iamspeedracer: I will do research about the transport drivers. I quoted the aviation sector because I also work as a flight operations officer. I spoke to an Uber driver in London and he claimed they can work as many hours as they choose, I however cannot confirm this, truck drivers on the other hand can only drive a certain amount of hours. A Tachograph is used to manage such hours |

And if you buy the Korean version, pray your engine no spoil. 600k. American version is 200k major parts needs replacing at 15000 miles. all from my personal experience I do not like corollas[/quot I can attest to most of the pros bar the speeding. I can only do that in a German build car lol. In relation to price parts that is all relative. I can't complain based on the returns of my investment. Thanks for the response, it's appreciated. |

Romeo3: elantra is better than a corolla. elantra is not better than a peugeot.
And yes.... have driven the trio. I won't pontificate on their individual merits, Im simply not comfortable how it's made to look like those two cars are put out as the best and perhaps the only options. On a side note what would you say your pros and cons where with the Elantra. I'm interested in your opinion as a high performer. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by cross8701: 6:43pm On Nov 23, 2017 |
iamspeedracer: The Elantra has a smaller engine so it's expected for it to out perform the Corolla. You are missing the point whilst buttressing my it. When a question is asked about any car, certain people are quick to say Corolla and Peugeot. I am saying there are other cars that are only as good but perhaps even better. We need to distinguish between opinions and facts. |

ogunvic41: DONT GO NEAR HYBRIDS FOR UBER AND TAXIFY... THE MONEY U SAVED ON FUEL WONT BE ENOUGH TO MAINTAIN THAT CAR...DO U KNOW HOW MUCH HYBRID BATTERIES COST? ABOUT 700K...DONT EVEN TRY IT OUR CARS DO 2000KM TO 2500KM WEEKLY Where are the facts to back up your statement. My cousin uses this same car and indeed changed the said batteries, she did not spend anything close to the amount you just quoted. |

gwng: Brand New Hybrid batteries can be gotten for 450K. HOWEVER WHEN AN HYBRID FAILS, THE WHOLE PACK DOES NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE FAULTY MODULE CAN BE REPLACED FOR AS LOW AS 15K In total agreement with you. If these so called hybrids were so terrible why are they the main cars you see Uber drivers use in Europe. Yes, agreed our roads are bad but if a Corolla can do it so can a Toyota Hybrid. I think the main issue is finding someone with the technical abilities. Alot of people talk so much crap here and it seems like if you don't use a Corolla or a Peugeot 407 then one is doomed. I have few cars on Uber and only one is a Corolla, the others are Hyundai Elantras which all out perform the so called Corolla |

in the absence of a cleargy/spiritual head, a legal practisioner or a middle level civil servant will vouch for you not forgetting he has to know your mothers maiden name, your locality ,have your passport, 2 guarantors sef and a handwritten application plus an affidivit of good conduct.
in my line of business, if you dont provide all, i aint employing you moreso if your job description involve handling money or valuable assests. Good for you, just displays your level of ignorance to be honest. It's a good thing most of us are not seeking employment from you. I worked for over a decade in HR for KPMG, I'd be dammed if one's religion or marital status was a prerequisite for carrying out their duties. As I said the man can demand for anything he likes,it's his car, I just don't see how being married and being religious matters however, I stand to be corrected with no assertion of disrespect to the op. |

A Driver with a religion will be asked to get a recommendation from his spiritual head. Nonsense!!!! And who would vouch for the so called spiritual head..... Nigerians and religion. One forgets God gave us freewill. The man can ask for whatever requirements he chooses though, it's his car |
Car Talk › Re: 2016 Toyota Avalon Flooded, (non Starter) Needs Repair. Solved page 5 by cross8701: 8:50am On Nov 10, 2017 |
Scammer: Lots Of Hulabaloo here, Let's keep decorum.. Car is meant for my personal use. If you won't buy a flooded car, Your choice, Each person is entitled to their own opinion. I'm buying a Toyota which is a basic vehicle with few modules, the car is a Win Win. If it runs or not.
People bid as high as $40K USD For flooded cars whose real value is between 70-80k Usd. If you don't buy it someone else will, And i definitely know what i'm getting into.
Do you know the cost a limited avalon with all options ticked?
Like elshanautos mentioned, The car will definitely run and drive perfectly again. It wasn't submerged or buried in the OCEAN , It's slightly flooded...
Flooded car can be a blessing or a curse. There are rules. Make sure they are run and drive, If it's a non starter, Make sure to know the water level. Avoid flooded benz or bmw They have more dangerous electronics and modules.
Fingers are crossed, when vehicle arrives In Benin. It will be inspected and diagnosed there first. Fortune favors the brave my brother...Let them sit on the side line and be talking crap they know very little about. Firstly insurance companies in most developed countries write off cars that the repair bill cost up to 30% of the value of the car and most of that cost is labour. The fact that these cars appear in an auction website does not make them "Lemons"as one expert eloquently put it. I drive a 2014 Ford Explorer Limited that suffered salt water flood damage. The car was towed from the port to my house and i put in a new battery and after changing all the necessary oil, cranked it up and car fired to life with not a single fault. I actively look for flooded cars and as far as you keep a healthy budget and have a decent mechanic and car electrician, you are good to go. I have sold 15 cars and counting from my house and no buyer has returned claiming i sold them a Lemon. I have no doubt in my mind you got an absolute bargain. It has already been mentioned that a lot of cars on naija roads are flooded vehicles, clearly something that missed a lot of the naysayers. Goodluck |

deedee44: Dear parrot, Please in what constitution is it written that bankers have to earn more than uber drivers? Oh! you think drivers are not worth much because they're being employed for car owners to work for them, please are your bankers the owners of the banks? We are all serving our employers be it corporately or the other way. Secondly you calculate the best amount a driver can make in a week and you believe your birthright is the lion share, who says owner of car must earn more than the driver? As a matter of fact owners and drivers are business partners, no one is doing anyone any favour. Fine you're concerned as an owner that if your car develops fault you will bear the cost so why not earn more than your driver but you're not concerned that the driver is the one being exposed to accident, armed robbery, ritualists etc. You don't think that the driver may lose his life or become handicapped as a result of driving for you so why not let him earn more. That's selfishness. Lastly when you're told about the risks drivers face or drivers ask to reduce your asking price, you enjoy saying.. the job is what it is if you can't stand it back off, what you don't know is that the saying can go the other way round like.. the job is what it is, if you're not content with what is realistic then back the f*uck off the business. The 40k is not the actual problem but your attitude, a wise boss respects his employees, with the right attitude drivers will happily do 50k/week for you if it's sustainable for him. That's the little piece of my mind, eat it fast and digest it slowly. Yours sincerely I've read quite a lot of gibberish here dammm. Nobody is forcing a driver to accept 60k, 50k 40k or any amount for that matter, however, you don't expect a partner to invest in a car and give it out for a rubbish weekly fee. The laws of economics shows supply and demand gives the partner the upper hand as we see here on a daily basis with drivers begging for cars to drive. I personally charge my drivers £35k weekly and if other partners charge less or more then to each their own but frustratingly there are a lot of people here with self entitlement attitudes spending so much time complaining. If you are not happy with the agreement with the partner, walk away!!!! |

iamspeedracer: If skills or knowledge wasn't needed uber wouldn't be holding training and retraining sessions. There's more to it than the way you put it if you want to be effective and hir the high figures weekly Dude don't confuse experience with skills. The fact that some drivers know how to position themselves or play the system has nothing to do with skills, also, just because some drivers here display delusions of grandeur does not make them skillful. The only skill required here is the ability to drive a car. Writing someone off because they are a new driver displays poor judgement. Am a partner with four drivers and the ones that started new were the best performers. |

You are arrogant Rude to your customer Bad customer service Unnecessarily expensive Know it all attitude. entparrot: Is all about interest. Drivers are interested in good vehicles, if ur vehicle no good or problematic u don't expect them to struggle with u, so when ur vehicle is in good shape make sure u maximize ur profit. Thats not entirely true. There are drivers you'll give a car in pristine condition and they will destroy it. I refuse to paint everybody with the same brush but lets not kid ourselves some of the drivers here that complain are just as bad as the Uber they complain so bitterly about. I had two drivers, one had a personal hygiene worse than a pig. He was lazy, rude and constantly complained. The other driver treated my car like it was his own, paid his money with no excuses and was as honest as they come. Its not always about the car, Uber or even the Partner. Sometimes its just the person. Needless to say one is still with me and the other is now another person's problem. |
