Yaya came in through a military coup ,detained, killed opponents and looted the country's treasury for 22 whole years.(he has killed more than one thousands Gambians since he came to power,)What did he get, after being defeated in a keenly contested presidential election,A red carpet treatment. This despot should have been killed and thrown into the Atlantic ocean to serve as a deterrent to other African leaders nursing despotic ambitions.

What human rights is he calling? The fight should start with their parents for sending little kids away all in the name of almajiri school. It's the fault of their parents for shifting their parental responsibilities to these so called mallams

Come to katsina and see how kids below the ages of four beg in the streets, you will marvel in pain, pity and anger. I wonder what goes on in their parents head.

This almajiri nonsense should be banned, these kids are being brutalized and exposed to so many dangers including starvation.
But I begin to wonder,if this is truly an Islamic culture, why is it not applicable in other Islamic countries or is it poverty and sheer wickedness of the Black man.

Adams Barrow was sworn in today as the new Gambia president, making him the third president of his country. He also ask the armed forces to pledge loyalty to him.The die is cast as Ecowas coalition forces is waiting for a legitimate president to invite them into Gambia to clear the political impasse.

Safety first...

A president that loves his people will make a statement that sounds like this;
"My ambition is not worth the blood of any Gambian"
This one statement is enough to boost your international respect, earn you awards and make you an African statesman and many more of such things. But you see, not all of us have a golden heart for our people. This (God forbid) will send Gambia back to 1800AD.
God help them.

What's happening to Jammeh today is what will happen to Buhari come 2019 wen he no gree leave Office for whoever go win the election
Nigeria case is completely different,we are the happiest people on mother earth,we suffer and smile,we are easily bought over with peanuts,we betrays our neighbour at the slightest opportunity.Buhari will still win in 2019.

I have been thinking along your line too, bro. That Senegal is out to settle some personal vendetta which must not be allowed to happen. Beneath whatever cover of ECOWAS I sense a sneaky attempt by Senegal to brutalize Gambia
That's why Nigeria is on ground to steem any overzealous move by Senegal.I learnt UN will also be sending their observers.

Sovereignty of any nation ultimately belongs to the people. If an individual or group of individuals decided to manipulate the power of the people to choose, there must be a process of checking abuse of process and power. Such is the essence of regional power blocks and global power unions. Otherwise we should have been counting the 5th WW by now. Remember, if Gambia is not at peace, the neighbouring countries can not pretend to be at peace, because they will have to bear the consequences of migration and its attendant social vices.
That is the reason you see UN and AU supporting ECOWAS in this crusade.
I have been praying that he will accept asylum in Nigeria and bring his stolen monies so that he can receive Charles Taylor treatment.
Yes,youare correct, thousands has fleed to neighbouring Senegal and Mali already.there's humanitarian crisis already in these countries.

Until we truly diversify our economy and go back to exporting agricultural products, we will forever be stuck in this vicious circle.

Edited: most of the foools above me didn't even bother to read the content of the news article...our so-called future leaders that can't read...my God!

With these kind of moróns how will Nigeria ever get better? cry
Must it be Agriculture, can't we invest in technology(it's more sustainable and lucrative) by sending our youths to countries like china( who pretends to invest in our economy) to acquire skills in basic tech manufacturing In areas like info tech, automobile, aviation, electricals etc.(,The government can also partner with manufactures in the east)The government can then set them up by providing the machines to start production, this will boast the economy, because the huge amount we use to import machine parts will be saved,it will also create employment for Nigerians. We have the resource to do it.fish, grasscutter, snail and goat farming are just waste of time and resources,it will and has never been of any help to the youths and the economy at large.lets diversity our economy in Technology, this is the new wave in the World largest economy.

should we now start pampering a woman who slap a man's face.witnesed one at surulere area where d man was just trying to argue out some stuffs with the woman, and before he knew it he got a sound slap twice, right in front of the man's child.the woman held his cloth and almost tore it while shouting and raining curses.oga wetin u go do for that kain situation
Simply clean the woman's hands off your shirt and walk away. What people don't realize is that the greatest strength resides in men with the ability to take insults without reacting.

It doesn't always work that way, just the same way life doesn't offer "black and whiite, yes and no" scenarios or "objective-type-WAEC-exams" to you all the time.

I know women who can beat you to WITHIN AN INCH OF YOUR LIFE BY TRAINING AND TEMPERAMENT and they HAVE NO QUALMS ABOUT DOING SO if you turn out to be a PUSH-OVER who just turns tail and flees! THEY JUST WON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR "DROPPING YOUR EGO" once their "switch is flipped"!

This is where maturity and reverse-psychology may come into play since there are ways of ASSERTING YOURSELF and DEFENDING YOUR PERSONAL DIGNITY AND SPACE FROM VIOLATION WITHOUT RESORTING TO VIOLENCE WITH A WOMAN.

Please, we don't have to reduce life to or WALK AROUND WITH SIMPLISTIC MENTAL MODELS OF "burying-our-heads-in-the-sands". Listen, there are "bad guys/girls" all out in town now and that's why the crime rates are up with folks being shot to sh!ts for little reasons atimes.

TREASURE YOUR LIFE, PROTECT YOURSELF! In this era, where even under-aged girls have been used as Suicide-Bombers, life is no longer a rose-bed!

IF YOU KNOW YOU LACK MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING and you meet any of THOSE BARRACK MILITARY-TYPE WOMEN, I SUGGEST YOU AT LEAST LEARN TO BLOCK, PARRY OR DODGE THEIR BLOWS OR KNOW-TO-RUN-LIKE-HELL SO YOU DON'T BOOK EARLY FLIGHT OUT BACK TO YOUR MAKER! wink
The women you just described is one with an unstable mind akin to a lunatic.

If you like cut off a woman's mouth and give her to chew,it can never change their nature. It is better and wise to understand them.didn't a woman stabs the husband to death because of xmas rice.Women are necessary evil that you must learn how to tame.

"immatured" so says someone who think misbehaving is exclusive right of a female.

buhahaha grin
Women are bound to behave funny,:where you say make woman nor go na there he dey go" no matter their educational attainment. If you give a woman one inch, she go take ten feet, that's their nature, sometimes we the men dont actually understand their language. If a woman talks too much, she need a listening ear.if she nags too much, she needs to be relieved of too much stress. Those that chew gum in public, need someone to talk to.lol

"Oga leave am,na woman"

This statement is annoying!...But if it's a guy that slapped a girl now,all of them will start beating and insulting the man.

Lemme see that girl that will slap me in public,I will beat you till you start to bleed from your ears .Then let me see that son of man that will tell me "you're not a man" for doing that..You go chop your own beating join.. Nonsense!! angry
What you just posted shows that you cannot live with a woman. As a man whenever you are with the opposite sex,you have to imbibe strong tolerance, because they want to be pampered and given much attention.Give a woman what she wants(drop your ego) and you've concered her.
