slydog: Their training help a lot, they have testimonies of their student getting jobs. But you hv to put in the work. The path to follow will be based on what you study [i don't know what GBM is], your research on potential careers you feel you can do very well and the one that have good job prospects i belive. Gbm is global business management. Thanks for your response. |

slydog: Excellent summary.
Agree with point 1, 1000%. I did my research well while chasing IELTS, waiting for PR, researching cities to settle, job market all. Immediately I got PR, I began applying for jobs, all manner of jobs, I did 5 interviews in Nigeria before I arrived & got a job [one of the five I did interview for in Nigeria] two months after I arrived. Within that two months of arrival to Canada, I applied and did several interviews. I began networking with people, the church community has been a blessing for me. I realised there are lot of opportunities for upward mobility, was it easy juggling current job and applying for more jobs? No. They say pivot to IT to make 6 figure, bro, I did Scrum, I did Data Analysis, I did Business analysis all with black tech, lol. I was about starting Cybersecurity governance before I got something better. All these training na time, energy and money going o, Saturday & Sunday training training training, lol but we thank God. Nothing is easy, absolutely nothing. I know a frnd who did interview with govt 22 times and he did not give up. He just got a role now and is resuming this month 25th and moving from Saskatchewan to Alberta. Imagine if he gave up on the 10th attempt. No giving up mehn.
I agree with your second point 10,000% I realized that like you said, if you are unfortunate when you arrive and meet people complaining about everything, if you don't leave that circle, u will be stuck with them at that level they are. When I was saving to buy my first house in one year, someone came and told me why I dey rush, say I should take life easy and enjoy and buy vacation plan to Cacun and flex the life of my head. I thank my God that not only did I not listen to this person, but few months later someone shared testimony with me say that year he bought three houses. I'm like, I'm hoping to get just one & relax the life of my head someone is buying 3 in one year. My vision changed, my goals changed. I had to put my head into my job as a credit mortgage analyst and study the nuances of real estate to be able to apply it for myself. I was looking for another job outside banking and met people working in govt, they gave me insight as well, I choose to concentrate only in applying for govt role after spending all that money and time and energy doing all those IT related courses. If u fall into the wrong clique, e go hard small.
Once again, I agree with your 3rd point. Practice delayed gratification. Look at my example above, I was working na, I could afford to take my family for vacation to Mexico, but no, I told my wife this our first three years make we hustle am, write exam we fit write, do investment we fit do. I remember entering Hyundai dealership, as soon as they did credit check they offer me 2023 Hyundai Sonata, 0 downpayment, small biweekly payment, I looked at it, it was a cool deal. Worst case scenario my kid ccb will pay the biweekly with no issues. I was not with my ID so I couldn't conclude that day, which was on a Friday, we were to continue on Monday. On Sunday I just told my pastor in passing say I dey bring my brand new ride for prayer on Monday. That day he opened my eye! Delayed gratification. I had the job, the means of paying, I had just bought my first house, I needed the 2023 ride to top it off. I bless God for the revelation. Dealership call me tire. I did not go back to them, manager admin, finance they were all calling me that the car is ready for pickup. For where, I went to Facebook and bought a 10 year old car, a 2014 Hyundai Tucson which I still drive today and paid cash, no finance. Time to buy latest car go come, time to vacation abroad go come, make we grow and build first, at least this first three years before citizenship.
I agree with point 4, 100,000%. Keep building, working hard, have a vision, write it down so he that read it will run with it. God makes all things possible in his own time, i acknowledge that not everyone may run fast, I never look down on anyone, I help in my spare time people arrange their resume and coach for interview, by God's grace I have 4 people I have coached who have good jobs today, one sef dey earn pass me for govt, glory to God. May nothing hold us down, Amen. how did the training from BlackTECH help you? I am also doing a business analysis course with them and also on coursera. Do you have any advise on a special career path to follow? Note, I am a student currently studying GBM. Thanks in advance for your response. |

Amazingbaby: You understand me quite well, begging is not a big deal I have live with him since 2010 what if I beg and I have to tip toe on our marriage for me not to trigger him to leaving again, once men see your fear they will try to use it to their advantage.i just saw my self begging for ever and I am already tired.what stop him from leaving the next time and wait for me to beg....I am so exhausted. beg and change, get things to involve yourself in....he will change too,and if he doesn't you know u tried, you have to be your husband's best friend..love and care for him, then no other woman can snatch him. |

maasoap:

Now, this is funny and hilarious. Really, you actually considered this a worthy advice? So, if you ever treated your wife like that, you would be expecting her to apologise to you? I am lady ,and I am married...like I said she is not blameless,so is he...if she sincerely acknowledges her own fault in all this , I can bet her husband will too...if she can only listen to him, she sounds like she undermines him and doesn't listen to him at all...no one wants to be undermined, male or female. And yes,she has more to lose if he leaves her,it's cold outside.and she has no evidence but paranoia. |
Family › Re: Update On My Husband Leaving Us by Crummy: 10:24pm On Feb 10, 2022 |
Amazingbaby I have read both threads and sincerely hope you would listen to what I have to say. 1) it would shock you, but I don't think your husband is cheating on you with that girl you are suspecting, though he might be cheating with other girls but not that one. 2) your husband admires that girl, I think he find her easy to talk to and he connects with her. That's why he was always talking about his business to her at his friends place. You don't communicate well with your husband 3) you deserve an explanation from your husband, but not probably the way you ask right now, men are the easiest people to get if you know their password 4) I think you are paranoid and that is because u don't have much on your hands, once u get a job and something you are passionate with, you won't have much time for unfounded allegations. 5) not giving peace in the home is a thing, a husband should not feel bad whenever he is going home to his family, his house should feel like a home not a battlefield, it's not everything you fight about.. and before you demand transparency, ensure that you yourself is transparent. 6) your husband probably doesn't feel loved or respected in his home,it your duty as a wife to do that no matter what anyone says, why marry someone you cannot love or respect? I think he leaving home for you is for u to come to your senses and beg him... 7) you should apologize for your behaviour, promise to change, listen to him and care for him and see if he would still behave the way he is.. please don't give up on your marriage, I really don't think that girl is cheating with your husband, for her to mention she is a minister and answer your questions well she is not a demon,if u meet ladies ready to snatch your husband you sef go fear. your husband would change once he sees genuine change and trust, it's obvious u don't trust him and it's understandable considering what he did with your friend, but u have to make your marriage work..no fun in divorce.... Thanks.. |

ImaIma1: It's not their job to be harsh. Maybe you should watch The Voice Nigeria and see how judges should talk to people.
Nigerian idol judges act like demi gods that hold your future in their hands, especially Sheyi shay. She look down her nose at the contestants and acts jealous of the good singers. Nigerian idol's audition is more open than that of the voice. The voice does not have judges but coaches, their roles are different. |

living in bondage was so good for me, saw it in the cinema and I felt fulfilled..... I also saw kings of boys in the cinema and I wasn't that impressed..... I will rate LIB 8/10 it was just too top notch for a Nigerian movie.... the opening scene alone was Hollywood standard..
if Ramsey directs nneka the pretty serpent remake, I will definitely see that too.... in the cinema of course |

This was what my friend did as her husband couldn’t stay away from her for a whole year. bests: This is my Testimony…It can only be God
Timeline (6 months post AOR) CIC Account created – 20th March 2018 IELTS 5 attempt: LRWS – 8.0,7,7.5,8.5 ECA: WES -BSC and Masters Score: 464 ITA: 5th September 2018 AOR: 15th October 2018 Biometrics: 14 November 2019 MEP: 9 January 2019 PPR: 10 April 2019 COPR: 25 April 2019 Landed in Canada: 11 June 2019 First Job- 12th August 2019 VO: Ottawa Single Applicant.
I began to take the Canada hustle serious when senior colleague I really admire immigrated to Australia and Canada.
So, I had to do IELTS and WES simultaneously, registered for WES and I paid the prescribed fee which was to cover both my B.Sc from LASU and Masters from Unilag - I discovered the difference in fee between doing just B,Sc evaluation and both B.Sc and Masters is considerably low- I needed to establish contact in both schools to make the process easy, WES took about 3 months and finally concluded on 30 October, 2017. IELTS ridiculed me for my ignorance and lack of time as a banking professional, I think I wrote this exam about five 5 times, 2 of the times I missed the speaking test and finally here was my LRWS (8, 7, 7.5,8.5), armed with both WES and IELTS I applied and got my ITA on 5th September 2018
Am a bit meticulous, so I had gathered my initial documents even before acing my IELTS, documents gathering was straight forward as I was a single applicant even though I was in a serious relationship to the woman I eventually got married to.
So perhaps the most challenging after POF was my medical as I have a history of TB 13 years ago, after further checks and extra medicals I was cleared in January, 2019, medical cost about #100,000 for me, other process was going by the side, did my biometric in record time.
The Golden mail dropped around 11:30pm on April 10, 2019, I screamed 7 halleluyah and give God the glory, the first thing the next day was to go submit the passport at VFS and I received my COPR within 20days.
I booked my flight through Ethiopian airline, I almost confused Ottawa (YOW) for Toronto (YYZ), thank God for this will have been a major mistake. My flight experience was sweet, I had good in-flight entertainment and overall experience.
So, I arrived in Canada on June 11, 2019 and was welcomed to Canada with little haste, I only brought USD4,000 into Canada and spent USD1,000.00 before getting my first Job to the Glory of God and support of my friend became brother.
I started applying for jobs from Nigeria and I did my first interview on telephone though when I reached Canada the Job was gone but through friend referral, I did Job test same week I arrived in Canada- I had to choose between two(2) offers, yea, LinkedIn helped in Job search and so is personal referral (Personal referral is actually the best and can be established using LinkedIn).
Today is April 18th and I have already spent 10months of great experience in Canada...I needed to share this because I promised God to give this testimony on this platform congratulations sir, when did you marry your wife and did you go to Canada spouse unaccompanied? |

inafix2019: Hello!
I was in your position (I was 37 years last year) and got the same advice you have gotten regarding learning French and writing TEF and looking at PNP.
Those are realistic options for only very few people who have a flare for Languages, are in occupations in demand or have relatives in certain provinces in Canada.
Please evaluate your circumstances and make the best decision for you fast. In my case, I initially started online French classes paying as much as (N5,000 per hour), bought text books and downloaded apps such as Duolingo. It was after about 3months I concluded TEF was not for me and all those funds had gone down the drain.
My wife is 6years younger than myself, so we later changed strategy and patiently got all she required to become the Principal Applicant and now we have gotten our COPR.
I ordinarily would have stopped here but permit me to go a little further, and please disregard and forgive me if it offends you (it is just an innocent word of advise). I see your Marital status says "Separated". It doesn't say "Divorced". If you have kids, I believe you embarked on this journey probably to secure a better future for them. So, if your wife is younger and has a Master's degree, and it is possible to work out a means of reaching a truce with your her (for the sake of the kids and for the sole purpose of immigration) to be the PA, kindly consider it.
CRS score cut offs aren't coming down anytime soon. Best to act fast.
Bottom line is because of age, with the exception of getting a job offer, getting a provincial nomination or getting a B2 level in TEF (all of which are a tall order for many) you are realistically unlikely (although I can't rule out a miracle) to make it through as the Principal applicant. Liaise with someone who can...
Please, don't be offended by my advice. I just wouldn't want you wasting money and time like I did. My profile as the PA, expired 3months ago after 12months, with no Notification of interest. All my Expression of interest profiles to Prince Edward island and Manitoba did not yield any nomination either. After spending money trying to learn French, I doubt I can even get an A1 or A2 level in TEF, yet you get NO points unless you get a minimum of B2 level in TEF. you gave him a very good advice..... But he can also marry someone new, young with masters..... Lol |

Fortissimo502: Why go for med lab assistant (MLA)? It's better to go for med lab technologist (MLT). Much better pay and much better job prospects.
To study MLT you don't have to be a medical or science student but you'll need to have taken biology and chemistry in high school or university. If you haven't taken those courses, you can easily do them online or in night school.
Admission requirements for MLA are much less stringent. You probably don't need any science courses or you might be able to make them up after admission or something.
The whole process should cost about $20K and take between three to four years if you're going for the MLT. For MLA, you should be in and out in about a year at a fraction of the cost for MLT (maybe $6K?), but I'd strongly advise against that career path. thanks a lot for the clarification, but I decided to go for MLA because I thought i would be done on time so I can get a job fast to support myself and then go on to study nursing in school... What do you think about this? |

We always talk about marriage though. 2023 is the goal. you are both in love yet you are both growing, you especially is realizing you want more in life, you wanna focus on your business, you wanna build your finances, she is just realizing her power as a woman she is in her prime lots of guys wants her. She wants validation and attention, you really don't have that much time to spend. That said, you have 2 options 1) sit her down, tell her of your plans and how you might not be able to give her all she wants, then build her up by encouraging her to use her intellect to get herself a job to finance herself and family, motivate her to start focusing on putting her skills to use instead of depending on a man, let her know u believe in her, then both of u can together work towards building the future you want, without any of you being idle... Trust me, you have true love now, once lost it might not be easy to get back again. 2) let her go, face your dreams, when u have made it, you will meet someone else, it might take time before you find the right one that fits the new you but you will find her..... I wish you all the best. |
