Been thinking a lot about this, like what if NL had a "NOTIFICATIONS" button, where we can get updates on the status of our posts and comments. Especially when someone quotes you on another thread,it goes to your notifications thus making NL more interactive and fun! What do ya'll think? Let's add more things we'll like to see here and maybe our Oga at The Top might just consider it.

TeaParty: Everywhere in the world….villages, towns, hamlets, cities, people groups are asking for autonomy to enable them take charge of their affairs and develop at their own pace. For instance Bosnia Herzegovina has a population of less than 4million but today they are a country of people governing themselves and making progress in various areas of human endeavor.

To the best of my knowledge all Northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani States claim a population of over 4million each. Yet they are very scared and very unwilling to agree to the restructuring of Nigeria so that each geo-political zone can take care of its affairs and develop at their own pace.

Just mention the word Sovereign National Conference and you will find these Governors, the Emirs, the Sultan, the Arewa Consultative Forum, and the Northern Elders Forum - all of them shivering like dogs with their tails between their legs.

Instead of making it an issue and a strive for power to return to the Northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani in 2015 ….. the Northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani should be asking for the restructuring of Nigeria in a way that enables them to enjoy autonomy and develop at their own pace with one of their own (preferably Buhari or Sule Lamido) as their leader. That way the power they are clamoring for will remain with them forever ….. in their geo-political zone, from their geo-political zone and for their geo-political zone. ...... makes more sense than the entire "New PDP", PDM & APC crisis.

FUTO Pro Chancellor Begs ASUU To End Strike.

Owerri - The Governing Council of the
Federal University of Technology Owerri
(FUTO), has appealed to the Academic
Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to end
their strike.
Dr Emmanuel Enemuo, Pro Chancellor and
Chairman of the council, made the appeal
on Saturday at a news conference in
Owerri.
Enemuo noted that the Federal
Government had demonstrated
commitment to addressing the most
contentious issues in the 2009 agreement.
He explained that government had
approved the payment of earned
allowances and revitalisation of
universities through adequate funding with
the release of N130 billion.
He said further that government also
promised to pay any shortfalls after due
verification by the councils of the various
universities.
Emeno said that the funds already released
were sourced from different government
agencies such as the Central bank, the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
(NNPC) and the National Communications
Commission (NCC).
He stated that the government had
promised to make provision for further
intervention in the 2014 appropriation bill
and urged ASUU to reciprocate the gesture
by going back to classes.
The pro-chancellor disclosed that the
governing council of FUTO had decided to
pay earned allowances to its deserving
staff.
He said a management committee had
been constituted to determine the actual
earned allowances to be paid to individual
staff of the university.
“The council, in consideration of the efforts
and commitment of the Federal
Government, hereby appeal to ASUU to call
off the strike and resume work so that our
children can return to school.”
“ASUU should reciprocate the gesture of
the federal government by ending this
strike and return to the classrooms in the
interest of our children and the university
system,” he said.
