PoliticsRe: Gej Sends Tenure Elongation Bill: "i Had No Shoes : " by crispgg: 9:56am On Jul 27, 2011
Bobo Jonaaaaa!!!!

The very first bill that he will send to the national assembly? It shows the mentality and lack of focus that this administration has.

He could have done a bill on power reform, health, education, Petroleum, environment, aviation, tourism, employment, security, social security, economy, transportation etc, infact there are a million and one immediate problems we have but bobo Jona is more interested in tenure elongation.

Something tells me this is phase one of his plan to stay beyong 2015.

What i know is dat d marriage is legal. Traditional marriage is recognised by law in Nigeria. Once you can produce witnesses to d union, you can even win a court case.
BusinessRe: Nigeria’ll Overtake US If It Has 24 Hours Electricity, Security by crispgg: 10:33am On Jul 19, 2011
I dont think the US has any reason to worry about us overtaking them. I dont believe that having power alone will make us overtake the US economy o, but even if that is the case. I dont see us having 24 hours power supply in the near future.
BusinessRe: FG Fails To Deliver On Its Power Target by crispgg: 10:28am On Jul 19, 2011
I did a little mental calculation on the possiblilty of GEJ solving the power problems of Nigeria and realised that even if he works hard at it, it will take at least 10 years.

Putting into consideration the fact that all the power stations being bulit dont produce more than 300 to 400MW, and we are looking at hitting like 20,000 to 30,000MW to meet our immediate power needs. This means that we need to build like 50 power stations. Awarding contracts, designing and constructing a power station will take at least 3 years, and that is assuming that the process is fast tracked. Now, we are in Nigeria where a process that normally takes one day takes one month, so a power station in Nigeria will take at least 5 years to build if it is not abandoned mid way. We have not considered gas supply and other logistics o.

Intrestingly, nobody talks about the problems of power distribution that we have. The distribution station at Osogbo is standing on its last legs. So after government has built all the power stations, they will now remember that we have to rehabilitate or build another power distribution station. Another five years. So if we have a committed government  we should be able to have our 30,000MW of electricity by the year 2022.

This means that anybody who is dreaming of stable power supply during GEJ's tenure is having a dream that is only at par to that of Joseph in the bible.
PhonesWhats Wrong With Mtn And Multilinks? by crispgg(op): 1:51pm On Jul 13, 2011
I have been having a horrid time trying to get on the internet with my MTN and Multilinks modems since last week.

MTN all of a sudden became so slow that to open the gmail login page alone is hell not to talk of logging in. Meanswhile, to even connect on Multilinks is almost impossible. Ive been doing all my browsing from my mobile phone and I'm not finding that too comfortable.

And we are supposed to use these guys for the implementation of Sanusi's 150,000 naira cash limit. With this type of Service, you will transfer money and the thing will just hang at the top of their telecoms mast.

@bountimore, ranking is even more important for you.
It could make the whole difference for you in securing employment with a top firm.

I know that Nottingham is highly ranked in the uk, but you should check the financial times and economist mba rankings.

CareerRe: About Sap? by crispgg: 6:54am On Jul 09, 2011
Hi SAP pros.

I have a little clarification that I want from you all.

I am about to take my SAP FI e academy training programme with one of the SAP accredited vendors here in Nigeria. But i get confused with the way the software and training programmes are being bandied on this forum. My understanding is that if you dont take the training from a SAP accredited centre, you wont be allowed to take the exams, get a training certificate or have your name listed on the SAP consultant database.

Ill appreciate it if you guys will throw more light on this issue for me.

@werepeleri

one thing I have avoided doing since I joined this forum to is join the gang of people without a pint of IQ and dont know how to make an intelligent contribution but go from topic to topic throwing out insults.

But since you have asked for it, your handle itself shows your level of stupidity, you are so beneath me that you are worth less than my poo.
PoliticsMinisterial Nominee Cant Speak English! by crispgg(op): 5:05pm On Jul 02, 2011
I was totally dumbfounded while watching the ministerial screening on thursday.

There was this ministerial nominee, a lady in her 60's from one of the northern states who could hardly speak passable english.

The rockets she was throwing got so bad that the senators started shouting for her to stop. But the lady was so enthusiastic about presenting her CV that had nothing but her political activities on it didnt want to stop and kept going on and on.

At this point, the shouting of the senators got so bad that I thought the woman was not going to scale through the screening exercise successfully.
The president of the senate had to come in and stop the woman. He said that he feels that the woman should take a bow and go. The whole senate roared yes!
So our wonderful honourable ministerial nominee took a bow and left without answering a single question.

I predict that we will soon forget the missiles of Patience and the grammer of Honourable Obaiagbon. We have a new comic as minister.

I dont even know what that woman has to offer, but its all about fresh air, right?!

PoliticsRe: Did Gideon Akaluka Really Desecrate The Holy Qur'an? A Contrarian Muslim Review by crispgg: 8:07pm On Jun 21, 2011
This post by Jamalah is very educative and incisive. What he describes here reminds me of when the popes of Rome ruled christendom. These popes had absolute power and could depose any king of any country who dared oppose them by simply issuing a proclamation and excommunicating them from the church.

It was a taboo then to be seen with a bible then. Just try it at the risk of death. The few bibles available then were practically chained and locked in a few cathedrals. To even read it, you had to be a priest, travel hundreds of miles with permissiom from high authority to be allowed to touch the scriptures. So the popes were able to control religion by issuing decrees. They even sold certificates that permitted people to sin.

A lot of people like Martin Luther, a former catholic priest himself fought with thier lives to ensure that the bible is commonly available and in any language that you want it to be. Those popes never wanted it this way.

Liberalising the quran should be advocated by enlightened Islamic scholars like the author of this post. I hope he and others will take up the challenge

There are different schools and their tuition differs. Some take as low as 1,000 dollars while some take as much as 2,000 dollars.

its not as bad as you think. You can actually pay your fees instalmentally. when you think of the frustration of writing Jamb over and over again. and you consider how much Nigerian private Universities cost. Its actually cheaper. You can also graduate in less than 4 years sef!
You can go to Ghana just as if you are travelling to any Nigerian city.
The government universities in Ghana are much more expensive for foreign students. costing from 6,000 dollars! We can also process that for you if you are interested.

BusinessRe: Sanusi's Goof! Union Bank Was Never Insolvent! by crispgg: 9:04am On Jun 15, 2011
@Omo-Tier.
I am not suprised, most Nigerians are being fooled at a new level. You have a vendetta, move against your enemies (whom you are as bad as) and paint it in the eyes of Nigerians as if you are the messiah.
Please just be unbiased for a minuite. How did Unity bank survive the clampdown? How come forex black market operators have never had it so good? Did Sanusi not give out a loan beyond single obligor limit to a company owned by one of First bank non Executive Directors while he was still an ED in FBN? The loan went bad and thats the same crime he accused the other MDs for.
Abeg shine ya eye!
BusinessRe: Sanusi's Goof! Union Bank Was Never Insolvent! by crispgg: 4:48pm On Jun 14, 2011
I hope that those nairalanders who think that Sanusi is a messiah will have a rethink now. All those MD's he appointed are having the feast of a lifetime. The guy at Intercontinental too de chop hin own passe passe.
An article in the guardian of today showed that around 40,000 people have lost their jobs to Sanusi's indiscretions. CBN staff complain that he does only what he thinks fit, doesnt take advise from anybody.
By the time the guy finishes with our economy we go hear am o!
I only hope Jonathan gets rid of him before then.

Congratulations on being certified. Please I need a little advise from you and the other SAP professionals on nairaland. Do you think reading up some basic accounting will suffice?
PoliticsRe: Is Sanusi Mad?. . Cbn Now Into Building Hotels? by crispgg: 10:12am On May 17, 2011
Sanusi is a disaster waiting to happen.

1. The guy is not matured or experienced enough for the CBN job. After a few years as a GM in UBA, he came to Firstbank as an Executive Director for 2 years, he was an MD in firstbank for less than six months before he was given the job of managing the CBN.

2. He is also guilty of giving out bad loans while in First Bank, evidence shows that he gave out a loan to one of Firstbank non executive directors running into billion that went bad, it was published in the newspapers during the height of the banking crises. As a result of this indiscretion, Firstbank is still reeling from this, they have sacked around 1,000 staff since 2009. Their end of year result of 2010 is so poor, GTB and Zenith even did better than FBN.

3. The Naira was 120 when he took over at CBN, we are almost at 160 now. he has liberated the forex black market for his aboki brothers, something that Soludo fought and was able to reduce drastically.

4. He told us that the banks would have recovered by now, there is still a lot of confusion and uncertainty in the banking sector. CBN is still extending credit to ALL banks, that was the major reason that he sacked the erring bank MD's.

If Jonathan doesnt want the economy to crash finally, he had better get rid of this guy fast. Imagine limiting cash withdrawal to 150k, now he is building hotels, please where is the sensibility in this?

I have been able to speak with people who were at the hall when the General wept. I was told that the TV stations didn't show half of what happened. The mood in the hall went cold as ice and everybody, including old and young started weeping too with tears rolling down their cheeks. What we saw on TV was actually edited to show when the General and the audience had controlled themselves!
