In 2014, a carton of soap (60 pieces) was sold for N1,900. Today, it goes for N3,000 +. If prices of Pko rises, cost of soap rises too. You don't expect me to close shop simply because prices of fragrance, oil and caustic soda has risen.

Multinationals can no longer meet demand of consumers, leaving a huge demand gap for small soap makers particularly those in the rural area. If you are a small soap maker who buys in small batches, you will make lots of money. I use to sell my soap for N28, N40, and now N50.

The competition in the soap making niche isn't competitive anymore . The price of Pko, the basic ingredients for soap making has skyrocketed. Most large manufacturers aren't meeting up with demand, creating opportunity for small soap makers.
