups operate like mafiosos. Oz was a great show like I said before, but it wasn't as addictive and entrailing like Prison break. It may have more character development more than the later, but pales in plots and story line.it's too addictive - i have all the 6 seasons and i watch them time after time. some of the quotes on it would make shakespeare or churchill green with envy. Saying that Oz is better than Prison Break is tantamount to saying that Spartacus is better than Game of Thrones, and we both know that ain't so.spartacus is better than game of thrones - oz is light years above prison break. like i said, oz is more than a TV show, it's a ground-breaking idea in the world of television shows. whoever wrote prison break had oz in mind and copied some of the ideas on oz. |
El Guapo: Always told the #Nandoteam that the Dud has got the answers to his Voodoo, aint got no strings with the Setup or the Attacking band!that's another pass that arrived early - something i have always talked about on here......funny ibime and his association of ninnies have gone quiet! |
Frostyzone: Oz was great, but it paled in comparison to Fox's Prison break.ask seun to hide this post for you.... comparing oz to prison break is like comparing jose mourinho to stephen keshi. michael schofield or teabag wouldn't last a day in oswald penn. oz is more than a TV show..... |
Hello friends. Please I created this thread out of frustration and I will need contructive contributions. My marriage is barely 2years and I have this fear that its at the brink of collapse. My hubby who used to be my best friend has suddenly changed. There is no friendship between us. The only time we are together is when we are discussing other people or getting intimate. And we only get intimate after so much persuasion from me. For over a year I have never heard any sweet word from him but I hear him complementing other ladies. He never complements my dressing yet other men do. He never complement my food and kind gestures yet other men do. All I hear is condemnation. The most painful part is that he has more female friends. And he keeps lying to me about these girls. All the love and affection he once had for me he has transfered to our dauther. He is making the marriage uninteresting for me. Is it because am jobless? Or I because I added some weight(cos he keeps complaining about my weight). Or is this how men act as soon as they get married? Each night we sleep in the same bed like total strangers. Honestly am frustrated.
find a good gym and burn those adipose tissues. i don't like excess fat too - blubber, grease and loads of wheezing can turn the most virile man on the planet into a monk. get your shape back to the time you first met your hubby and go out more(get a job or start a small business). |
