I have been meaning to ask you bro. which is the coldest city in Nigeria? and what is the temperature range?
Problemkid1: Did you watch that video when were going to Jabi lake Mall. When she was saying 'wow Abuja roads are very wide' and clean, just like London no traffic. Unlike Nairobi that there's alot of traffic!
beans is my favorite meal especially with rice I can eat it everyday, swallow? perhaps we call it a different name, how is it prepared?
Problemkid1: Yeah you're right. Protein food is good. Most especially beans, I prefer eating beans than any other food. Do you guys eat swallow in your country
but those are living things, am begging my fellow human beings to stop indiscriminate killing of animals in the name of food, anyway people will eat whatever they want, myself am a vegan and I love it. try it you'll never regret, less trips to the hospital is just one benefit, I cannot recall the last time I fell sick.
samorobo: We dont eat living things. We only kill and cook...it's called point and kill
what I hate about African food is that they are heavy with less nutrition, I mean its just large bowls filled with carbohydrates and protein, Africans rarely eats healthy.
Problemkid1: You have the biggest African dishes restaurant in America and so what? You really need to eat Nigeria food and see what they call food
I mean we kill animals without a care in the world, sometimes we just kill them before their families, people should be vegetarian, for proteins at least eat beans and drink lots of milk, but that's just me.
why do people insist on eating living things?! suppose cows would have a joint where they sell human beings fried or roasted! I don't eat live things and don't stand the sight of people eating them either.
yes ooh, it's a scandalous situation we find ourselves in year in year out, you see maize is the staple food in Kenya, that means virtually all Kenyans consume ugali, so this greedy politicians make the cost of growing maize in Kenya very expensive through taxation then conspire with other shady people in and out of govt to import cheap maize often tax free, making the locally grown maize very expensive, this criminal act is driving many maize farmers out of the business.
obaaderemi: That's bad. Another thing I don't understand is how maize has become a political issue in Kenya. I heard some of the big men create artificial scarcity of the stuff so they can import from Tanzania and Uganda while Kenyan farmers are left holding the sack.
that guy is a fool, a thug to be specific, he is trying to invite Kenyans to beat other Africans, well that will never happen, just wait and see, he will be summoned by the DCI anytime from now, he will regret ever uttering such words, and woe into him if in the ultimum he has given any forum is killed or beaten, he will rot in hell.
What is your take on this issue of xenophobia in Kenya.Currently, your MP from Starehe constituency have issued 24 hours for businesspeople mainly Tanzanians,Pakistanis,Rwandese,Ugandans etc to leave immediately.
Kazikazi: You are spot on! Its tribalism in Kenyan economy which made where Kenya is currently.Even here, when I rebuked these Kenyans on issues of tribalism especially that which was directed to u,many protested. But as I said, you are a Luo,they are Kikuyus who hates you! They don't wanna agree with you on many stuff just because of their deep rooted tribalism.
tribalism and vested interest must be dealt with decisively for Kenya to develop, sugarcane growing has been killed in the sugar belt (luoland and Luyialand) due to vested interested, right now majority of rice from kano planes is exported to Uganda unprocessed the imported back as processed, we just need visionary leaders you look to the next generation otherwise the dream of middle income country by 2030 is dead on arrival
kenya too has the potential to grow enough rice for her population, especially in my native luoland, we have large tracks of land in nyakach and kano planes, the only problem in Kenya is politicization of food production.
hehe jos , i read somewhere one of there traditional kings threatening to throw members of a certain tribe into the lagos lagoon if they don't vote according to the wishes of the locals. i was really depressed
TayserMahri: The usual Kenyan wisdom is slowly crawling back into you. Lakini umedanganya kidogo but ni sawa
TayserMahri: Only drunkards, chimneys and punters are complaining. I assume you are all three
i neither smoke nor drink, but i bet occasionally when there is a big sporting event such as champions league final. anyway am not in the mood for arguments, i was only pointing out a potential shift in revenue to the two countries and an increase in illicit trade.
before stumbling upon this thread, i used to spend most of my time on nairaland on sections such as immigration and culture, and i have come to learn a lot about Nigeria from the culture section especially. i use to think that tribalism in kenya was the worse until i discovered the culture section, the the much hyped hatred between luos and kikuyus in kenya is nothing compared to igbo and yoruba hatred, in Kenya, tribes only quarrel not fight in the run up to election, after elections, we embrace each other and the journey continues for the next five years, what i have read on those sections makes me believe that tribalism in Kenya is still at infancy. Again in Kenya we do not practice ethnic nationalism, you will never hear tribes 'claiming' cities or regions and threatening other tribes with violence if they do not vote in a particular way or do certain things, am therefore submitting to us that Kenyan tribalism only exist among politicians at elections at not among the citizen because they do not want to be interrogated on issues,Nigerian should embrace one Nigeria even when politician mobilize along ethnic lines
TayserMahri: Dont you think you should be noticing the drop in budget from last yr? Im sure you didnt even know it is a drop. Where were you last year? If you made similar complaints then they have been taken into account and hence the reduction this year. If you make more noise next year it will be even lower. And tell your daughter she already in debt and she's the lucky one
alcohol and cigarette smuggling from Uganda and Tanzania to get worse after the Gok increased the excise duty on the two commodities, some people who were consuming the low end beer such as Keg senator to be pushed into consuming illicit brews, i also foresee a situation where Kenyan punters will resort to using foreign bookies as opposed to local bookies thereby denying govt the very revenue they were after, this is why i say KRA should tax better
gallivant: Envy is not good. Kenya's budget is 3,020,000,000,000 (three trillion) Kenya shillings, equivalent to 68,403,000,000,000 (sixty eight trillion) Tanzania shillings, or 10,721,000,000,000 (ten trillion) Nigerian naira. # cossano
and am happy that the budget as grown that big over the past few years, the only problem i have is the deficit, our fiscal space is diminishing fast, KRA needs to stop taxing more and start taxing better, this budget did not favor the poor, and for your info am not in anyway envious of GoK. Just concerned for me and my young daughter
Kazikazi: very true! You can't pretend to live like a king while you are poor.GOK wants to borrow 6b to fund the budget! Its quite high. And out of those borrowed cash, there is a chunk which goes into corrupted elites.
most Kenyans actually know that this kind of borrowing is damaging to the future growth of our country but would rather keep quiet, but even if we complain is not like anything will change, politicians will keep having their way as usual as the ordinary Kenyan is squeezed to the last drop, taxes keep going up and up making life more unbearable, i mean you cannot grow a nation through taxation and borrowing.
obaaderemi: Budget? A third of that budget goes to paying debt. Another third is stolen. What is left is misappropriated. That's why they starve!
that budget of ours has nothing to celebrate, i always wonder why have a bigger budget that you cannot fully finance, is like having a bigger budget than your salary, you'll only end up in a recurrent debt, i predict tougher times ahead for Kenya unless the wage bill and the massive corruption is reduced
1.Land ownerships. Most lands in Kenya is under big boys. These are politicians, white folks and some big businesses men who are connected to the elites
2.Rural neglects Kenyan gov for ages have neglected most parts of rural areas. These caused a lot of folks to migrate from northern Kenya and stuck in cities without any means of surviving
3.Capitalism I think they applied capitalism to the extreme. The Kenyan gov should have interfered in land prices especially in some areas of urban areas to make it affordable to most Kenyans who are generally poor. But,to my surprise, many Kenyans takes pride when a plot of land in Nairobi costs more than Dar
4.Poverty.When u digest all the above, the bottom line is Kenyans are too poor to get out of slums
pole bro. so you also outlived that madness this is a good project let it be completed coz am about to take up some pension papers at the same college but whenever i think of that traffic i just develop a cold feet.
I agree, the traffic there is on another level, use to study at college of insurance at south c and i know the pain i went through plying that road, sometimes i could miss a whole lesson in the morning, i think our leaders have heard our wailing!
Its a double decker 53km expressway from JKIA to James Gichuru, the good thing about this project is that its a PPP, and its st to begin in september and it will take 2 years to complete, this is sweet news. i have been praying for this road for years now.
i tell you Westlands has changed really fast, i use to work at equitorial commercial centre, off muthangari drive none of those numerouse towers i see on that picture existed, at that time the only visible tower was the delta towers, i saw its construction. whats the name of the round one?
these roads, these roads will change the face of nairobi forever, add the affordable housing scheme ( the courts should throw away that case) will make nairobi very beautiful in deed. i pray for Gods speed in execution of these projects.
Mkenya2019: Nairobi massive road constructions ongoing or starting or completed soon - huge road investment around the country. 1) JKIA - James Gichuru expresseway - 670M dollars. 2) Expansion of Northern & Eastern bypass - 400M dollars 3) James G- Rironi -210M dollars. 4) Western By-pass - 170M dollars. 5) Thika Superhighway - 400M dollars. 6) Outering road -180M dollars 7) Missing ring roads - several - worth million of dollars. Dualing of several roads - worth million of dollars
