Very lax security for a bank, the roof should be fool proof, alarm systems supposed to go off, the perimeter fence is not well protected.

Someone has many criminal cases to answer at the same time, yet he's friends with Lagos State government.

Why am I even wondering? Is Sanwo-Olu himself not an ex convict in the US?

Birds of the same feather
You ipob Obidient, the governor is friendly to every lagosian, and open to meet people.

Tell me one reason why you call him sanwo olus friend, you kids should not turn nairaland to nursery school. Your dumbness is embarrassing to Nigeria.

Can you show us a list of those goods Nigerians don't really need, probably because you produce enough for the teeming population?
Are you a clown?

Don't you know difference between necessities and luxury goods?

Or do they spend naira in America how idiots demand and spend dollars in here...your empty head can't proffer good solutions, you are criticizing people who are. Go Bleep your bitch, this page is for thinkers. Mumu.

A low-hanging fruit is Tinubu's obviously fraudulent secondary school attendance claim. He can write to Cambridge University to verify the GCE A-level result that Tinubu presented to Southwest College. If it turns out that it’s fake or belongs to someone else, he can cause Daley College to rescind his associate degree.

If his associate degree is rescinded, his bachelor's degree from CSU will automatically follow. With no qualifications to present to INEC to prove that he has at least the equivalent of a secondary school certificate, he'd be legally ineligible to run again.
You be Obi or Atiku pikin, face your work, no kill yourself for greedy people wey no send you.

This is naivety speaking.

All those items you mentioned are luxuries whose imports don't even contribute up to 4 percent of the pressure on the FX market.

Why?
Those are items that are comfortably affordable to Nigerians that don't number up to 10 million, at this very instant. Taking them off the import list or taxing them heavily is going to have an infinitesimal effect on the current naira/dollar quagmire. And humans have a way of sourcing for things that are out of reach, even if they have to circumvent the system. The moment you raise taxes on those things or ban their importation, they automatically become twice as expensive as cocaine. Importers will put more money into smuggling them in, and those willing consumers will only be too happy to spend even more to acquire them. You have solved nothing.

You people keep prescribing paracetamol for acute malaria. Fuel, food, health care and education are the major drains on our FX right now. Fix the basic rots in those four places with local production, and you have automatically eased pressure on the naira by 50 percent. Those are the things every ordinary Nigerian sweats to afford. If those things are domestically produced in the right quantity and quality, importers will no longer make profits from bringing them in, cause people will opt for what is home and affordable.
We need to utilize both import ceilings and domestic production, so we achieve quick results. There are so many things we are importing that we do not need, I can not mention all right now, but believe me, if we place import ceilings on some of those things we will live well without them. Especially forcing companies to build production units in Nigeria, companies like Benz, Toyota, Honda, should be producing from Nigeria.

You cannot drastically reduce imports when you don't have locally produced alternatives to those import products you're cutting off.

Do you want to create chaos in a national dimension? What is even wrong with some of you?
Some products like whiskey, cigars, luxury cars, private jets, expensive body creams, perfume, luxury items in general, government can ban some or put heavy import duties on them, to discourage it's import...we should approach foreign producers to start off manufacturing plants in Nigeria. Critical times call for critical measures. We are looking for how to solve the currency crises, you are talking nonsense.

happney65:
How do you reduce your imports when you don't even have electricity to produce here and the cost of Diesel has even gone off the roof

How?
I said things we don't need...so many things we import are luxury goods, we don't need them. Force the manufacturers to come here and build the manufacturing units here, produce from here.

Why are we using dollars in Nigeria...some Nigerians use it as a status symbol spending dollars in Nigeria, this is unecesary and part of why dollar keep increasing in value. If we stop using dollar and demanding for it excessively, it's value will drop.

What evidence do you have that the Word Bank will never have Nigeria's interest at heart. I find that remark strange.

Can you show me hard evidence
World bank and IMF are tools created by American system and their allies to perpetuate their nei colonization of our economy and system. IMF tells us what they tell us simply because they want us to be able to pay back the loans with interest, and they tell us these lies to keep the dollar in power. Are you saying our CBN governor and all our intelligent economists are dumb?

We should stop listening to world Bank and IMF.
BusinessRe: World Bank Warns CBN Against FX Control, Direct Lending, Subsidy Programmes by creativehubb: 2:48pm On Oct 06, 2023
Nigerian government, CBN governor, do not listen to world bank and IMF, they are only concerned in making money off loans they gave us. World bank and IMF are not our friend.

The entire civil service required an overhaul, government should make all payments by use of token, electronic and transfer, hand to hand payment encourages stealing of public funds. We must use IT systems to combat these loses to government coffers.

...or better still, heavily tax those goods to discourage demand and thus need for dollar by every trader.
Every government in the world put in deliberate measures to protect it's currency and economy. Using too much naira(resources) to buy few dollars is a huge capital flight and loss of our national wealth. Government must ban the usage of dollars inside Nigeria, force all embassies to collect naira as payment for embassy fees, and force nations that we buy from to collect naira, or we form a trade group where we pay for goods with local currency. It is a shame how we allow dollar and america rip us off.

Reciprocacy is the language of foreign diplomacy. Era of slave trade is over, you must regard me as I regard you, respect me like I do you, reciprocacy is the way of the modern world, Nigeria must end this neo colonization, and subservient mentality, our political office holders are embarrassing us with this slave and oga attitude towards America, the West and Europe. We don't really need the West, we can sustain ourself with our market.

This is an organised crime network...those Alhajis that have bachas are the bosses, without those alhajis operating illegal scrap yards, those boys will have nowhere to take it to...those alhajis even employ some of these boys, to go around removing iron from anywhere, they don't care.

Lagos state government should close all those illegal scrapyard where they buy iron and metal scraps, and use lawma to operate legitimate scrap iron and metal collection points for recycling...if it's regulated they won't receive stolen iron materials like manhole cover, bridge railings etc. Raid the scrapyards and ban them to solve this economic sabotage.

why single out one person because of his opinion
But it's all fake news, Obi is the chief leader of the headless mob, he tactly incites them... shamelessly saying that day and I quote- "some leaders are using fake results, Nigeria don't need a leader with fake results" but now CSU has confirmed Tinubu certificate is original, that he is indeed a graduate of the school. You are patriotic because this land bore you, it's soil formed you, and it's Sun and water gives you life, it's an obligation to be patriotic.
