LOL, Nobody means the member has deactivated his NL account.

With about 15.6mpg, its really terrible for any accord. Yours should be at worst 26mpg and at best 34mpg. Though your test method could be bad.

The code you have is very important to your engine running well. A search shows P0340 HONDA - Camshaft Position Sensor 'A' No Signal. Sensor A should specifically mean intake camshaft and I would assume B for exhaust camshaft.

No signal should either be
1. the connector is not plugged well
2. one of the sensor pin is broken or bent
3 wire is cut somewhere
4. Sensor is bad

I suggest you pull out the connector without pressing the release tab. If it comes out the it wasn't plugged well. If it does come out, press the tab and pull out. Inspect the wires and the pins inside the sensor for bending and breakage.

If every thing is fine so far, clear the code and drive to see if it returns. If it does then you have to use a multimeter to probe further.
Gazzuzz, Cardoctor, nas00, Acceptance4, Kingreign, adanny01,
Thanks a lot for your immense contribution.
We figure out that the camshaft positioning code error has been rectified.
Now there is only one code P1157.
Please help as usual

My newly acquired tokunbo accord 2003 lx ivtec 2.4 guzzle fuel; 130km per 20litres

after scanning we learned that it was o2 sensor on the catalytic conveter new one has been instled but still no improvement.
the following has been done;
1. new o2 sensor
2. new air filter
3. new spark plugs (NGK BK6E)
4. Cleaning injectors (they are in good sharp)
currently there is only one code (p0340 camshaft positionin sensor A)
the said Car run smoothly no any form of jerking or hesitation at startup, the temp is at almost half, fans only come when the engine is hot or ac on
the car only done 100k kilometres on odometer.

Oga Gazzuzz, Cardoctor, nas00, Acceptance4, Kingreign, Nobody, adanny01, other Car Gurus pls come to my rescue!

Nb:
no any modification done and the 4 tyres are factory recommended 205/65.

I used to be team toyota before, until I studied honda engines and transmissions closely an realized, they were built to be really solid.
There was a time when my timing belt spoilt unknown to me, i kept trying to start the car until ba3 ran down.
After pushing it tired grin we realised its timing belt!
After replacement nothing has been affected, i used the car for over 1yr before i sell it.
Thanks to Honda Civic .

NB: i was told if it was some car model valves must be affected or the entire engine.
Car Talk › Re: 2003 Toyota Corolla S Vs 2003 Honda Accord by Coolgent(m): 9:10pm On Oct 28, 2016
expee06:
Even though am a bit of a car enthusiast, i have only owned one till date A 2002 HONDA ACCORD, i bought that car at 25(Considering what it entails to feed 3 times a day in this country i considered it a feat then to cough out over a Million Naira to acquire a car).

My Job entails me traveling round the country frequently, Am based in Abuja and having mastered the roads in different parts/regions of the country and their conditions i adopted a pattern that paid off, Each time i had to travel to the Northern part of the Country i did by Road and my 'Baby Boy' was ever reliable, at my beck and call.
To the SE/SS I did by air, Some part of the SW by Road and others especially Lagos by air.

However, i had an accident with my car and it was never the same again after then coupled with my poor maintenance culture, aside Oil Change and a few other minor maintenance work i hardly gave the car any serious attention.

Now, am set to get another car but am torn between these two: 2003 TOYOTA COROLLA S and 2003 HONDA ACCORD.

Checks on different websites and car blogs on the internet tips the Corolla miles ahead of the accord Mileage wise but am still in Love with the Honda Brand and Accord Specifically, haven learned from those Mistakes from my first car i think i won't get my fingers burnt this time around.

To the Gurus in the House, I need Answer to these fews questions:

1. With Proper care and Maintenance would the 2003 Accord otherwise called E.O.D be as reliable as the 'Baby Boy'?

2. How Affordable are replacement parts for E.O.D?

3. How best do i forestall the 'leg pulling out' syndrome?

4. Can the Corolla S with a 1.8 L Engine match up the E.O.D with a 2.4L Engine?

5. Any other information that would be helpful in helping me make the right choice.

Thanks in Anticpation.
Bro if you are looking for Luxury and comfort go for accord ivtec dohc 2.4 2003 , if fuel economy then go for corolla 1.8 2003.

Eod spare parts aint expensive

HotPotato:
Hello house,

I ran a VIN Check on a car, and I observed that the odometer reading from the check was different from what I physically saw on the car, meaning that it was rolled back greatly. Please, is it anything I should worry about, as I'm about to pay for the car.

Thanks.
My Honda civic 2000 has 235000 on odometer and still run like new, the most impressive things about it is ac and better fuel economy.
So in a nutshell maintainance is the key not low mileage

GAZZUZZ:
The vibrations are caused by a faulty idle speed valve if you have clean it and its still not working just have it replaced.

The error code is for a faulty secondary oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 (heater circuit) I'm guessing your car is a 4 cylinder so its the sensor located on the exhaust pipe after the catalyst, check if the harness is connected properly, if it is have it replaced with a brand new one where I'm from it is 10k tokumbor is 5K. After replacing rest and re scan after running the engine for 30mins.

Best of luck
Oga Gazzuzz i need new o2 sensor of honda accord 2.4 ivtec dohc 2003 model.

I don't know that term but I know they of two types which are the shorter one and the longer one.

I have the longer one that is usually passed through the passenger seat which I bought brand new from USA. See it attached below:

I mistakenly bought these two long ones not knowing it was to be one long one and a short one.
Yeah its the one am looking for: the one in catalytic conveter (indomie)
