Netflix recently released the first trailer and first look of Nigerian Young Adult series ‘Far From Home’ , following the announcement of the show.

‘Far From Home’ is the story of Ishaya, a charismatic teenager and talented artist from a poor family whose dreams are suddenly realized when he receives a prestigious scholarship to the country’s most exclusive school, catapulting him into the luxurious world of Nigeria’s elite. Meanwhile, a huge secret threatens his newfound status and, ultimately, the safety of his family.

Starboy Entertainment boss, Wizkid bagged a major boost in his career after getting Drake to collaborate with him in the remix of his hit track 'Ojuelegba'. The duo later went on to work on 'Come Closer' off Wizkid's 2017 mixtape 'Sounds From The Other Side'.

Sen. Godswill Akpabio has now released the list after being given 48 hours to produce the list of the Senators and House of Representatives members involved in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio submitted the names to the National Assembly committees probing the activities of the commission last Thursday.

The list was part of a letter the Minister sent to the National Assembly and also copied the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

Akpabio on the NDDC public hearing said the most NDDC contracts where given to Senators and House Representatives.

In Akpabio’s letter, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi was involved in 53 projects, while Senator Nicholas Mutu’s name appeared on 74 projects.

Also named in the list are Senator Mathew Urhoghide (six), James Manager (six), Sam Anyanwu (19) and others simply identified as Ondo and Edo Reps.

Akpabio addressed the letter to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who had threatened to drag him before the court if he fails to name the lawmakers that had benefited from NDDC contracts..

The letter read in part: “I refer to the resolution of the House passed on the 21st July 2020 and forwarded to me on the same day Ref. NASS/HR/LEG/3/36/VOL.ll/O8 directing me to respond to the contents therein within 48.”

In the letter, the Minister explained that the Committee on NDDC did not allow him to provide detailed explanation of his claim that most contracts in the commission were being awarded yearly since 2001 to members of the National Assembly in both Chambers.

He said, however, that the two Chairmen of the Committees in both Chambers had adequate knowledge of the contracts.

“I never referred to members of the 9th National Assembly as beneficiaries of NDDC contracts as NDDC is yet to fully implement any NDDC budget since the commencement of the 9th National Assembly. In fact. the 2019 budget passed in February and harmonised between the 4th and 5th of March 2020 was received by the Commission in the middle of April, 2020, when same was designated to expire on the 31st of May, 2020,” Akpabio continued.

“However, it is pertinent to point out that the Clerk of the National Assembly forwarded a letter Ref. NASS/CNA/115/VOL.38/1175, dated 20th March, 2020, without attaching the budget details indicating that the 2020 budget of the NDDC passed into Law was being forwarded (copy of the letter is attached as Annexure ‘A’). This anomaly was brought to the attention of the Senate Ad Hoc Committee investigating a purported financial recklessness by the management of the commission in July 2020, though the first outcry was on allegation of missing N40bn which was totally untrue;

“It has always been known that the two chairmen of the committees on NDDC in both chambers yearly exhibit unusual influence to the exclusion of committee members and even the management of the NDDC in appropriating funds to details embellished in the budget after passage of line items at the plenaries. In the 2019 budget, the Executive Director Projects forwarded to me the attached list of 19 Nos. old contracts amounting to almost N9bn after tax, that the House of Representatives Committee Chairman on NDDC, Honourable Tunji-Ojo, insisted the IMC of NDDC must pay before 2019 budget details could be released to the commission (see Annexure ‘A1’),” he said.

Nigeria's President Mohammadu Buhari has revealed his position on Victor Osimhen's move to Napoli.

The country's Deputy Ambassador to Italy, Franklin Ogunyemi, says that President Muhammadu Buhari is happy with the decision of Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen to join Serie A giants, Napoli.

According to him,

“The entire Nigerian diplomatic mission, headed by Ambassador Yusuf Jonga Hinna, is very happy with Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Naples.

“We know that the head of state of our country, Muhammadu Buhari, is also happy with this transfer. Osimhen is a young but already very strong footballer.”

Big Brother Naija housemates sat down their fellow housemate, Ozo on Thursday night to question him on why he is yet to make a move on Nengi who is his kind of woman.
The late-night conversation was an interesting one to watch as the housemates engaged both Ozo and Nengi concerning the state of their relationship in the house, to see if there’s the potential of that ship sailing.

On Wednesday, rumours of Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, aka Hushpuppi’s release went viral on social media, accompanied with screenshots of the Bureau of Prisons website.

According to the details on the website, Hushpuppi was released on July 20.

However, we have ascertained that the 37-year-old was only moved to California.

On July 4, we reported that the United States Department for Justice had said Hushpuppi was facing a 20-year maximum sentence in prison.

The DOJ confirmed his arrival in Chicago, but noted that “he is expected to be “transferred to Los Angeles in the coming weeks”.

FBI’s Special Agent, Andrew John Innocenti, said in a criminal complaint filed before the United States District Court for the Central District of California that “beginning no later than October 15, 2019, and continuing through at least October 17, 2019, in the county of Los Angeles, in the Central District of California, and elsewhere, the defendant conspired to launder proceeds fraudulently obtained from a law firm.”

Hushpuppi’s case has now been transferred from Illinois, Chicago to the Central District of California for prosecution.

The 37-year-old and Olakekan Jacob, aka Woodberry were extradited to the United States, after they were apprehended by Dubai Police, following investigations into several online fraud targeting individuals and companies.
