The narrative that most of these people are helpless victims needs to stop.

I don't know the stats, but it seems that people in toxic relationships tend to be people who place looks, money, "excitement," or "cool" above all else. They literally don't care that the person is awful. If they don't care, neither should you.

They apparently do that thing where they're separated from the tribe while that happens. They use a cloth for hygiene. Don't know what else they do. But some use modern products for that.

So apparently, just like smoking meat prevents decay, the same thing happens when you take a smoke bath. It kills bacteria. It's like using a strong chemical on the body. The body rub they use and the smoke baths use aromatic herbs. And the body rub has antibacterial/antimicrobial properties as well. They not only may have no body odor at all, but they could smell amazing.

Most people aren't fooled or manipulated. It's like romance "scams." There's very little scamming going on there. Just a bunch of people who refuse to make mature decisions in their love life.

In rural areas, it's partially because they need help on the farm.

It's also social pressure in some places where, right or wrong, if you don't have a bunch of kids, people think something is wrong with you.

I do think it's irresponsible for people to take the risk of passing the disease. But I think people do it because they just aren't educated enough about disease and genetics. But maybe they're just selfish.

If you need people's validation of your worth, then you don't respect yourself enough. You dress to be comfortable not to show people how much you are worth. True they say dress the way you want to be addressed but it's a form of deep seated insecurity if you wear expensive things to prove a point. It means you've not grown.

The worst is designer clothes, why will I be doing free modelling for you? Before oyinbo came with all their nonsense, we were wearing clothes. Na tailor de sew am, buy material but I dress well. Anything that has a logo on it, I don't buy them at all. You're right. Especially about traditional clothes. However, you probably wouldn't leave your house in clothes that look like rags. And a healthy reason someone should seek expensive clothes is the reality that those expensive clothes are beautiful art tailored for your body. It's not about the label, even though that's what many chase. It's no different from well-made traditional clothes.

And I argue that the way you dress is part comfort, part personal expression (everybody has favorite clothes), part peacocking (everybody likes to look at least a little sexy), and part representing who you are (you wouldn't want someone to think you're shady).

Don't worry about looking "expensive" until you have a budget to experiment with. And being in shape does more for your look than your style. Exercise is free too.

Guys have it easy, all you need is a good line up, slacks, white shirt, tie, and decent shoes. And men's clothes are cheaper.

Most women look good with braids, locs, or an afro style. No need for all that wig nonsense. And natural hair is more feminine and attractive. A decent blouse, slacks/skirt, shoes, and matching jewelry works for most women. Skincare and makeup definitely makes a difference, but that's it's own topic.

Basically, dress like you're going to church. grin

Nice-looking clothes are far more accessible than they've probably ever been. And if you don't know how to put stuff together, there's tons of apps and websites that you can put your photo and videos on to get not just suggestions, but where to buy everything, and within your budget.

A vicious beaver that attacked an 8-year-old boy in New Jersey — before the fast-acting victim catapulted it back into a lake in a video that has since gone viral — has tested positive for rabies, authorities said.

The rowdy rodent had already bitten multiple people at Lake Henry in the Continental Soldiers Park complex when it was filmed chasing the young boy out of the water and biting him while he was fishing with his family.

While cops were investigating the attack, they alerted animal control personnel to the beaver, who found that it was exhibiting signs of possible illness, Capt. Michael Blondin of the Mahwah Police Department told NorthJersey.com.

The beaver has since tested positive for rabies, the Mahwah Township Health Department said in a Facebook update on Tuesday.

"Individuals who were bitten are currently receiving treatment. If you have had any contact with this animal, please notify the Mahwah Township Health Department immediately,” the statement continued.

“You will need to be assessed by a doctor for medical treatment. Everyone is advised to avoid wildlife,” it went on.

"The unidentified 8-year-old boy was with his family at Lake Henry at around 6 p.m. Sunday when the beaver exited the lake and charged him,” Capt. Blondin said earlier.

The child began to run away but tripped. The animal bit the child in the upper thigh and continued to attack him,” he added.

There's no jobs in Malaysia for Nigerians, and the country is full of Indian racists. Indonesians (Bali) are also racist. Mauritius is full of Indian racists too. Qatar is an Arab shithole where slavery is legal (kafala system). Maldives is a gutter, nothing there.

People telling you to go to these places are trying to scam you out of money for visa "assistance," or they want to traffick you or exploit your desperation and try to involve you in crime.

Those men are likely getting deported because they don't know how to act like they have sense. But some of them got scammed, and no gender has a monopoly on that.

There are people with access to good public transportation that think a car is a necessity.

Poverty mentality is people who are so emotional about money and appearance that they drive to a store that's a 10 minute walk away. It's people that can easily and comfortably get to work on a bus, but choose to have a car they can't afford.

It's not just a Nigerian thing. The entire world pretty much has been manipulated into valuing a car as more than transportation. This is a combination of corporations and social pressure. People often get the car because they actually think it makes a statement about their financial stability. Some people fear, actually fear, what people will say/think if they don't have one. In some cases, it's a poverty mentality where all sorts of different trauma responses make them feel as though they must have the car. But some people have a legitimate gripe because they spent years waking up very early to take multiple buses. They're tired and I don't blame them.

To me, having a car is pointless unless you have a business that relies on it. A truck is different because it's equipment, not just a car. Another exception is people in very rural areas who simply cannot afford to move and a car is the only way they can work.

One of the biggest lies ever told is that cars are fun. Nonsense. What's fun is when you can access just about anything in 15 minutes or less by train, and you can just chill and read or listen to music on the way.
