Ishilove: Haaa... The Lit section is like a market place. You have the very good, the good, the mediocre and the downright boring. It is left for you to search.

Another thing you have to understand is that a lot of the writers yonder are beginners, or 'learners'. The writers whose creations you have scornfully dismissed as 'basic' and 'tasteless' are people going through a metamorphosis; budding writers who have the potential to be international award winners.
You cannot use the standards used to judge professionals to judge beginners, which is what you are erroneously doing.
all manners of excuses have been given to defend a whole section - na wa!!! ishilove, the metamorphosis should be complete by now. i have been taking trips to that section since 2011 and it's still same ol', same ol'.

I still think you are a philistine, though, so I doubt if you will be able to appreciate really good literaure when you stumble on it.
let's play a game......
bring out the best hands in that section and my pen game would outfox all of them cloned together. i am throwing down the gauntlet. coogar vs literature section crew.......i dare you to take up the challenge cheesy

CFCfan: Omo that 2004/2005 season was da bomb. Apart from Liverpool, no other team could cope with Chelsea's fast, direct and efficient play.
I also think Robben wanted to move because he started the toughest games of the 06/07 season from the bench; Mourinho preferred a strong, diamond midfield 4 of Lampard, Makalele, Essien and Ballack.
after spending about half a billion pounds on players, how won't chelsea be the bomb? that side was arguably the strongest team in europe then. they came to old trafford and slammed united 3-1 on their own soil. it was so painful to watch - more painful than shollypoppa's sex change. grin

Frostyzone: Whoops! Just realized my mistake. You were right. It's showtime. I missed it up with another HBO show he played the protagonist, 6 feet under! But Damn, those two premium channels have a lot in common with the similarity of the productions they are churning out.
you actually forgot the greatest tv show on HBO....there's no show like oz!

Purist: The players with the best win percentages (20+ games) at all 45 teams to play in the PL.

http://twitpic.com/cgw6oe

Although he hasn't played so many games yet, it's still interesting to observe that Cleverley has the highest win percentage (87%) on that list. I believe this is no mere coincidence, but instead lends more credence to coogar's argument that United tend to win more games with him on the pitch (in his preferred midfield role of course). Those that claim that Cleverley brings nothing to our midfield may want to have a rethink.
those that say cleverley brings nothing to the way we play are rëtards....

Frostyzone: It's HBO. When you talk about this premium cable network, be rest assured that they don't carter for kids but for mature audience.

Some of their popular Tv series past and present are as follows;

Game of Thrones.

Treme

Dexter

Six feet Under

The sopranos

Dead Wood

True Blood

Rome

Etc
dexter is from showtime, mate!

However, kids in Nigeria have more respect for their elders unlike the kids abroad.
the so-called respect is shrouded by hypocrisy.....
the kids in naija are as bad as the ones abroad. the only difference is the kids abroad are trained to be upfront and outspoken. the ones in naija are trained to listen and not talk back. their minds are the same but one is free to express himself while the other is meant to keep mute!

playmode: I have lived in South Africa for close to 13 years but have been planning to return to Nigeria with my family for the past two years. Over the past two years i have sent money home to arrange a place for me and my family to reside in and have done a lot of research to determine what I will do when I get to Nigeria.

All my plans however have been put in disarray with the worsening Political, Infrastructural and Security problems in Nigeria. I just learnt yesterday that there has been close to 10 kidnappings in the lekki axis where i own a property and this just worries me.

Living abroad all these years has definitely "spoilt" me. Now i am used to constant electricity & water, good roads ,clean open market, parks , cheap ADSL internet, advanced security , strong currency , efficient service providers ,quick access to modern technology , world class medical facilities e.t.c All these things makes my life easy and enables me to earn a decent living. My wife is South African just as my kids are and they are also spoiled by the easy life in South Africa.

The recent state of kidnappings in Nigeria has scared my wife who was once eager to move to Nigeria to become reluctant to move. As everyday passes I see the hope of moving to Nigeria with my family fading away. My In laws have even made it clear to me that they do not want their daughter moving permanently to Nigeria because of the kidnapping situation. I have tried defending Nigeria in their presence but everyday news of bombing or kidnapping emanates from Nigeria.

My question to all Nairalanders especially the ones in Nigeria is this :

(A) If you were in my shoes what will you do?

(B) Is it worth it to come back to Nigeria at this time or should I wait a few more years till the security situation get better?

(C) Should I leave my family in South Africa, come back to Nigeria and visit SA once every two months?

Please only serious minded people need reply and please none of that “I am the first to comment” nonsense. This is a thread directed at mature adults with some level of intelligence. Thank you.
if you don't have enough money or a steady stream of income that can give you a mirror image of what you currently enjoy then never go to nigeria. people would build castles in the air for you with their mouths but they are all lying. only 1% of the population are actually living, the others are only existing!

home is where you make it - i dunno how people get home sick. i love nigeria but i don't miss it to the point of thinking about relocation. the time is not right at all so stay put until you can afford a nice house in a well-secured area....if you are married to my sister and you relocate her to nigeria and something terrible happens to her, i would kill you!

that's exactly the point....
customer care agents don't have a well-paying job. i doubt they make £1500 a month so there's a ready made excuse for them to commit crime. they are not necessarily after my cash in my account but the good credit score i have built over the years......

shymexx: My windows are double-glazed and I'm never at home, to be honest... I've been paying electricity bill since I was 17/18 and I've never paid anything close to this(even when I was in uni outside London and stayed indoors most of the time)... It's just the normal thing with these rip-offs to overcharge people for the services they didn't render...
but i really don't trust your lifestyle.....
you party, you drink and you move around a lot. you might have left your heaters at full blast for a week in those your trips up north to prey on 'em white chics. a quarterly bill of £500 in winter is not unusual. it's just what it is. call them or write them a long letter why you think they have overcharged you........if a lady picks up the phone, flirt with her she's got the nicest voice ever and she should be am actress. i once had £300 taken off my mobile phone bill by that "friendly" gesture. keep trying their number until a young female voice answers you.

I should've changed my meter to the pre-paid one when I moved in... Who likes paying bills, anywayhuh Even the richest people in the UK don't like paying taxes, hence why most of them hide their money in tax-free countries... Most of the clowns running their mouths on the internet probably cry every time the postman drops their letters every Monday morning, to be honest... I'm a real guy and I don't care about fronting to people in Nigeria... grin
pre-paid meter is costlier.....
i have never used them....you would be charging it £20 per day in the winter. nobody likes them bills. i dread those horrible mails on tuesdays and wednesdays....but it's what it is. i enjoy the services and i should pay to keep enjoying the services.

shymexx: Lmao @ the illuminated ones..

Hence why people with supreme consciousness call London - the belly of the beast... Canary Wharf and the City of London.. lipsrsealed
i should have been a city trader....
those guys are the gurus - the beasts! bills? congestion charge? parking tickets? bison whips? these things are like popcorn to an average city trader.

chrisley024: Rooney n Rafael are injured naa!
why did he start rafael against sunderland?
the cup tie was a one-off game - he should have rested the big boys for that one and play the others for the sunderland game. we can lose at sunderland and still win the league. one loss in the cup tie = elimination! fergie is an idiöt!

shymexx: So overpriced electricity bill is what pays for all the story-of-methuselah that you wrote up there?? Do you understand English and actually know the difference between electricity bill and taxeshuh If you want to pay 4 times the amount you're supposed to pay for your
electricity bill, good luck to you... As for me, I won't let anyone rip me off... undecided undecided
the winter months are usually like that......
besides, there are things to analyse. firstly, are your windows double-glazed? if they are not then you have shot yourself in the foot. the standard temperature the house should run is also very confusing. there's no point running the hot water only for you to dilute it with cold water(that's waste of heat energy).....

if you stay at home all the time too, you would use more heat. these are the reasons your bill went as far as £500. i paid around the same amount this time last year too - shymmex, go and pay your bill before british gas sends the bailiffs to come and remove your boiler...... grin

SailorXY: Seems United will get Thiago from Barca. A welcome addition for me
thiago from barca?
what needs to be replaced is alex ferguson's tactical brain or remove phelan and get someone who can challenge fergie's tactical foul-ups.

what's the brain behind playing cleverley as a left winger against chelsea? why play valencia as a right back? the whole set up was just foul. phil jones is not a midfielder....

have we won any match with him in the midfield? anderson destroyed chelsea in the capital one tie at the bridge. why didn't he play on monday alongside cleverley? wrong tactics against sunderland in the league, wrong tactics against chelsea 2 days later.

i guess fergie just prioritised his options - the league had more importance than the fa cup for him. there was no chance we would ever beat chelsea without rooney, van persie and rafael at the bridge! the team selection and the tactics against sunderland and chelsea were rubbish.

bebe2: hi NL, i have a bakery in benin city nigeria. it was opened in january and its been run by my sister.
the problem is were are not making a profit.
i spent about 4million setting it up but it has refused to get off the ground.

cost of baking one bag of flour (including other ingredients)according to my calculations is about N11,800.
they are making profit of about N1200 fom each bag after expenses.
this doesnt make sense, i expect to make at least 40% of the cost of making a bag of flour.

we cant even holdon to a baker they come spend 1 month and they are gone.

pls anyone wit experience, can u help wit tips?
you did the equivalent of pouring petrol on N4million worth of cash and you lighted it up with a match. you stay abroad and you want to run any business in nigeria? who advised such? even when you stay there, they still make attempts to steal from you, let alone staying abroad. go back home, sell the business and take your money back......you are better off putting your money in a fixed deposit with any good nigerian bank!
