RuuDie: Whether you watch or not. . .it will not change the outcome of the game. We've won games played with these guys and we've also lost too, so no biggie!there's no sentiments in football...... we can as well bring ruud, keane, stam and paul ince back......these guys are done and dusted, it's time fergie moves on or it's time those old fools realise they are causing the team more harm than good....... worst case scenario - leave them on the bench till the 70th-80th minute and bring them on when cleverson must have tired. what's with giggs that he doesn't realise he's now a sack of shyte? he cannot press, he cannot defend, he cannot pass.....yet his continuous selection stunts the growth of the young lads! giggs/scholes are shredding their legacy at every turn now....it's ridiculous! |
RuuDie: In the Gaffer I have complete, unalloyed trust, faith and belief --- anyhow he wants to play it, am behind him 100%!!!of course......giggs is your friend you have no problems at all with the old fool costing us points every season....my mood to watch man utd games these days is centred on the line-up! once i spot giggs in the starting xi, i turn off my tv! |
chosen04: ******shakes head**********why do these people want to break nigeria up? what's the essence of exhuming the corpses of 1970. it seems ndigbos did not learn any lesson and they want more innocent women and children to die out of their own selfish reasons. the division in nigeria is "the elite" versus "the masses" not some tribal war.... if biafra gets their wish and break away - the problem would not go away and more than 10 million innocent women and children would have lost their lives.....nigeria would not let biafra stand alone - that's a pipe dream. |
biafran zionist movement? what the fück!!! |
dayokanu: Surely you musta won the Global face of Dementiathis boy is very stupid...... which presents a better comparison - the league games where MAZACAR all started together or the ones where 2 of the trio were left on the bench? do you wear your arsë on your head or spermflakes have occupied your cranial cavity! |
dayokanu: Oh I didnt know it was a different team playing the CL It was Arsenal playing the league and Ashenal playing the CL Onye beribedayokanu, you should be the poster boy for idiocy! chelsea's fluid midfield is the common denominator only in league games. in the capital one cup for instance, hazard and oscar did not start till late in the game - they played loads of youngsters in that game as well so if they had lost/won, no one would have blamed it on MAZACAR.....do you have some sorta autism? |
dayokanu: Seems you have a thing for scrotums If you want to observe and suck on nuts then talk to Deboskyyou are the yansh man, not me...... I didnt know a fluid midfield is a guarantee to win gameseven though you lumped various competitions together to rubbish arsenal, they still didn't fail to win in 4 successive games. do you have a problem with analogy? chelsea have not won in 4 successive league games - dayo's analogy managed to include schalke 04. i never knew schalke is from east london playing in the premier league - you need to be lobotomised! ewu ara! |
dayokanu: You should have a patent for your brand of stupidity. Because a team loses games or drops point meant they were not fluid. Its plain stupiding even when Looking at it from the stupidity prism.i am sure if you look hard enough, there's a tattoo near your scrotum spelt "foolish" in hebrews! how can you be fluid and fail to win in 4 successive league games? A fluid midfield means it would win all games or not lose games?a fluid midfield would not fail to win in 4 successive league games against mediocre teams like west brom, liverpool and swansea unless you were born a cretin! Barcelona struggled to win 2 games vs Celtic means they are not fluid? Swansea last season played one of the most beautiful football yet they lost several gamesof course, barcelona refused to win in 4 successive league games to be compared to the current chelsea form - this is what happens when someone has had his thalamus and cerebellum swap positions in the cranial cavity! i dunno which is more stupid - the analogy or the one who taught it to write.......i'd let the neutrals decide that one! debosky: I agree with coogar - Chelski's midfield fluidity is a myth. OSZAMA all have a tendency to drift inwards and end up taking up similar positions either on the edge of the box or just inside it. You hardly ever see them wide pinging in crosses for example.thank you..... i am waiting for the day hazard or oscar would beat a man on the touch line and deliver a cross from the corner flag into the head of a striker. they all drift inwards and wait for the full backs do the wing play.....and that's fluidity? dayo did engineering and he forgot the concept of fluid mechanics? that's the problem chelsea have got - poor coaching with midfielders in 4-2-3-1 playing like its 4-3-3 and completely forgetting they would ignore the arrow head if they keep playing through the middle. torres has made 50 crosses to falcao's 6 ...... why is torres making the cross? because the daft 3 musketeers are all fighting to take his position! |
dayokanu: Are you gunning for the Nobel prize in stupidity? When does a midfield being fluid guarantee winning?if a fluid midfield of chelsea cannot beat swansea, west brom and liverpool in succession then you need brain surgery. it has to be working for it to be fluid! having players run around without a sense of purpose and calling it fluidity means you are bereft of football acumen! So because they werent winning means its not fluid? You need to report to the nearest Psychiatry. Chelsea till last year was very rigid with Malouda, Lampard essien etc and that didnt stop them from breaking the goals record.even then, they were not rigid........malouda was getting into the centre forward position with ease and scoring. lampard and essien dovetailed brilliantly and would always swap positions to give opposition a torrid time. We say MIDFIELD is fluid and this Otondo is mentioning Van Persie. When did Van persie become a midfielder?so van persie dovetailing hernandez against villa with rooney on the left and valencia on the right is called what? van persie played as an attacking midfielder in the 2nd half of the villa game. hernandez led the line with rooney + van persie + valencia floating behind hernandez. you lack football nous! dayokanu: The Gold, Silver and bronze for daft comment still goes to you.you would say that simply because there's a big pënis in your brain.... When Chelsea was searching for Goals in their last 4 league games How come Torres wasnt getting chances? Abi they didnt need goals in games vs Swansea, Shaktar Donetsk or Liverpool? How come Torres wasnt getting chances like Sturridge got on Saturdayagainst united, torres was sent off at 2-2 against swansea, chelsea were pegged back 4 mins to end the game against liverpool, chelsea were also pegged back by suarez's goal! against westbrom, chelsea were chasing a goal...with almost 40 mins left! if you really have common sense then you should see the difference in the pattern. chelsea had more than 40 mins to restrategize and score a goal or more to win/draw. enough time in a losing position to swing the momentum of the game their way. Now it was because they needed goals vs West brom that made Sturridge get chances. You should be tied to a volkswagen beetle and dragged from Emure Ekiti to Katsinayour neck should be tied to a moving vehicle from chicago back to ogbomosho to get common-sense inducing tribal marks.....your stupidity knows no bounds! |
dayokanu: Every midfield should have a fulcrum which is the role of Mikel, Khedira, Busquets, Carrick, Luiz gustavo, Song etc.you are a toad the chelsea midfield fluidity is a myth - a fluid midfield that haven't won a league game in 4 weeks should be questioned. arsenal + city + united have more fluidity in their midfield than chelsea. van persie, rooney, nani and young can play anywhere across the line.....podolski, walcott, cazorla and gervinho can play across the forward line. torres can't play as a winger and no chelsea midfielder can play as a traditional winger - where's the fluidity? |
dayokanu: Everyone on this thread knows we are talking about Torres post Summer 2010, No one here cares what he did in High school.hahahaha - since 2010 he won the golden boot in a competition involving the finest strikers in europe! Since 2010 How come he has been out of sync with Xavi and iniesta. Before I joined Nairaland Ronaldinho was the best player in the world so that should justify him being wannk at this timehow did he win the golden boot? who fed him the passes that made his goals? segun odegbami or teslim fatusi? Choose anyone you want and for convenience Maybe you can compare him to another striker who played consistently for Spain in that time frame David Villatorres vs rooney vs tevez - give us the breakdown of their national team exploits and deduct goals scored from penalty And torres was banned from scoring Free kick assisted goals? Or whats the point here dumbotorres wouldn't be the only target in the box in a situation like this. terry, ivanovic, luiz, cahill, etc are in there with him.......you are the tool that keeps referring that torres being the only striker should be the one getting the goals! do you now see how foolish your claims are? Torres got fed scraps and the moment Sturridge started playing as the top 9 The midfield stopped feeding the striker scraps and started giving himand i have told you there was a change in momentum in that game - the team searching for the goal would up the ante and the side leading would cede possession and defend with their lives. whether torres was subbed or not, there were bound to be chances for chelsea at the death cos they had to get a goal! even when small teams are losing by a goal margin, they up the tempo to get a draw let alone a big team like chelsea! only an obdurate buffoon like yourself would nail that momentum change to sturridge ! if sturridge was the dog's bollocks, why didn't he score the chances he got? |
nateevs: This is a good piece of quote. Very useful for an inevitable verbal tussle in the foreseeable future.hehehehehe - all eyes on turin tomorrow - lose that game and di matteo can wave his job goodbye! personally, i just think chelsea are 2-3 players away from being a good side. hummel/subotic in the defence and a dembele(box to box midfielder) to sit beside one of mikel/ramirez. the front four need to be told scoring goals is a team effort and not about individual jason bourne stunt! |
dayokanu: We ask how many goals Torres has scored since summer 2010 this one is mentioning goals scored in 2006 when Dinho was at the peak of his powers and Thierry Henry was leading Arsenals attack.who cares how/when he scored them? an obdurate wankër like yourself seem to always suggest torres has never performed for spain with xaviesta and that myth has been busted. torres has been performing for spain before you joined nairaland so go fück yourself with your watery analysis.... How many goals did Torres score for his NT between summer 2010 & now. Answer on a postcard And compare him to other NT top strikers in the same timeframe.other NT strikers like who? rooney? ronaldo? tevez? aguero? benzema? who?? BTW of hazards 8 assists only 2 were penaltieshow many were from direct freekicks?
@Coogar How man tap-in goals has Giroud scored for Arsenal?
i sincerely meant goals scored from excellent team play rather than expecting a striker to score a hatrick all by himself. strikers need good service to thrive - torres get fed scraps....the moment he gets 2 half chances, chelsea fans are on his neck that he's dud but if you look at other strikers, they get 5-10 chances per game....united strikers can miss 5 good chances each in a game and one of them would still get a brace or hatrick! And sincerely,do you really think Torres' goal drought is exclusively the fault of his team mates?isn't it obvious? chelsea do not play as a team... look at the pedigree......drogba(the best chelsea striker in the last decade had only 2 stellar seasons in working with fantastic creators and brilliant managers. i reiterate the triumvirate of duff, robben and joe cole packed more heat than MAZACAR have shown this season! |
dayokanu: If Chelsea is the problem how come Torres is also struggling with the Spanish NT.spain's top scorer in 2006 world cup qualifiers spain's top scorer in 2006 world cup euro 2012 top scorer How many goals has Torres scored for the NT since summer 20102010 world cup is the only disappointing tournament he's had and that was because he had a knee surgery few weeks before the competition started - he was unfit for the competition but del bosque took him nonetheless......apart from that, torres has never disappointed his country and he's still the only player to have scored in 2 european championship finals putting away european giants(germany and italy) into his pit latrine! |
kashmo: Hernandez' runs are quite instinctive! I don't expect Torres to exhibit such level of football intelligence. I knew you would reference Berbatov and Ibra which I very much expected, but Torres is devoid of the "touch of genius" you attributed to the aforementioned players! Where Torres wan tey still Berb's graceful touches in the final 3rd, or Ibra's hustle and dazzling close control? Na yam! Post-Liverpool he's become nothing but shyte, a liability, and a wimp lacking confidence to cut it at top level!give us torres and watch us make him the top scorer in the league. chelsea don't play to his strengths like they didn't play to the strengths of other 7 strikers in the past before torres! if you buy romario, falcao, cavani or van persie, chelsea would still struggle to bring the best out of them! |
debosky: Your trend analysis lacks one factor - the current style of Chelski is completely different from the turn of the millennium, hence it is tenuous to compare the Torres of 2012/13 with the strikers of previous years.even the most blinded football fan would tell you robben, duff and joe cole had more verve and panache than the current MAZACAR and they couldn't bring out the best of drogba for 2 seasons and the other strikers @ chelsea back then. kezman and crespo came to chelsea with a good pedigree in the dutch league and the italian league respectively There's no guarantee of performance for any strikers - it depends on many different factors.but 1 in 8 is a poor statistic for a top club like chelsea with fantastic managers like mourinho, ancellotti, scolari, #cough cough# villas-boas and hiddink! Personally I still feel Torres would perform better at Spurs, Arsenal or United - for a combination of reasons it's just not working out for him at the moment at Chelski.i cannot disagree with this statement however, the question remains - what is it about chelsea that strikers fail to perform there? drogba wasn't even a ball of fire in 2 full seasons there with robben and duff supporting him. don't you think chelsea can only thrive with strikers like drogba - put it in the air and let me be a battering ram and bully my markers to score? in a nutshell, why is the blame on torres when this club has consistently failed to produce quality strikers in the past 9 seasons or so? |
OMO IBO: rotflmaobut you know my observation is spot on. hazard got about 6 assists in his first 2 games or so by being brought down in the box with lampard scoring the penalty - i ask, what has this type of assists gotta do with fernando torres? now lemme take you chelsea fans down memory lane with precise analysis.....since the turn of the millennium, chelsea have spent £160m on 8 strikers(crespo, mutu, kezman, drogba, shevchenko, pizarro, anelka and torres). in total, they have all scored 301 goals in 863 matches with each striker costing an average of £20m and each scoring an equivalent of 37 goals in 108 games. only drogba has performed above the striker average! chelsea also took punts in young players(oliveria, forsell, quaresma, cole, borini, kalou and sturridge) - none of these young bloods did something of note so i won't even waste my precious time on them. in raw individual stats: 25 goals in 73 apps - crespo 10 goals in 38 apps - mutu 7 goals in 41 apps - kezman 157 goals in 341 apps - drogba 22 goals in 76 apps - shevchenko 2 goals in 32 apps - pizarro 59 goals in 182 apps - anelka 19 goals in 86 apps - torres if you probe deeper, 4 of these strikers were bought aged 24-26(mutu, kezman, drogba and torres) and the other 4 were bought aged 27-29(anelka, shevchenko, pizarro and crespo) - the question begs, why have all these strikers bar drogba failed @ chelsea? is it a case of poor transfer strategy or the rigid team structure, poor coaching technique or players with no tactical discipline? from the trend above, how sure are chelsea fans that falcao would be an instant success? |
chamotex: And I can bet with you that Fergie wont be making any January acquisitions.i can also bet giggs/scholes would start against city next month. |
BlueDiva: The other strikers didn't even spend time at Chelsea.they did not spend time @ chelsea because they all flopped and were quickly replaced. Our style of play was different.but why should that be? any type of striker should be able to play at chelsea......it simply means hernandez, defoe or alexi sanchez won't make it @ chelsea. only players like lambert, holt, kuyt and walters would do well @ chelsea - it means chelsea lack that finesse to work with nimble strikers who rely on time n space to perfect their art! Now that FT has creative players behind him he still manages to waste his chances.those creative players create for themselves, not for the team! kashmo: I read your post over the years, however, I disagree with you insisting a Striker's job is to tap balls in from 6 yards. One thing you should know about Giroud's game is, he made the right runs almost every time which cannot be said of Torres.in every chelsea game, i see torres raising his hands 2-3 times, free at the far post waiting for a pass that he does not get from his team-mates! the creative players want the glory for themselves. they play for themselves! If Giroud had the composure and confidence he would've amassed double digit in all competition by now. One thing stands though, Torres Lackadaisical approach cannot be excused!berbatov and ibrahimovic are lackadaisical - a player infused with the touch of genius does not need to run himself to the ground to score goals. hernandez does not do a lot rather than running the channels and timing his run to beat the trap! nateevs: Well in typical Chelsea style, as news about Falcao to Chelsea gathers pace, Falcao suffers a little drought.chelsea would have to change their style too to accommodate him..... athletico use a lot of wing play - they variate between 4-2-3-1 and 4-4-1-1 or 4-1-4-1.....they make use of the width of the pitch like the typical united side. with hazard and mata preferring to tuck in, how's chelsea going to get the best out of falcao? |
OMO IBO: Coogar, I see you lurking.i wish chelsea break the bank for falcao in january.... what i have been saying for years would become clearer to chelsea fans. the team lack the clout to create clear cut chances........the ability is there, the talents are there but due to selfishness and the lack of team spirit, strikers have been starved to death @ chelsea! falcao would be lucky to score 12 league goals per season in this team. just so you know, didier drogba completed a season once with only 5 league goals to his name. just 5! he produced similar stat last season but the excuse was that he's old and such was expected! 5 goals in 24 apps(was drogba toast too as far back as 2009?) are chelsea fans expecting too much from a striker whose team has a bad history of ruining it for their forwards? |
BlueDiva: It took you almost 2 years to realize that.i wish united had gotten torres - chelsea do not deserve such a fine striker....think about it, drogba is the only successful chelsea striker in the roman era. in that period, crespo, kezman, shevchenko, pizarro, torres, etc all failed. it even took drogba about 2 full seasons to prove himself and he had only 2 outstanding seasons in 8..... should we also conclude crespo, sheva, pizarro and kezman were weak, not timing their runs, damaged goods, etc? you tools should not be allowed to discuss the weather on a public forum......let alone the dynamics of modern football! kashmo: One question all you Anti-Torres Fan should ask Coogar is, would he swap this great Talent called Torres for van Persie to lead the line in Manchester!if you have been following my post for the last 12 months, you would see i have secretly nursed the ambition of having torres @ united. teams with smart counter attacks like spurs, arsenal and united would suit torres very well..........the job of a striker is to tap in from 6 yards if the support is outstanding.........look at giroud for instance, aren't all his goals simple tap-ins? with walcott, gervinho and cazorla laying it on the plate for him - why would scoring be so hard? it's only in chelsea strikers have difficulty in scoring over the years. |
