hornyofife: even at that, there are modern multi-storey buildings within the ogbete market picture of enugu
compare it to that of ibadan which is a residential quarters and the size also. that of ibadan will make up for three local governments in igbo land lolz.
dont forget also that housing is a yardstick to measure standard of living and poverty.
that is why some of them in their shameless defense always claim those pictures of owerri, aba, ontisha, awka, enugu and other igbo cities we post here on niaraland are GRAs in igboland. which exposes their backwardness and level of ignorance. oh my God ibadead is even better off imagined the real images really potray abject poverty and hunger in the land. I am sure nothing comes this close to poverty index anywhere in Africa, oh now i understand why they want igbos to remain in Nigeria. |

Basic123: lolz..your claim, bragging, chestbeating you are known for are not necessary, relevant and important, you can even claim, brag and chest beat that you imported london to igboland. But this picture speaks volume. what chest beating was I the Lagos governor that said Igbo's have 60% real estate in Lagos or am I the Oba of Lagos that confirmed that Lagos is not yorubaland or is it now my fault that I came to Lagos with one Nylon bag like many other Igbo brothers and now own mansions in the city and even buying up Afonja ancestral homes thereby forcing them to live on the lagoon or sea shores like fishermen Afonja ronu

Basic123: Every city or town in nigeria has brown roof!!!!......The igbos just hate ibadan out of envy and jealousy. The bigger the city in nigeria ,the bigger the brown roof.I guess this part of enugu is part of Ibadan. olodo the picture you posted is that of a open market, were you expecting them to use long span aluminum sheets of a open market. Afonja. |
Politics › Re: Ibadan Land Of Brown Roofs; Glory Of The Grey Haired by Coolitempq: 9:31am On May 05, 2017 |
Op, let me state here that it is not only Ibadan that has brown roofs, All SW States in Nigeria and Yoruba settlements in Lagos have brown roofs, it will also be important to note that Yorubas till this very day still build with zinc sheets in their cities and villages even in Lagos, that is why you can only find Yorubas selling second hand zinc roofing sheets is that one too a sign of wealth. Op I need answers. |
Politics › Re: Ibadan Land Of Brown Roofs; Glory Of The Grey Haired by Coolitempq: 9:24am On May 05, 2017 |
Op I get am before no be property, Secondly Igbo's don't sell their family or ancestral lands, it is Yorubas that do this, so if that is you standard for measuring respect you have to review respect in Yoruba land cause we all know that it is not Igbo's that sold all the Yoruba lands in Lagos and ogun state instead Igbo buy them or is it disrespectful to buy them too. Third, your post goes to show you have never been to the SE, or Igboland because in igboland, when you enter any family compound you see the house built by the Son, father and grandfather all standing there, in most cases tenants are put either the father or grandfathers house to take care of the compound when the family travels to their various states or countries of residence. Than again stop all the lies of wealth blah blah blah, or children out of respect not destroying those homes because their parents live there, MR OP do you think you are talking to people who have not set foot in Ibadan? Now let me correct your lies, those house in Ibadan have no streets no compounds no drainage, no toilet facilities, many of them are bungalows and worst of all they are not built on up too a quarter plot of land with foot paths connecting each together, so tell me how a standard building can enter such. The only solution is for the government to demolish all those eyesore and map the area out for real estate and sell them off. |

9jakool: I didn't care until you brought Afonja into the matter. You borrowed the culture and there is no problem with that. Nsibidi has no meaning in Igbo. However, it has a meaning among the Ejagham which you borrowed it from. The traditions you listed were all borrowed from the Cross river people. It's alright, just an example of cultural diffusion. In the Western axis you have Igbos who have adopted some Benin culture. It's a shared culture, however it's still borrowed nonetheless. borrowed or not it has become part of our culture like some of ours have become theirs too.. so don't kill yourself over petty issues mr. afonja |

googi: Thank you, you have now gone from Igbo invention to shared writing.
The insibidi speakers and writers spoke before they wrote. That credit of sharing with their neighbors in Nigeria does not give Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba neighbors they shared it with, sole claim.
FYI, fattening is not peculiar to Aqua-Cross alone. In Onitsha we have Yoruba and Edo speakers blending into Igbo.
I was equally surprised at the relationship of Aqua-Cross with Hausa until Attah became a governor. Should Hausa claim him solely as theirs?
Children of IgboUkwu that existed before Europe and America are today clinging to new world as Jews. People that immigrated from Europe recently.
May the God of Africa cure our complex, the rejection and choice of our neighbors. Engaging you will be a total waste of my time, in as much as i would have love to educate you, you sound too dumb to understand anything, first what is aqua-cross? do you even know what the fattening tradition i was referring to is? and why state that it is not peculiar to akwa-cross alone when i already mentioned people whom practice same tradition with them? show me where igbo ever claimed invention of Nsibidi? igbos only proudly promote it. and hey you little man of low self esteem who sinks with the mud, no one is claiming nsibidi instead it is been promoted and credit duly given to the originators. so Mr OP i hope you see why i cant engage you in foolery numbskull |
Culture › Re: Nsibidi Is Not Igbo by Coolitempq: 3:22pm On May 04, 2017 |
googi: Isibidi speakers may be related to Igbo just as they are related to cousins South and North around them. But to completely hijack it by non-speakers is the same as calling Ijaw Igbo, Edo Igbo, Lagos Igbo, Abuja Igbo.
When will we stop claiming credits that belong to others for ourselves whether you are Fulani, Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo?
Minorities deserve their own credits as Efik or Ibibio. Olodo OP the Nsibidi is a writing system and not a spoken language Olodo op don't worry Igbo matter will soon give you HBP and lay your poor soul to rest maybe then we can have some sort of peace on nairaland, Op death is calling you. Pick your call |
Culture › Re: Nsibidi Is Not Igbo by Coolitempq: 2:57pm On May 04, 2017*. Modified: 3:21pm On May 04, 2017 |
Many Igbo communities bordering Akwacross and within Present day IMO and Abia like Aro, Ohafia etc practice the Leopard cult system, fattening room culture as well as the nsibidi writing. These are shared culture between both groups. Op don't die just yet cause, Igbo's still have more surprises cooking with the nsibidi cause they are taking advanced steps to make it more intelligible. so try again with your hate... the nsibidi is just one of several other shared culture. Many Afonjas today wear and claim the agbada which they have no links or connections with and you don't see any one crying about it, so why cry when Igbo is trying to promote a shared culture between them and the Akwacross region. |

No one is holding you from running away from your cursed land. SW is like London to you animals, reason you cant feed without coming there. They didnt move to a new location, they ran back to your cursed land to start baby factory business. Just last week, more than 5 Iboes caught at the airport said they are smuggling cocaine cos they were chased away from Lagos and had to find a means to survive. You and your miserable kinsmen were on nairaland crying and beating your chest on how you going to banish Ambode from Sadbeast land, but you all simply returned the nexr day to SW cos you all have no shame.
You are disadvantaged in everything reason you are crying biafra, no beefra for you. Protest and see more people get killed, you were shared equally to all tribes that day you were defeated and begged to come back to Nigeria. Lol No we simply come to lagos because it is the FCT we know afonja there is nothing you can do about that other than rant day and night Afonja Ntor |
