Zizzydex:I laugh. Being an ex-student of the university (English Department, both for undergrad and post grad), I get what you mean. However, there are things you wouldn't know except you are close to the cabals in the institution. I knew when Afolayan got his PhD, and his 'academic party', it's nearly impossible for him to be a Prof in that institution. The dynamics of the institution, the 'we' and 'them' thing is too much, and it promotes sycophancy and mediocrity. The genesis of the problem dates back to pre 2001, when the 'we' (purported owners of the powers that be) set out to root out the them (the stubborn but academically sound set). Anyway, I wish them the best, but I pity Afolayan though. An academic institution ain't for politics but research, teaching and learning. If I were him, I would stay low; he wasn't part of the pre-2001 struggle, so why get entangled? I assume you are an English student. How is the department? |

Hello friends, Please my screening score is only showing my O'level average, while for UTME, it reads 0%. I am a DE candidate and I had upper credit, but there was no score for my DE result. I want to know if there is any DE candidate here whose DE result was scored alongside the O'level result, or all DE candidates have only their O'level score. Help out please! And, the screening form ends tomorrow, Sunday 25th Sept. 2016, according to the information on the school's website. |
