These are the things they easily get away with In Caf Club competitions. Sadly, West African sides are yet to win that aspect of psychological warfare against this childish North African style, and Caf is not helping either.
North African teams can be very annoying to play against. I was even surprised that the Moroccan fans didn't take their lasers along with them to the world cup. Very cunning people.

I disagree. Knockout matches are always tense and nervy. Dishing out yellow cards will be too upsetting and may result to brouhaha. That's the mistake Lahoz made in that Argentina-Netherlands match.
Okay, perhaps I exaggerated with the number but they should have received at least five. I saw the Moroccan players going for the ankles and calves of the French players. That's unacceptable.

Concerning the referee that officiated the ARG-NED game, that guy always likes to over-do things. If you watch La Liga frequently, you'll know that that guy get 'skon-skon' for head.

Me wey dey house follow chop yellow card.

just like our players our coaches have zero ambition, nothing stopping a fatai osho or Fidelis from joining a club in Africa to make their cv more beautiful but they’ll rather stay in their comfort zone. Our recently retired players? Those ones are worst, Joseph Yobo was forced to take up a spot in our technical crew he still refused to go for his coaching badges, aside Utaka I don’t know any former player trying to make his name as a coach while other Africans are trying to start a career, Kolo Toure is now Wigan’s coach while his brother Yaya is with Conte at Tottenham , Benny McCarty is Manchester United’s striker coach, Elneny have already started his UEFA coaching course but our players are no where to be found. You see why we’ll either continue to employ 3rd grade foreign coaches or we’ll manage our Amunike like that
Exactly what I've been talking about. I'm glad you understand. The thing is they refuse to accept their gross incompetence and unwillingness to improve. They'd rather go ahead feeling entitled to the head coach role. Their favourite game is to play the racial card by claiming we prefer foreign coaches to them.

The best we can do now is to hope Peseiro gets his shiit together and starts performing well, or else we'll have to go back to square 1.

P.S, you forgot to mention Ladan Bosso and Paul Aigbogun cheesy: Two of the worst local coaches I've ever seen.

we can’t set standard, we don’t have the funds for it
Lol, funds have never been the issue.

All it took for Morocco to obtain such a standard was for one of theirs i.e a local coach, to win the CAF champions league. That's all it took.

The questions we should be asking ourselves are What are our local coaches doing? How many of
them have taken it upon themselves to educate themselves about the modern game? Why aren't they making giant strides when it comes to continental football? When last did a Nigerian team smell the final of CAF champions league?

I'm sure people will talk about club administration issues but if you cannot handle adversity at club level, is it at National level you'll be able to handle it, especially when you're dealing with a country like Nigeria?

Like I said earlier, we're not ready to improve. When we're ready to do so, we'll know what to do.

Local coaches have levels
Big levels.

What most of our local coaches do is to wait for competent coaches like this to start making waves so they can ride on it and start the 'local coaches are better' conversation, just like they're doing right now. They'll also look for ways to try to cunningly sneak themselves into the job but I can smell their antics from a mile away.

This man won the CAF champions league before getting appointed. We need to start setting standards in this country.

Uptheante:
Something remarkable happened with me on Saturday which I wanna share with y'all.

There's this girl I've been flirting with since I collected her number.
So, I invited her on Saturday to come chill with me in my crib.
Lo and behold, when she eventually came, I offered her soft drinks & some snacks while she was watching a movie playing on my laptop.
After a while, I started touching her & making some moves to seduce her so that I will get my share of her coochie.
The bitch was trying to form for me by insisting that she's tired & hence can't give me the coochie. Meanwhile she was still watching the movie & eating the snacks.
I tried to romance her but she was still adamant.
I got provoked & I told her that she should prepare to start going because I want to go somewhere & I can't leave her in my room while I'm away.
She noticed my changed mood & realised her fucck up.
She tried to play all those feminine shenanigans by talking in a soft/romantic tone but she ended up irritating me the more cos my mind was already made up.
As we were going along the road, I stopped by a shop & I told her to find her way home.
She asked me for tp but I ignored her completely while she stood there pressing her phone.
Incidentally, I met one of my FWB there in the shop & right in her presence, she gave me a warm kiss & I told her (my FWB) to come see me in the evening so we'll continue our nacking.
My FWB giggled at my comment & I noticed the other bitch feeling bad.
I left together with my FWB cos her house is along the road where I'm going.

So far, I've received close to 68 missed calls from the bitch from Saturday evening till now.
Her sms & WhatsApp messages were also ignored by me.
She sent her friend to tell me she's not feeling fine & I simply replied her that I've heard her.

Don't you guys think she's trying to get my attentionhuh
Now this is what I'm talking about cheesy.

You did very well.

you are wrong, very very sef. They are professional footballers besides as the NT coach you are free to call any player that will suite your game plan, unless you are telling me there are no Nigerian footballers that can play the way he wants which will be very laughable. P.S I’m not sold on Amunike himself.
Lol, your answer is already in my second paragraph. I clearly said 'required amount of technical players'. I never said they don't exist.

How many good ball playing and ball carrying defenders do we have? The best right now is Leon Balogun who is probably close to retirement.

How many of our midfielders can play defense splitting passes like Alex Iwobi?

How many of our wingers even know how to cross the ball?

How many of our Goalkeepers are good with the ball at their feet? Is it Uzoho and Maduka?

It seems like you don't know Amuneke's system. It's a purely Spanish brand of football (which I love by the way) with a touch of his own unique ideas.

My point is, you can't turn us into Spain when we don't have Spanish-like players. They're very few.

Amuneke would do excellently well as a club coach where he'll have the time and resources to train and procure his needed players or as the coach of a National Team where the players are already used to his style of play from a young age e.g Spain, Netherlands, e.t.c.

The super eagles doesn't have the clout to attract a proven winner. Enrique or Deschamps or even Steve Cooper will not come here. So you say proven winner, you are not being realistic.

We have to make the most of what we have. Based on qualifications and philosophy, Amunike stands out.

Unless you can suggest the proven winner you want instead of Amunike, you are not really opposing my point but making an imaginary suggestion.
My brother, Nigeria has the clout to attract proven winners. We're bloody fvcking Nigeria for crying out loud. Yes I agree that we've lost our claim as the Giants of Africa but we're no small nation.

What you'll say is that there's an incredible rot in our system, fueled by irredeemable corrupt individuals that only care for their pockets and won't let the 'proven winner' coach do his job.

The only reason someone like Harve Renard for example would reject the Super Eagles job is because of the obvious corruption within the NFF, coupled with their love for owing coaches their salaries but to say Nigeria doesn't have the clout to attract a 'proven winner' coach (perhaps Harve Renard) is false.

I think someone said it here

Focus on mbapoe and leave griezman and see damage done.

I mean, this is a player once sold for 150m
Yeah, a couple of us said so. If you notice, Mbappe is not even trying to attack, he just receives the ball and then passes to the midfielders.

Griezmann is just happy playing close to Dembele, doing one-twos and creating space for others. When he made that assist, no English player was even close to him.

Wetin u dey shack that time?

I’m not sold on Amuneke yet
If it's in knowing the game, Amuneke is definitely up there, especially when it comes to the attacking brand of possessive football(which is my preference).

The problem is that this is the national team and it would be hard to inculcate such tactics with the kind of players we have. We don't have the required amount of technical players for such a system. How many of our players are even in clubs that play such brand of football?

Amuneke is best suited for a club side or a youth based system. That way he'll have enough time with them to teach them his philosophies. That's why he did so well at youth level.

If this was Spain where we had a lot of technical players, I would be the first person to call for Amuneke. Unfortunately we don't have that privilege.

We are comfortable handing the jobs to white journey men but if it is a Nigerian, he should win CAF Champions League.

Amunike deserves the job.

What did Rohr and Peseiro do to merit the job?
Amuneke doesn't deserve jackshittt. Neither did Rohr and Peseiro. I'm a fan of his philosophy but National Team Football is heavily result based. We need a proven winner, a consistent one; either on the local scene or international scene.

Like I said earlier, we're not ready in this country. When we're ready, we'll tell ourselves the truth and the improvement shall begin.

It's important to note that Morocco's coach won the Champions League with a Moroccan club side before he got the job.

Our league needs to be developed and our ex-internationals need to take up local jobs to prove their worth.
Exactly what I said here not too long ago. He won the CAF champions league before he was appointed as the Moroccan National Team Coach.

Our ex-internationals want us to hand the job over to them just because they played for us. How many of them have coached a team to the CAF champions league final let alone winning it?

We need to start setting standards in this country.
