President Muhammadu Buhari regular forgetfulness probably from diminishing plasticity has attracted a response from a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.

Fayose took to twitter on Tuesday to criticize Buhari over a statement he made in Ekiti State.

While addressing the crowd, the President said his government was cautious of the promises it made to the people when he came to power in 2005.

Buhari, 76, forgot that he contested in 2015, defeated the then President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party and was sworn in on May 29.

Reacting through his twitter handle, Fayose advised the President to return home and rest.

“A man could not even remember when he assumed office. He said in Ekiti today that he assumed office in 2005. Yet, they still want him to continue as President.

“Must they ruin Nigeria just to promote their personal interests? Why can’t they just allow this man to go home and rest?” He wrote.

This is not the first time the President has forgotten an event on stage.

January 2019, President Buhari displayed to the crowd in Delta State that he was truly mentally tired.

While at an All Progressives Congress rally in Delta State, Mr President completely forgot he was his party Presidential candidate for which he had campaigned all over the country, he called the APC gubernatorial candidate, Great Ogboru, the party’s presidential candidate.

In a situation that seemed embarrassing to the party members, an APC chieftain repeatedly corrected the President but all proved abortive as the President forgot immediately.

His words, “I am handing over this flag of honour to our presidential candidate.”

A man on the stage to his left corrected him, saying “gubernatorial”, but Buhari responded with “to our senatorial candidate”.

Again, the man corrected him, saying “gubernatorial” and this time, Buhari said “governotorial candidate”.

At the same rally, the President could not remember the year he became the Petroleum Minister.

Septuagenarian Buhari told the crowd that he was the Petroleum Minister from 1978 to 1979.

Actually, a former Head of State, General Olusegun Obasanjo appointed Mr Buhari as the Federal Commissioner, now called Minister for Petroleum and National Resources between March 1976 and June 1978.

But at the rally, Buhari said: “I am impressed by what previous speakers have said, especially the Minister of State for Petroleum who told you what we have been able to do in Delta State, because he happens to come from here and he happens to be my Junior Minister as Minister of petroleum Resources.

“Since 1984, or 78 to 79 when I was the Minister, I never lost interest in the petroleum industry. I am acutely aware of your influence because God has placed you on top of this national asset. I hope you will understand and appreciate the favour God has done to you in favour of the rest of Nigerians.

“I am trying to remind you to please reflect very seriously: where were we when we came in 2015, where are we now? What were we able to achieve with the resources available to us. I assure you, under this leadership, is to serve Nigeria.”

Nigerians started noticing Buhari’s mental capacity in 2015 when Mr President forgot the name of his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vtan7pDiaU

“The Chairman of our great party, Chief Oyegun, your excellency, my vice Presidential candidate Professor Yemi Osinbade, your excellency the governor of Imo State, The Chairman of All Progressives Governor forum, your excellency, the former governor of Abia State….

At a rally in Owerri, Imo State Capital, Buhari added “If we are elected, and in a few months, Boko Haram will be a thing of the past,”‎ he said to the applause of the audience.

‎He urged his supporters to get their permanent voters card (PVC). “Make sure you get your PVC. Make sure you vote. Make sure you defend your vote. Make sure that your voice is heard,” he said.

The President incapability has led to the crumbling of the economy and not able to keep any of his campaign promises.

Though, the Presidency has listed several of the administration achievements, some nationalists, including the President’s wife, Aisha Buhari believe the President is not in charge of his administration.

It is evident that Muhammadu Buhari is suffering from a mental disorder, diminishing plasticity or losing his mind. If Mr Buhari reclaim his presidential seat, Nigeria may go oblivion judging from the series of disorderliness the country is engulfed in.

Nigeria is ablaze right now for different reasons.

1. The economy is a wreck and no one genuinely minds

2. Vote based system has gone down the gutter and the rule of law is in jeopardy.

3. The President, Muhammadu Buhari has an ear contamination

4. Next month general election is around the corner.

The President everybody is talking about is specifically and circuitous involved in each above-mentioned reasons Nigeria is going wild. The President contested multiple times previously before he, fortunately, scaled through because of the dissatisfaction Nigerians thought they had with the past administration under President Goodluck Jonathan and especially the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Mr Buhari hasn’t inspired Nigerians in spite of his campaign promises in 2015. Nigerians have lost a huge number of employments, crime has spiralled immensely e.g the killings by herders across the nation, the increment in the kidnapping. Nigeria is currently the home of poverty, most depressed country, most unsecured nation, a nation where the strain among Christians and Muslims have never been this terrible.

The President is still suffering from his ear disease because he doesn’t listen to Nigerians. It could be recalled that in 2015, and the start of 2016, the news of Buhari ear infection created buzz and finally, the Presidency affirmed that the President spent closed to N20.3m on its treatment.

There is the high presumably that the President’s ear infection wasn’t treated properly as the most recent four years of his administration can authenticate that. As the election draws nearer, how about we analyse a few anticipated events.

1. Strategizing: As Buhari has failed in almost all his campaign promises, the main thing left for him is to strategize ahead of the next month general election so as to rig himself back to the office.

Clearly, the President began the moves numerous months ago when he began evacuating anybody he accepted would represent a danger to his re-appointment. While Nigerians were whining about his nepotism, Buhari kept putting his partners at various vital positions ahead of the election.

All things considered, the most recent of his chess moves is the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Honorable Justice Walter Onnoghen and the prompt swearing-in of Tanko Mohammed. This move finishes Buhari’s moves to stay relentless in coming back to the office.

One of his grapple men in this system is the Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who never loses. The President everybody is discussing doesn’t generally think about what individuals think about him. He is a general, a man who has never lost a war, who has battled for each bread he ate before, each position he had accomplished, he is known as the incorruptible for something, I assume?

The President has campaigned less in 2018-2019 than he did in 2015 when he professed to be totally bankrupt.

2. The opposition will be exceedingly threatened more than it is now.

3. All things considered, the conspicuous one is putting all partners to positions where they can impact the changes he requires.

4. Clearly, Walter Onnoghen could have risked the apparatus of the decision because of the position he possessed. It is normal that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and even the least anticipated competitor, Omoyele Sowore would drag Buhari and APC to court after the general election.

5. Nigeria soldiers, Police and the DSS just began their badgering and it will be legitimized on the race day and after his return in 2019.

6. 2019 general election will be the most rigged race ever of.

7. On the election day, there will be reported deaths in every part of the nation as this election is a do or die affair. The MoU signed by the PDP and APC won’t hold water in this case as we have two edgy applicants, Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who additionally had contested the Presidency multiple occasions.

8. Clearly, the race will be challenged yet the result is already known similarly as the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has officially known the result of the election, courtesy of Amina Zakari.

After 2019 general election, many oppositions will flee the nation as nothing will prevent President Buhari from decimating them alive. The terrorizing of the press, activists and the opposition as found in the previous 4 years is a venturing stone to what’s coming in the President’s second term.

Buhari isn’t apprehensive about what the International Community has to say Before the 2015 general election, he is known as the 92nd world known dictator after Muammar Al Gathafi, as indicated by a US site.

The President everyone is talking about doesn’t care about what Nigerians say or think, he is in power and he is using every resource to his advantage to get back to where he hardly do anything but welcome visitors while the governance is left for his Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

If it’s not too much trouble include what you think may happen during and after next month election.

PoliticsNigeria Problem Is Implementation Of Policicies, Says Peter Obi by crazynation(op): 5:18pm On Jan 13, 2019
PoliticsOshiomhole And Tinubu: Like Ambode Like Obaseki by crazynation(op): 10:21am On Oct 25, 2018
By Ehi Ekhator

The executive governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki won the heart of his former boss, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who fought his battle to become the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2016 and subsequently, the governor.

The condition was basic, Obaseki was to surrender his authority to Oshiomhole who remained the Leader of the state APC. The former Labour Chairman planted individuals faithful to him in Obaseki's cabinet while the wake and see, as he is affectionately called stayed quiet in an endeavour not to cross the Amadioha.

Since Obaseki became the governor, there are grievances across the state that his style of administration is different in relation to his predecessor; the leaders of the party are blaming him for disregard, while the youths, particularly, the thugs Oshiomhole fed during his administration blamed him for bringing in labourers from Lagos State to execute projects in Edo State.

After the show that unfurled in Lagos State where the National Leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu found new confidence in a former Lagos Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Babajide Sanwo-Olu rather than the incumbent governor, Akinwumi Ambode, it dawned on Obaseki that he may endure a similar faith if he doesn't begin stripping Oshiomhole of his strong grasp in the state.

The governor quietly buckled up for the Edo State National and State Assemblies' primary election which was held on October 4th, 2018 to make his move. While Obaseki was saluting the victors of the election, which were generally his followers, the APC leaders headed by Adams Oshiomhole censured the "unapproved primaries" and ensure it was null and void.

“The exercise conducted by unauthorised persons in collaboration with the party’s Edo State Working Committee is hereby null and void,” said the APC spokesperson, Yekini Nabena.

Meanwhile, in his standard tricky reaction, Obaseki asked members of the party to overlook media report (APC headquarter invalidation) attempting to cast slanders on the primary elections that were pronounced serene, free and fair across the state.

Another primary was conducted and abruptly, the individuals who won the past primaries were substituted in the list compiled by the National Body, those directly affected, according to speculations, were those faithful to the Obaseki's camp.

It was a moment for Oshiomhole to show who is boss, he may be little in size, yet he never avoids showing how dangerous he could be. The APC National Chairman is a chess player, pernicious and a control freak who despises confrontations directly or indirectly, a former state spokesman for the APC, Comrade Godwin Erhahon can vouch for that.

Obviously, members of the State House of Assembly were hauled into the tussle, followers took diverse ways and the members who were substituted went determined to bust some skulls in the wake of being undermined by their leaders.

“In that primary election conducted by the APC, I won; the returning officer announced that I won the election. Unfortunately, the APC substituted my name with the name of the incumbent, Mr Peter Akpatason.

“I have explored the internal mechanism of the party; I wrote to the NWC of the APC, through the chairman, that there was the need for them to have a rethink but I did not get any reply.

“I wrote to the Osunbor panel; I even appeared before the panel. Unfortunately, before the panel even came up with its final position on the matter, Form 001 and 002 had already been given to the person who did not win the primary election.

“Haven’t done that the Osunbor panel became crippled. So, I am here (in court) to say that we cannot do wrong things all the times.” The Speaker, Mr Kabiru Adjoto told court in a suit no. FHC/B/CS/118/18"

While trying to get the sheep in line, a move was made by the cabals loyal to Oshiomhole to impeach Adjoto who rumour says is faithful to Obaseki. The National Chairman of the party, however battling with his situation as all the APC governors need his head, is wrestling to maintain the demi god’s praises he had enjoyed since he ousted those who brought him fame.

In a typical commando style, a coup was hatched and attempt to impeach Kabiru Adjoto was conceived. Just like the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the Edo Speaker outflanked the plotters and impeached his deputy, Victor Edobor who is guessed to be in the camp of the deputy governor, Philip Shaibu who is unequivocally progressing in the direction of ensuring Oshiomhole does not lose his spot in the rank of control in Edo State.

“We needed to have a new deputy Speaker because of the excesses of the impeached deputy Speaker,” The Punch newspaper quoted the Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto, as saying.

“I and 20 others members of the House remain committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and cannot leave the party.

“We are even more committed to Governor Godwin Obaseki and the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, “ Mr Adjoto said.

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Dan Orbih blamed the APC for the crisis rocking the National Assembly.

“I think the problem in the Edo State House of Assembly is actually a reflection of the general problem the APC has caused to the larger Nigerian society. They have shown clearly that they don’t want what it takes to run the affairs of most of the states where they are in power.” Orbih said.

Meanwhile, Obaseki keeps fighting back in the series of accusation levied against him by the state leaders who believed he is stingy and uncaring.

Obaseki says he is not stingy as many perceived him to be. He said he couldn't give out citizens money at anyhow when he needs the money to train teachers in the state.

“People say I am stingy but I am not. How can I spend Edo people money anyhow when I need money to train teachers”, he said while addressing primary school teachers at the graduation ceremony of teachers under the Edo Best Initiative.

One of the protestations Bola Tinubu had about Akinwumi Ambode was his style of governance which he credited to the governor's refusal to take everyone along. Indeed, Obaseki isn't a long way from a similar issue, as many had asserted. He doesn't confide in the political leaders who brought him to power.

For Adams Oshiomhole, the battle has just started. Will Obaseki get around his second term ticket or will he blur into the breeze like his partner in Lagos, Ambode?

"It is Oshiomhole that is after Adjoto now, but to play the card of deceptiveness, Adjoto tagged as loyalists to Obaseki. There is already a crack in Oshiomhole's camp and Obaseki's camp.

"The news in town is that Oshiomhole is after Obaseki, definitely, Obaseki might not get the second term ticket, that what happened to Ambode is going to be like a joke compared to what will happen to Obaseki. " A source disclosed on Tuesday. "

One of the leaders in Edo State described Edo politics as complex, as people prefer to sweep issues under the carpet.

"The politics of Edo State is a complex one. It is difficult to understand what the true position is, the last primary that occurred, you hear this candidate is Oshiomhole's candidate and Obaseki will say "I don't want to hurt Oshiomhole" and in another moment, you hear Obaseki saying "this is my candidate" against Oshiomhole's candidate. So, it is hard to understand what is going on.

"If there is any politically confused entity in this country, one of it is Edo State." He says.

One thing is certain if the APC governors finally unseat Oshiomhole, he's likely to turn to the only environment he has never lost a battle. His return might trigger and worsen the already cold blood between him and Obaseki.

PoliticsBuhari At The UN: Licking The Feet Of UN Leaders To Avoid Embarrassment by crazynation(op): 12:14am On Sep 27, 2018
The President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari tended to other world leaders at the United Nationals General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.

Not surprisingly, Buhari is great at laud singing since his void and cluelessness can't gauge with whatever is left of the world. It works for him to acclaim and expresses worries at the emergency devastating different nations like Syria and Yemen, however, trivializes the killings in his own nation.

At the UN on Tuesday, the President commended President Donald Trump and Chairman Kim Jong-un for their commitment to world peace, asking the two leaders to proceed with the positive commitment.

What Buhari tells every other person is the characteristics he lacks as a leader. He is as hardened as a stone, cries like a wolf and chomps like a furious hyena. The day by day demise recorded in his nation of origin are overlooked by the present administration, especially the large number of killings credited to the President's children, the Fulani Herdsmen and the sudden spake and increased assaults by the Boko Haram extremists.

As the 2019 election approaches, one would think that Buhari would all of a sudden becomes more pleasant and all the more accommodating but he stays resolved and relies upon his strategies including his relations at the Independent National Electoral Commission.ahead of the race.

Expressing regret about some lingering threats to peace and security around the world, the President noted that in some cases, matters got worse. “The continuing plight of the Rohingyas in Myanmar, the protracted Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the wars in Yemen, and Syria, and the fight against international and local terrorism such as Boko Haram and Al-Shabaab come to mind,” he said.

As indicated by President Buhari, “The terrorist insurgencies we face, particularly in the Sahel and the Lake Chad Basin, are partly fuelled by local factors and dynamics, but now increasingly by the international Jihadi Movement, runaway fighters from Iraq and Syria and arms from the disintegration of Libya.

One of the reasons Buhari came to power was the desire that he has the way to tackling the internal crisis of the nation and conveying a complete halt to the insecurity of the nation, notwithstanding, the President with his non-verbal communication, many trusts he only cares about his kin (the north) who don't provoke him.

During April meeting with Donald Trump, the President bluntly denied that the Fulani herdsmen carry gun "I am very grateful to the United States for agreeing to give us the aircraft we asked for, we are even more grateful for the physical presence of the United States military that has gone to our institutions and trains them, and go to the front to see how they are performing. So, the commitment of the United States to get rid of terrorism across the world and we are very grateful. The problem of cattle rearers and herders in Nigeria is a very long historical thing. The Nigerian herders never carry anything more than a stick and occasionally a machete to cut down foliage and give it to their animals"

The President ascribed the sudden carriage of weapon to the crisis that prompted the demise of the previous President Muammar Gadaffi.

In his two days visit in Bauchi State in the same April, the President faulted the herders' barbarities on education. He said he could have been fighting against the farmers if he wasn't education even though he could not provide his primary school certificate.

“Make every effort to put your children in school, plead with them to be patient and read hard. In this generation, you cannot make it except you trusts.

“Now, look at the farmers /herdsmen’s clashes in the northern part of this country. I have been telling people that if I had not gone to school, I would not have gone into the military and where I come from since my cows are finished; maybe, I would have been involved in this fight." He said.

In June, Buhari flared those pointing the finger at him for the killings in Benue State. He portrayed it as an injustice against his individual neglecting that he remains the leader of his administration and Benue individuals had quite recently lost more than 86 individuals with no news of police capturing the guilty parties.

The present herder, I am told, carries AK47 and people are even blaming me for not talking to them because maybe (they say) I look like one of them. There is some injustice in these aspersions,'' he said in a statement released by his aide Garba Shehu."

At the UN, clearly, Buhari gives what he doesn't have to the leaders. He needs sympathy, initiative, convenience, compassion and his pride is taller than his stature. To abstain from being questioned by different leaders, the President has a tendency to apply "lick his feet" approach.

Calling on the international community to strengthen its resolve to combat ethnic and religious cleansing everywhere, the President expressed Nigeria’s support for “the UN’s efforts in ensuring that the Rohingya refugees are allowed to return to their homes in Myanmar with security, protection, and guarantee of citizenship. We note the indication by the Government of Myanmar of its willingness to address these issues and we encourage them to do so expeditiously.”

While paying tributes to the late seventh UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Buhari showered him with all the attributes that he lacks, According to him, “We in Africa, while mourning the loss of this great son of ours and citizen of the world, take pride in the way he served humanity in a truly exemplary manner. He demonstrated, in his calm but determined manner, the virtues of compassion, dedication to the cause of justice, fairness and human rights. He was a visionary leader who inspired hope even in the face of the most daunting challenges. He devoted his entire life’s career to the UN and the pursuit of its ideals and goals. The world is indeed a better place thanks to his exemplary service.”

On the first of September, Boko Haram invaded an army base in Zari close to the fringe with Niger, two military sources told AFP and more than 30 soldiers were reported to have been killed.

Till today, the President never addressed the media nor did he show concern to many reports with tens of casualties after that.

Regardless of whether Nigerians will bear an additional 4 long years of the uncertainty, division, the breakdown of lawfulness, hyper nepotism, terrorizing, abuse and nonchalance for the rule of law relies upon the impudence to secure their votes and oppose each move by the appointive body to trade off the voice of the general population, it likewise relies upon how hungry the Nigerian individuals will go to upturn their rights for a bit of pie.

The President has nothing to campaign on as the nation is more terrible than it was in 2015, the people are enduring, corruption more awful than the past administration and the economy is in total debt as the present administration borrowed more than what the Peoples Democratic Party's government obtained in 16 years.

PoliticsOsun State Election: INEC Decision More Political Than Legal – Dr. West-idahosa by crazynation(op): 6:53pm On Sep 23, 2018
By Ehi Ekhator

A former Member of the House of Representatives, lawyer and policy expert Dr. Ehiogie West-Idahosa has said that the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to declare the just conducted Osun State Governorship election inconclusive is more political than legal.

West-Idahosa expressed his opinion to NAIJA CENTER NEWS on Sunday hours after INEC fixed September 27 for the election rerun.

INEC had declared the Osun State Governorship election inconclusive on Sunday afternoon.

The decision was announced by the Commission’s Returning Officer, Joseph Afuwape

According to the result released by the Commission, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party pulled 254, 699 votes against Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had 254, 345 while Social Democratic Party (SDP)’s candidate Iyiola Omisore had 128, 048 making the PDP candidate the leading candidate.

The Returning Officer and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof Joseph Fowape said, while quoting INEC’s Standing Rules at the commission’s headquarters in Osogbo, that the Commission had to declare the election inconclusive because the margin between the two leading candidates is lower than the registered cancelled votes.

INEC fixed September 27 for a rerun of the election which was attributed to irregularities in some polling units.

Reacting, the former lawmaker wondered why the Commission placed so much priority on cancelled votes even though it knows cancelled votes are not a condition to declaring a winner.

“Why is INEC given so much priority to cancelled votes on this occasion?. I can’t fathom it. This may be more political than legal. My view.

“It may make sense if the votes involved are in relation to centres where elections were not held due to no fault of the voters. However, where elections were held and votes are cancelled, they remain cancelled.

“They ought not to form part of the counting process and should not influence the outcome of the elections for any reason whatsoever. “

Citing Edo State governorship election on April 14 2007. between Adams Oshiomhole and Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, the former lawmaker said “In Oshiomhole vs Osunbor & others, cancelled votes were added to PDP’s scores. All the courts held that cancelled votes have no role to play in an election. The votes were deducted and Oshomhole was declared the winner of the election.

“INEC says the Osun Governorship election is inconclusive because the difference in votes is less than the number of cancelled votes. They are probably relying on their 2015 guidelines which appears contrary to Constitutional provisions on this matter.”

Oyegun, the sacrificial lamb for Buhari's ambition

By Ehi Ekhator

Two previous governors of Edo State Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole have been entrapped in a current struggle over who to be the next National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Oyegun had effectively driven the party to triumph in the 2015 general race which unseated the former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; he has worked next with the President Muhammadu Buhari and complied with all his orders.

In many situations, he had assumed liability for the directions he completed for the benefit of Buhari who is at present seeking for a re-decision.

Another political mammoth who played a huge part in the rise of Buhari is a former governor of Lagos State, Mr. Bola Tinubu who after the 2015 general decision felt deserted by the President and his cabals.

Despite the attempt to control the crisis, their forms of non-verbal communication dialects exposed the coldness and Tinubu's despondency debilitated the power of the President, meanwhile, Buhari relied on the National Chairman, Oyegun. The internal caucus of the party was divided between Buhari/Oyegun and Tinubu's camp and their supporters took sides as appropriate.

Oyegun's problem escalated after Tinubu accused him of sabotaging his efforts to lead the APC consultation, reconciliation and confidence-building assignment. Tinubu expressed disappointment at the alleged damaging action which was contrary to the assurance he had given him when they met.

The letter which was written on February 21 duplicated Mr. President, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki and the speaker of the House of Assembly, Yakubu Dogara.

The letter particularly blamed the national chairman for rotting the crisis through one-sided choices with respect to the emergencies in the Kogi, Kaduna and Adamawa chapters of the party which he asserted undermined his power as the leader of the reconciliation team.

“Disappointment greeted me when I discovered that you had swiftly acted in contravention of the spirit of our discussions,” wrote Mr. Tinubu. “Instead of being a bulwark of support as promised, you positioned yourself in active opposition to the goal of resuscitating the progressive and democratic nature of APC.”

“You have taken it as your own personal ambition to thwart my presidential assignment in these key states.“While this may place you in (a) significant affinity with those parallel officials you handpicked, this machination suggests no improvement in the welfare of the party in Kogi or at the national level

"You had let this situation fester for months on end. Only when I was appointed to help resolve internal disputes and when you realized I might focus early on Kogi, did you stir from your indifference and inaction.”

The letter came at the time Tinubu and the President were attempting to deal with their disparities ahead of the 2019 race. Some political experts opined that the task was Buhari's method for guaranteeing Tinubu that despite everything, he has confidence in his ability and still required his support.

Oyegun's reaction to Tinubu's missive did not deny the allegation but rather consoled the national leader that he trusted his abilities to settled the interior grievances.

The letter dated February 23 reads:  “I thank you for your letter dated February 21, 2018, for your prayers and good wishes for my health. I wish you the same and pray that our good God keeps you strong and grants you His peace

He added, “Let me once again formally congratulate you on the peacemaking assignment Mr. President has entrusted you with. It is most challenging but I believe you will ultimately justify the confidence reposed in you by Mr President. In this, you have my fullest support”.

The inside war proceeded as President Buhari stayed mum on what turned out badly between his two trusted men. As the President transparently proclaimed to rerun for the second term race, clearly Buhari's attempt to reassured Tinubu that he is still loyal implies sacrificing his national chairman.

Oyegun VS Oshiomhole

Before Adams Oshiomhole handover his position as a governor, he had thought of his next line of action which was to go for the seat of the Chairmanship. This choice prompted the suspension of the then state publicity secretary Comrade Godwin Erhahon who was rebuffed for warning Buhari against the former labour Chairman.

Erhahon pulled in the mallet of Oshiomhole's supporters amid an interview with Tell Magazine where he was said to have caution President Buhari against supplanting the National Chairman of the party, Odigie-Oyegun.

On December 30, 2016, the party suspended the spokesman for what it portrayed as demonizing statement against Oshiomhole. It could be reviewed that those aware of the 2011 Presidential race believed that Oshiomhole worked against President Buhari's aspiration.

An APC Chieftain in Edo State who would not like to be named over the sensitivity of the issue revealed to NAIJA CENTER NEWS that the essential issue amongst Oshiomhole and the party National Chairman is the Comrade's ambition that knows no bound.

"No other fight between them. Just the desperation of Oshiomhole for power. Remember the former Edo State Publicity secretary of APC Comrade Godwin Erhahon protested against Oshiomhole's plot to replace Oyegun since December 2016 and he was removed for daring to say so. Erhahon is now vindicated.

"Nigerian politics being a game of intrigues not favourable to honest men,  today Buhari is lifting Oshiomhole high but living Erhahon who has been with him since 2003 out of his government. The righteous can only trust in God.

"Our only appeal to Buhari is that he should not abandon those who have suffered with him from 2003-2015 at the mercy of Comrade Oshiomhole,  his latter day friend who doesn't want to see those who opposed him for working against Buhari during 2011 elections. It is ungodly for any leader to forget his days of humble beginnings.

"Oshiomhole's over ambition is the problem.  Oyegun is too gentle to want to fight back." The source said.

Another Chieftain of the party from the camp of the National Chairman disclosed to NAIJA CENTER NEWS that Oyegun's present issue is because of the warning issued to Buhari by Bola Tinubu. Buhari is at present compelled to either hold Oyegun or be prepared to watch his political monster, (Tinubu) forsakes him in 2019 general decision.

"We learnt that Asiwaju Bola  Tinibu threatened Buhari that he with his followers would dump APC if Oyegun is retained as National Chairman.  Not that Oyegun has disappointed Buhari in anyway. But I don't think the u-turn by the President will threaten the chances of APC in the forthcoming elections." He disclosed.

Another source who is closed to Oyegun affirmed that Tinubu is in charge of the present travail of the National Chairman. He be that as it may, said Oyegun isn't pestered as it remained his decision to challenge or stay away from the convention to abstain from conflicting with Buhari's decision.

He said "It is evident Tinubu is dependable. Oyegun isn't prepared to battle conflict with Buhari's decision. It is genuine Oyegun has made a wide discussion yet he doesn't know what to do with it since the President is reported to have taken side"

Oyegun who spoke with NAIJA CENTER NEWS yesterday said he was not ready to discuss the issue, he however, assured that he will talk in details when the time was right.

"I am not ready to talk on the issue, I have your number and I will call you for a details discussion when the time is right," he said..

Buhari held a meeting with the APC governors on Wednesday where he was reported to have ordered them to back Oshiomhole against his vigorous follower, Oyegun.

A Presidential source who disclosed to Punch Newspaper in anonymity said “The President called this meeting with the APC governors to ask them to back Oshiomhole’s candidature. That’s the purpose of the meeting administration that is the President’s position."

This activity additionally brace the theory that Buhari has been made to either keep Oyegun or lose Tinubu and his devotees ahead of the 2019 presidential race.

Buhari resembles Isaac in the book of scriptures who needed to murder a sheep so as to keep his lone child, Isaac. Oyegun remained the symbol of atonement for Buhari to keep his very regarded National Leader ahead of the 2019.

In any case, the issue had additionally deepened the internal crisis of the APC as individuals faithful to Oyegun are disintegrating why many took to social media to express their dismay.

An Edo based group, Edo United League buried a void coffin on Tuesday to caution Oshiomhole against selling out his Edo kinsman. The group took to spiritual as it said it couldn't trust Oshiomhole who misled Buhari to commission an unfilled building he asserted was five star central hospital.

The confidence of the National Chairman is at present obscure as his definitive supporter appear to dance to the drum of the mightier. The present u-turn by Buhari is an overwhelming blow on Oyegun's trust in his triumph in the coming convention to be held May 14.

If  Oyegun is no longer a companion of Tinubu and his lone expectation which is the President has quite recently sacrificed him to keep his Presidential office, there is the likelihood that the National Chairman may have lost the war, Oshiomhole's long time dream at last materializes and Tinubu finally gets his revenge.

PDP didn’t participate for the fear of losing – Crusoe Osagie
Low turnout is LGA election nature – Odigie-Oyegun

By Ehi Ekhator

The Chairman of the Edo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih described the Local Government election that took place today, the 3rd of March, 2018 as a display of impunity by the All Progressives Congress.

Orbih who spoke with NAIJA CENTER NEWS correspondent after the election said “This shows that APC is a party that thrives on impunity. Despite the fact that this matter is before a law court, in a civilized society, they would await the determination of the case before they can do anything about the election but APC went ahead in spite of the fact the matter is before a law court. They have no respect for the rule of law.”

The party Chairman added that “The matter is already in court, we cannot do anything when the matter has not taken a decision on the issue. We will wait for the court to decide. “

The PDP had resolved not to participate in the local government election because the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC), the State House of Assembly and the State Government amended the rules for the conduct of the elections.

The PDP dragged the EDSIEC, EDHA and the EDSG to court challenging their powers, among other branches to make the amendment.

PDP didn’t participate for the fear of losing – Crusoe Osagie

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr Crusoe Osagie said the PDP refused to participate in the election for the fear of losing.

He told NAIJA CENTER NEWS that the decision to boycott the LGA election was purely the PDPs, adding that there was no injunction from the court stopping the election.

“The election held. There is no injunction stopping the election from holding. It was their choice not to participate, it was what they chose. Clearly, they did not participate because they knew they were going to lose, so they looked for a good excuse to stay away from the election.” He noted.

On why the government amended the notice from 90 days to 45 days, Crusoe said: “It is wrong for us to discuss in the media something before the court.”

Low turnout is LGA election nature – Odigie-Oyegun

In a separate response, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun attributed the low turnout in the election to the nature of Local Government elections.

He stated that the peoples’ participation was more important than the main opposition decision to participate.

Oyegun disclosed this while addressing journalists in Benin City on Saturday.

He said “There is always apartheid with a local election, you don’t have the kind of star quality that comes with global or presidential election.

“Whether the major opposition is here or not, what is important is that people turned up in spirit because whether they like it or not, local representation is one of the most important. Everybody can get to the councilor, who can get to the governor?”

The governor, Mr. Godwin Obaeski in his response, said the PDP refusal to participate did not affect the voters’ turnout.

He alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has no presence in the state.

The governor said: “We can confidently say the opposition party is not in existence in the state. Every politician aspires from the units and if you do not give them the platform, they will seek it outside.”

PoliticsJudiciary Autonomy: Eminent Edo People Lambast EDHA by crazynation(op): 7:08pm On Feb 24, 2018
accuse the house of selling its independence over a plate of pepper soup

By Ehi Ekhator

Eminent Edo people have reacted to the recent development where the Edo State House of Assembly rejected its own autonomy and that of the judiciary in the ongoing process by the National Assembly to amend the constitution.

The decision was reached on Thursday the 22nd of February, 2018.

It was gathered that the Speaker of the House Kabiri Adjoto, and his members held a marathon meeting with the state governor Godwin Obaseki, his deputy Philip Shaibu and the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Anslem Ojezua and other party leaders where the decision to reject the bill was imposed.

It was learned that many of the lawmakers wanted the autonomy as 32 states have already endorsed it but were pressured into submission by the executive arms.

Adjoto left the meeting frustrated after futile effort to convince his party leaders that there were high expectations from the lawmakers and Edo people who wanted it endorsed, plus the stress on to convince them of the alternative.

After the outcome hit the media, eminent Edo people who felt disappointed and wondered why the EDHA would reject its own freedom outbursted.

Dr. Don Pedro Obaseki

Speaking with NAIJA CENTER NEWS, a former governorship aspirant in the last 2016 election, Dr. Godwin Obaseki described the event as “self-cannibalism”

Speaking in parables, Obaseki said, “When a Crocodile Eats its own eggs, There is nothing it won’t do to the flesh of a frog.”

He added “With that vote, Our legislators in EDHA are actually engaged in Self-cannibalism! The EDHA reminds me of the negative connotation of the “Ouroboros” – the ancient serpent or dragon that eats its own tail. The medieval wild rat snake that attempted to consume itself twice, but died in the second attempt. It’s a shame!”

Dr. Ehiogie West-Idahosa
Responding to our correspondent, a former senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State Dr. Ehiogie West-Idahosa said the assembly can’t assist the state.

“This is the second time this House is doing so. I blame it on the low calibre membership of the House. It is a wake-up call for the State. This Assembly can’t help the State in any way. He noted

He added “Edo State House of Assembly’s recent rejection of financial autonomy marks a new low ground in the ongoing legislative imperialism of State Assemblies in Nigeria. Executive expansion of dominance and exploitation of the weaker legislature has eroded the sense of placement inherent in the practice of separation of powers characteristic of modern democracy. The unequal exchange of perks of office has led to a final surrender of the power of the purse which is the strength and preserves of the legislature worldwide, by Edo State House of Assembly.

“In return, the lawmakers get aids in kind or cash, a few foreign trips and guarantee of second term Party tickets. But what would this mean against the loss of the innate right of the legislature to check the Executive from misusing public funds appropriated for the public good? The answer is discernible.

“Who will deal with the debt burden of Edo State which has reached astronomical levels? The State’s scarce resources from internally generated revenue borne by the poor man and woman on the streets and federal allocations would end up servicing the huge debt without a wimp from the lawmakers whose autonomy has been voluntarily mortgaged at the risk of jeopardizing the balance of power in the State.

“Plunder of State resources, tax abuses, poverty, widespread unemployment, disease, maladministration and a host of anomalies would become the cynosure of this new wave of legislative imperialism.”

The former aspirant urged the EDHA to “save itself this embarrassment by reviewing their decision. A motion ought to be tabled to review that decision and vote on the side of sustainable democracy for the sake of the generations of Edo people alive and those yet unborn. Anything short of this would entitle the present members of that House to an unenviable space in the political museum of infamy.”

Mr. Chris Nehikhare

In his personal opinion, the state publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Mr. Chris Nehikhare described the EDHA as more than a rubber stamp. He called the house “a worldwide disgrace”

He said “Edo state House of Assembly cannot be described as a rubber stamp house, they are the ink pad, a dry ink pad, unusable, good for nothing without self-worth. A disgrace to legislators worldwide. They equate to slaves that reject freedom for a pot of porridge.

“Even in the knowledge that their vote would not affect the “final Score”, the spineless men and woman in EDHA couldn’t resist showing off their servitude.”

Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo

Hon. Orobosa Omo-Ojo, a former Commissioner for Transport expressed disappointment over the decision reached by the House.

Speaking with NAIJA CENTER NEWS on Saturday, Omo-Ojo said the lawmakers put themselves first in a move to secure their second term ticket, overheads, and vehicles.

He said:”I know what went in before their so-called votes. They elected themselves to go find out from the executive and the APC leadership how they should vote.

Then why did they do it?

I found out that they didn’t want to be on the wrong side of their party because all of them wanted their return ticket of the house. So, why are we where we are now? because of the failure of the mechanism of the internal democracy in the state. Both the APC and PDP over the years had decided to give their ticket to “loyal boys and girls” not minding who will represent them in these offices.

So we have a garden of 24 boys and a lady who their primary aims are to continuously remain in the office without looking at the larger benefit to the society and the House of Assembly. Their action has continued to destroy the institution called Edo State House of Assembly because there are others like me and you who may want to contest tomorrow to be House members and may not be able to find their ways there.

It is sad for legislative democracy, it is a sad day for our local government, and to the twenty-four constituencies that these guys represent.

The judiciary has turned themselves to the weeping boys and girls in the system. The Judiciary is to stabilize the system by the quality of their rulings. Even at this point, because they have not been able to get their autonomy, they get permission from executive before making a ruling. Even a Chief Judge would wait for hours to see a governor because of overhead.

I expected the judiciary, the speaker, and the Chief judge to have met to decide. By now, if it is a state where we trust the judges, I can take an order of mandamus to say we want to fight the House of Assembly to set aside their ruling but you can’t try that with any of the judges because they are all scared of what the governor will do to them.

Speaking on the role of the state government in the rejection, the former Commissioner said “I have it on record that members of the house went to the executive to ask whether to vote for their (the institution) freedom or remain slaves. I can’t blame the governor or the chairman of the party, they should blame themselves. These 24 members are anti-people because they want their vehicles, their overheads, and their second term, so they took a selfish, myopic and shortsighted decision. “

Barrister Kenneth Imasuagbon:
A former aspirant in the 2016 governorship election, Barrister Kenneth Imasuagbon urged the EDHA to revert immediately the rejection.

He asked the lawmakers to leave or be voted house in 2020 since they could not free Edo people from bondage.

He said “If they don’t want autonomy, they should leave and if they don’t leave, the people will vote them out. They are hungry people. This is the hypocrisy of the country when you are in power; you do whatever benefits you. If the legislator wants to be slaves to the executive, they will only be a slave when they are there now.

“It is a big shame to them, every tier of government must have their autonomy and that is the beauty of democracy. We want a free judiciary and legislator. If they say what is happening in Edo state is not democracy but autocracy, they should let us know. How dare them to shatter the will of the people by rejecting autonomy?”

He continued “Edo state House of Assembly must emulate President Buhari. Is he not APC too? He refused to intervene in the emergence of Saraki and Dogara, so why will EDHA rejects its autonomy. They will see the anger of the people in 2020. When people are slaves to hunger they can do anything. If they don’t’ want autonomy what are they doing in the House of Assembly? This is not the Edo Ali came from, this is not the Edo Enahoro came from or where Ogbemudia came from.

“They should Revert with immediate effect the rejection of autonomy. The autonomy and sanctity of independence cannot be thrown away, it is the identity of democracy. The judiciary interprets the action, inaction and every citizens and legislature checks the excesses of the executive. It makes law and checks the action and inaction of the executive whether it conforms with the constitution of Nigeria, so why would they say they don’t want autonomy? It is very annoying, does drinking pepper soup at government house enough to sell your identity? It is a big shame for the Speaker of the House to preside over such matter, it shows they are not on the side of the people. The independence of the House of Assembly is the freedom of Edo people. This is not a democracy, it is very vexatious and annoying.”

PoliticsFulani Herdsmen Vs Benue State: The Action Of The Human President by crazynation(op): 2:29pm On Feb 09, 2018
By Ehi Ekhator

It was astounding the day the Nigerian Presidency announced the release of a documentary about President Muhammadu Buhari's human side. IT dawn on everybody that even Buhari knew that majority of Nigerians believed he was a beast.

For somebody with obvious human side, he didn't have to make a narrative to show that he has mankind in him. As Nigerians were more occupied with the loss of their brothers and sisters, the Presidency was caught up in persuading the general population how human the President was. It neglected to jump out at them that the loss of Nigerians introduced an adequate open door for the President to show his human side without having his representatives to disclose to Nigerians how he enjoys watching kid's shows.

Whoever initiated the documentary overlooked that displaying humankind implies giving occurrence in the video where Buhari would be seen doing the unforeseen. The documentary assembled Buhari top officers who were seen portraying their encounters with the President. There was no space for Nigerians in the street to include their voices, no scene caught Buhari helping a tyke or playing football in the street, the video didn't indicate Buhari paying visits to casualties of assaults, it was the longest almost 1hr and a trivial exercise in futility.

Since 2018, a great deal has occurred in the country. As many were celebrating a fresh start, others, especially in Benue State, were grieving the loss of their friends and families. There has been a long fight between the herders in Benue, and the farmers and more than 3000 Nigerians have been murdered in various assaults and reprisal from 2013 till now

The general population had criticized the quiet of the President while the presidential associates keep on convincing the abused, that Buhari isn't upbeat about the steady attacks by the Fulani Herdsmen who are of late, turns into a creature and specialist of death in their place of residence across the country.

The attack on the 1st of January, 2018 which ended the lives of more than 75 individuals was a strong road for the President to show his human side without the documentary, be that as it may, he released a condemnation statement and requested the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to relocate to Benue.

The president likewise stressed in his January 25 letter to the Senate that he had “instructed the Inspector General of Police to relocate to Benue State” and “redeploy forces to the most sensitive areas.”

The statement made available to the press reads “Following the recent unfortunate killings of innocent people in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas in Benue State and the intervention, and ongoing efforts of the Nigeria Police Force to restore peace in the State, the President and commander in Chief of Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR has ordered few hours ago, that the Inspector General of Police moves immediately to Benue State to restore law and order, prevent further loss of lives and forestall the crisis from escalating and spreading in the State.Mr. Idris initially obeyed the president’s order and arrived Makurdi, the state capital, on January 10, meeting with Governor Samuel Ortom on January 11.

But the Inspector-General spent only three days touring the state, including holding talks with Benue political and religious leaders and visiting camps of the internally displaced persons in Logo Local Government Area.

In his defence, a former director at the State Security Service. Mike Ejiofor, said there’s no rationale for the Inspector-General to remain in Benue or anywhere else in the crisis-ridden north-central.

“I don’t think it’s reasonable for him to remain there and leave all his administrative work at the headquarters,”

One month after, the President is yet to query the IGP why he moved back to Abuja instead of his order to station in Benue like his counterpart, Buratai against the Boko Haram terrorists.

It explained while the people believed the President doesn’t’ care and why Buhari has to try too hard to convince Nigerians that he has a human side.

It is not only the commoners complaining, a former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in a daring move in January, released 18 pages memo advising the President not to seek re-election in 2019 for lack of understanding of the dynamics of politics, and his tendencies to pass the buck of his government’s inadequacies to the immediate past administration, nepotism and corruption within his cabinet.

“But there are three other areas where President Buhari has come out more glaringly than most of us thought we knew about him.  One is nepotic deployment bordering on clannishness and inability to bring discipline to bear on errant members of his nepotic court.  This has grave consequences on the performance of his government to the detriment of the nation.  It would appear that national interest was being sacrificed on the altar of nepotic interest.  What does one make of a case like that of Maina: collusion, condonation, ineptitude, incompetence, dereliction of responsibility or kinship and friendship on the part of those who should have taken visible and deterrent disciplinary action?  How many similar cases are buried, ignored or covered up and not yet in the glare of the media and the public?

“The second is his poor understanding of the dynamics of internal politics.  This has led to wittingly or unwittingly making the nation more divided and inequality has widened and become more pronounced.  It also has effect on general national security.

“The third is passing the buck.  For instance, blaming the Governor of the Central Bank for devaluation of the naira by 70% or so and blaming past governments for it, is to say the least, not accepting one’s own responsibility.  Let nobody deceive us, economy feeds on politics and because our politics is depressing, our economy is even more depressing today.  If things were good, President Buhari would not need to come in.  He was voted to fix things that were bad and not engage in the blame game.”

Few days after, another former President Ibrahim Babangida through his spokesman Mr. Kassim Afegbua released a disputable memo similar to Obasanjo, advising Buhari to step down for the younger generation.

“In the fullness of our present realities, we need to cooperate with President Muhammadu Buhari to complete his term of office on May 29th, 2019 and collectively prepare the way for new generation leaders to assume the mantle of leadership of the country,” Mr. Babangida, who led Nigeria as an army general between 1985 and 1993, said.

“While offering this advice, I speak as a stakeholder, former president, concerned Nigerian and a patriot who desires to see new paradigms in our shared commitment to get this country running. While saying this also, I do not intend to deny President Buhari his inalienable right to vote and be voted for, but there comes a time in the life of a nation, when personal ambition should not override national interest.”

In spite of their parts in conveying the President to power, the duos had understood that their falcon couldn't fly, exhorting the Human President to venture down and enable fit hands to proceed in 2019.

Over a month since the Benue Massacre happened, Buhari is yet to visit the state rather, he attended to a neighboring state, Nasarawa where he commissioned a few projects. The human side didn't bounce out to urge the President to spend no less than 2 hours to reassure with the families of the individuals who lost their lives.

In its defence, the Presidency on Thursday said there were many attacks in the country and the President couldn’t visit everywhere. Buhari’s media aide, Femi Adesina made this known in his response to a columnist on Thisday Newspaper who queried the President on his romance with the Fulani and his compromise to take drastic action.

Adesina acknowledged that “Nobody can deny that Nigeria has a serious problem on her hands, as constituted by crises between herdsmen and farmers in different parts of the country. Lives are being taken wantonly, sorrow, tears, and blood visited on many homes, and dread descending on towns and communities. It is a national emergency, which is being responded to by the concerned authorities.

But added “talking of visits, in the latter part of last year, there were massive killings in Mambilla, Taraba State, in Numan, Adamawa State, in Zamfara, in the southern part of Kaduna, and Omoku, in Rivers State. The loss of one soul is bad enough, particularly when done in cold blood. But where does the President start from? He sympathized with all those who lost loved ones. Nobody can call that ‘inaction,’ except when mischief is involved.”

The above explanation revealed that the President himself was overpowered by the ceaseless killings in the nation. Sympathizing on the face of the media resembles Obasanjo public memo without first discussing the issue with Buhari.

The President who is so worried about his compassion as it's seen by the general population should know the significance of "live broadcast" or "national address" to share the agonies of his people. On the off chance that the attacks occur 20 times in a month, Buhari ought to have addressed the country 20 times.

Adesina said Buhari's government has a mission to bring equity to everybody overlooking that the people of Benue is yet to feel the compassion and equity he alluded to.

“Which sensible democratic government anywhere in the world would approve the massacre of its own people? Definitely, not this one led by President Buhari, which I know derived its legitimacy from the overwhelming mandate of the people. And not a government, which seeks to do justice to all the people, whether they are an ethnic majority or minority.”

Adesina, in his standard style, cast the fault on the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's political party. He believed that the circumstance is poilticitized by those crushed in 2015.

“No matter the unjust labels being stamped on the administration by people who remain marooned in pre-2015 elections mode, this is one government that is doing well for Nigeria and Nigerians, and if only people would purge themselves of long-held biases, they would then see better. “

The bulk passing was addressed by Obasanjo and the present government has declined to halt or gained from the past. The administration has, at whatever point it comes up short on thoughts, accuse the past government without consideration.

Buhari's government needs to figure out how to make legitimate remarks without disregarding and irritating individuals when managing a touchy issue like herders murdering.

The President has a ton of work to do to persuade the Southerners and Westerners that he belongs to nobody but belongs to everybody as he stated. He ought to have the capacity to call his employees to order when eating craps amid a touchy issue and furthermore sack the degenerate and wasteful among them.

Buhari's rate dribbled as Nigerians who saw the moon when he assumed controls are as of now battling for their lives in Mars.

PhonesSad As Whatsapp Kicks Out Many Phones Before Jan 1 by crazynation(op): 11:45pm On Dec 28, 2017
Many users who rely on the largest mobile messaging company, Whatsapp to send new year wishes to their friends and families will be disappointed as the company is planning to shot people down.

This is as a result of the new announcement that some mobile phones using certain operating systems will no longer be compatible to use the free and popular messaging service from December 31.

Whatsapp will be restricting mobile usage to two most popular operating system: Android and IOS.

“As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use”, according to Mirror Online.

“This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using Whatsapp”

Well, phones like Blackberry OS or BlackBerry 10 will not make it to the message app in 2018.

It’s known that Blackberry moved to Android this year but older handsets still use its old software.

Another phone affected is window phone with Microsoft’s Window 8.0 or older, which means a lot of Nokia phones that are window based will be left behind.

Others affected are Nokia Symbian S60, Nokia s40.

Phones using Android version 2.3.7 and older will stop working from February 1, 2020.

CrimeMy Life In The Hands Of Kidnappers – Ogba Zoo Director, Andy Ehanire Reveals by crazynation(op): 12:11pm On Dec 19, 2017
In this interview with NAIJA CENTER NEWS, the Director of Ogba Zoo, Edo State who was abducted in Benin City by daredevils, explained his life in captivity, his travail, what kept him alive and those who were responsible for his abduction.

By Ehi Ekhator

Any premonition of a security breach (threat) or attack on your person/ staff, given the recent development at the zoo, prior to your kidnap?

There are always some elements of vulnerability for everyone. They come in all forms and shades. Everybody has to make their individual assessment, but they are usually based on similar factors and individual circumstances, as the environment dictates. Any normal person will definitely have concerns about the way violent crimes appear to be spiralling out of control today. So I have felt some reasonable levels of vulnerability over the years, based on what is happening around. For example, my main anxiety has always centred on the protracted encroachment on the Zoo by neighbouring communities. In Benin environ, selling other peoples’ land is now an occupation and even communal lands are not reserved for subsequent generations. Assets entrusted to the Zoo, includin, lands, forestry and buildings, have been raided. There is a high level of complicity in these matters, so much so that the Zoo as a State ecological heritage has been left vulnerable to wanton plunder by land grabbers. Being an environmentalist, with a leasehold over the Zoo, it has been difficult to watch its assets, including pristine forests, being decimated without raising alarm. I am glad that Governor Obaseki has risen up to the challenge of curbing these atrocities.

So I had always considered myself vulnerable as a result of threats from these land grabbers and poachers. Even when you think you have no personal vulnerability, you can still fall victim to a chance incident anywhere. We just have to adjust our lifestyle and movement to reduce our exposure to the perceived threat level, while being prayerful. In fact, you cannot avoid certain occupational hazards or situations whereby your views or position on issues could become sources of threats.

On the fateful day, did you at any time have any sign or uncomfortable gut feeling?

When your gut feeling is overstretched over time, given the perennial nature of the vulnerabilities, coupled with environmental distractions, your instincts will get dull and confused. Most times you take evasive actions against an ambush or when you feel defenceless, but what happened on the day I was kidnapped defied both. It was clearly bizarre and not in the equation. If I were to follow my instincts or even cognitive perception, I will not reside in Benin (or many other places in Nigeria), but this is where I have my occupational focus and social base, so we cannot all just check out and abandon our home or country. Life itself comprises of taking responsible risks, but there is always a limit. We just keep hoping that our security problems are a passing phase and that we will overcome both the social and economic challenges at the root of our security problems.

What was the scenario (situation) around you or what was the Zoo like on the day of your attack?

This is the aspect that really broke my heart. It was a busy Sunday afternoon and we had fun-seekers all over the place. The car park was full as with all the picnic areas. The reception area where I sat was crowded, with over 25 available seats taken, while visitors were streaming in and out. I was holding a series of meetings, but chose not to use my office or any of the function hubs since i wanted to be easily accessible to various groups and individuals that I had planned to meet with. It was three days to the annual World Tourism Day celebration (September 27), which 2017 edition was being hosted at the Zoo. We had vendors and stakeholders taking turns to fine-tune their respective roles.

The Branch members of my alumni association (ABU, Zaria) were also arriving for a scheduled meeting. The Zoo is also a beat comprising police patrol teams from four Divisions, but on this Sunday, only one team was around and they dropped three of their men in order to respond to some issues nearby. The policemen would usually sit near the entrance to observe visitors after patrolling the premises. On this fateful day, they were seated about 3 or 4 meters away from where I was. Since I was holding series of discussions with different groups in this crowded setting, I hardly observed what was happening beyond a few rows of those nearest to me when the air was shattered by rapid semi-automatic gunfire. There was no time to think, but my eyes caught what was going on and everyone dashed for safety. Here I was, a facility manager that cherishes the creation of a relaxed environment for all shades of fun seekers, but I was now witnessing the horror of visitors scampering in all directions for dear life and the consciousness of what was meted out to the three innocent policemen.

What was your immediate reaction when the three policemen were killed?

Though I was the target of the kidnap operation, I think the assailants were interested in capturing the police weapons, otherwise you will expect them to trail a victim for an ambush. My escape route had been blocked and my struggle with the assailants was futile as they were intent on any level of brutality. It was the point at which I suffered severe injuries to my back because I crashed into a nearby drain during the initial struggle. I was now resigned to my fate and the assailants later told me I could have been shot if I had persisted in trying to escape.
Describe what happened thereafter and how you were whisked away? I was momentarily paralysed by my back injury and did not realise that I could not walk. My assailants thought it was all part of my resistance so they dragged me on the ground all the way to the waiting car. I was actually telling them to let me walk but my limbs were wobbly and they had no time.

I was crammed along with about five of them into this jalopy that sped like a bat out of hell. They headed out of town and further down the road, two policemen were trying to flag down the vehicle. I was afraid that there was going to be a shootout as the policemen were wielding pistols, but I involuntarily appealed to the kidnappers so they just fired into the air and sped past. It was a relatively short distance travelled when they swerved off the road into some tall grasses, then drove another short distance until we arrived at a small stream where some of their men were waiting with canoes. There was move to blindfold me before being transferred onto the canoe but the leader said it wasn’t necessary. I did not like the possible implications of not being blindfolded especially as the assailants were not hooded. This gave me continuous anxiety, but I followed the usual advisory not to make eye contact with them. We travelled by canoe for over an hour before we arrived at where they had parked their speed boats and the river was wider. Then began a longer journey into the night and I lost every sense of time and direction.

What was it like when you were in the car with the attackers, was there any communication immediately?

The kidnappers were obviously high on drugs and extremely excited with both my capture and the police weapons they carted away. They told me that they have been making attempts on me but that I was proving to be a difficult target so they had to reinforce for this fateful day to execute the job at all costs. I quickly recollected my composure and was anxious to calm them down. I always pride myself with being able to adjust to any situation or circumstance, and I did just that by acting calm and friendly. I had sufficient presence of mind to experience the stark beauty of the unfolding landscapes just before sunset and made impassioned comments about it, but they ignored me without being hostile. They advised me on how to stay safe in the boat, particularly not to hold on to the sides so as not to brush my fingers against dangerous shrubs in the narrow creeks.

Describe what happened on that first night and where you were taken and the thoughts going on in your mind, having realized you had been kidnapped.

We arrived at a camp in a dense mangrove forest after more than two hours of high-speed travel in the dark night. It was a shed built on stilts over tidal marshes by a water channel. A waiting group scrutinized me and all excited discussions were in Ijaw language. Several AK 47 rifles were visible amongst the men. Where I was finally kept was a separate shed not within eye view of other structures, but I could always hear their loud conversations, singing and occasional gunshots.

My accommodation consisted of a tattered one inch foam flooring over uneven wooden boards that constantly bit into my flesh and a wooden bench. A tattered mosquito tent hung over the sleeping area. By the next morning, a group of them came to ask me questions about my occupation and activities. They told me to relax and that they will attend to my basic needs. They gave me a paper to list items I would need, such included toiletries, clothes, sachet water, medicines and even newspapers, which they provided. They were interested in my reaction upon reading news of the kidnap in the newspapers they had provided. They said that they were paid to assassinate me but that they will put me through “trial” to know if I was innocent of the accusations made against me.

I was asked about my preferred meals and was served adequate food twice daily. On the first morning , I requested to speak with my wife on phone but they said it was not yet time. It was on the third day after arrival at the camp that they allowed me a short conversation with my wife after I had provided the gsm number. Of course I told my wife not to worry and that I was fine, to which they promptly truncated the call and challenged me as to why I should say that I am fine. They queried further that my statement was because they have not started torturing me. During the course of my stay, I was threatened a few times but never tortured. I was occasionally aware that they made calls to my family members to make monetary demands, but I was not privy to the detailed discussions. It was a very important attitude on my part to relax and build rapport with the militants but at the very core, I still had anxiety as to how it will all end. I would mention to them my wish to be free to return by commercial boat rather than their armed presence, but they said it was in my interest to be escorted by them. They said that I should not worry over my return but that they had their own procedures.

What I disliked most about the location I was kept is that it was totally unkempt, against the backdrop of the naturally beautiful mangrove forests. Again, the common reality in the creeks is the absence basic toilet facilities, in spite of the signs of long habitation of the place. Quite disgusting is that they usually fetched their drinking water from the same tidal waters in which they bathe and defecate. My request to have continuous supplies of sachet water was ignored, but luckily I was given the option of rainwater.

Were the kidnappers hostile or friendly to you while in the car or in transit?
Describe what life was like for you when you were with them, detailing your daily routines, and What would you say kept you alive or inspired your faith all through the period or where you drew the strength to cope.

Soon after my abduction, I became conscious of the fact that there would be much prayers and fasting by family and well-wishers, in efforts to intercede on my behalf. So, I instinctively wanted to be attuned to those prayers and thus started to fast and pray intermittently. Since my food rations were generous, I had too much leftovers from my fasting and my abductors would raise concerns about it, so I decided to surreptitiously ditch most of the food through the slits on the floor boards. No soon after, there was massive rat invasion of the area and the rats were so excited that their noises would scare us awake. The sentries were perplexed but I sooner realized that it was the food I was ditching under the hut that was attracting the rats, so I now took time to carry the surplus food away to fling far off when I would pretend to be going to use the convenience. The rat invasion then stopped. One of the sentries was fond of playing music from his phone and would occasionally play some popular gospel music, which would act like a tonic to boost my spirits.

The kidnappers had the notion that I was accomplished and in consideration of my age, accorded me some respect. They also had the idea that I was knowledgeable in many spheres of life and would frequently strike up a conversation with a view to picking my mind. I was usually glad at any of such opportunities to converse with them because it gave me an effective escape from worrying about my fate and the anguish my family and friends would be going through. Again, the conversation brought about good rapport and hopes of a positive outcome. They said they have remained militants because their leaders schemed them out of the Government Amnesty programme and expressed the desire to start a business if they could raise enough capital. They turned me into an emergency consultant on the various legitimate enterprises in which they could be engaged. Since they appeared to have serious grudges against government, I would make efforts trying to explain how the society could evolve along the lines of other developed societies, if only everyone played their part correctly.

I was often afflicted with boredom, being confined to such a small location. I would fantasize on the possibility of such pristine environment being converted into an ecological Resort and my curiosity to explore the environment heightened. As my period of captivity lengthened, the armed sentries in my location would occasionally disappear for what I suspected to be long meetings over my fate or some other issues. It was on one of such periods that my curiosity took the better part of me that I wandered into the mangrove forests and lost my bearings. The mangrove forest is near impenetrable, but in this particular instance, there were some logging trails that had opened a series of passages that I felt I could explore for exercise. In my childhood, we lived very close to the forest and always had the nostalgia for walking in the woods. Because the time of this escapade was in the evening, the coming of nightfall complicated my directions and what was to be a long stroll turned out to be 7 days without water or food. About the second day in the mangrove forest, there was a water channel I wanted to cross and I needed my clothes to remain dry, so I took them off and folded them into a ball to navigate with them held over my head. Midstream, I stumbled badly from underwater objects and quicksand, and before I could recover from near drowning and the hurt to my feet, my lump of clothes floated away and disappeared. So my ordeal in the mangrove forest took a new twist as I now had zero protection from the elements and the myriads of blood sucking insects for about five days and nights. There was no sign of any habitation or even a shed to seek shelter but eventually, it was the kidnappers themselves who rescued me by canoe when I used the sounds of their gunshots to trace my way close to their camp.

From the physical condition they found me, especially the vicious lacerations from thorns and other dangerous shrubs, I became like a medical patient and they hurried to provide me with a hot bath for the first time, then fresh clothes and food. It seemed their immediate consideration was how to stabilize me for urgent evacuation back home as it must have looked like I could not survive. They told me that my reappearance from the forest gave them much relief because they initially suspected that I had escaped by compromising some of their members, which they viewed as more terrible by way of consequence. Because I was taken to what looked like their camp “office”, I sighted a bottle of local gin with herbal infusion and my condition made me to request for some tots in order to get some quick “warmth”. By the time I had taken a second or third tot, I felt much better but the strong stuff took out my vocal cords, so by the time they put me on phone to my wife, she busted out wailing that they had brought an impersonator. She felt they must have possibly done something grave to me after nearly a week without contact. It took some persuasion before she could accept that I was the one, especially when I used some lexicon that she knew could not be from any ad-hoc rustic, since she was now familiar with their communications. I was made to catch some sleep on an “executive bed”, which was the only one in that hut, in preparation for my journey home. So, this was my dramatic release as I was taken to a remote creek in Delta State. A friend volunteered to pick me at the point the kidnappers arranged to drop me off. In finding our way out of the remote place, I was now afraid of possible machete -wielding robbers, after living in morbid fear of militants with AK 47 riffles for three weeks. That is Nigeria for you – from one fear to another.
