Therock5555:If I remember correctly, there are 3 places in the bible where the Lord asks us to be obedient to our parents. In 2 of those places, just immediately after, it tells parents not to provoke their children to anger |
Therock5555:Your father is the wrong one. It is written in the Bible, Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. It is also written there... Fathers, provoke not thy children to anger. Go and check it out. I wonder what your age is. If you are soon going to graduate, just patiently wait till you get a job and go for service. Once you get a source of income on account of which you can afford not to come home anymore if you so choose, then... Lay hold on the life you thus find |
dialfa:Have you heard of the term, Grandeur Mirage? |
dialfa:I actually think in terms of societal sophistication, Igbos are the minority. I mean if the white man had to come and install warrant cheifs for him, that tells a lot. The Igbos have just had the loudest mouths. A reflection of less caution and reflection before speech (or action) |
dialfa: EternalTruths:We did not sign an agreement with FG so we should agree to the delusions of any disorganised people. Okay. You too did not sign any agreement with the FG before becoming Nigeria. We therefore declare you all Ijaws |
otr1:They take their profits only after spending what it takes to be profitable in Nigeria 1) salary for workers 2) generators 3) fuel/diesiel 4) suppliers of materials 5) furniture 6) Radio averts 7) TV adverts 8 ) newspaper Adverts 9) etc, etc. All that cost of doing business in Nigeria goes directly into Nigerian hands. |
Alphaoscar:Do you realise you have jumped to defend Tinubu when no one was attacking him. She said Tinubu came to see them 3 times (and they approved for him on merit). In fact, she basically said he deserved to be awarded the contract. farem:That statement is wrong. If it was so, how come it is coming as news to us? There are only 5 Igbo states. It is true that state political boundries were not made along ethnic lines it is only for that reason that Igbo-speaking communities spill over into their neighbouring non-igbo states. I think this is so apparent and goes without saying. It only happens to be that these states share boundaries with igbos who have not yet overcome their seeming innate knack for making false claims fueled by their tendency to inordinately desire another man's property |
pryme:Super |
Kyase:Point of correction, we have no Ohanaeze in rivers state. We have kings whose seats of power are centuries old. Rivers Ijaw kings are reffered to as Amanyanabo (literally translated to mean "he who owns the land/kindom/territory) |
Daminaj2:I don't know any of them. Only Munachi Abbey sounds familiar. I think they are probably actresses |
viktagorion:Please don't insult the south-south like that. Jonathan is not an Igbo man and does not have the bereft-of-wisdom thinking that the Igbos have. It is the PDP that lost. Yes, Igbos supported Jonathan but they have clearly negatively differentiated themselves from Ijaws by proudly going about on a campaign they should be ashamed of. Please, please, please. Let the folly of the easterners lie with them |

SonOfEl:I have quoted a researched academic work. This things are well known. I feel certain there are other sources as you can see McCall, John Christensen also quoted the works he researched while getting his info (the way humans do things nowadays). But you have quoted absolutely nowhere but out your head. How can anyone take you seriously? And I noticed in quoting me, you altered what I initially typed. I don't know if that is a mistake on your part or not. But if it is not a mistake, that is actually fraud. https://books.google.com.ng/books?id=hHTE0UWRdLQC&pg=PA75&lpg=PA75&dq=ohafia+men+building+port+harcourt&source=bl&ots=RtlEh3sotc&sig=UtF0TF-xmqgdPcd83cFM2bR1pOA&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=ohafia%20men%20building%20port%20harcourt&f=false

Politicos:No, they have not |
EdCure:Please ignore them and let our thread continue. I am very delighted about this thread. Now I shall slowly and carefully put out all the information I can muster the effort and time to put out here. There is a definite path to self-sustenance for the region. We have the resources. And by resources, I don't just mean oil. You don't know how much damage the existence of this thread does to them. And perhaps you don't know how much more damage they feel when you ignore them. On all other threads, I reply away, making anyone who mentions me not to want to do it again if they come attacking and are in the wrong But on this thread, I have resolved to reply all such igbo derailers with perhaps only one word, "Ignored" |

Politicos:Just ignore him and let our thread continue. I have refrained from mentioning where I come from in Rivers State because I know the igbos who inquire only want to carry out their bereft-of-intellect mudslinging that somehow satisfies them. You know how they feel they win a yoruba person in an argument by saying "Oil Soup!". SMH |
SonOfEl:Now I lay down here (in sequence) the write-up from page 74-75 as is related to this topic First the link: https://books.google.com.ng/books?id=hHTE0UWRdLQC&pg=PA74&lpg=PA74&dq=underlying+the+practice+of+head-taking+was+a+fundamenta&source=bl&ots=RtlEiZvnue&sig=XlWkoq7VSWVYk0f8oMLLeWIpBH0&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=underlying%20the%20practice%20of%20head-taking%20was%20a%20fundamenta&f=false Then screenshots of the pages you find on the link:

SonOfEl: I have come to the conclusion that speech powered by empty ignorance is in your system. Sorry I have to be harsh while putting you straight here. The only place you researched is your imagination. In his book Dancing Histories: Heuristic Ethnography with the Ohafia Igbo John Mac Call writes how this played out. I have included a source here: McCall, John Christensen (2000). Dancing histories: heuristic ethnography with the Ohafia Igbo. University of Michigan Press. p. 75. ISBN 0-472-11070-5. https://books.google.com.ng/books?id=hHTE0UWRdLQC&pg=PA75&lpg=PA75&dq=ohafia+men+building+port+harcourt&source=bl&ots=RtlEh3sotc&sig=UtF0TF-xmqgdPcd83cFM2bR1pOA&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=ohafia%20men%20building%20port%20harcourt&f=false The link above leads to the exact page in the book, archived by google. Why do you insist on branding yourself this way, with empty and unresearched declarations? I have attached a screenshot below of what you will find when you click on that link. More interesting is what you will find when you scroll up to the preceding page (page 74) in that work.

SonOfEl:I am trying to explain to you why you do not understand the traditional structure and place of chiefs and elders in Rivers State, trying to show you that it is because you did not even have chiefs in your own culture. So that kind of people organisation is beyond the reach of your mind. You do not have any respect for traditional chiefs/elders because even the chiefs you have, it was the white man who came and installed them for you. As for Oyibo, on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, I personally think it should be classified as Igbo but I refrain from talking about that most times because the people there denounce Igbos and I know that is not my problem. Finally, everyone knows Port Harcourt was built by the British and that is spans across several ethnic groups, the Ikweres, Okrikas, and Ogonis mainly. When the British brought in labourers from Ohafia to work on the railroad they were building in Port Harcourt, Ohafians began referring to the place where the British were taking their sons to work as Ụ́gwụ́ Ọ́chá meaning Hill of the white man. How does that make Ikwere land, Okrika and Ogini yours? Did your fathers live and die there? If they did, where are their burial sites? Now you brazenly try to steal in daylight, and everybody is seeing you and you have no shame about it. As other people (Tivi, Boko, Efik, Igala and all the other Nigerian tribes) read this thread on Nairaland don't you think their impression of you as thieves is getting more and more concretized in their minds? All this boils down to the non-nation that Igbos were in the past. Only clans and villages. No chiefs, just fragmented communities bringing the social structure deficiencies of the past to smear on your modern day image I am Rivers Ijaw www.nairaland.com/attachments/3075604_igbowarrantchiefs_jpeg2a9b96f1f9f9e9ba21e154fabca84b13 |
Below is a screenshot from the page again, so we all can see.
|
SonOfEl:Please, because Igbos have a long history of speaking uninformed does not mean that other people have that same problem . I know you are used to gusto-filled speech, equally filled with ignorance. It is a place you come from Now read the page below and get a little upgraded. http://what-when-how.com/western-colonialism/warrant-chiefs-africa-western-colonialism/ To even make it easier, I have attached below a screenshot of the page You see, you come from an inferiorly developed society. No one can go back and change yesterday but instead of you folks to use today to create a better history for you children tomorrow, you just grossly misbehave, allowing the deficit in cultural structure of yesterday jeopardise the diplomatic advancement opportunities presented by today. cramjones:I believe everyone knows brown rice is more nutritious than its foreign counterpart. I believe Ben Murray Bruce knows this and it is not him who made us years ago to start placing more value on foreign rice. I believe the popularisation of the local rice is good because it gets people more aware (that it is better and even cheaper) I believe the fact that we are even having this discourse are some of the success medals that such a media stunt as the eating of that rice in public has brought about. The greater the public awareness, the better |
Xpaz:Are you afraid of going to bed before me? Will it make you feel smaller? ![]() |
Xpaz:I'm Ijaw. And Thank you for insisting on illustrating to us all the depths of your intellect as you confidently try to wish people into coming from tribes that suit your imaginations |
Eastlink:Okay |
Xpaz:Although I am not a kid, I see nothing wrong in being a kid. What is really terrible and I can't stand is being like you, Igbo one ![]() And because I am not like you, I am truly grateful, Igbo one ![]() |
Xpaz:Please, do Igbo one ![]() |
Xpaz:Thank you for also showing us all the depths of your intellect as you confidently try to wish other people into coming from tribes that suit your imaginations |
Xpaz:Thank you for showing us that the elders of Biafra land enjoy no respect in Biafra. Little to no respect from younger to older (even elders) in Igbo society. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of Elders of Rivers State, whose respect remains intact especially in traditional matters as they declare the position of their people on traditional issues like this. Their well crafted people-powered authority is real and spans centuries. If they come to any serious decision, it means the people have spoken. Anyway, we can all see the kind of respect you Igbos bestow on your elders. |
