theDEVILisHERE: Biafra movement is not ment for elders It is ment for the young
These so called elders all deserve to be brought in front of the public and shoot to death
They are nothing but a disgrace to themselves, their children and anyone associated with them
Any young person still listening to these elders deserve to live a miserable life Thank you for showing us that the elders of Biafra land enjoy no respect in Biafra. Little to no respect from younger to older (even elders) in Igbo society.Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of Elders of Rivers State, whose respect remains intact especially in traditional matters as they declare the position of their people on traditional issues like this. The traditional leadership system was not instituted by the white man (as he did in Igbo land because he wanted his indirect rule to work) and it has spanned over hundreds of years |

So no one gave you the right to call a true son of the land an imposter, if you followed it up and came to that decision then your mind had only grasped a one sided story of my land.

RisingSun1: Who made these people elders?
I can recall that the first city that started this protest was PH last month. The first PH protest was done by Rivers IPOB no outside help.
It was due to heavy clampdown by security agencies in Rivers not to stage another protest that Rivers IPOB had to call in members from neighbouring states for assistance.
These must be Rivers APC elders, because many rivers indigenes are in detention because of this protest while these socalled elders are here talking rubbish.
If all the people in this pic are from other state, then where are the Rivers indigenes in the streets of Port Hartcourt? When you say "Who made these people elders" it just gives us all an insight into how much you Igbos respect your elders in Igbo land. And obviously, you think others are rif raffy like that. We understand that the current chieftaincy system in Igbo land was establish by the white man to help him execute indirect rule. No wonder you do not have any modern day representation of ancient traditional LEADERSHIP. No wonder you cannot appreciate that others (eg rivers ijaws) have it differently - that the office of our elders and the traditional stools are centuries old. Clearly, Igbos do not respect their elders and that is why their elders say one thing (telling them to stop the agitations) and they do another. The concept of traditional authority well crafted and managed over centuries is beyond the grasp of your minds. But it is good all this is happening in public for all to see. Tomorrow, you cannot convince anyone you have any respect for your traditional elders (when it comes to traditional/ethnic matters) |

Udmaster: stop spreading fallacy. IGBOS have a proud history of established kingdoms and leadership. Go and read about Ancient Aro Kingdom, Nnewi, Nri(the oldest kingdom in Nigeria), Ngwa, Aguleri etc the main Igbo title to honour great men is Ozo, Nze, Obi etc. Our IGBO UKWU Civilization is the Second Oldest after the Nok. The only difference is that Igbos were republicans in nature who ruled themselves mainly by Clans, but We are Culturally The Same. That is why Indirect Rule Failed in the Eastern Nigeria. IGBO IS IGBO whether in SE,SS, Benue, Kogi, Calabar etc and Lastly, Igbos Voted For ur Ijaw Son GEJ because we believed in his administration and his policies which was not marginalizing for Igbos unlike OBJ, and we are in a democratic era. I didn't spread fallacy. I only asked a few questions you or any Yoruba, Tivi, Boko, Ijaw or Hausa person can go research. 1) At what point in history did Igbos know the area covered by Igbo land (Igbo-speaking people) 2) At what point in history did other kingdoms of the south south map out their territory? 3) When was the ancient Igbo military constituted? 4) What war did they fight and over what? Obiagu1: People get wiser as they grow old. If there's any growth intellectually in the SS, they should have learnt one thing or another from Nigeria and dangers the future portends.
You have asked for resource control for over how many years now, asking from people that should not, in the first place, be in control of your destiny and your resources.
Unfortunately, there seem to be no wisdom in the SS. How many of them know how long Nigerian oil are meant to last? If they do, they will know they don't have time. It's either they make full use of their resources now or suffer down the line.
You are asking for 30% from an Hausa man when you can get 100% from Biafra. There's no wisdom, there is none. Coming from an Igbo who seems not to be aware the rest of Nigeria has concluded Igbos have no sense |

Udmaster: Just imagine minorities trying insult the Great IGBOS because of Nnamdi Kanu and his followers. The majority tribes in Nigeria are IGBOS, Yoruba, Hausa. We are a Majority Nation and should behave like one. I have written something on NL before on why in the South, Igbos might be a majority in numbers but in terms of civilisation, they are one of the minor minorities and this is shown by the actions of Igbos. This is not meant to insult. I know Igbo parents have told their kids great things about the Igbo people/nation. But it is only true (and naked) self-assessment that can make one come face to face (in reality) with the things he needs to know to improve himself and get better.
To avoid sounding antagonistic, I will only ask a few questions, the answers to which you may go on you own to find out.
1) At what point in history did Igbos know the area covered by Igbo land (Igbo-speaking people) 2) At what point in history did other kingdoms of the south south map out their territory? 3) When was the ancient Igbo military constituted? 4) What war did they fight and over what? Investigating these questions will explain to anyone the Igbo man's present day diplomatic state, skill and capital. It all comes down to things that have been established (or absent) by history. |

obailala: Absolutely!
The Ipob sect guys are just nothing but disgruntled jonathanians and they've never failed too hide it. THe nnamdi guy has never failed to hide his hatred for anything APC and has called on and threatened his followers on several occasions to vote only PDP. I recently watched the video of the protest at the Nigerian embassy in Japan, they continually referred to Buhari as a paedophile terrorist president who has been killing Igbo women and children. They also claim that Nigeria was under a democracy when GEJ was in power but that we stopped practising a democracy from the second PMB took over; such glaring hypocrisy.
Its just too obvious that all these agitations and noise is just an expression of hatred towards Buhari for daring to win GEJ in a democratic election (not even through a coup). Never in my life have I seen such childish tantrums coming from full grown adults. I find it very depressing whenever I go online and see these multitude of lost souls bringing ridicule to my great tribe and also fuelling needless hatred and enmity This is not quite the case. I believe you do not live anywhere in the SE or SS If you lived in the SS you will understand the people (SE Igbos) very well. It is a continuation of an innate inferiority complex. They supported GEJ because he was SS just because it made them feel a sense of power (by proxy). Since GEJ came from the SS, they adopted him as their own. They liked the idea or him being accepted as Nigerian president as a precursor to Nigerians accepting the idea of an Igbo man as a president because believe it or not, they already know how unattractive an Igbo man as a presidential candidate is to the generality of the Nigerian populace. So GEJ loosing the election the way he did (when they wanted him to win) just infuriated them. Believe it or not, they firmly believed that after GEJ, it would be an Igbo man in 2019. So GEJ losing the way he did impressed in their minds that there was no hope for this hoped acceptance of a president of Igbo extraction. This happened to them in both a conscious and subconscious level. There is hardly any election season in which agitations for Biafra and an Igbo presidency does not increase together. Oh yes, if GEJ had not lost they would not be protesting now. But the implication of his loss was more devastating to their political calculations than to any other group of people. That is why they are even more grieved than the south-south whose son actually lost the elections. Sadly, this is not the way to go about it. These agitations do not earn them any diplomatic capital (like most of the actions they are proud about). To be honest, it is my view that Igbos have been earnestly involved in diplomatic self-amputation over the years. I am Rivers Ijaw based in Rivers state |

olapluto: I am super convinced that the Biafra agitators of today are the remnants of PDP supporters in the SE. These people were religious in their support for GEJ out of hatred for hausas. It is a Biafra agitation driven by bigotry. I listened to some Radiobiafra broadcast, and the hatred was glaring. Yesterday, in India and Japan, IPOB folks were adamantly referring to Buhari as a paedo. To me, that is their main issue. Biafra is just a means to and end, a soothening cause to remain relevant after the whole of Nigeria rejected an under-performing president. This is not quite the case. I know from what you have said here that you live either in the West, the North or the Middle-belt. If you lived in the SS you will understand the people (SE Igbos) very well. IGBOS are Not Troublemakers, We are peaceful in nature, and have lived, intermarried and intertraded with our Neighbours(Ijaws, Ibibios etc) for years. Do NOT use the activity of Nnamdi Kanu and his followers to judge a whole IGBO NATION! Nnamdi Azikiwe played a part in creating this nation and we will stay and fight for our rights. Igbo Lands have been balkanized, some Igboid groups have denied being Igbo due to the stigma effect of the civil war, The Ohanaeze NdiIgbo should stand up and draw a plan on how to unite the Igbo People both in SE and SS even in Benue, Kogi, TOGETHER and they also build a political bridge with other part of the country inorder to produce a President of Igbo Extraction! I will NOT sit down and watch Nnamdi Kanu Activites attract insults to the Noble Igbos, what about our Investments in the North and South West? Are we going to forfeit them? Why including Ijaws, Itsekiris etc in his map without consulting them to know their opinion? The protesters have continuously marched in PH/South South, a territory you wanna let us know is not home to them, without a rival group challenging them.
Till now, neither the Ijaw National council nor the Ogbakor Ikwerre has made a statement concerning the protests. Even the last time the police made a random arrest in PH, most of the arrestees were native Igbo speaking Rivers indigenes, Ibibios and Kalabari persons.

Chiwude: Barcanista's fears is the fears of many Ijaws. They want resource control, but deep in their hearts they know its not achievable. Not now and not under a northern led government. The call for SNC is nothing but a mirage. Jonathan had all the time to implement it, yet he threw it to the wind. As long as the north liveth Nigeria will never be restructured. Even if they suddenly succumb, it will be based solely on their terms and conditions. Their terms alone. Then that will amount to slavery part 2. The Ijaws should be left alone to decide what they want for themselves. Them and their kits. A Niger-Delta republic shall serve them well. This has been my sermon to many Pro-Biafran youths here on nairaland. However, the idea of always including Igboid tribes of the S/S into that republic is absurd and distasteful. The Ikwerres and other groups don't share the same destiny with the Ijaws. The ideology of the two runs differently. So Barcanista your wish shall be granted, the same with your brother Truckpusher. Fight for what belongs to your people, why we fight for what belongs to ours. In essence, we will ring the bell to discerning IPOB dudes not to drag unwilling Ijaws groups into their map, why you also refrain from adding our own brothers into your plans. I am Rivers Ijaw and whereas I always thought some parts of Rivers State academically should be classified as Igbo (Ikwere and especially Etche and Omuma) they (Especially Ikwere) claim not to be Igbos so I tend to leave that alone. I am Rivers Ijaw and not on any side of that argument. But I will say that if they choose to cast their lot with Rivers State and expunge all connections with Igbo, then so be it (in the spirit of self-determination). I however must mention that the Ikweres vary from the Igbos to a greater degree than the people of Omuma and Etche and significant among these differences is the difference in method of thinking |

Do you think all Black Americans supported Martin Luther King Jr when he was fighting for black libration in the USA? Do you think all Indians were behind Ghandi when he was fighting the British from his south African base? When Moses went to Egypt to preach Pharaoh let my people go, their suffering in Egypt was increased and Israelites courses Moses for the hardship he brought upon them by approaching pharaoh. But some months later, the same Israelites were singing and dancing across the red sea.
Bros always remember this word "the distance between insanity and ingenuity is only measured with time" - Sirnoel In every struggle like Biafran struggle, the agitators are always seen as mad people, but if they eventually succeed they are called geniuses. Today we celebrate Mandela, Quote Luther and use Ghandi to teach others...
If Biafra should be making this wave 45 years after Nigeria hasbeen working hard to remove it from people mind, that should be a pointer, that this struggle can never be quenched by any form of intimidation...
So forget about never do well or whatever your mind is telling you... The problem with your post is that while not everyone agreed with these people you have mentioned here, they were not seen as intellectually bereft, which the the great void between the arguments they made for themselves and the ones upon which your agitations are based, make you seem. |

tonytony208: Do you still want to carry gun? OK, carry gun and start fighting. This time around, the midwest will not be neutral. I see the Niger bridge as the first victim of the war. I see ogoja and port Harcourt falling at the early part of fighting, followed by nsukka. I see Nigeria changing her currency again and I see Britain desiring to keep Nigeria together to satisfy their own selfish goal. It is 1967 to 1970 all over again. Where will you stand, where will your family stand? What will feed you? Don't expect nnamadi Kanu to participate in your war; he would be far away in Europe with his family. To assume that PH will be in the war just shows you do not know nigeria. An uncle of mine (not related by blood) who is from Bonny fought as a Nigerian soldier against the biafran soldiers. He is old right now and has been a pastor for many many years. The innate desire to steal made some igbo pple during the war attempt to annex (both by assumption and force) other parts of the region who didn't have the misfortune of their screwed up thinking. Efiks, Ibibios, Ijaws, (Rivers and Bayelsa) and Igbos all politically grouped together in the Eastern Region provided a temptation they could not resist. Do you think if it was an Efik or Ibibio military leader of the eastern region at the time, that those 4 years would have panned out the way it did? Case in point : Igbos said their pple should come back from the west and the north because nigeria was going to kill them. It was a deluded lie. My grand dad told his sons (in Kings College and Yaba Tech at the time) to stay put where they were. Igbo parents came and carried their children from school (straight into the war). My parents (from Rivers State) stayed put in Lagos and had a swell time all through the period. My Dad and brothers grew up in Aba. Their childhood friend who left lagos for the east during that period and who is still alive, tells me how he suffered on account of being in the east during the war Conclusion: The only people deluded about such a deluded view are the deluded individuals amongst the Igbo race |
