The news that David Adeleke aka Davido had sacked his manager, Asa Asika, started late last year as a beer parlour gist that soon crept into the social media. Some reports had it that Davido rudely gave his manager the boot, while others alleged that Davido’s super rich, doting father gave Asika the marching order, following the controversies and negative media reports that trailed Davido’s fun-loving and flamboyant music career in the past year. Others said that Asika was shown the door unceremoniously because of his inability to curb the youngster’s excesses in public and his penchant for strange bedfellows whose bedroom photographs keep popping up on the Internet.

However, in an interview with Saturday Beats, Asika described all the speculations and allegations as “untrue”.

Asika said, “Really, I don’t like to comment on an issue that requires me to negatively discuss my friends in the media. All I want to say right now is, my parting with my artiste is a joint decision and amicable. I enjoyed a cordial relationship with his father also.

“So, it is false that he or his very accommodating father gave me the boot; it’s a tough decision I took by myself with my artiste’s consent. He cannot tell you otherwise.”

Davido could not be reached as at press time.

An oil tankker seized by gunmen close to the Ivory Coast's port of Abidjan has been released after being hijacked last week, the Nigerian ship owner said on Tuesday.

"The entire cargo on board was discharged while the crew were locked up in the junior officers' mess room," said Rowaye Jubril, the chairman of Brila Energy.

The Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday night sent spies to observe the friendly match between Burkina Faso and Swaziland.
The Stallions of Burkina Faso are in Group C with Nigeria, as well as defending champions Zambia and Ethiopia at the South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
The move, our correspondent learnt, was part of the federation’s efforts to ensure that no stone was left unturned before Monday’s Group C clash between the Super Eagles and the Stallions.
The West Africans recorded a comprehensive 3-0 win over Swaziland in the game but the ‘Nigerian spies’ reportedly brought back positive reports ahead of the Group C opener.
Eagles media officer, Ben Alaiya, said there was no cause for alarm, assuring that the Eagles would claim all the three points in their first match of the competition.
Alaiya said, “Some members of the Technical Committee of the NFF were sent to spy on Burkina Faso during their friendly match against Swaziland on Thursday.
“Most of their players are known to us. Majority of them play in France’s first and second divisions. They play the West African game with a French touch.
“Burkina Faso have never been a problem to Nigeria. Remember we beat them 7-1 in Lagos during a Nations Cup qualifier in 1991. They should be the ones worrying over their chances against us.”

Facebook (FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new beta service called Graph Search.
Think of Graph Search as a way to navigate the Internet through the data Facebook owns.
Graph Search allows you to search across different friends' Timelines without having to go to each individual profile to figure out if they like a specific place or thing.
ABC News describes Graph Search as, "turning some of the personal information people have shared on Facebook into a powerful searchable database."
A potential graph query would look like, "Who are my friends that live in San Francisco?"  Graph Search will scan all your Facebook friend's pages and spit back the relevant information about friends who live in San Francisco.
Another potential search term could be, show me "friends who like Star Wars and Harry Potter" for a big movie night.
Graph Search is Facebook's way of searching for objects on the Internet by how they are mapped out in likes, not links. Metadata and connections are also factored in. Facebook is using Graph Search as a way to get back to its roots and allow people to use the graph to make new connections.
Graph Search is currently in beta but people, photos, places, and interests are at the foundation of the beta. If the data from your Graph Search is too general, you can refine the search to get specifically what you want.
Zuckerberg told an audience of journalists and Facebook engineers that, "every piece of content on Facebook has its own audience, making Graph Search very challenging to build."

Until now, the search bar you saw when you logged in to your Facebook page wasn't very powerful. You could only search for Timelines -- your friends' pages, other people's public pages and business or product pages.
But now, after close to a year and a half of development, the new "Graph Search" will allow you to search and discover more about your friends and other information that's been put on the world's largest social site.
In case you were wondering, Graph Search is privacy aware too, every piece of content has its own audience, most content is not public, and you can only search for content that has been shared with you.
