Politics / Re: Akinwunmi Adesina: We Were Mocked For 'Cassava Bread’, Now Everyone Eats It by CSTR13: 9:36am On Dec 07, 2016
When you compare this adesina with the current audu ogbeh, you don't need a prophet to tell you that Nigeria has undegone a massive downgrade in government.
It plays out in virtually every ministerial portfolio comparism.
The likes of Ngozi okonjo iweala, Aganga and adeshina blow their current replacement out of the water completely.
The only place i have seen an uncharatersistic upgrade in the buhari administration is Ibe kachukwu.
Ibe kachukwu is the most functional minister in the buhari cabinet.

In sane climes with functional and non-bigoted presidents, such powers belong to the president, like we see in America.
But here in Nigeria we have something else as president, so the senate has stepped up which is very good.
It is unfortunate that if Nigeria ever gets a decent president maybe in the next 200 years, his power would have been diluted down completely, thanks to the current buffoon we have in aso-rock.

That of committed I agree. After all, it depends on what type of commitment we're alking of.

Committed to unity of Nigeria? No. They want Biafra but they don't know how to go about it. grin grin
Committed to good governance? No. they support every known corrupt person, dead or alive. grin grin
Committed to fraud and drug-pushing? yes grin grin grin
Committed to chest-beating and noise-making? yes grin grin grin

We are with you in your APC adventure as long as he promotes igbo interests like he is gradually beginning to do.

Which streets? The old court road in Sabon Gari which was renamed after him and which other?

Access to Emirs Places like every other governor? Did you just say "complete"? Grow up. Can you state the inner circle that Rochas is within?

Let me restate an obvious fact. The reason Rochas is accepted in the North is because he is an effective tool in the regions hands and defers to it's interests against his own region's. He also has a fascination for the rich northern culture he was exposed to in his formative years in the North which is quite endearing.

When we are talking Presidency however, that's totally another kettle of fish. But as I stated earlier, you have the liberty to believe otherwise.
Which other southerner apart from president jonathan has a single shop named after him in the north in recent times?
Which southerner in recent times have as much as widepread support in the north as okorocha?I really don't know what you are talking about here. Many if not most of the almajiris(under-aged and over-aged) , that would vote are beneficiaries of his philantropism.
On one hand, you say okorocha is a tool for northern interest and yet you say they won't vote for him because he is an igbo man or whatever.
Unless, the north wants to rule forever, power will have to come south sometime, and there is no other politician in the south assured of northern support like okorocha. Atleast, they trust him to further their interests. I may not agree with that but that is the truth.
He may a northern tool, but that is not the point in question. It even helps him in the whole backward political equation.

Firstly, all fingers are not equal. The North has the electoral muscle to make such pronouncements. You simply don't.

Secondly, while Rochas is your most acceptable candidate, he is still an Ibo man to an average northerner, and we know he has been rejected by his own people and is prone to be rejected in any elections so that's a political commitment that is too risky. The only way Rochas can be President us through northern votes and believe me when I say the it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for an easterner to secure northern votes for the Presidency. You keep stating that 1966 is unforgettable so this shouldn't be too hard for you to understand.

You still have the freedom to believe whatever else you'd like nonetheless.
Is it the same okorocha that has streets named after him in the north? Or the same one with complete access to any emir palace in the north.?
Is it the same okorocha that is in most northern inner cycles? Why do you think many of his people don't trust him?.
You are pulling facts from thin air or from your own personal anti-igbo biasis which is irrelevant as far as i am concerned. It is not grounded in reality.
The north is making concessions to the east in real life. Your leaders are trooping to the east in anticipation of a political shift. Okorocha is currently the most influential southern APC leader.
If the north does not vote him, then who will they vote for in the south? Jagaban? cheesy

This attitude underlines one of the fundamental reasons why it is nearly impossible for Nigerians, particularly northerners, to elect an ibo man as President.

It comes next in ranking to your renowned inherent tendency to secede. The highest position that the North will support an Ibo man to reach in Nigeria is the VP a.k.a mere commissioner position and that is only so they can be used as a stepping stone to the Presidency.
But the north has said far more than that and they have always won elections. The likes of ciroma, sanusi, and the likes have always been arrogantly pro-north and they are still power brokers
And btw, you don't speak for the north even if you hail from there. Okorocha will win the presidency today if he contests against any individual in the south.
Infact there are very few northern candidates who can win him.

Since 1999, Yorubas were able to form alliance successfully with the North to have the presidency for eight years. Where were the "reliable Igbos"?

It was the Yoruba votes that helped GEJ to win in 2011. Take out Yoruba votes from his figure then, and PMB would have been president.

In 2015, Yorubas once again proved to be the tribe with the trump card by successfully aligning with the North to make PMB president whereas Igbo votes didn't matter at all grin grin

So, from historical record, it's the Igbos that cannot be relied upon cheesy cheesy cheesy

That is a lie.
OBJ was not a yoruba consensus candidate, and he knew it. Your leaders didn't support him and he dealt with them all including tinubu.
OBJ your new-found son relied on the east and the north to win.
His government was even dominated by igbos and the north.

No one has become civilian President any other way so it cannot be different for Igbos and Igbos are not the only ones who have not been President. Are they more important that the Edos or Urhobo or Efik.Does the Balance argument not apply to Hausa people too?So far we have never elected a Hausa man as President. What about Tivs and Idoma and Igala .Whatever case the Igbos want to make let them put it in the court of elections
Yes, we are more important to the economy of this country than virtually any other single ethnic group.

Well, I don't have a problem with an Igbo becoming president just that it is highly doubtful with the way you guys show unnecessary hatred towards the Hausa and Yoruba man.

One minute you want the presidency, the next one you want Biafra.

You have to be stable. You can't blackmail Nigeria to give you the presidency. It can't work that way.
Yes, we deride him for our own reasons but he would win the presidency with our votes.
There is no blackmailing being done here. Okorocha will defeat any yoruba man in any national election.

Truth hurts.
Orji Uzor kalu is currently hobnobbing with buhari.
Okorocha is closer to the north than 10 jagabans combined.
By the time, buhari finishes his tenure and the coast becomes clear, an igbo president will emerge either by hook or crook supported by the SE/SS and the north.
Okorocha has the greatest chance of becoming president than any yoruba man alive.
That is the bitter truth. wink

By 2023, it will be 24 years since return to democracy. And the South will have ruled for 13.5 years (OBJ's 8 and Jona's 5.5), while North will have done 10.5yrs (Yar'Adua's 2.5 and PMB's eight).

The fair thing then is to return presidency to the South and by then it should be the Yoruba's turn since the Igbos will prefer a Biafra and they'd be working to actualize it. grin

Supporting Atiku in 2019 will most likely keep the presidency in the North for 12 straight years.

We dey craze?
Yorubas can never become president for any forseeable future.
Is it the north that is currently decimating jagaban or the rest of the south that distrusts you that will vote for you.
You better be realistic and vote for an igbo president. And given the way, some igbos are moving enmass to the APC and taking over the southern vacuum tinubu has inevitably left, that may be the only option available for the SW.
Biafra is not your concern.

She is the closest person to hilary rodham clinton in Nigeria. A lot of controversies but still trusted
