kindabigg: Among The Ibos Of Nigeria, GT Basden, London, Seeley, Service & Co, 1921
…The appearance of a crowd of carriers, with their spare frames, spindle-legs and cucumber calves, often prompts the thought that the men must have recently experienced a period of famine. On the western side this is not the case. There the people are shorter and are of a stocky, thick-set build. They are disposed to be lazy yet they are passionate, and of a rash and fiery temperament, the result probably of an over-abundant supply of rich food……The shape of the skull repeats itself with astonishing regularity, this pecularity, perhaps, being accounted for by the process of moulding the shape of the head during infancy……Every town, and, incidentally, every family or household, stands by itself. There is no combination between town and town. Although speaking the same language, and in times of peace intermarrying with one another, the nearest neighbours are still regarded as strangers, e.g., the people of Onitsha and those of Opusi do not reckon themselves as of one tribe, though a distance of less than five miles separates the two towns. See oyinboman describing ibo head......

finniblinks: Yorubas Are Jealous of Ndi-Igbo because we are more successful and build Mansions on their Lands. "Typically, an Igbo comes to a place like Lagos for example with an almost empty bag. He starts with a kind of menial job. After some time, he puts a kiosk somewhere, and in not too long a time, he builds a mansion and stays in front of his mansion exuding apparently more confidence than the original owners of the land. What do you think the original owners of the land will do? How would they feel? They will feel resentment. I tell my people, ‘look they are not resenting you, but they are comparing you with themselves. They get annoyed with you and start being jealous of you. If in addition to your success, you talk about your achievements with pride, like a typical Anambra man will do, that will make the host community even more resentful and jealous" ---- Chukwuemeka Ezeife (former governor of Anambra state) I guess this is the story your brothers.....tell you when they come to the village ...... ....bunch of lying dreamers....... ....maybe from armed robbery that they're known for..... |

zendy: Ojukwu a coward? A man who took on the Northern oligarcgy, A man who fearlessly fought the might of Nigerian Army for 3 years? Who else do you know in Nigeria can do what Ojukwu did? The Only reason you call Ojukwu a coward is because he left Biafra two days before it collapsed. What would have been the point of him staying back to be slaughtered over a war that was almost at an end? Ojukwu was a lot of things but he was no coward at all. If you know about Ojukwus exploits in the Congo war, you would know what I mean. France supported Biafra but in a limited way. It was nowhere near the level of support that Britain gave Nigeria. The only reason Nigeria succeeded in that war was because of the British warships which enforced a blockade that prevented Ojukwu from importing arms and ammunition, essential supplies and food necessary for the war. If Britain had remained neutral, it would have been a different story. Should there be another war, this time, we are also going to use both gurreilla and conventional tactics, there won't be any frontline. It's the Nigerian Army that will later run away. If this so called 'Nigeria' is ready to kill millions in other to carry on this fraud of a nation, it will be clear that justice is on the side of Igbos for wanting Biafra Chei....chai.......chei.....you people just tell clear lies.....for SS oil and access to sea .....which ojukwu exploits in Congo......'edumacate' me please...... |

meccuno: not to be disrespectful to your. Tribe but the country in south america you are talking about is brazil.....the yorubas there were there as a result of slave trade not necessarily because the yorubas travel a lot.......I think the UK and ireland are the countries were the yorubas have a sizeable population compared to the igbos.....in SA, igbos are more, togo, cameroun, angola, ghana igbos are more than the yorubas........in the US, I doubt if the yourubas are more because texas has a very huge population of igbos.......igbos are in germany,china,taiwan,malaysia.....back in the days, igbos were headed in the direction of holland and belgium but I doubt if they still go there en mass.....they prefer asia particularly for business cause of cheap labour and production.......these are the ones I know.......maybe there are others.....but most importantly, igbos are the largest population second to the indigenous population of most states in Nigeria..........whether the yorubas feel theirs is the best is not the issue, but to the fact that right before the war and even after, igbos have always been people who move a lot...... Least I forget, igbos have a sizeable population in israel........I know a couple of dudes there.......I know the igbos brag which I see nothing wrong with that might be excessive at times, but when they say they travel more than the yorubas, its not about chest beating, its about facts....am not a tribal dude. And I don't need any insult. Just stated the obvious.....but if you as a yoruba person disapproves, we could start with Nigeria. From the first to the last states then when through, we go and check african states if not enough then we go international........... Ehennnnnn....this is better...... ....for the first time in a long time.....I actually read a truthful ibo....... ....I agree with all you have written but disagree with your inclusion of Ghana and Togo (Yoruba is spoken in parts of Togo) ........on America.......apart from Houston.......most others like NYC...DC....Atlanta etc have more Yorubas......... Another thing to note is that Yorubas don't rate many of those other places you mentioned like Taiwan....Malaysia...etc...but .....I agree you are not a tribalised person as you are mostly honest.... |

In that same fruitful land of yours You pay rent to papa emeka, you go to the market and still beg ugochukwu to sale for a cheaper rate to you, you beg odinaka to help offload the goods in his container to a warehouse, my question is this, why is it that someone chased by whatever from his erosion village still comes to your dubai states and make you his servant?? its laziness, yes laziness.
