salford1: Waiting to apply on open days are nice, but SAIT and NAIT are popular polytechnics. Anyone applying for a popular program would end up on a waitlist and could be pushed to the following year if he/she doesn't apply on the day application opens. Applications usually opens on a particular day during the first week of October. In-demand professions that require courses like power engineering, instrumentation, civil and elect would be full within 5 hours after application opens.
Manitoba is a small province. After Winnipeg which has a population of around 600k, the next biggest city Brandon is around 60k. Therefore, I can imagine the telco(Engineeeing) jobs would be concentrated in Winnipeg. Telco jobs are not usually small city jobs. Wow! Thank you for the insight... I am coming in through MPNP so I am constrained to staying in Manitoba. My supporter stays in Thompson, how would you rate that city? Can I get opportunities in Thompson? |

SixSigma1: also provide certification only if you are already trained by somebody else. So, if you take your training through a university/college or through a consulting firm that do not offer certification, your best way of getting certified is through ASQ:
ASQ Training: https://asq.org/training/lean-six-sigma-black-belt-training-ssb
ASQ Certification: https://asq.org/cert/six-sigma-black-belt
5. Finally, online training and certification by some faceless organizations. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS. SO, PLEASE RUN AWAY FROM IT.
Out of all the options I listed above, my recommendations are in the following order:
1. The first the one I strongly recommend is the internal training and certification through an employer (the first one) for the following reasons: I) You have internal Black Belt and Master Black Belt available to you for coaching and mentoring. II) You will only get certified after actually proving your skills and delivering results to the company. Your result could be easily verified by already certified internal professional unlike ASQ or other external certification where they only need your manager to testify that you did a project. If your manager is not a Six Sigma professional they will sign off on what they know nothing about. III) Internal training and certification is free of cost for you. In fact, you are getting paid salary while being trained (just like you are doing an MBA). The following statement is from Glassdoor regarding Six Sigma Black Belt salary at Maple Leaf Foods:
https://www.glassdoor.ca/Salary/Maple-Leaf-Foods-Salaries-E7047.htm
“The typical Maple Leaf Foods Six Sigma Black Belt salary is $99,141. Six Sigma Black Belt salaries at Maple Leaf Foods can range from $86,615 - $129,406. This estimate is based upon 11 Maple Leaf Foods Six Sigma Black Belt salary report(s) provided by employees or estimated based upon statistical methods.”
2. Second: University/College training plus ASQ certification 3. Third: ASQ training plus ASQ certification 4. Fourth: Management Consulting Firms training plus ASQ certification 5. Last: Management Consulting Firms training plus their certification Very comprehensive ! Thanks for the detailed explanation! |

Hello guys, Just submitted my profile now, but after submitting I realised I made a mistake - the email address I used for EE is different from the email address I used for my PNP application. I hope this won't raise any eyebrows when MPNP sends my nomination certificate to EE. |

Congratulations to all ITA and PPR clinchers once again!
Please I wish to clarify something, it relates to NOC and all. Take for instance, Mr A, a graduate of Mechanical Engineering has his present job in NOC 2241 and indicated same while applying for PR (the NOC is a Technologist/Technician job). So on arriving Canada, can Mr A apply to a become a registered Engineer (like APEGA) ? Or he must go on and be registered as a Technologist/Technician because that is his NOC category? |

Make CiC, abi na IRCC take time o... I was almost unhappy on my birthday because of the reality dawned on me that I'll be losing 5 points due to birthday... However I have chosen to thank God for life, despite losing 5 points, I have gained God's protection, mercy and grace. Cheers to the years ahead! Happy birthday to all September celebrants! |

Ramj: I can help just bring both minds and I can rub it together.
@Newmum0615 thanks for always helping with NOC..
Please for someone who works 9am -9pm reading Nairaland (Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled ) what would my NOC be. Also Would I quickly get job in Canada?
Thank you its a very urgent something I am about to eAPR. Also who would give me reference letter?
Je m'appelle Ramj You no dey fear o, Nairaland experience may not count inside Dollarland... As for NOC, the elders will handle that.. As for exams, by the time they evaluate your Nairaland experience you may have to licensure exams to measure up for Dollarlad experience or take some bridging programs. |

oniwoski: Hi house...thanks alot for your assistance so far...pls i am new here..kindly help with this
Does Wes count Uniben diploma(OND) nd Bsc as two certificates?.... I think OND and BSc counts as two or more certs.. However I am not too certain, I would let the elders corroborate or disagree with this position. |
