MASTERING THE SKILLS OF EFFECTIVE E-MARKETING
The reason most businesses in Nigeria have not really established their online presence is because of their opinion and the way the internet is being seen.Like I have always said in my previous articles, every business should use the infrastructure of the internet in one way or the other if they want to survive this age.It gives your business a boost, integrity, wider reach, global recognition and patronage resulting in addditional profit.

The internet will be maximized for business purposes here in Nigeria, when it is viewed as a marketing medium which has the advantage of instant interactivity and response. It should also be seen as a marketing communication tool which can reach a large number of targeted prospects faster than the traditional methods of marketing and it is cost effective too.

Bearing this in mind, the basic marketing principles for businesses should also be applied here but this time it is done differently.

Here are basic e-marketing strategies which when mastered will impact greatly on the way businesses are being done today. They also serve as a guide to help (individuals, small businesses, entrepreneurs, organisations etc. )avoid the pitfalls while taking their businesses online. They are simply:
a.How to choose the right concept for your online business
b.How to build your customer base.

Choosing the Right Concept for your Business
When establishing your web presence, the concept of your business should be well planned. This is where it all starts, good planning will determine how successful your online business will be.
Choosing the right concept for your online business involves, finding a profitable niche and building your online shop or office( your website) to suit the niche you want to play in.

A niche market according to Wikipedia(an online dictionary)is a focused, targetable portion of a market. It is a narrowly defined group of potential customers.Your online business should be one that addresses a particular need.

A.P. Giannini, the founder of Bank of America(BoA),one of the most influential bankers of the twentieth century said “serving the needs of others is the only legitimate business today.
Your success online is guaranteed when you focus on a particular small group and satisfy them. You should specialise on a core service or product for you to become an expert.

A good and profitable niche can be one in which you are already an expert in,where there is good competition resulting in demand, one you have special interest in or passion for.

After choosing the right niche for your online business, another challenge you have, is to pick the right concept for your website.Your website is your online store or office. This is very important because If you pick the wrong concept for your website you will get the wrong result nomatter the market you are playing in.It also becomes more interesting when you know that there are billions of websites on the internet so you can’t afford to miss it here.Don’t just have a website, get the concept right.

The concept of your website must either be a sales website or a portal website.A sales website is one which is totally designed to sell your products or services online like amazon.com.While a portal website is one which is basically built with the mind of first providing good content, service and specific information for your prospects for free, thereby attracting more people(traffic) to it like Yahoo.

The portal website makes the bulk of its revenue from advertising and back-end products. Which ever one your business falls into, you should understand the techiques involved.Your website, must also be designed in a simple way so that your prospects find it easy to navigate through in a short while.

The next thing to consider is to choose the right domain name for your business.Your domain name is simply the name of your business on the internet, that is the name of your website. It is your web address which your customers will use to locate your business on the internet. It also has to be registered online ones you have selected a name.

Simple tips to follow when choosing a name for your website.
1.The name of your website must reflect the type of business you do.
2.Short and sharp names are usually very easy to remember and they also allow your prospects to spell it easily and correctly.
3.It must be unique, to reduce competition in that niche.
4.If you want to use your name, make sure you are such a popular person and that it is a personal site.

Building your Customer Base
After finding a profitable niche and building a website around your product or service, your next task is to start building a list of prospects who will become potential customers. This process is known as List building. To be successful in online business, you just have to build a database of your customers,it is always said in internet marketing that the money is in the list.

In building your customer base, the unique and specific benefits which differentiate your business from others should be emphasised and boldly spelt out.It is what will attract prospects to your website.
Like every successful business has what they are known for as their unique selling proposition(USP),here you can also regard it as the Ultimate advantage of doing business with you,Sensational offers you give your prospects and Powerful promise which you always deliver.Your USP must solve the customers immediate problem while you build a lasting relationship with them.

All am trying to establish here is that your marketing campaign or the focal point of your business should be on making the customer feel right, you should be customer-centric not product-centric or profit-centric,this is where most businesses in Nigeria miss It.

So in building your list, your first goal with any visitor to your website is to make them see what is in it for them within few seconds and get them on your email list. They should be made to subcribe to your email list by willingly ‘opting in’ thereby allowing you to contact them subsequently through their emails. This is known as e-mail marketing.

Web based applications such as the autoresponders and the list serves now automate your email campaign and give you all the data about your prospect and the follow up details. This simple and automated act of making your prospects willingly subscribe to your email marketing messages is very important because statistics have shown that over 70% of internet users check their emails and don’t have time to browse sites.
Ones you have succeeded in getting them on your list the first time, you can have the time to build up their confidence with benefit-driven salescopy and your USP that compels them to buy your product or service always. You can also seek expert advice where necessary.
Do these simple things well you would have mastered the skills of effective e-marketing 101!

PhonesRepair Your Phone Yourself: A Guide by coolskeelz(op): 5:08pm On Apr 01, 2008
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CELL PHONE HARDWARE REPAIR AND SERVICES
The cell phone is a minicomputer with hardware and software components that are interdependent, any of them can be the cause of a fault. You need to identify the source of the problem, any visible component you can feel or touch is called the hardware while software is set of instructions or programmes that allow your handset perform specific functions or task. A good interpretation of the functions you are carrying out is done by the software. Hardware and software are mutually interdependent; one cannot function without the other, malfunctioning of either or both renders the phone useless.
A good technician must understand how the system operates to be effective in carrying out corrective operation on cell phones. When a cell phone is switched on the first thing it does is to check if the SIM card is inserted, followed by its acceptability. If the SIM card is accepted, the cell phone will undergo self -test operation, then booting to service mode for it to transmit and receive calls perfectly.

Malfunctioning of any of the three major areas of PCB-power, audio and RF sections renders the cell phone useless, and steps should be taken to rectify the fault.

GSM users have the problem of getting a reliable place to buy quality phones at affordable prices. Almost every phone user has a bitter experience in the hands of people that sell sub standard phones even at high prices. Users have always longed to have unique mobile phone distributors or even big time resellers, who will provide goods and services that will give the consumers rest of mind. The distributors will have to partner with the mobile phone manufacturers to provide:

BusinessAvoiding The Pitfalls Of E-business In Nigeria by coolskeelz(op): 4:10pm On Feb 26, 2008
AVOIDING THE PITFALLS OF E-BUSINESS IN NIGERIA
In recent times, many people have taken to online business transactions in one way or the other, some even without knowing it are already living a ‘web lifestyle’.People who do not have their businesses online at least use e-mail facilities,do online transactions or get online to search for one information or the other.Everyone is getting online these days.

Starting an online business or taking your bricks-and- mortar business(your offline business) to the internet is a welcomed development in Nigeria. This has been the essence of my articles here to show you how to build and manage your online business effectively so that you leverage on this marketing tool called the internet to boost your business.

E- business transactions are also encouraged to make life a lot easier for everyone. It has become pertinent at this time to enlighten you on some of the things you need to watch out for or avoid while getting online. This will help you avoid the pitfalls of using the internet and ensure you dont get your fingers burnt in any way.

It is not also news that people, businesses and organisations on a daily bases, are being defrauded in one way or the other through the internet both here in Nigeria and the world over.It is quite evident that internet frauds are still being perpetrated in Nigeria despite the activities of crime agencies fighting against it.

This hydra-headed menace has eaten deep into the fabrics of our society like every other crime.Internet fraud cannot be totally eradicated as long as there this the internet and the technology evolving, but it can be checked and reduced to its minimal.

In the past, one will think that it is only the ‘Oyibos’ that are being defrauded but that’s not true. These days many Nigerians have fallen victim to internet fraudsters even here in Nigeria.

Just recently, some people fell prey and were defrauded of large some of money from their bank accounts through their ATM cards as they filled the details of their bank account in an online form from a ‘phising’ site(frausters site) which looks like the Interswitch site.I got this same email from fraudsters asking me to change my ATM details online but I was quick to know that it was a scam.
Internet fraud is really taking another dimension as technology evolves daily. This is why you need to watch out very carefully whenever you are using the internet. Some of the ways in which unsuspected internet users are being defrauded are:

Through Spam e-mails:
Spam mails are unauthorised, unwanted or unsolicited Commercial e-mails(UCE).Mails which you do not know the sender or you were not expecting.Majority of internet frauds are being perpetrated through spam mails. This is because over 95 percent of internet users have e- mail account and they check on it everytime they get on the internet. So Spammers use softwares to extract email addresses of users online and send them unsolicited e-mails.Some of these scam mails tell you about fake lottery schemes, fake business proposals, fake job opportunities, fake online marketing business and many other ‘formats’.Do not be moved by the ‘sweetness’ of the content especially when you don’t know the sender.

As an individual or a company, you should be very careful about the e-mails you open to read on your computer or system. You should not open every e-mail you see on your inbox especially if the sender is not known. The subject of such emails are usually deceptive and do not reflect the content,so don’t be deceived by that.

VIRUS can be introduced into your system through this means, your system can also be remotely monitored and controlled through a mail which you opened. There have been several cases where vital information of an organisation are compromised simply through spam mails sent to such organisations which they opened on their system or network.
If you can check the type of mails you access, you would have checked over 70% of internet fraud.

Through Phising sites:
Phising is a situation where a known website is being faked to look exactly like the original website in order to collect vital information from the users of that site, like the ATM case I mentioned earlier, frausters go along way using softwares and other web tools to create sites that look exactly like a known site.

Spam e-mails containing links to the phising site are being sent to unsuspecting users. The phising site looks exactly like the original site.Users are asked to fill in details of vital information like their bank account details, password, username etc depending on the type of information the spammers want. And when that happens you would have given vital information to fraudsters through this means which they will use to defraud the person.Any website can be used here, some yahoo users’ e-mail account has being compromised in this way as they put their username and password on a fake yahoo site.People have also lost money in their E-gold account,Paypal account etc through this means.
To avoid being defrauded in this way,do not fill any vital information about yourself especially your bank account details on ANY website on the internet.Avoid checking out websites through a link from your e-mail rather access the website directly from your browser.

Through Unsecured Systems:
Unsecured systems here could mean your database, website, your computer, your server, your phone etc.
Several technological developments in the world of e-commerce in Nigeria have made it possible to transact business real time at any point in time and anywhere. From the use of ATM cards,to E-banking, M-banking,M-payment etc.In using these modes of business transaction one should be very careful not to compromise vital information.Users of these products and services should always get the latest information and advice from the service providers themselves.

More high- tech frauds are being done by hackers and the likes. They use different subtle means to gain access to unsecured database or information on your computer or system.

As an individual,be sure of who you give access to your computer or laptop as vital information about you could be compromised in this way.Even when your system breaks down,be sure of the person who is going to fix it,don’t give your system to just anyone, you could lose vital information stored on it.

If you are using the cyber cafes, you should also be careful about the sites or information you access publicly. It is not the best place to do your internet banking or other online transactions.
Some cybercafes are not secured, fraudsters can install softwares on the computers that will trap user’s vital information like usernames, account details, passwords etc.

Job seekers whether for local or foreign job opportunities should also be conscious of where they summit their resumes online, there are also fake online job recruiters who use the information on resumes to possibly defraud job seekers or their families.Always check if the recruiter has a website, every serious recruiting firm should have their own website. If they have, proceed to search about them on google and also use the web tool at www.alexa.com or www.whois.net to get details and address of the owner of the website, and be sure they are real. You just have to be sure of where you are sending your details online.
It has also being observed that there are also fake foreign exchange programs, conferences, seminars etc online.Just be aware that some of these things happen online and avoid being a prey to them.

As a business,it is very necessary that you secure your database or website with the latest technology from IT experts especially when you are dealing with payment solutions or vital information.Technologies which will suit the uniqueness of our environment should be employed to secure these systems from fraudsters.

Some people have also been defrauded by fake online business teachers or coach in a bid to learn how to start online businesses like the FOREX trading,E-marketing,Affiliate marketing etc.My advice here is for you to do your due diligence before you involve yourself in any such training or transaction, look for experts in these fields who are already making money doing the business and learn from them. This will reduce your chances of failing.

Having shown you some of the pitfalls online,I will want to say here that this is not meant to make you get afraid about e-business rather to advice that you be more careful whenever you get online.
To your business success!

HOW TO MAKE LEGITIMATE INCOME ONLINE HERE IN NIGERIA

The Internet has made it possible for us to leverage the opportunities it provides to make legitimate money doing business. We all are aware that it is possible to make money on the Internet in a fraudulent way, so it is possible to start an online business and make legitimate money, which is where my concern is.

It is also good that we start to create jobs and businesses for one self and not wait to be employed because to be sincere there are no jobs that can give you satisfaction and freedom like when you are doing ‘your own thing’. Here, am going to show you businesses you can start today on the internet and make money, even if you have a paid job you can still work part time and combine it with your job without stress. Let us first look at the advantages of doing business on the Internet.

Bill Gates ones said, “In some years to come, all businesses shall be on the net, you are either on the Internet or you are out of business”, this has started to happen in the developed parts of the world, even Nigeria as we can see now, the use of internet has improved tremendously over the last 5 years, your business has better advantage being on the net.

Some of the Advantages of doing business on the Internet.
1.It requires little or no start up capital: you can actually start an online business with little capital because this kind of business does not necessarily require an office or business premises, equipment, or things that make up your ordinary brick-and-mortar business (i.e. ordinary business), you just need internet access and about an hour or two, even from your bedroom, office, hotel room, cyber café etc.you can do business.

2.Anybody can do business on the Internet; I mean anybody can do it if you know what to do and how to do it, you must not be a computer guru, or a programmer, or web designer before you start doing business on the Internet. No special qualification is required, as long as you can read, type and move the mouse, you are already in the business.

3.It is a kind of business that gives you freedom, you can work anytime you want, at any place, and you can actually determine your income. You don’t need to work 9 to 5,you can work part time or full time, which means you can combine it with your normal job and make multiple streams of income that will make you financially free.

4.You can start this business with what you like to do, that is your passion. You don’t necessarily need a business plan. You can make money on the Internet with what you know, just anything can be business on the Internet you name it. Someone will always pay you for what you know. Simply put: do what you love and the money will follow.

5.The Internet gives you a wide reach to unlimited market. Your customers are unlimited and from different parts of the world. You can actually imagine the number of customers (targeted customers) you will have through the Internet. Think of how many people that is online now from different parts of the world, that is the limit of your reach.

6.This kind of business goes on automatically, that means you don’t have to be present all day to monitor the business. The business makes you money even when you are sleeping, yes! when you are sleeping or on vacation.

7.You have unlimited opportunities doing business on the Internet. You can also incorporate your offline business (normal business) that is if you have a business running now and establish a web presence for it and that gives you an edge.

8.There are little or no risks involved in this kind of business if you know what to do and how to do it. I must not fail to add here that like every business you need to be shrewd, focused and dedicated too.

There are other advantages, which can be derived from these main ones I have shown you here, of which many of us are aware.
Let us see the businesses you can start on the Internet now and make money.

Business as we know requires you to provide good services, ideas, products that the people are in need of. You can create your own product or leverage from the product of others. Some of the businesses you can do on the Internet here in Nigeria or anywhere with or without your own website using little or no start up capital are:

YAHOO AND GOOGLE AD WORD AND AD SENSE.
We all know what yahoo and google are, they are the biggest, most common and widely used search engines on the Internet today. We all use it to send mails, look for information, products and services on the internet, you can actually make money advertising your own product or help other people advertise there product on yahoo and google while you get paid for it. This exposes your product to unlimited number of people that use these search engines. This is one of the easiest ways to make money on the Internet. There are two ways you can do that using the Ad words and Ad sense. If you have ever searched for anything on the internet using yahoo or google you must have seen ad words and ad sense being used, they are those little adverts you see on the right hand side of the result of what you are searching, they are similar to what you are searching for, you can also see them in some personal sites, they are the ad word and ad sense am telling you about, you make money through them if you know what to do and how to do them. It is very simple to set up:

1.look for products, services, ideas you can sale online; it can be your own product or other people’s product. You can go to www.clickbank.com and click on earn commissions and see the array of products with commissions you can choose from. You can also use www.vstore.com and many other sites.
2.Sign up for free as a reseller.
3. Use yahoo and google to advertise the product you got from 1.above to the targeted and unlimited buyers that need the product.
4.Set up a medium from which you can collect your payment online, you can get paid by cheque, or through your normal bank account,  account or collect your money through merchants here in Nigeria. At the end of every month you will be amazed at how much you have been able to make by people just clicking on your advert or even buying your product. It is as simply as that.

YOU CAN MAKE MONEY WRITING ARTICLES FOR WEBMASTERS AND WEBDEVELOPERS.
Writing articles that website developers use can make you money on the Internet, you get paid when you write as a freelancer or a ghoshwriter, you will be needed to write about 300-600 words or more than as the case may be. Webmasters need articles because they don’t have time to write them so they look for people that will write articles that are highly optimized in search engines, and they will pay them. It is one way to make money on the net. You have freedom to choose the niche or topic of your choice you can write well in. you can even write a whole book for people and get paid for it, You can get writing jobs at www.freelancewriting.com, www.articlemarketer.com and other sites.

YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN INFORMATION PRODUCT AND MAKE MONEY WITH IT
I told you earlier that you could make money from just ANYTHING you know and get paid for it; you can also leverage from what other people know and make money from it. You have unlimited opportunity to make money through your information products because everybody that comes to the internet is looking for some information so you can be the solution of what they are searching for, you know what I mean! These products can be in the form of e-books, newsletters, reports, how-to-do articles etc. Digital products as they are called, sell like hot cake on the Internet so this business puts money in your bank account at any point in time. You have no limit to the amount you can make on one information product because Information rules the world!

There are many other legitimate businesses you can do online and make money, you just need to start from somewhere and you will be amazed that you are now exposed to other online businesses, but basically this is a good way to start making money while you even browse and do your normal stuffs on the net at your pass time, and don’t just waste your time like that. You have nothing to lose!

How to start online business
Starting a successful online business has to do with your ability to discover what people want, their problems, and proffer solution to them. I want to use this space and time to enlighten you about some known facts which successful netpreneurs use which is hard to reveal, first of all you have to understand the reason why people come to the net, majority of people that browse the net are not looking for some stuffs to buy rather they are looking for a solution to their problem, they will pay anything to anyone that has the answer to their problem. like I have explained in my previous write ups here, you can make money online with what you know, or leverage from people that know, hey!let me quickly show you how best to start your online business.

Start with keyword research
Whatever type of online business you want to do, you need a thorough research about it, keyword is simply what people search for on the net, the words people type in search of in search engines like google and yahoo, these are words which are highly optimized by search engines, and they help you to discover the following
1. Helps you estimate and drive unlimited traffic to your website
2. Helps you know how many people are doing that kind of business on the net
3. How many sites have been developed on that particular keyword
4. How many people (customers or prospects) that are looking for your service, product.
5. How much you can pay to advertise your service to the world using the search engines and a lot more which you can determined through keyword research.
To sum it up keyword research shows you the POPULARITY, PRICE, AND COMPETITION (PPC) of the business you want to do on the net.

How to determine PPC
Several tools are available which can be used to determine this, the common ones are seen in yahoo and google sites.let us use the one of yahoo, go to www.searchmarketing.yahoo.com/rc/srch/
Click on keyword selector tool, type in any word you like e.g. gardening and click ok, you will be amazed at what you find out. What you have on your left is the number of times people searched for that keyword last month, and other words related to your keyword. this shows you the popularity of the keyword, more specialized analysis is required to determine the competition and how profitable that keyword is in the chosen niche, like the R/S ratio of the keyword where R is the result and S is the search, this is vital in knowing and choosing your online business.

THE SECRET OF SELLING ON THE INTERNET

The art of selling whether on the internet or offline is as old as man, it is a way of life, and there has always been a way of exchanging goods and services for monetary benefits. Selling on the internet is an art that should be mastered in order for one to excel in it; a lot of materials, CDs and e books are on the internet which teach on how to make sells, what am sharing with you here is a proven method that I use in making sells on the internet which most netpreneurs won’t teach you.

Selling is a stage in marketing in which your goods or services are being offered to customers in exchange of money, it should be a relationship rather than ordinary sales.

There are two different ways in which prospective customers can see your product, there is one in which you have to send messages, adverts and even look for your prospects on the net, this is called the out bound marketing, here you are trying to let people know what you are offering them, most times they are not really in need of your product.

The other method is the inbound marketing where your customers will have to beg you with there money to have your product, I know you are thinking now how can a customer beg for a product? yes!it happens with marketing gurus who have mastered the art, Actually the first time I heard that people can beg you for online products I felt the same way you are feeling now until I saw it been demonstrated by my mentor,

I also have had the opportunity of prospects calling me to have my product. Which of the two methods do you prefer? I know you will surely want a situation where people will call to have your product and not you looking out for them. The secret about it is simple, chose a profitable niche and presell your customers.

Finding a profitable niche
This involves selecting the area you intend to go into, you must find your prospects ever before creating your product or service. This is the most important thing to do, here you make use of the search engines like yahoo and google to know how profitable your area of interest is, I have dealt extensively on this topic in my previous article about online business, you can check that out.

Presell your customers
After you must have chosen a niche and packaged your product, please don’t ask your prospects to buy at this time rather you need to presell your product to them first, preselling involves giving your prospects FREE information about your product, you have to make them understand what they stand to get from using your product i.e. the benefits in your product. This should be clearly written and outlined in an article. PhonesBrowsing With A Gsm Internet Sim Card:the Secret Behind It by coolskeelz(op): 8:33am On Sep 15, 2007
Several opportunities come up every time as a result of the rapid growth of the use of GSM in Nigeria. Here I will show you another opportunity you can leverage on for free.

With the improved technology in mobile communication, like the 3G, the use of mobile phones cannot only be limited to the conventional making and receiving of calls, mobile phones have evolved into mini computers and mobile offices. The internet can be accessed on mobile devices these days that means someone can actually browse the net 24/7 with a GSM phone any where in Nigeria.

With over 30 million mobile subscribers in Nigeria, the internet penetration can be improved in the country through the use of mobile internet. Most Nigerians have started using their phones to browse the internet while many do not know how to do it but desire to have it. There is definitely a demand for mobile internet which brings another business opportunity for smart entrepreneurs. The mobile internet will actually remove the high cost of internet equipment, installation, high subscription fee and other charges which are associated with getting connected to the internet here in Nigeria.

You can also browse the internet on your laptop or PC using the GSM internet SIM card at an affordable price, you can also make money helping people to configure their internet SIM card. This offers you the opportunity of browsing not only with your mobile phone but also on your computer or laptop. This is the aspect I want to show you how to do, having it in mind that GSM offers the fastest internet connection using the GPRS and even faster with a 3G technology.

To start offering this service to your clients, all you need is a special internet SIM card , a GSM installation software CD, and a GPRS modem. the special SIM card is what you need to subscribe from the service providers .The installation software is optional depending on the network, but for MTN you will need the software, the modem is connected to the computer. Although you can still connect to the computer with your handset but I recommend you use a modem. If you are using a handset, it has to be a GPRS compliant handset with the PC software installation CD.Using handset has its faults, like power depletion problem while you need a connection cable to get a good connection against using the infrared link. But with a modem, you just insert it into the computer USB port so the power comes from the PC.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR CELL PHONE BATTERY
The battery of your cell phone is the source of power for the operation of your phone. The capability of the battery to supply needed power for the running of the handset makes for effective use of all the gadgets, features and functions which the phone has. It is therefore very important to note these basic steps to care for your cell phone battery.
There are different types of batteries with varied life span. The battery life is determined by standby time and talk time of the phone.

HOW TO HANDLE BATTERIES
We need to know a little about battery for proper handling and management .battery life is affected by many variables like: charging procedures, distance from base station, usage mode, the type of battery and the temperature at which it is stored.

CARE FOR NEW BATTERIES
They come in an uncharged condition. For new batteries to reach their full rated capacity, they should be fully charged and fully discharged two to four times. Unplugging the AC adapter and leaving the cell phone turned on until completely discharged or low battery warning can discharge most batteries.

New batteries should be charged for about 5hours while the old ones take 1 to 4 hours based on the depletion level. Avoid overcharging your cell phone which may shorten the life span of your battery. Most manufacturers usually state that if the battery is charged more than 4 hours you risk damaging it by overcharging. Regular over charging may also damage the charging system of the cell phone. For longer life span, batteries should not be left dormant for extended period of time. They should be used periodically for effectiveness.

ELIMINATING MEMEORY EFFECT

A reduction in capacity caused by repeated charging before the battery has been discharged completely is referred to as memory effect, this is quite common, phone users do it often times without knowing the effect it has on their battery. Most batteries suffer memory effect; the NiCad batteries suffer memory effect. If the battery is recharged before it is completely discharged, it will only charge to the level of which the battery was last discharged due to accumulation of gas bubbles on the cell plates. if a battery is discharged to 25% and then recharged, the battery will only charge 25% of its capacity and thus shrinking the battery’s power capability. the best way to eliminate memory effect and remove the accumulated gas bubbles on the cell plates is to condition it i.e. draining the battery until your phone shuts off, then recharging fully for about two to four times.

BATTERY STORAGE
Keeping the battery in cold or hot places will reduce the capacity and lifetime of the battery. A phone with a hot or cold battery may temporarily not work; even if the battery is fully charged batteries should be stored in a cool dry place.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT
A battery can be charged and recharged hundreds of times but it will eventually wear out. when the operating time(talk time and standby time)is noticeably shorter than normal, for instance if your battery used to last 3 days and now only lasts for say 10 hours, it is time to replace the battery.
In general, a rechargeable battery has a long service life span if treated properly. A new battery or one that has not been used (dormant) for a long time could have a reduced capacity the first few time that it is used. If for any reason you are not going to use your cell phone for a long period of time, it is advisable you remove the battery.

The talk time and standby time depend on the actual transmission condition when using the phone. The network you are using and the condition of the battery pack can affect battery life. Avoid areas of poor reception. If the phone is used near a base station, less power is required and standby time is prolonged.
One way to maintain the battery existing charge is to turn off the phone when not in use. If you have voice mail service, you do not have to worry about missing your calls when the cell phone is off because you can always check your messages when you turn it back on. in conclusion of care of your cell phone battery, take not of these

-If you are charging a new battery or a battery that has run out completely (i.e. deeply discharged), it may take up to 25 minutes or more before the battery meter appears in the display showing that the battery is being charged, it takes some time for sufficient power in the phone to light the battery indicator. In this case you cannot turn on the phone before the indicator appears in the display.
-Do not expose the battery to extreme temeperatures, never above 60 degrees centigrade (140 degree Fahrenheit).for maximum battery capacity, use the battery in room temeperature.if used in low temperature, its capacity will be reduced.
The silent and loud alert should not be enabled at the same time for longer life span of the battery.
-Avoid playing games, if you are playing game ensure that the background light and sound are off, this helps.
-Do not let the metal contact on the battery touch another metallic object, this could cause short-circuit and damage the battery.
-Do not expose the battery to open flame. This could cause explosion.
Batteries should not be put into the mouth; battery electrolyte may be toxic if swallowed

Jobs/VacanciesThe Panacea For Unemployment In Nigeria by coolskeelz(op): 2:48pm On Sep 08, 2007
INTERNET FOR JOBS (I4J) INITIATIVE: THE PANACEA FOR UNEMPLOYMENT IN NIGERIA
It is no longer news that the unemployment situation in Nigeria today is on the increase as the day rolls by, in a country where over 130,000 graduates are being churned out annually with less than 50,000 job opportunities for them. This has brought with it serious social and economic problems to the nation over the years, everyone should begin to think inwards to see how we can collectively tackle this hydra-headed malady.

The recent initiative of the Nigeria Communications Commission(NCC),the Nigeria Internet Group and other stake holders in ICT under the aegis of Internet For Jobs(I4J) initiative for the youths is a welcomed development especially coming at the right time with the technological development taking place in the country, like the launch and full deployment of the communication satellite in Nigeria-the NIGCOMSAT-1 which will provide among other benefits cheap and affordable internet services even to the remotest areas of the country. It will make the initiative work.

The initiative which is aimed at exploring legitimate opportunities and ways of creating wealth at the speed of thought using the infrastructure of the internet, should be taken seriously because it has the potentials of employing the unemployed, yes it can provide jobs for anyone who is interested. It will also provide the needed solution to reduce if not stop the fraudulent use of the internet by the group we refer to as the ‘yahoo yahoo boys’. This is a major problem that will be addressed by this initiative because right now Nigeria has a very bad image on the internet as a result of the frauds being perpetrated on a daily bases by Nigerians who use the internet fraudulently.

Having established an online presence for years now as an Internet Marketing consultant, let us quickly look at the benefits of doing business on the internet and some of the online businesses one can start and make a living from, considering our peculiarity. It is now obvious that some Nigerians (netpreneurs) are making money doing legitimate businesses on the internet, in fact everyone should be on the internet, it was Bill Gates, CEO Microsoft Inc.who ones said ‘In some years to come, all businesses shall be on the net, you are either on the internet or you are out of business’ This goes to show the importance of having an online presence.
Some of the Advantages of doing Business on the Internet.
1. It requires little or no start up capital: you can actually start an online business with little capital because this kind of business does not necessarily require an office or business premises, equipment like your ordinary brick-and-mortar business (i.e. ordinary business), you just need internet access and about an hour or two, even from your bedroom, office, hotel room, cyber café etc.you can do business.

2. Anybody can do business on the Internet; I mean anybody can do it if you know what to do and how to do it, you must not be a computer guru, or a programmer, or web designer before you start doing business on the Internet. No special qualification is required, as long as you can read, type and move the mouse; you are already in the business.

3. It is a kind of business that gives you freedom, you can work anytime you want, at any place, and you can actually determine your income. You don’t need to work 9 to 5, you can work part time or full time, which means you can actually combine it with your normal job and make multiple streams of income that will make you financially free.

4. You can start this business with what you like to do, that is your passion. You don’t necessarily need a business plan. You can make money on the Internet with what you know, just anything can be business on the Internet you name it. Someone will always pay you for what you know. Simply put: do what you love and the money will follow.

5. The Internet gives you a wide reach to unlimited market. Your customers can come from different parts of the world. You can actually imagine the number of customers (targeted customers) you will have through the Internet. Think of how many people that is online now from different parts of the world that is the limit of your reach.

6. This kind of business goes on automatically, that means you don’t have to be present all day to monitor the business. The business makes you money even when you are sleeping, yes! When you are sleeping or on vacation.

7. You have unlimited opportunities doing business on the Internet. You can also incorporate your offline business (normal business) that is if you have a business running now and establish a web presence for it and that gives you an edge. Am happy that most companies now have websites, but it really goes beyond having a website, the website should also be marketed and made to bring extra income to the business at a much reduced cost.

8. There are little or no risks involved in this kind of business if you know what to do and how to do it. I must not fail to add here that like every business you need to be shrewd, focused and dedicated to the business. Integrity is also required

Legitimate Businesses One can Start on the Internet
Business whether on the internet or not as we know requires you to provide good services, offer great products and ideas that the people are in need of, it is not different when you get online, in fact on the internet people are not looking for stuffs to buy but they are looking for a solution to their problem, so if you can offer the solution they are looking for you will be paid for your effort, so the more you know what problems people have, the more you be in online business. This is the simple truth about online business. Having established this fact, let us x-ray some of the businesses you can do on the Internet here in Nigeria with or without a website using little start- up capital

Selling of Information
Like I said earlier, people need information that will solve their problem, selling of information is the hottest business on the internet today and every other business revolves round information, you will always be in business if you package your idea into information product, one of the good things about this is that you can be the originator of the idea or you leverage from other peoples idea and product as an affiliate. You can make money with any good information or idea in form of e-books, newsletters, reports, How-to-do articles etc.

Digital products as they are called, sell like hot cake on the Internet so this business puts money in your bank account at any point in time. You have no limit to the amount you can make on one information product because Information rules the world. It also depends on your ability to learn the art of selling on the internet. And if you are generous with your information and offer them free, you will be amazed how you make money through other back end products.
One Nigerian website that offers free information for GSM users and also serves as a forum for resource sharing is online forum(an online community of GSM users, service providers, investors and regulators in Nigeria).

Writing articles for webmasters and web developers.
Writing articles that website developers use can make you money on the Internet, you get paid when you write as a freelancer or a ghostwriter, you will be needed to write about 300-600 words or more than as the case may be. Webmasters need articles because they don’t have the time to write so they look for people that will write articles that are highly optimized in search engines using the right keywords, and they will be paid. It is one way to make money on the net. You have freedom to choose the niche or topic of your choice you can write well in. you can even write a whole book for people and get paid for it, there are websites where you find writing jobs. You can equally write articles about your own product and get great patronage.

Other ways of making a living online is by joining the advertising programme of search engines like yahoo and google, the programme is known as Ad Words and Ad Sense. You can also get to trade in foreign currencies online known as FOREX and make a living out of it. One can provide such services like designing and hosting websites, offering marketing and advertising services online. But before you get into any online business, you must do your keyword research to determine the demand, available market, price, competition for your products and services.
To your online success!
