AbdelKabir: so in essence, in your understanding, ALL sunnah are not conpulsory, and if you don't do them, you not are sinning? Mr Know all. You don't have to sound sacastic. If you want to make a point, please make it. |
Islam › Re: Oshogbo Connect by coveredchic(f): 11:25am On Jan 21, 2017 |
I'm specifically referring to Islamic laws and ethics. The first source is the Quran and the laws from the Quran are fardh i. e compulsory. The sunnah are liked acts. There is no sin if you omit them. And the other sources are qiyas and ijma. Just trying to make myself clear. |

In Islamic jurisprudence, fardh comes before sunnah. So, what about a fardh loving sister? |

What about the hadith that says a wedding should be joyous and merry? |
Islam › Re: Seven Things You Must Avoid In Your Waleematu-nikkah by coveredchic(f): 1:01pm On Jan 20, 2017 |
hammak1993: Image is different from picture. what the hadith's is referring to is those that draw images, just like the artist and sculptor that creates images. Just like the people of Noah that create images of their pious ones after their death.
Islam doesn't condemn pictures, the only condition pictures are not allowed, is when using pictures of sheikhs as necklace and other aspect which can leads to 'shrik' (associating partner with God)
Allahu Allam Thank you for pointing this out. I've been speechless. |

walexsho: Bro, You need to consider a lot before taking that Job. Will the Job add value to your Credential... From experience, After NYSC Feb 2014 I was at home for 7 months, Out of desperation I took up a Teaching Job of 26k with the hope I'll get a better offer, I didn't Study Educational course in school but switched to Educational line, After 2 years 2months of Teaching I decided to resign knowing I'm only killing myself cos age is no longer on my side and the Job has not added value to my career except I want to remain a Teacher all my life. I've resigned and searching for Job but they have been telling me I do not have the required Experience... So painful that I've wasted 2 years of my career life Exactly my situation. No value added whatsoever. |

thesicilian: Nigerians are indeed an interesting set of people. Someone comes out to share his experience as an expert (yes, 25yrs experience in any field gives you an authority of some sort) to the upcoming ones, and you all begin to attack him even before he finishes what he's saying. Where did you see him arguing with anybody? No wonder many accomplished Nigerians don't feel it worth their time to mentor anybody. Nairalanders can be so rude! This is a person with 25 years experience. My dad retired after 30 years. That means the op must be quite elderly or at least middle-aged. Just recently, i was discussing with someone how difficult it was for Nigerian youths to find mentors and now i have my answer. The Nigerian youth indeed has a long way to go. |
Family › Re: How Does A Husband Cope With A Wife Who Gives More Attention To The Kids by coveredchic(f): 6:51am On Jan 02, 2017 |
jeff1607: This question has been bothering me for quite a while now, how do men or husbands cope with their wives when they give more attention and care to the kids and you feel all left out. I wouldn't like to generalise here but why is it a common thing in marriages same applies for single moms too when they shield and put more focus on their kids rather than helping the spark glow.
Some women not all are on the defensive when the husband tends to shrug that stuff out.
please would need experienced minds mostly the men to help explain or proffer a solution in getting round this without causing misunderstanding or bad blood I strongly recommend that you discuss this issue with your wife. Communication is vital as always here. Let her know how you feel and pick a time when she's in a nice mood. You can also help in relieving her work load either by helping around the house or hiring someone. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Do You Recommend Workforce For Hiring Of Employees? by coveredchic(f): 10:57am On Dec 01, 2016 |
hats: Hello, Very soon, I Will start hiring employees for my company. They are going to be paid well with the least salary at 50k down to 300,000 naira. So I have been wondering; by the time I start hiring, how do I do it? Someone recommended Workforce while another person said I should do the interview myself along with my board. What do you think? Which is better? because I want staffs that are good, willing to work, not afraid to fall and that can share in the company's mission. So which one should I go for? Personal hiring or through workforce. Please Note; It is an online company meaning the staffs won't be meeting the users or customers physically. All they will do iss to sit in an airconditioned office and do their work on the company's laptop. If your company is a startup, i strongly recommend you carry out the recruitment yourself. You need people tailored to your company's needs and vision. Who better than you to carry out this selection. I have experience in customer service. Please notify nairalanders when this recruitment starts. |

Rasana: I am very happy to have come across such a forum as much as i agree with some of the comments i disagree with treating her like a rag, for me i met a girl who is a genuine lair, she lied about been in the another continent while she was in Africa i still tried to give her a 2nd chance but after months she changed and started giving me attitude telling how she will get married to another guy in a year saying it was a joke, the moment i started dealing with her nd showing her i dint give a damn shes now the one chasing , i av dated many Nigerian girls nd all i can say from experience is that most of them re liars nd re always looking 4 aw to suck up a mans cash they prefer men that re bullies to gentlemen . A word is enough 4 d wise This simply means you've been dating the wrong kind of girls. You shouldn't expect a different result when you keep applying the same kind of logic. |
Education › Update: The University Of Jos Fire Outbreak. by coveredchic(op): 8:20pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
The University of Jos, yesterday evening at about 7:00 pm recorded another bad incident as the biggest and tallest building in its permanent site was ablaze. The fire, which spread very slowly and steadily affected the departments of Sociology, psychology, political science, and the library. Virtually all the offices on the first and second floor were affected. I was there, but as a spectator as my little effort would have yielded just little or no result. Who or what is responsible for this unfortunate incident? There are different views to this question. The first view has it that the incident must have occurred as a result of some electrical faults. The second view holds that some students who have issues with their academics and have little or no hope of graduating soon are responsible. The third view has it that it could be the handy work of the antagonists of the new Vice Chancellor, who attacked his house some months ago killing one of his security aids and are committed to disrupting his tenure . Some people even linked it to the activity of some unserious students who are not ready for the ongoing exams. These views sound meaningful and logical, but not scientific as they are for now not accompanied with facts and evidences. However, they may serve as guides for intelligence gathering and further investigations. What was the response of the authority ? I arrived the scene after the library, sociology Department, and some parts of political science was already burning. The fire service, who also arrived the scene lately could do little or nothing as they brought only a tanker of water which meant nothing to the slowly and yet steadily consuming fire that was already spreading all over the first floor. The The fire service also had difficulty in gaining access to the building as the building is surrounded with wires and the ground full of gully drainages. The students (great Jossites) must be commended for their adroitness by getting water from the near by Wells and taps to complement the effort of the fire service. However, it is regrettable that some opportunists utilized that avenue to bugle some offices and carted away with some items. The security man on duty said the fire would have been prevented from spreading further if the fire extinguishers that were available in the building were working. He went further to say that he tried all that he could but the fire extinguishers refused to work. This is unfortunate. While others consider the incident a bad omen for the University, some people see it as a challenge to the university to build lecture halls as the big building seem to be the major lecture theatre in the permanent site. The second generation university is lagging behind in terms of infrastructure. This is an ordeal. Students of the faculty of social sciences , who just graduated and are waiting to be mobilized for the NYSC are also recounting their fears as their hope might be dashed out as they suspect that their results and other details might have been consumed in the inferno. What next? The ongoing exams schedules may be shifted. There will be doubled problem for the faculty of social sciences in the forthcoming NUC accreditation as most of the departments are under partial accreditation. There is more trouble for the new Vice Chancellor who is faced with emerging challenges - security threats, ICT scam, etc. Availability of lecture halls will become a problem, and many other issues.
