FamilyRe: How Relevant Is Bearing A Male Child In Today's World? by Creamish(f): 9:27am On May 24, 2016
byvan03:
I deal with teen girls on daily basics so I have an idea of what's like to have them around. There is nothing I won't do to protect my female child, so everyone is safer that I don't have one to protect.

Girls are so adorable, but I rather not have them. Let mine remain safe wherever they are. No one will come to my house yarning some gibberish about seeing ripe agbalumo just to take away my child. Then what if she doesn't have balls to deal with life issues? She will call me crying when hurt abi? That will shatter my heart, I just can't, maybe God knows that I can't deal. I pray it remains as it is.
Lolz. .. UV got a phobia for female kids.. I see ur point.. but then again some male kids come with drama..eg Denrele grin.

Regardless of the gender of my kids, raising them right determines the level of headache I'll have. Cultism issues is my biggest scare for male kids so I'm thinking of taking mine abroad for their Bsc and Masters... Naija universities get as they be...

What should I dub thee, O woman of wisdom and virtue? You come as pure as gold, and your values endures through the rusty times of perversion and rebellion.

Young women shall learn at your feet and build a healthy tomorrow for themselves; young men shall sing your praise and be comforted that our mother's advice didn't go down the drain

PinketteDawn:
If you have read one of my previous posts, I mentioned that I want my man to lead me. My man is not above me neither am I beneath him. We are also not rubbing shoulders together. He is the leader and the head of the home. I love the fact that you agree with me that He, the man, the head, the leader, also needs to love and respect his wife as his better half. Most men get carried away in their bid to head that they forget this 'love and respect' which they owe their wives ordinarily. They see their women as tools who exist merely to always please them.

A leader is a visionary who carried his people along. A leader can only win through his followers and most successful husbands today know this.
Humility does not mean enduring and tolerating abuse from your husband because he is the man.
Valid points. We share the same views here.

FamilyRe: What Is African Marriage About And What Is It Values? by Creamish(f): 12:31pm On May 21, 2016
PinketteDawn:
Please include verse 21: Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Both husband and wives submit to each other. It is not sequential. Husbands do not wait for your wives to submit to you before you love them. The same bible also told us to love our neighbour as much as we love ourselves meaning that even as a wife, you should also love your husband without waiting for him to love you first.
Love and Respect for God and each other ensures a successful marriage. The woman does not stand above the man. She must respect him as the head of the home. She is his partner. He must love and respect her as well as his better-half. This is not about the new generation belief that women are equal to men. That sh!t does not apply in marriage.

The way u treat each other determines the direction ur marriage takes. It also tells how well the kids' home training goes. Pride should be kicked out the door for the sake of peace. Both party must remain faithful for no one has the right to cheat on the other.

Creamish is Godly. And that's why she's priceless. Who can steal her crown? Neither betrayal or name calling can unseat her from the seat reserved for the virtuous.

She will drink from the fountain of love and fulfilment. The fangs of greed and rebellion will not come near her borders for she's firmly secured by truth.

She's loved.

It's simple!

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands.

Husbands love your wives.

This principle has worked for all successful marriages I know. It worked for my grandparents; it worked for my parents (over 30 years in marriage, yet I've never seen them fight/yell/or shout at each other).

This same principle/ethics will I uphold in my family, and same would be passed to my children. Even if Obama legalizes marriage between man and pig, my own ethics and principles STAND.

Onegai:

You should be worried. These boys will want to marry your daughter
. And with what I read on NL, I refuse to allow Baby E marry a Nigerian man. Because it's getting worse. This is how corruption started and no-one asked tough questions and it was left unchecked. Now it is a huge hydra-headed monster that cannot be killed. Same thing with our Family, Community and Menfolk. If men are truly the heads of the family, what does it say that infidelity, domestic violence, shifting of responsibility and blame, child rape and children out-of-wedlock are accepted nowadays. At the rate we are going, the next generation of women will be glad that their husbands only beat them once in a while. This is how India started, to the point where getting on a public bus became an invitation to rape, assault and Murder. This is how South Africa started and look at them now.

I am not demonizing men. But for God's sake, all you guys not worried when you read NL's frontpage? Is there no little part in your brain going "yeah, I love fighting in Family section's on-going Gender wars, but sh.it, the level of craze I see exhibited by a lot of men is getting frightening".
@bolded.. Not sure if I should be thankful I've got sons only..

Nwayz.. in all d craze, there r still good men there so all is not totally lost. Let's hope all they r doing now is bragging. When they get mature and ready to settle down wit responsibilities, they will change for the better..
