I'm still yet to see the woman that will make me go violent against a man or against her because of cheating. The consequences will be severe but doesn't include physical violence against any of the parties , I don't have any business with the man physically, both of them will prefer I beat them which I will never do in this life.

The real reason why the ECOWAS nations of Mali, Burkina and NIger are leaving is because power is sweet.

ECOWAS over the last 20 years has become stricter on army rule. In 2005, Togo was forced by Obasanjo to follow its own constitution on how the succession should go after the death of its leader...after a coup put his son in charge.

The Army boys in those countries are enjoying being king. Dem no wan give up. Power is sweet. That is why they are leaving ECOWAS.

If Tinubu accepted them, then that means that ECOWAS is a hypocritical organisation, and it also means that Tinubu is saying that coups are ok...which sends a nice signal to twitchy ears in the Nigerian army.....


Either way, in five years time, all the people of the nations that have withdrawn, them go see that army rule is just corrupt old civillian rule, with guns and repression. Your argument is illogical, you are pairing mutually exclusive events. The drilling is there to TRY to make them better forms of themselves to themselves and the community, you see nigerians that went through their comformative stage in nigeria excel especially in better economy, as for the ones in nigeria the economy is far worse and societal construct is just as bad hence why they tend to delve into those things you mentioned.

With all the flogging and harsh discipline, look at the average Nigerian youths... Take a good look.

The approach has to change.

I'm not saying corporal punishment should go away totally... It should be kept at the barest minimum, and should even be an extremely last resort.

Kids are not animals... Treating them like one will make them act as such, especially towards others.

Some even grow up thinking violence is the best approach to correction and instilling discipline.

Kids are like AI... They are a blank slate, learning daily, corporal punishment should stay and probably be refined, i went to a primary school in lagos, mathematical prowess and reduction of being over playful were flogged into me, went to secondary school in osun state which was probably one of the best in Nigeria where corpral punishment was still stylishly there, i saw number of students who were moved there from pampering schools and especially from USA due to their waywardness in those systems, i saw them change for the better....it might not be the right approach all the time but it is most of the time..

Nothing is more effective and stringent non-contact...the state of health was just bad.

The kid was sick, i dont think flogging to deaths is the right way to put it, life is fragile, so is the state of health, go station, you go see case, man strong enough to beat his wife but she shoved him once and that was it, hin no nak head for anything but he died, unfortunately cause of death would be approximately selected without considering underlying issues in the state of health. This is the obvious case here but as usual, emotions come before objective reasoning..... Rip to the dead.
