@All, @Mods. My sincere apologies for dis misinforming post. I actually got d news from sports radio and uncharacteristic of me, I cosidered it true without verifying it. I feel very embarrassed. This piece of information is not true. David Moyes has not been sacked neither has it been officially made known. I will modify d topic asap. Pls accept my apology. |

oluplus: I saw it coming. This is so sad. Those players should be sacked too. I shall be the first and not the last in this new year.Very unfair. At least a season's grace should have been given. |
I don't see it coming - at least not this soon. The Manchester United coach is among 'favourites' to be sacked this season after a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur this evening (Jan 1,2014) at Old Trafford. Odds makers have listed David Moyes as one of the top five to lose their job very soon. Moyes has guided Manchester United FC to the second round of the Uefa Champions League and 7th position on the Premier League table. www.sundayworld.com/sport/soccer/odds-tumble-on-moyes-being-sacked I feel for the guy, but I would love to see United in the Championship (Division 1). |
Obinnau: you cant just become a moderator like that, as far as i know its a rigourous process, when there is an open position, regular and long time members are screened and other members are asked to vouch about ur online character. The final decision rests with seun.Ok. Thanks bro. |
kimco: hahahahhahha. us ghana had our own too. was said da indians came out of sardine tin which da coach dropped himself. the player dat sacrificed himself was called shamo quaye. also the match was the world cup final. funniest thing though was that prior to hearing dat story ghana had never in qualified for the world cup ever. shame some actually still believe it. thats y india plays football nolonger cos they were banned by fifa. asem ooooo.lol. ![]() Tot it was a Nigerian fable. Why cant u say much on 3? I'm very much interested sir. |
Please, did you watch the match or hear about it?. When I was young, this story used to be common that India used juju to beat Nigeria 99-1. I heard it was a well known Nigerian football player (Samuel Okwaraji) that scored our only goal, the ball changed to a stone and he kicked it without thinking twice and sacrificed his life for that lone goal. All our players were just seeing double, all our goalkeeper could see each time an Indian player played the ball at him was a roaring lion and a ball of fire which made him to runaway from the goal post. I also heard that Nigeria won the match on the basis of that lone goal and that this was why India was banned forever from playing football. Please, is this story true?. Did you watch it? |
Obinnau: yes you can. Thanks bro. |
Obinnau: Bro its not an easy job and we are not paid.hmmm, sounds like u're a mod. Perhaps u shld be able to help out sir. |
modextus: Do they get paid??Another VERY IMPORTANT question...lol |
dejt4u: Although, i'm nt in d best position to giv u coprehensive answers to ur questions..bt OP means Original PostThanks bro. Highly appreciated. |
I really don't know which section exactly this topic should be in. Pls help Mods. Speaking of Mods, as Nairalanders, we have become acquainted with certain Nairaland terms such as OP, MOD, etc. But while it is clear that the OP (I don't even know the full meaning) of a topic is the one who posted the topic, it is not yet clear to me the full definition of MOD (Moderator). However, one thing is clear: Moderators are VERY VERY POWERFUL. I should think that as moderators, their primary objective is to oversee and maintain order and adherence to Nairaland laws. I know that Moderators have the power to ban accounts, hide posts, and most importantly (to me) select topics for the front page. What I, as well as many others, do not know is who exactly are these Moderators? Can one aspire to become one? This has prompted me to ask the questions: 1. Are Moderators co-founders of Nairaland with President Seun? 2. Are they 'normal' Nairaland users enthroned with much power? 3. If 2 is positive, what are the criterias for selection of Mods? 4. What is the full duty or what are the (other) powers of the Mods? 5. Are they Moderators forever or are they changed from time to time? Replies from more informed Nairalanders will be highly appreciated. Thanks. |
@Op. I can help dear. Here's his number: 0812773434*. |
Don1Dee: Your head is there broda.I sight u bro. If u're nt an Akokite, den u never went to university. U either went to college or 'tertiary institution'. ![]() |
Ola one: ^^From Tinubu to Obasanjo. If I may ask, Mr Tinubu, what crises? E.g the killing of Bola Ige? Or the one caused by denying your administration your deserved LG allocation? The uproar caused by the shameful neglect of Lagos State when he was in power? Or the shameful, deplorable and indefensible condition of federal roads in Lagos State despite being the nation's commercial nerve centre.GEJ comes in and all that is a thing of the past. He is d only president without sentiment for political parties including his. A true Nigerian. I love GEJ and God has chosen him. Fresh Air jare... GEJ till 2019 |

i begin to wonder, is this FIFA ranking really genuine or are they just confused? |
The highest climbers of 2013, thanks to nine wins, two draws and only one defeat, are Ukraine, who have collected no fewer than 312 points since December 2012, moving up 29 places to 18th and gaining the title of Mover of the Year for the first time. The results of 30 international matches have been taken into account for the current edition of the ranking. In total in 2013, the results of 918 matches have been taken into account, many of which were friendlies (415) and more than a third of which (347) were qualifying matches for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The next Fifa ranking will be published on 16 January 2014. |
Nigeria’s senior national team has dropped one place to 37th in the latest Fifa world ranking released on Thursday morning. The Super Eagles gathered a total of 710 point to maintain their position as the fourth best team in Africa ahead of Cape Verde who are placed on 698 points to claim the 39th spot in the world and 5th in Africa. Côte d’Ivoire are ranked first in Africa with 918 points while the Black Stars of Ghana end 2013 as runners-up after gathering 849 points. Algeria are fourth on the log with 800 points. World and European champions Spain top the final ranking of the year for the sixth time in a row, securing themselves once again the title of Team of the Year. m.goal.com/x/en-ng/news/4489792/ |
Mazi_Omenuko: They are.Bro, thanks for ur contribution but Christ actually abolished the 'ritual laws' and not the ordinances. Ritual laws are such like sacrifices, incenses, killing, nt eating certain kinds of foods, dressing, casting out sick or unclean pple, ablusion et. The ten commandments remain intact but the only thing is dat it cannot give life. Infact, thr are many of such moral laws bt d ten on d mount are just d first set. Even if u observe dem and dont hv Jesus in u, its a waste. Many 'good' pple go to hell per second. They can only count to God if they are from His children. Even the apostles gave commandments along dis moral lines. |
onila: TeamvirginI sight you sis. Virginity is a privlege and an honour and I'm proud I've kept mine. #TeamVirgin |
Kudos to the best network provider in Nigeria - the only network that really cares about the interests of Nigerians. We'll keep forcing the opposition to do likewise and cut down on their greed. ![]() #TeamAirtel |
Abagworo: You are deviating. If Buhari declares or starts fighting people who want to run for Presidency under APC, then I will believe he's bent on running at all cost. I'm yet to notice that. Jonathan on the other hand is already fighting and punishing people with perceived Presidential ambitions. Tukur has solidly made a statement that he's there to ensure Jonathan is PDP candidate for 2015 without holding any primaries.Pls sir, culd u kindly educate me on these: 1. Is this d first time a party is fielding a candidate without primaries? 2. Is it stated in d constitution dat primaries must be observed b4 a party's candidate is selected? 3. Which other party other than PDP respects the primaries in terms of consistency? 4. Is there any other party conducts primaries at all? |
alpha conde: My adVice, contesting elections is way different from winning elections. Its his right to contest, its our right to let him win or not. Something tells me some people will have no choice to vote him if he contests, mayb because they can't make a better choice. What a sensible post! Kudos bro. U guys shld stop worrying abt GEJ contesting. If u rily want a change, effect it thru d polls. But I suspect that even after d criticisms, all dis pple dnt hv any better person to vote for than GEJ. You just dnt wanna admit it. GEJ all the waaayyy! |
marvelling: Doesn't matterHello sir, what do you mean by 'doesn't matter' ? have you ever seen such a multinational company make such an error?! IT'S HIGHLY UNFORGIVABLE!!! |
