Nice information. Thanks for the advice. Kindly advice on the effective date of this policy. Will the policy be applied retroactively? I know I sound like a culprit.
CrimeRe: Son Dies Chasing Father’s Kidnappers In Onitsha by coolheed: 10:19pm On Aug 28, 2012
Instead of responding to the main issue of persistent kidnapping in the south-east for us to address, people are abusing and cursing one another. This is just not right. For you to kidnap a fellow human being just to extort money from them or their family members it shows that you are working for the devil or better put, you are one of his numerous registered and accredited contractors.

On the case of the boy that died while trying to rescue the dad, I will say it was impulse that dominated his thoughts and such reflex actions may be uncontrollable. The point is that his blood will hang on the neck of the kidnappers.
BusinessRe: CBN Revokes Licences Of 25 Mortgage Banks by coolheed: 1:46am On Aug 14, 2012
kenbee: What the essence of shooting a dead dog? Think ''All well savings & loans limited'' were non operational some eighteen years back. May be, CBN wants to score some cheap point here.
I think he is not shooting a dead dog here. As a regulator he is just announcing the obituary of the dog so that an ignorant man on the street will not see this dog and start shouting "BINGO".
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Dangote Truck Drivers With HND/BSc: No Respect For Nigerian Graduates by coolheed: 9:54pm On Aug 02, 2012
I have carefully studied responses on this thread and it appears there are two sides - those in support of this driver job thing and those in opposition.
What we fail to realize in our part of the world is that we see employment as a job rather than an opportunity. Albeit, a truck driving job, it presents an opportunity for a visionary, hardworking and smart graduate to create an impact and turn his future around. The way I see this opportunity, I think it may go beyond the truck driving job and even if it is, it should be viewed as an opportunity and not a job.
Have we forgotten that P&G started with selling candles and today it is an empire. I am sure a lot of our people would never take an offer to work in a candle making company.

My conclusion, be visionary and strategic in every decision especially when it relates to marriage and career.
TravelRe: Flying From Lagos To Abuja Through London by coolheed: 6:51pm On Jul 13, 2012
Although it is outrageous it may be true. I know of an organization who came up with a list of approved airlines for their staff on official trip after the sosoliso crash. One of the staff wanted to travel to Cote D'Ivoire and there was no airline on their approved list in Nigeria that flies directly to Cote D'Ivoire. Management then gave an approval that the guy should fly Air France to Paris and enroute Cote D'Ivoire. Is this name similar to the Lagos-London-Abuja route.

My conclusion, we have fundamental issues that we need to address as a nation, we can't continue this way. It is just not sustainable.

Car TalkRe: What Happens To The Petrol In Your Car With Mechanics? by coolheed: 10:17pm On Jun 15, 2012
Don't you guys think the mechanics may be testing whether the fuel gauge is working so that they can rope your former mechanic or the car manufacturer. Does this sound familiar compared to the latest news in town.

TV/MoviesRe: Have You Seen The New Coca Cola Advert? It Insults Africans by coolheed: 6:03pm On Jun 11, 2012
There is something called PERSPECTIVES. It is like the description of an elephant by 10 blind men who described the elephant based on the part of the elephant that is been touched. While some say it has rough edges, others say it is as smooth as anything. This advert may mean different things to different people at different circumstances. But one thing is certain, the maker of Coca Cola will definitely have to market his products using emotional stunts that will appeal to the masses. It is just unfortunate that there are BIGGER issues confronting us as nations in Africa and they are so BIG that they can make a Coca Cola drink taste sour.
SportsRe: Official French Open ( Rolland Garros ) 2012 Thread by coolheed: 3:03pm On Jun 10, 2012
Interesting game: you can never write-off any of the 2 players in a grand slam final. This is just the beginning of a history that will soon be written. We are watching oooo.
SportsRe: Mikel: I’m Ready To Help Retired Players by coolheed: 3:44pm On Jun 08, 2012
This is noble, exemplary and captivating. Giving back to the society is one of the virtues of people who are keen to living a fulfilling life. People that feel sad when neighbors sleep with empty stomach and when ex-colleagues wallow in poverty and havelessness. The hand of the giver is always on top.
On the issue of the venue, I support the use of the civic centre in as much as this does not jeopardize the objective of the scheme. We need to be careful not to risk the life o this guy as the security situation if this country requires even philanthropists to carefully choose where they travel to.
