HealthWoman Drank Herself To Death With Coca-cola by Cosmopolice(op): 4:49pm On Feb 12, 2013
A New Zealand woman's 2.2 gallon a day Coca-Cola habit was a major factor in her death, a coroner found Tuesday, urging the soft drink giant to put health warnings on its caffeinated products.

Natasha Harris, a 30-year-old mother of eight from Invercargill in southern New Zealand, drank huge amounts of the fizzy beverage for years before her death in February 2010, coroner David Crerar found.

He said Harris suffered from a number of health conditions which could be linked to the "extreme" amounts of Coke she downed, playing a role in the cardiac arrhythmia that finally killed her.

"I find that when all the available evidence is considered, were it not for the consumption of very large quantities of Coke by Natasha Harris, it is unlikely that she would have died when she died and how she died," he found.

He added that Harris's Coke habit "was a substantial factor that contributed to the development of the metabolic imbalances which gave rise to the arrhythmia".

A pathologist found Harris, who did not drink alcohol, had an enlarged liver due to fatty deposits caused by excessive sugar consumption and low potassium levels in her blood, which can affect cardiac function.

“Wizkid is going international and as a result we have to re-negotiate the contract he signed. Wizkid has his own idea of how he wants to do things and he has plans for himself too. Wizkid is still with us, there’s no problem, things will be sorted out soon” Banky W told Silverbird.

CrimeLiving Faith Church (AKA Winners Chapel) Youth Leader Leads Robbery Gang. by Cosmopolice(op): 3:39pm On Feb 03, 2013
Nemesis has caught up with a youth leader of the Living Faith Church in Okene, Kogi State, who professed to be a born-again Christian but was the leader of a 10-man robbery gang. The suspect (name withheld) who was described as very popular in the area, allegedly led his gang to break into the office of the pastor of the church in the night and carted away over N315,000 belonging to the church.
Ironically, he was one of the early callers to the church the next morning, and joined in raining curses on the perpetrators of the crime. Parading the suspects yesterday, at the police headquarters in Lokoja, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Musa Katsina, described the arrested suspects as a sledgehammer robbery gang. He said that the youth leader, “who led the robbery operation was seen the following morning, raining curses on the robbers and even invoking Holy Ghost fire on them, and now, the Holy Ghost fire has caught up with him.”
He said that the gang made up of bricklayers and block moulders specialize in breaking into shops and private residences, carting away goods and money. The Commissioner stated that the suspects were armed with guns and other dangerous weapons during their operations He said that they normally disguise as casual labourers going around residences and shops in search of potential victims. The police boss said the mother of the gang leader is a chorister in the same church. Answering reporters’ questions, the arrested youth leader confessed that he played the born-again youth leader in the day, and armed robber at night.
He confessed that he has led 27 robberies within Okene and Lokoja as well as Adavi local government areas. The Assistant Pastor of the church, Pastor Aloysius Momoh, who expressed surprise at the youth leader’s involvement in the crime, said that the church went into seven-day prayer and fasting shortly after the church was robbed, and God warned those behind the dastardly act to repent between May and December, last year, or be disgraced One of the victims, Paul Ikunagus, said over N2 million cash was stolen from his shop while one of them said he lost N5.8 million to the robbers who invaded his shop last December.
All the victims who spoke to Sunday Sun commended the police in the state under the leadership of Musa Katsina for bringing the elusive gang members to book. Items recovered from the suspects included one locally made gun, a jerk knife, two big hammers, handsets and clothes.

CultureRe: Why Do Nigerians Have A Problem With Self Disclosure? Blame it on the witches by Cosmopolice: 5:24pm On Jan 30, 2013
2legit2qwt: I’m bringing this up because a friend of mine recently lost the opportunity of securing a job and I only got to know after the fact, meanwhile, I could have easily helped him considering that I’m a good friend to the recruiter.

This friend (the one who didn’t get the job) had previously asked me some questions earlier in the week that suggested he was up to something, he just never told me why he asked and I never bothered to ask. This is just one of many cases of how secretive a lot of Nigerians/Africans are. In this case, someone missed a chance of getting a good job and there are several cases like that.

I’m not sure if it’s a cultural attribute of Nigerians or Africans but my biggest guess to why this exists is the strong belief in the existence of witchcraft. This friend of mine seem to think that I’m a wizard with some spiritual power or something to stop him from getting the job, I wish cheesy

A lot of Nigerians have a problem with self-disclosure, they only tell after the fact, some don’t even tell at all. They call you a friend but you don’t know when they’re about to buy a new car, move to a new house, get a new job, travel abroad, pass a test or are graduated from school.

The only thing I know they’re quick to tell is when they’re getting married, not sure why but other than that, you only get to find out about most things only after the fact.

How can you call someone a friend when you never get to experience their success but they’re quick to tell about their failure?
People learn from the experiences they have had in the past. Also the rumours that fly up and down in nigeria creates stigma in peoples mind. Another thing is that the days are evil, you can neva tell what someone who smiles with you has in his heart.

Music/RadioDavido’s Manager Debunks Stormy Breakup by Cosmopolice(op): 12:05pm On Jan 26, 2013
The news that David Adeleke aka Davido had sacked his manager, Asa Asika, started late last year as a beer parlour gist that soon crept into the social media. Some reports had it that Davido rudely gave his manager the boot, while others alleged that Davido’s super rich, doting father gave Asika the marching order, following the controversies and negative media reports that trailed Davido’s fun-loving and flamboyant music career in the past year. Others said that Asika was shown the door unceremoniously because of his inability to curb the youngster’s excesses in public and his penchant for strange bedfellows whose bedroom photographs keep popping up on the Internet.

However, in an interview with Saturday Beats, Asika described all the speculations and allegations as “untrue”.

Asika said, “Really, I don’t like to comment on an issue that requires me to negatively discuss my friends in the media. All I want to say right now is, my parting with my artiste is a joint decision and amicable. I enjoyed a cordial relationship with his father also.

“So, it is false that he or his very accommodating father gave me the boot; it’s a tough decision I took by myself with my artiste’s consent. He cannot tell you otherwise.”

Davido could not be reached as at press time.
