;DAnd that's how I made it 2 the front page with my own personal, original, critical write-up since 2010.........thanks to FG and ASUU for being part of my success story.......to zubby and mazi,ur stories kept me on nairaland......to glo 4 always nourishing my phone with 30MB...whatelse can I say....I'm on front PAAGE |
I don't know why I'm particularly interested n this strike..probably because I'm just few months away 4 graduating.. I read every news, opinions, features, views, letters of different newspapers..I watched carefully this drama where ASUU and FG were d main characters...sometimes I imagined how their meetings look like, maybe just bunch of adults relaxing with bottles of alcohols in their front discussing the life of more than 2/3 of Nigerian students.. During this strike,a lot of students ve dabbled into different stuffs.. Olawale, the project fame winner have become a musician, and just like wizkid will probably quit school now even if ASUU resumes tomorrow.. Taiwo a 400level pharmacy student ve become a tailor, told me she will open a shop in the new market, when ASUU resumes. Bode Agbe,an agric student have found a new passion barbing, now he can barb anything that looks like hair..planning to convert our hostel corridor to his shop when ASUU resumes...Olumide a medical students ve fallen in love with make up stuffs, now he can make up anything,he will even beg me just to paint my face..he's also planning to organise a make up training and seminar when ASUU resumes...Good people,Good ideas... On the other side,Onyeka my UNILAG friend is now pregnant hmmm, will probably return to school with a baby ASUUSEYITAN or ASUUdamilola...Emeka,my UNAAB friend because of ASUU started trading in okrika not to stay idle, had an accident, will probably return to school limping.. What do you plan on doing when ASUU resume next week and how has the strike affected you positively or negatively?? |

I can see a thread where every1 is trying to defend his/her profession here but it wont change the fact that doctors are not the only professional in the healthcare system and they strike so much for personal purposes and not for the betterment of the health care. http://www.dailytimes.com.ng/article/luth-resident-doctors-begin-3-day-warning-strike http://africanoutlookonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2166:medical-council-bars-nigerian-doctors-from-strike http://www.news24.com.ng/National/News/Ebonyi-doctors-strike-over-kidnap-of-colleague-20130506 http://m.naij.com/news/21794.html http://naijagists.com/lagos-state-doctors-begin-indefinite-strike-today/ Infact,ASUU NO STRIKE REACH THEM |
KNOW YOUR Gs G in 2G, 3G and 4G stands for the “Generation” of the mobile network. Today, mobile operators have started offering 4G services in the country. A higher number before the ‘G’ means more power to send out and receive more information and therefore the ability to achieve a higher efficiency through the wireless network. Understanding the mobile networks: 1G As the name would suggest, 1G was the first generation of mobile networks. Here basically, radio signals were transmitted in ‘Analogue’ form and expectedly, one was not able to do much other than sending text messaging and making calls. But the biggest disadvantage, however came in the form of limited network availability, as in the network was available only within the country. 2G 2G networks on the other hand, were based on narrow band digital networks. Signals were transmitted in the digital format and this dramatically improved the quality of calls and also reduced the complexity of data transmission. The other advantage of the 2G network came in the form of Semi Global Roaming System, which enabled the connectivity all over the world. GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) GPRS is a packet-based* wireless communication service. It is a 2G technology network that support a download speed of up to 114Kbps. Limitation of GPRS is that GPRS data cannot be sent while a voice call is in progress. EDGE(Enhanced Data GSM Evolution) GPRS and EDGE are both 2G technology but EDGE is significantly faster with a download speed of up to 384Kbps. EDGE is sometimes called a 2.5G network as it also has some characteristics of a 3G network but it doesn't satisfy the specification. 3G Introduction of 3G network made video calling and seamless streaming of video possible, with download speed of up to 3.1Mbps. The 3rd generation of mobile networks has become popular largely thanks to the ability of users to access the Internet over devices like mobiles and tablets. The speed of data transmission on a 3G network ranges between 384KBPS to 2MBPS. This means a 3G network actually allows for more data transmission and therefore the network enables voice and video calling, file transmission, internet surfing, online TV, view high definition videos, play games and much more. 3G is the best option for users who need to always stay connected to Internet. HSDPA(High-Speed Down-link Packet Access) It is based on the 3G network and an enhancement to 3G. Thus has a faster speed, download speed can be up to 14Mbps. HSDPA is sometimes called 3.5G. HSPA+(Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) HSPA+ is an evolution HSPA(HSDPA&HSUPA). It is a 4G technology that allows download at a rate of up to 168Mbps. 4G LTE(Long Term Evolution) LTE is a 4G communication standard that supports HD video streaming, download speed as high as 299.6Mbps. 4th Generation mobile networks are believed to provide many value added features. In addition to all the 3G facilities, data transmission is believed to go through the roof with speeds ranging between 100MBPs to 1GBPS. Phew! Happy talking, surfing, conferencing, chatting, networking, partying, or whatever you want to do on your mobile phone Summary GPRS(114Kbps) < EGDE(368Kbps) < 3G(3.1Mbps) < HSDPA(14Mbps) < HSPA+(168Mbps) < 4G/LTE(299.6Mbps) |

Lagos state tried integration of the two systems some years ago.it failed woefully.. Bringing herbal medicine into the curriculum wont make ur anatomy less cubersome.. And when I mean the white labcoat fellas,i dont mean medical students but those already in practice(doctors, pharmacists, nurses e.t.c) imsu.boi: |
Advantages of herbal medicine 1-Cheaper 2-Source of new drugs or precursors of new drugs 3-Accessible to everyone especially to the people in the rural areas. 4-Wider acceptability even in areas where orthodox medicine is not acceptable because it's related to the culture of the people. 5-Source of additional manpower to the health system 6-herbal remedies have a greater likelihood of being accepted by the body than those synthesized in the laboratory Embrace herbal medicine today ![]() |
Good move by FG..i hope those white labcoat fellas wont truncate this move again..i support full integration of herbal medicine into the national health system..there is a lot to gain 4rm it..china and india are perfect examples |

Electives with field trips are fun too and you re 99% sure of passing once you go for the trip..SEM,SEG.. Almost all the electives re very easy to pass..just pick one in good faith..and try go for their class if you ve time sha..some dey write tests..some na just exams only |
Guys,1st tym of reading this thread..and i'm amazed you guys ve kept yourself busy helping each other all this while.i was in ur shoes four years ago sha and i fink a few hints will help you guys a lot For those still having problems with eportal, borrow a laptop if yu dont have 1,connect via oaunet wireless in each hostel or faculties..that is the fastest way to register For those that may find the hostel unfit to stay..endure for dis 1 year cos you will learn a lot in dat shithole and yu will probably meet ur bestfriends..common in angola Guys, you re probably in the easiest level in oau for all the courses, make use of the opportunity well, have fun, read hard and build ur G.P and ur confidence especially for those admitted for medical related courses and pharmacy like me For those given 'courses' apart 4rm the ones you choose.dont let this be ur excuse for not reading well, you may end up studying and enjoying the course forever..so start strong For guys that this would probably be their 2nd or 3rd matriculation lyk me,dont compare oau with the schools you re comparing from oo..it's tougher here..i made 4.85 in my former uni but find it hard to make 4.5 in oau in my 1st year cos i felt i already ve what it takes.so read as if yu re just starting fresh Fellowship activities for xtians and muslims will start showing up,be wise and dont overdo it..settle down well before yu join the workforce of ur fellowship.. Tutorials will also start showing up in different angles, dont waste too much tym on tutorials than you spend reading your books. And for the fun part, oau is fun..rock anglomoz with sense..b part of it cos they will form memories later.. And for the library/health centre reg..start ur library reg 1st,you can always do ur health centre registration anytime b4 the session ends. Sorry for the long epistle, buh as yu continue your sojourn in 'ogba femi'..you will find it helpful |
