Crime › Re: NDLEA Arrests Drug Kingpin, Intercepts Tramadol, Opiods, loud, cannabis by correctguy101(m): 3:20pm On Aug 31, 2025
Cannabis, or marijuana, is an herbal psychoactive drug from the Cannabis sativa plant, known for its intoxicating and non-intoxicating compounds called cannabinoids, with THC being the main psychoactive ingredient. It is used recreationally and medically, consumed by smoking, vaporizing, or in edibles. While it has potential medical uses, such as for nerve pain and nausea, it also carries risks, including increased heart rate, potential lung damage from smoking, and possible long-term mental health effects, especially in adolescents.

What it is:
A Plant: Cannabis is a genus of flowering plants that originated in Asia.
Chemical Compounds: The plant contains over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids, with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) being the most well-known.
Psychoactive Effects: THC is the primary psychoactive compound, responsible for the intoxicating "high" associated with cannabis.
Non-intoxicating CBD: CBD does not produce a high and is used in various medical products.
How it's used:
Recreational Use: In many places, it is used for its mind-altering effects.
Medical Use: Some people use cannabis to treat symptoms of certain conditions, though this should be discussed with a healthcare provider.
Methods of Consumption:
Smoking/Vaporizing: Dried leaves and flowers (marijuana) are smoked, or concentrates are vaporized.
Edibles: Cannabis can be infused into foods and baked goods.
Health Effects and Risks
Short-Term Effects:

These can include a rapid heart rate and, in some cases, red eyes due to expanded blood vessels.
Long-Term Effects:
Lung Health: Smoking cannabis can inflame and irritate the lungs, potentially leading to breathing problems and infections.
Heart Health: The increased heart rate from cannabis use can strain the heart, raising the risk of heart attack or stroke, especially for those with pre-existing heart conditions.
Mental Health: Long-term use can lead to issues with brain development and can be a risk factor for addiction.
Legal Status
Varies by Location: The legal status of cannabis differs significantly, with some areas permitting it for medical and/or recreational use, while others maintain strict prohibitions

We consume occasionally. But since the advent of the popularized altered versions are everywhere, we avoid all unless it's any we get from farms in Delta State.

It is sad that the Africans betraying and dehumanizing fellow brothers in league with inhouse or the neo-colonialist enemies started a long time ago and has persisted till date.

No local chiefs connived with the colonial masters(slave trader cum imperialist) to sell off opposition to their inordinate quest for wealth, fame and position at all the infamous "Port of No Return" in Badagry and Calabar.

The Aba Women riot was one of sad reminder to this fact. So sad, shameful and disgraceful and embarrassing for the African continent

questioner:
I did a business about 2 years ago outside of my 9 -5 and got reimbursed a pretty sum.

I had a plan that I started working on late last year, hoping it will materialize by mid this year but it fell through.
This week I just decided I wasn't going that line again.

I need to chart a new course by max early 2026

What's been running through my head now is
1. Japa - Leave thru the Acad route and when done, see what's next
2. Land - Buy in a good location and possibly 2 (or multiple) plots
3. House - Buy a small piece in a modest location and build 2 units of small apartment, one for rent, one for personal usage

Just decided to put this out there anonymously - If you were in my shoes which option will you choose, which will you definitely avoid and importantly why ?
I guess you have 20m or close to that on hand. And by the dead gods, why would any sensible person japa with that sum? To do what over there?

You'll build a house, don't rush yasef. Jesus of the bible advise that anyone who wants to build a house should calculate properly.

Go educate yasef financially. Start by listening to Dr Emmanuel Olumide on YouTube and whatever his ideas are, get more information on that and you'd be surprised that sum will build you a house without you spending a dime out of it.

Since this year alone ,I can vividly count how many celebrities that have had such horrible experience, reason is not that this Pop's are not strong, but after buying or renting the house many of them goes to add more decorations to it (modifying the existing POP, ADDING HEAVY LIGHTS , Changelings abi wetin , etc. Cos I have seen many people around me with this POP in their personal houses without issue for decades. (If u wan buy house go for structure test)
The reason is that casting POP is not that strong.

They should try and spend more if they want POP in their homes.

The one that comes with metal frames and boards is safer. One can even make provisions for heavy chandeliers during or even after the framing process.

And mind you, most of the houses in LEKKI, no matter how expensive do casting POP and the one that managed to use boards would have wooden framing. Developers na werey for that island. Small thing everything don fall for ya head.

Traumatize? From anything online? Nah. Won't happen.

We grew up in the days where mob beatings and burning of thieves were the norm. Even experienced boys in action, with guns pointing at my face and as usual, I searched myself and surrendered all valuables. What about many near misses that could've taken this ancestors' life? Can't remember all, just in close to 5 decades o. Plus my old man (peace be unto his soul) when he was alive get mind tell me that he thought mumsy will birth a girl "again" and almost aborted this King (how audacious of him)...

Na online things wan come traumatize this ancestor. No. We've not seen it all in life yet but for now no and nothing online would do that to us.
