The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has deployed 6,000 personnel and 14 units of Police Mobile Force personnel to compliment the personnel of Rivers Command for the March 19 re-run election in the state.

This is contained in statement issued by the Force spokesperson, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Olabisi Kolawole and issued to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja.

It stated that three commissioners of police had also been deployed to supervise security arrangements in Rivers-East, West and South-East senatorial districts.

The statement said that Arase had also directed the Assistant Inspector-General in charge of Zone 6 Calabar, AIG Adisa Baba Bolanta to relocate to Port Harcourt for pre-election preparations.

It added that the Deputy Inspector-General in charge of Operations, DIG Sontoye Wakama, had also been directed to proceed to Rivers to hold meetings with stakeholders and Police officers in the state command.

It said that Arase assured law abiding electorate of a secure and enabling environment to exercise their franchise.

It warned security details not to accompany their principals and politicians to polling booths and collation centres during the elections.

The statement emphasised that only security personnel specially assigned for election duties must be seen within and around the designated places.

It said that the deployment was part of strategies to prevent electoral violence and ensure smooth and orderly conduct of the elections

It stated that three commissioners of police had also been deployed to supervise security arrangements in Rivers-East, West and South-East senatorial districts.

I was going through my normal daily news papers online yesterday, contributed to some interested topics and made some arguments with some anti corrupt crusade, haven't done that I proceeded to The Nation news paper where it was bombarded with fraudulent comments by scammers..eg buy Dangote cements and customs cars, I choose to play along the guy with Custom format since I've some free call access b4 it expired cool

dialed his contact number n spoke wt him: I told him I got his contact from his advert on The Nation online news and I'm deadly interested in one d cars due to d low cost, I told him I need Lexus RX 330 he said it's 1.250M. shocked

car that I just got few months for a very close friend of mine at 1.9M..I smiled and told him I couldn't avoid it as it was out of my budget, he was eager to know my budget and I told him I can only avoid 1.1M then we both agreed. cool

here comes where he wanted to play the game as a sharp guy,he said I should send my details to prepare the registration after that I'm gonna pay 90K for the registration with another 30K for the driver who will drive d car down to my house because custom won't allow me to come into the yard without proper invitation and custom permit..busted grin

I sent my details as requested by d custom officer, this time around he was the one who called to confirmed the receipt of my text, he said he will begin the process of my papers document with immediate effect and he will text me account info where the registration fee and driver charges will be transfer to..Can you imagine? The game was so interesting though! Within couple of minutes he text me a personal bank act with access bank and called to confirm if I received d txt! Yes sir I do received the txt but my worries now is d acct bn a personal acct, he said my brother I'm doing this for you as a favor, d acct belong to financial officer that will assist in getting d car out of here, I said ok. Here's d acct information he sent to scam me: as in me I laugh tire. ACT NAME: ESHILAMA MICHAEL AMOS. ACT NO: 0694621118. ACCESS BANK.. does people really falls to these local scams?

There are more to this story. he tried to steal the human body 2 hours after they buried the deceased people are usually buried during the day and its difficult to comprehend why someone would go stealing a corpse in the day time, just barely 2hrs after. They should tell us what really transpired.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has insisted that the DG of DSS, Mr. Lawal Daura, is not a card-carrying member of the party, saying nothing short of producing Mr. Daura’s membership card or evidence of his membership registration will convince discerning Nigerians that he is indeed a member of the APC as alleged by the PDP.
"While it amounts to rabble-rousing and crass politicking for the PDP to have wrongly accused Mr. Daura of being a member of the APC without a scintilla of credible evidence, the PDP has weakened its argument by using the pictures in which Mr. Daura appeared with the President and the fact that he served in an election committee as evidence of his membership of the APC,” the party said in a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

”Possession of an APC membership card by Mr. Daura or evidence of registration as a party member at his ward, local government or state will be the only conclusive evidence of his membership of the party,” it said. ”Until such an evidence is produced, we are sorry we have to tell the PDP to shut up!” APC said the PDP is jittery because it is keenly aware of the kind of impunity perpetrated under the federal government it sired from 1999 to 2015.

”PDP has forgotten the saying that he who must come to equity must come with clean hands. When Mr. Mike Okiro chaired the security committee of the PDP campaign in 2011, did that prevent him from being appointed the Chair of the Police Service Commission, which is responsible for issues concerning the welfare, promotion and discipline of all police personnel, in 2013?

”When the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri, was appointed into the Jonathan election committee in 2015, did he resign his appointment as head of the agency or did he automatically become a card-carrying member of the PDP?

”Did retired Col. Kayode Are not become the DG of the DSS despite being a close confidante of Gen. Obasanjo during his electioneering campaign to become President? Was this not under a PDP Federal Government? ”In any case, even in the world’s most advance democracy, United States, was a card-carrying Democrat, Mr. Leon Panetta, not named as head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) by President Barack Obama in 2009?
