Every single japanese and US investment in china has its chinese equivalent or alternative.
The chinese govt made it a neccesity as a matter of economic survival.

Chai! You are shameless!!! You don shift goal post to SW depending on FDI. Hello?? Even U.S depends on FDI!! They go all over seeking investors in the U.S economy -- Asians are some of the highest investors in the U.S economy. FACT! That Foreigners find you attractive enough to invest in you speaks volumes about you as country/region. The SE indigenous investments are practically worthless in comparison to FDI. FACT>
FDI is a bonus, you idiott.
Most major economies like the US, CHINA, JAPAN are driven by indigenous investments.
Infact, countries like china makes it as a matter of policy to indigenise foreign investments as much as possible.
Foreign investments are fickle.
A little instability and they will disappear.
The strength of the indigenous industries determine the strength of an economy.

To the South East haters, when was the last time your entire region attracted a big enough investment that can potentially generate up to 10,000 jobs? Some of your leaders are even whinning that Dangote has refused to invest in your region, can one blame him? ? Even your 'billionaires' would rather invest in the SW cheesy Food for thought. grin
The same foreign investment that has turned the SW to a beggar region.
Which part of the world has eradicated poverty and underdevelopment with foreign investments?
You don't know what you are talking about.
Politics › Re: Southwest Nigeria-third Largest Economy In Africa(ideas For More Prosperity) by CSTR2: 7:25am On Jun 23, 2015
The SW is heavily dependent on foreign investments due to the low entrepreneural drive of the locals.
No foreign investment or any future transfer of foreign investments from there means very few jobs.
No wonder the rest of the SW states except lagos and ogun to an extent are like almajiris states due to low economic activities as a result of low foreign investments.
The SE on the other hand is driven majorly by the indigenous investments.
A more palatable ecomomic situation in the long run.

Akwaibom is far developed than any part of your SW shitthole.
We can see what they use their allocations for unlike those dead-beats states in the SW.
Don't insult akwaibom again.
The SW has more potential yet it has been leaching on other regions for decades.
It has also greater poverty than any other southern region.
Your potential means diddly squat as you guys don't have the entrepreneural drive to harness it.
Btw, i don't care about the FG. Atleast they are not owing salaries.

I seriously doubt that.
There is no SW state that is as sane and well-planned as enugu.

Oshogbo Toad, big economy does not translate to high standard of living.
Nigeria economy is bigger than those of UAE, Qatar, Seychelles, Mauritius and Kuwait etc but how are the citizens faring.

The number of beggars in Ibadan alone exceed the number of beggars in the entire Eastern Region combine.
Even the so-called big economy is powered by the FG built lagos port which is ran by Nigerians from other part of the country.
We all know the SW as a region is not that entrepreneural to drive such an economy.
The likes of osun, ekiti, oyo , ondo is a testament to the naturally laid back nature of the SW as a people.

You guys seem to hate every other tribe. This is pathetic. You are the ones that should learn how to coexist with other people. One sure thing is you continue to promote hatred towards yourself by your attitude on a daily basis. Can't you see the result is that you have completely lost leadership relevance in Nigeria. Shame.
They will only be concerned about political relevance if it is tantamount to regional devt.
Alas in Nigeria, the reverse is the case.
The more politically relevant a region, the shittier its level of human devt due to inevitable laziness and parasitism.
So i think the igbos would rather be as politically irrelevant as possible as long as they continue to lead the rest of the country in human devt.

The same north that crippled their region and this country for decades.
It is only in subsaharan africa where the backward sets constitute as ruling class for the rest and some people thinks it dosen't matter.
How can a region with terrible HDI indices constitute the ruling class for any sensible country?

Politics › Re: Prevalent Moral Depravity And Bigotry In Nigeria (nairaland?) by CSTR2: 4:38pm On Jun 20, 2015
omenka:
Good afternoon.

I write this with a very heavy heart, worried sick about the orientation of the average Nigerian youth and their knack for turning logic right on its head at every turn.

I stumbled on a thread, www.nairaland.com/2392653/buhari-declares-war-south-south-militants, a few moments ago which carried news about an ongoing military campaign against militants (terrorists) in some creeks in Cross Rivers state and was shocked to my marrows the kind of comments people who are supposedly Nigerians were making.

First, the publisher of the article poses a security threat to this country. What is the use of the inclusion of "South South" in the title of the article?? We all know the kind of divisive rhetoric flying around these days and making "war-on-South-South" and stand together as done by the publisher would certainly stir up emotions from a particular people. Is the publisher had intended to publish the article in good faith, why didn't he simply put "declare war on militants"?? When Boko Haram is being reported, do we see things like "Nigerian Army bombs North East Boko Haram"??

I never imagined we'd become so bigoted and morally debased in this country that we'd consider it inappropriate for the government to wage war against a group of militants and pirates "following their frequent attacks on vessels, police stations, seafarers including market women" simply because these criminals come from the same region as we do and perhaps share common ethnicity with us.

First of all, have the posters criticising the government's action interacted with the pirates to know they come from the same backgrounds?? Couldn't the pirates be a mix of Nigerian and foreign nationals??

I just don't get it- on what grounds is attacks on market women and police formations justifiablehuh On what bases should reprieve be given such criminal elements by the state??

Some posters on that thread went "he (Mr President) has been dragging his feet on Boko Haram but was so quick to deploy the military to the Zone" and I ask - what planet were these people when Buhari took his FIRST official decision after he was sworn in which was to relocate the military Command and Control Centre to the epicentre of the war on terror to bolster the campaign against those murderers?? Who bears the brunt of the activities of Boko Haram?? Would it not be in the president's/Nigeria's interest politically, economically and otherwise, to see that Boko Haram is completely extinguished?? Wouldn't doing so require a very decisive military approach?? Isn't that the reason he's been trying to rally the troops within the country and those of all our neighbours to commit to this just course?? How is a military campaign against militants and criminals an act of war against the South South?? Are these guys saying South Southerners are all militants and criminalshuh

Someone else went..
And guess what- 16 people had already "liked" the comment the last time I checked. Now tell me, do we have to fold our arms and watch them metamorphose into something as deadly as Boko Haram before action is taken?? Are we oblivious of the fact that government's sloppiness towards Boko Haram during it's infant stage is the reason we have an all out war on our hands today?? How does fighting criminals amount to "discrimination"huh

Then this comment took the idiocy to the summit of Everest! I just can't imagine how one was able to rationalise something like this. It is simply appalling to say the least. Imagine after reading the opening post, this poster still went on to say- "the group is causing the country no harm!!! I bet his opinion would have been a lot different had his mom being one of the said market women or his dad one of the security officers who fell victim to the group's attacks.

How did we get herehuh Where did we go wrong?? Is there any hope our so called youths are ever gonna break free from such jaundiced orientations?? Who are these people promoting this highly inflammable ideologies?? What exactly are their motives??

Are these highly regrettable nuances borne out of an innate hatred for the president or are they spontaneous opinions attributable to the event under scrutiny?? When did we become so obsessed with the notion "a stranger has no right to punish my brother even when he goes against our common laws"?? Do we have any idea who the next victim of these criminals we tend to try to insulate from persecution and prosecution simply because they are our tribesmen would be??

Is there any hope the yawning gap between logic and tomfoolery, as seen amongst us today, is ever gonna be bridged??

The citizens of this country are in dire need of re-orientation.

I weep for Nigeria and pray God have mercy upon us.

Cc: Lalasticlala, Ishilove, Seun.
When you have a current president who said a ''war against bokoharam is a war against the north'' and still got elected even in the face of such horrific statement, then you know the bigotry is total and widespread spreading even to the presidency.
When you have a mad king asking for an ethnic group to be drowned due to their different political orientation, then you know you have a serious situation on your hands.
When you have people supporting the mad king both online and offline, then you realize the situation is irredeemable and it is only a matter of time before it goes bust.
