RomanceRe: 54-Year-Old American Sends Monthly Money To 36-Year-Old Nigerian Online Lover by Cousin9999:
Fake.

But there are people like this who value certain things over others even when it makes no sense. It's like men who would rather be in a transactional relationship with a baddie over a decent looking woman who really loves them. A fat woman like her could just date a fat guy that genuinely loves them, or they could just lose the weight. 5 laws of human stupidity.

ETA: There's another layer to this. Even though someone like this is being used, they get off on having control over the person and the fact that the person is basically begging them.

TravelRe: Before Calling The Diaspora Stingy, Ask Yourself This by Cousin9999: 7:15pm On Jul 02
People shouldn't feel entitled. But I can't imagine not sending money when what's barely any money abroad will make a world of difference for family back home. I couldn't do it.

It's one thing if you're barely managing, but if you're comfortable and don't want for anything, it's kind of bizarre. If it's family that was evil to you, I understand, but others? Why? As long as people aren't draining your wallet, what's the problem?

I feel like this is a more common mentality with black people. I mean, I'm not close with nonblacks, so maybe I'm not aware of the same gripe. But it seems like a segment of black people, regardless of nationality, have this mentality that they shouldn't do anything for family, even their children, or only the bare minimum. I think this is a symptom of poverty, insecurity, and maybe internalized racism. Some call it a scarcity mindset.

ETA: Some people also see their family as competition. They have this dysfunctional view that their own blood should be poorer. It's disgusting.

I live in America. And I never said it was a s**thole. But it has real problems. And many of these problems are part of a global issue. The 1%.

Omoawoke:
That’s one thing I’ve never understood despite how long I’ve been here

I’ve never ever understood why tipping is almost compulsory and if you don’t do it, they make you look like a criminal

I’ve never ever understood and may never understand the rationale behind compulsory tipping in America
Americans have been brainwashed into blaming and demonizing each other for what the 1% (mega rich) should be doing. So, they don't vote to establish fair wages under the law. They don't create/join unions to create a fair/safe work environment with appropriate wages and benefits. They don't vote for controlled immigration. They don't vote for controls on the cost of living and a stronger safety net. And they're pathologically racist and vote against anything they believe benefits black people.

Instead they get angry at people for being "cheap" or "broke" or even hating poor people when they don't tip. And they blame them for why they can't pay their bills. There used to be a time in America when a waitress could afford an apartment just from being a waitress, not a nice apartment, but still decent housing. The 1% destroyed that.

They claim that unions are full of lazy people. They ignore how the 1% carefully crushed unions.

They claim rampant illegal immigration doesn't displace millions of Americans from decent paying jobs. They claim people are imagining it or making it up. Yet whenever those places get raided, magically Americans are working there. And Indians have all but invaded America in the last 15 years to fill fabricated shortages. Engineers have struggled with getting jobs for decades. Americans were told to get IT education, they did and now they can't get jobs and are getting laid off by the thousands.

They vote against more and denser housing, which makes affordable, decent housing available to everyone, and close to jobs and essential services. They vote against development of more public transportation, which would reduce the cost of living and make employment and services more accessible for everyone. They're anti "welfare," which elderly, sick, unemployed, and others need.

They're obsessed with black people not having anything to the point that they will vote against their own interests to prevent it. There are white people with major health problems who cannot work that are losing access to healthcare, food, and housing benefits because they voted for Trump. Toni Morrison talks about the deleterious effect of the profound psychosis known as racism. This is one of the motivations behind these behaviors. Some of it is probably also their neanderthal DNA.

ETA: They vote against the 1% paying taxes, which would probably clear all of America's debt and finance a bunch of stuff the country desperately needs.

Because it's a dead end job that even Americans don't want, if you did not attend a US military academy and become an officer, joining as a recruit is a dead end carrer and the only glamour is you think you are peppering Nigerians back home who know no better. Being a soldier in the US offers no special advantage, olopa can handcuff you and lock you up if you misbehave, every Tom , Dick and Harry wears the same camo you are wearing and nobody born you to say a word to them.
Many Americans don't want to do it because of the danger. And anyone with a college degree can become an officer in the US military. I don't know how you define "dead end," but your options in the military and after service are pretty broad, whether you're an officer or not. The only thing limiting you is yourself.

The majority of military jobs don't require running and gunning. You're more likely to do office or mechanic work as a US soldier than chase down ISIS or whatever they're calling themselves now.

So you say, well I don't judge men based on what they say, on what they do, given the options practically we know the results.
This reminds me. One of the reasons some men are on this bs is because black people don't enforce like other groups. People talk about staying on code, but not enforcement. Other groups will punish their people for bs. Black people will defend it or look the other way. Why should black people punish it? It's racism. No, it's not colorism -- it's racism. It's also mental illness. Yes, mental illness. Which of course shouldn't be punished, but treated.

Why? Are there no other career options? Why do Black foreigners always join the US Army?
It's a practical option. Here's why:

- It's a federal government job.
- There's less discrimination in hiring and promoting.
- It's a more accessible opportunity for the average person.
- You get strong job security.
- Your retirement benefits are awesome if you clock 20 years.
- You get a salary and housing (or allowance), food allowance, and free gear for work.
- You get job training and often extensive experience given the nature of the job.
- You get a free college education while active, and they'll pay off student loans or you can get the GI Bill. If you don't use the GI Bill, you can transfer it to your child. You also get free access to professional credentials.
- Veterans have a number of benefits outside of the service that other people don't. Some people aren't even aware of how many things they have access to, and the list keeps growing over time.
- Companies find veterans more attractive employees given the nature of their work experience and the discipline and other things required of them.

A foreigner gets all these benefits along with citizenship. Even if they return to their country, they can still collect.
CrimeUS: $6.5B In Medicaid Fraud by Cousin9999(op): 2:06am On Jun 25
Mostly Asians and Latinos

More than 450 alleged fraudsters — including 90 doctors and medical professionals — were busted for bilking at least $6.5 billion in fake Medicare and Medicaid claims, with one greedy nurse splashing her ill-gotten gains on an $865,000 Bulgari necklace, a $594,000 Ferrari and a $4.6 million Philippines beach resort, authorities said.

The colossal crackdown, which spanned 45 US states and territories, was announced Tuesday by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who called it “the greatest combined federal and state effort combating health care fraud in history.”

In total, 455 people were netted — including alleged con artists who took the taxpayer funds meant to help the poorest Americans and blew them on luxury cars, jewelry, mansions, fine art, an NFL box and a yacht cheekily named Butt Nekkid.

In one of the most egregious cases, a student athlete in Florida died during basketball practice — after the doctor who was part of an $89 million fraud scheme signed off on his cardiovascular test after giving it only a cursory glance, the Department of Justice charged.

A nurse in Texas was charged with billing Medicare for $1 million for each patient to whom she applied unnecessary tissue grafts, the feds alleged.

Marizel Yukee, 49, of Las Vegas, was charged with fraudulently billing $906 million in claims for which she was paid $297 million. She allegedly funneled the stolen funds to buy posh cars, real estate, jewelry and even built a $4.6 million beach resort in the Philippines, prosecutors claimed.

When she was arrested, the feds seized $30 million from her bank accounts, $467,000 in cash, a $594,000 Ferrari 296 GTS, seven other luxury vehicles, an $865,000 custom Bulgari necklace and another million worth of jewelry, officials claimed.

Separately, three Florida nurses were busted for a $118 million tissue graft scheme. Leigh Tesar allegedly spent $215,000 on a luxury box suite at the Raymond James Stadium, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play, according to a criminal indictment.

RomanceRe: Why I Don't Dream Of Marriage - 46-Year-Old Nigerian Lady by Cousin9999: 3:35am On Jun 22
There are people like this who don't want a long-term companion or spouse, but still have relationships and lovers. And there's the ones who prefer to have a long-term partner that they never marry because they're afraid of marriage for some reason.

If she wanted to be married, she could be. It's not really that hard to find someone. It seems the main people who aren't married (who want to be) either have a ridiculous wishlist for a partner, they're a terrible person, or they don't want to settle for someone they don't actually like.

But this person just wants engagement.
RomanceRe: "Men Are Polygamous By Nature" A Genuine Fact Or Just An Excuse For Cheating? by Cousin9999: 3:22am On Jun 22
Male biology pretty much exists as it is for the purpose of producing a bunch of kids. So you can definitely argue that evolutionary biology shows polygamy is natural for men.

And it's an undeniable truth that once a man is partnered, he attracts a lot more women. He also attracts far more attractive women.

But lots of women cheat too.

I think it comes down to the fact that some people, regardless of gender, are really impressed and entertained by sleeping with new people. They act like virgin teens their whole life. Maybe they're just wired that way. No idea. But there's this whole "ethical nonmonogamy" thing (new term for swingers), so maybe we need to mind our business while encouraging people to practice safe intimacy.
RomanceRe: Beauty Vs Compatibility: The Relationship Debate Nobody Wants To Have by Cousin9999:
1. "Beauty" is subjective. There are people who will swear any bleached person is gorgeous regardless of what the person looks like.

2. Attraction isn't purely about "beauty." Lots of goofy-looking people are very desired. Lots of guys/women who have no specific "sexy" look are able to charm the pants off anyone.

3. It's just not possible to marry someone you're incompatible with unless you're extremely transactional.

4. Some people have untreated issues and they fixate on certain characteristics in a partner over anything that actually matters. There's no amount of guidance that will change their view and behavior. 5 Basic Laws of Human Stupidity.

5. There isn't enough "beauty" in the world to make up for someone being... unpleasant. But there's no amount of pleasant that can make you hörny for someone who possesses nothing you find attractive.

It's the same problem no matter where you are in the world.
BusinessRe: Historical Accounts Of Textile Factories In Nigeria by Cousin9999: 5:30am On Jun 20
The 1% refuses to pay workers, so they keep moving production around (China, Mexico, etc), even resorting to creating more inmates for prison labor (private prisons). China is "successful" because there are no labor protections, and human rights is a joke there (like Mexico). But even in China, the cost of labor is rising.

Eventually, people will wake up or the 1% will run out of cheap/slave labor. Then again, they'll just create slave labor some way if people don't wake up.

That said, there's also:
