A less stressful, easier but imperfect way that I do it is to just deduct CapEx from the "Net cash generated from operations" in the cash flow statement as amortisation, depreciation and changes in working capital have all been added back or accounted for in this figure...

I think If you are looking for PURE cashflows from operations the stressful one is the deal

Net cash generated from operation includes other items like ""interest paid , interest receive, tax paid, provisions payment, employment benefit, change in derivatives, share of profit from associate and so on""

Please, what is the (Your) formula for FCF ( Free Cash Flow). I think I am confused now?

I asked because from my own calculation on MTN, I got minus 20Billion .

PAT + Depreciation/Amortisation +/- working capital changes

then deduct Capital expenditure from the the number to arrive at ur FCF

Reference Dr. abraham from SMN

you can as well read everything about the FCF on the internet, there are many ways to arrive at the number and go for the one that fit ur other metrics

interesting to read the discussion on MTN, I only checked Mtn report d year it was listed.... wasn't happy the way the company cheated future shareholder with 2kobo nominal value jacking up 407m share to 20,350B share for the benefit of the existing holders embarassed

going through Q3 report. i see the concern about the debt....too much but this shouldn't pose much problem because the company is making good operating profit that can take care of it

The company make a return to the equity capital of 118% as at Q3, d last time I saw this was from Nestle and during good days of CAPL

I have FCF less than 100b from my end against 300 plus reported

based on my bedsheet opinion MTN fp stand at 230

note; price can go above the fp to their target price but for me and my household we cant buy Mtn at cp except more improvement Q4 reported

little or no O2 seen on my bedsheet bro. they can only pay 25k without their operation being affected if they are to pay dividend based on the report...Fp stand N35 on my bedsheet. though improvement seen on this Q2 when compare to Q1 but they need to do more better . based on Q3 it one of d stock that need speculation or general bull to move to destination

I get you now.. but don't you think that earnings could be good enough for loan repayment in tranches and they would still have enough left to reward shareholders?
Q3 eps was fantastic.. Q4 could even be better

Earnings is cool but may be non-cash accounting income and could be easily manipulated but cash can not

In Q3 alone (July to Sept), they had 9.66 kobo eps which is more than half of the 17.57k eps for the total 9 month period (Jan to Sept).

Eps is different from what I call O2 bro, oxygen is the pure cash from operations also diff from d one reported on cash flow stmt o. transcorp O2 at H1 was 20k but 8k at Q3. thatz y i said if the trend continue at the last Q they will find it difficult to reward the shareholder with dividend at year end except they plan to borrow to pay.

Boss, what is your bedsheets saying about transcorp

Marketapprentic:

Thank you very much BOSS. It will still be good if you touchlight on the FP cuz you be Oracle for that side grin

I have N1.77 FP on my bedsheet bro, some improvement seen on d report especially the ROE good sign but in my own opinion if transcorp move above 1.80, it will be base on speculation not cos of this report. moving the price go beyond the 5.8 PE , 0.56 PBV reported.

Transcorp failed to build on the good Q2 O2 means transcorp will struggle to pay dividend at year end if this trend continue at d last Q of d year. Non controlling interest gang will always be winner here

for me I don't see any much surprise in the market for this stock. if there is any it an awaiting opportunity to bail out

Fingers crossed

Additional shares allocations are in the pipeline

Unlike CSCS that has investments in bonds, got about 3 billion coupon from their Investments in bonds last year.

NGX was managed like civil service in the past, I hope this will end with the list of the companies. The surpluses were shared by management, council members and workers.

It was a not for profit organization in the past

NGX will get to N25 and above because of the current euphoria, after that it will crash before it will start growing.

NGX also have about 22b investment securities and other associates as at 2020 financial year

i will like to see cscs data

Check the annual report and their performance in the last 5 years. It was managed like civil service. They have huge liabilities for unfunded severance package and gratuity for their workers.

Consider expected shares that is planned to be allocated to their workers which will cause shareholding dilution.

CSCS is a better managed business

I bought NGX at an average price of N17 on NASD, I will sell 90% of my holdings if it can get to N24

It appears NGX shareholders will be Investing to fund the lifestyle of NGX workers, I hope things will be better in the next 3 to 5 years

my calculation was based on 1.96B outstanding share. haven't factor in the plan share they wanted to allocate for the worker, such dilution will make my fp incorrect. Total liabilities as at 2020 Audit report was around 3,8b including payable and other liabilities, the earning plus dep. was around 2.4b. so liab. can be pay off with their earnings within 2 years.

it N28 stock, if investors look at the growth rather than the current eps and pe

Q3 2021 will likely direct us more.

I was waiting for the release of Ucap third quarter result before I would give my advice based on the performance of the company.

Based on the result, here is my take: if I were you, I will hold till around jan/Feb 2022 before I will sell my ucap shares because the price will likely get to 12/13 naira within that time frame.

Ucap is one of the best performing stock in NSE this year already had over a 100% run.

Caveat: Do your Due Diligence!

Q3 performance superb compare to what they made in the first 6 months of the year.

Eps for Half year 52k
Eps for Q3 99k

I can see now the reason for the surge in price. insider saw d result long time before now embarassed
