Cebu:Yeah yeah. I'm going to Newcastle but then you is just gonna be a train ride away so I guess we'd hook up. Wish you the best bruv. |
tempest01:Newcastle University. Automation and Control Engineering. |
girliygirly:Thanks and amen to your prayers. |
Kleopatraxy:Hello Kleo, I can see a notification of an email from you but I can't see what's written, can't figure how their system works. Moving forward to your question, it depends on you and your faith, smiles. More seriously though, if you have a full belief go ahead for it, I think it's free, so there's no risk. Wish you the best. If you want to mail me you can reach me on m.okogwu@yahoo.com, Id respond and if anyone wants to reach me directly they can. |
tempest01:Okies. Let's then hope for the best. What school are you going to and what course? |
Cebu:Good morning. I paid for my IHS before they merged it together with paying for it while paying for the visa application. I don't know how it's done now but on the general you'd have to pay for your IHS before visa stuff. Plus I'm sure you all are aware that they do interviews now at the embassy. |
So sorry for keeping you ladies and gents waiting this long, was so busy. To the matter at hand, I learned invitations would be sent out by next month God willing. Now please let me state something, that's what I was "told". I wouldn't want a situation whereby it doesn't happen and someone would come here to run their mouth and say trash. I pray it is as the man said and I wish you all the best of luck sincerely. I've gotten my visa and just counting down the days for my departure next month. Have a goodnight rest and if anyone is in phc, it would be nice to see. Ciao. |
Hello!!! Who's interested in some news from NDDC? |
I will try and get update for you guys. Going back to phc and will visit their office hqrs when I arrive. Hope to get a straight response from them though. |
#Whistling #WaitingForSeptember #PrayingNDDC contacts you all sooner. Amen Meanwhile, e b like say here don turn to english forum. Can someone get Hon Obhiagabon abi wetin be him name to come intervene? |
alphalpha:Defer, deferred, deferment. |
Orokhe:To defer your admission, call or send the admission team an email telling them you'd like to defer. |
laidback:Uhm, I'm actually a recipient of the award last year and deferred my admission to this year September. I just enjoy the back and forth banter on the thread and then love giving insights and advice to those who really need it. |
So I got my visa yesterday, the 20 hrs p/w option was included. I don't think it applies for people in university though. I guess the rule is for people doing A levels and about to enter university. It's termed Further Education (FE). |
amscholar001:Nah. Not true. Maybe you should try calling and speaking to someone. |
With respect to the visa stuff. Id give you guys concrete information this weekend or next week after I get mine and see what it is, that would help put an end to speculation. |
I'm sorry I posted something and haven't been able to elaborate. Let me start from the UK visa thing first, I learned from the new rules if I understand it correctly and that being said, I also stand to be correct, I learned there'll either be no more 20 hours per week for international students or they are scaling it down to 10 hours. Me personally, I'm not interested in staying back after studying in the UK but Id love to have work experience outside Nigeria probably in USA, Canada or Australia, my masters program is in automation and control engineering. About the issue of usa, Canadian and Australian schools, I must state that due to the rigors involved and possibility of mistakes, it's best you use an agent, BCIE are very good and I don't think they are doing Canada for the now but they are doing USA and Australia and the fees are relatively ok but in foresight it's a far better option that UK because you can have post study work permit and get valuable experience from companies which would prove helpful should you want to come back to naija in the near future to work. For me I just need 3 years post study work experience outside Naija and I know what that would do for me. Just look for a good education agent, let them know your course and the countries you'd like, they will do the dirty job for you, lol, hence you'd not need to be throwing $90 application fee around, that na better bread now. Lol Success and good luck. Thanks. |
Use an agent. BCIE is very good amscholar001: |
Please quick advise to peeps on here. Try and look for admissions into Canadian, USA or Australian schools. Pleassseeeee!!! If you are awarded the scholarship letter you can still change so try and get the admissions down and in place. UK is messed up with their new immigration rules and stuff for international students. There are more opportunities in those three countries than in the UK. Thanks. |
Nuel1647:Yeah. I saw something like that and responded. |
csimms7:Didn't see it bro. I don't understand how this stuff works. |
Nuel1647:ok. Lemme check it. |
I've told you all, they haven't contacted anyone. When they do contact people it won't be something secret. Nuel you remember they even checked our phones to be sure the messages we got was from them. They used specific phone numbers. Leave all these people talking plenty. Meanwhile what's up with you @Nuel, didn't you go January or are you planning on starting September? |
Well, finished the call and they haven't invited anyone yet. That's all I can say. It's good to be a recipient o, lol. Questions were answered sharply. I wish you all the best. Peace. |
Lemme put out a call or two to find out and verify so as to allay all your fears. Hope the person responds though. |
doncharlso:Hahaha. You don fail am. It won't come with NDDC as the sender. Lol. It comes with a mobile number. I still have mine with me cos I was a recipient last year. Would be going September by God's grace. |
Nuel1647:No mind the guy. They've not sent invites out yet. When they do everyone will know it. Same way it happened during our time. |
Hahaha. I always love the drama in the nddc threads. Lol |
Is there anyone going to Newcastle or Sunderland here? |

I got it last year. Going this September though. I deferred to this September. |
Dantidote, I wish you the very best this year, I remember you from last year's forum. May the Lord give you the scholarship this year. For those asking questions on what was asked, who you think say go tell you? You're all up in this together and it's totally unfair on those who have gone in to sweat it out. I'm a beneficiary who went through same process, would be leaving this September cos I deferred. Go in and show them the stuff you are made of, mago mago dey? Probably yes but from my experience last year, it was largely by a far margin than I expected plain and honest, of course ogas at the top had slots (normal thing for we country) but it wasn't overwhelming. Success and wish you all the best. |
Ahem!!! My people how una dey? |
