The University of Abuja has expelled Mr Tunde Ogunsakin, former head of operations of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over examination malpractice.


The expulsion of Ogunsakin, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, was contained in a letter signed by the registrar of the university, M. B. Modibbo, dated October 11, 2010, with reference number UA/R/GEN/53.


The letter addressed to Ogunsakin, Department of Public and International Law (05251064), University of Abuja, and titled ‘Expulsion from the University,’ reads: “Senate at its 24th Extra-ordinary Meeting held on Monday, 4th October, 2010, approved your expulsion from the university with immediate effect.

“This is sequel to the findings and recommendations of the Central Examination Misconduct Committee on your conduct during Law 403 test on 7th April, 2009 which is a complete breach of your matriculation oath. Consequently you are to hand over all university property in your custody, including your identity card, to the Chief Security Officer before you leave,” concluded the letter which was copied to the University’s Vice Chancellor and other officials of the institution.

Ogunsakin was removed from office following his alleged involvement in examination malpractice at the University of Abuja. He was also accused of running a full-time law degree course while at the same time serving as a director of operations with the anti-graft agency in total disregard for due process and public service regulations.

Singer Trey Songz disrupted the charts with his latest, Passion, Pain & Pleasure. Selling just under a quarter-million, Trey may now be Atlantic Records' biggest star in the wake of T.I.'s legal woes. The Petersburg, Virginia native's fourth album features Drake and Nicki Minaj. Eminem's Recovery was right there at #3 this week, behind Trey, gaining some ground after last week's VMA performances.

Drake's Thank Me Later slipped two spots to #15 last week. The Toronto emcee's single "Fancy" gives the sensation a fourth single from his platinum-selling official debut.
