"If only this was a paid forum, some of the insults masked as comments and directed as certain analysts here wouldn't be seen"

Anyway, people don't value free things! That's life.

Too bad.

My condolences for any one on dstv package

You just dey troway your money

If you are not satisfied with their service vis-a-vis your financial obligations, just stop subscription with them and switch to something better like I did

I finally summoned the courage to subscribe for TSTV and I can tell you categorically that I am enjoying every bit of it

Since I stopped subscribing dstv na so them don dey use call and text disturb my life

You get to watch very recent movies, lovely music channels, recent local movies documentaries, lovely educative children channels, news and sport channels

Since I subscribe in January I still dey on promo. I never pay shi shi till now

TStv should be more aggressive on advert that's why many people are losing out
My bro, pls can you give some more details about this TStv? I barely watch DStv and end up paying almost 8k monthly. Pls throw more light on TStv's quality of service, sub prices and all. Thanks

I am open to trying anyother skill that can fetch me money while I practice. I've written before but I am still very much a novice, I am using a dell pc.
My brother, feeling under qualified or not good enough is normal. Every body at one point or the other feels the same way.

It's ok. Imposter syndrome is real. I feel the same thing everyday.

So here's candid advice. Keep doing what you're doing. Don't compare yourself with other people. At 30 you're not too old, you're just a few steps away from your destination. Keep working hard.

God will see you through.

In all honesty, some folks dont know how to engage others on issues they have contrary views/opinions.

I have received a lot of insults on this platform, at a time I was contemplating leaving this platform, but have a rethink
Where were they when this thread was on page 700? they were still in secondary schools struggling to get 40% commerce and economics but now we have schooled them on how to calculate EPS, Price Earning Ratio,Book Value etc but now they are paying us back with insults.
Imagine of one the NSEMPAs telling me"samguru you are a pauper,we know people like you sha send your account number
and let me send you 2k for your breakfast" all this just because I recommended caverton PLC".

well @locodemy if you leave, you are very weak and I strongly believe you are a strong person.
So continue doing your good work.

NSEMPA is worst than real market square!
Oga Samguru, I can only imagine. Those same people won't talk about your info/analysis that made them money oh (Guinness - recent example) It's so annoying.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Curry30: 6:53pm On Mar 05, 2022
@Locodemy,

It is unwise to abandon a car because of 1 flat tyre rather it is better to fix that tyre and use the car much more carefully. My point is one person's opinion of you should not define who you are. People have followed your "picks" and made money likewise some have also lost. It's part of the game that's why many of the ogas on this forum clearly state out "DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE".

So quitting this forum 'cos of someone's criticisms (good or bad) is not worth it.

Think this answers your curiosity:

* Similar thing happened last year.
* Think it's more of market correction and investors' response to results based on their expectations.......market will stabilize thereafter......*all things being equal*.
* Some are not dividend hunters, so they sell off as soon as result is out and they already made some gains.......to look elsewhere for greener pastures....
** Some will lock in their profits first, wait for dumping and pick lower for dividends before qualification Date......
** ...and so on and so forth......based on individuals investment objectives/goals.
** One of the reasons I replied someone asking for when to position for dividend stocks that it's likely Mid Feb to March (if not yet seated in the bus).
** If it's economic issue, no be today we dey inside am nah...........though we pray that Russian/Ukrainian issue doesn't escalate beyond control, I think experts are forseeing gain for developing countries instead.
Hmmm! Many variables at play here. Had over 7% of the value of my portfolio wiped off. But I'm a long termer so no shaking! Thanks a lot for the explanations...you too much jor

Is this current red wave as a result of a gloomy forecast for next year's election or general poor sentiment towards the economy? I am honestly dumbfounded as some coys that did really well are also being flogged. This is beyond performance and dividends in my opinion. Any thoughts senior ogas?

Even in a sideways market people still make money depending on your strategy and understanding of when to enter and pull out.

Don't ever trade with an investors mentality. Likewise don't ever invest with a traders mentality!

I won't disclose my current situation in Transcorp because I can always sell Transcorp to increase stakes in Transcorp especially when I don't have available cash.

For example If you sell 5m units of Transcorp at 1.08 and repurchased at 1.00,will you not increase your stake than before.

I have sold Mansard twice and repurchased. Now I have extra 155,000 units gotten from Jijo.currently,I am targeting another entry price.

You want me to tell you I have sold when I have a target of increasing my stakes?

Always utilize every opportunity you see at the right time.Today I am out and tomorrow I am in again.

Mind you Transcorp will touch 95kobo and mind you Transcorp is a stock of #7.45.Jijo will help us to our destination oooo.
You be king of jijo sha.. I hail thee grin grin

Thanks bro.
One thing I've learnt not to do is Panicking in this biz.
I've lost considerable amount /profits cos I bowed to pressure and some baseless analysis.

For instance, see the time FBNH first had crisis and
there was massive offloading @6+ not long ago......
I moved against public opinion here and bought, was even shouting it here as they were mopping it ..........but ended up selling due to one comment here, since then, First bank has not returned to sub N7........it was painful.
So also some other examples that readily comes to mind, whereby some analyses were faulty.........Seplat
When it got to sub 300, Total @ sub 100, and many more.

Like I said, there are genuine analysis and there are faulty ones, may not be faulty to the analysts because he/she is seeing it from his own investment objective's perspective anyway.
Individuals just have to learn to sieve and stick to the strategy that works for him/her.

You see, even if the particular stock followed the analysis and is falling, you won't still see me panicking ......in as much as the fundamentals are still there.
This here is golden. For real I admire your investment mind. Sometimes the guts to follow your own research and instincts no matter how different or opposite it may be from the predominant forum's discussion is a precious gift. Keep up the good job sis...

In my 30s, is it not too late to think of starting a career in networking. As age is always a barrier in getting a job
My brother you're perfectly ok. Don't let those Nigerian job descriptions discourage you. In this field your age or even academic qualification does not matter much but your KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS.

No organization will take a 20+ crappy network engineer over a highly skilled 30+ network engineer!
CareerRe: Please Advice If I Should Go For Cisco Certification by Curry30: 4:42pm On Jun 21, 2021
linearity:
Some people and advise self na wao.....

Una wey dey tell the guy make him no do CCNA or CCNP, say na CCIE be the baba, how him go take reach yonder? Some dey even say CCIE Security as if CCIE na moimoi?

Agreed, CCIE does not have any pre-requisite, but advising the OP to gun for CCIE without testing his the waters with CCNA and CCNP is almost like telling a secondary school graduate that BSc and MSc are almost everywhere now, that he should go for Ph.D. Getting CCIE is good, but as a beginner with no network working experience or other lower Cisco certification, you will be easily overwhelmed and frustrated, you may even end up hating the decision to attempt it, all because you skip a lot of basic foundational steps....don't do it!

Also, Cloud certifications like AWS, Azure, etc are good...but these are all overly networks, you are much more valuable if you also understand the underly networks and the Openstack network orchestration that feeds these overly networks and also to which these overly networks interconnect to in cases of hybrid cloud.

The OP need basic networking, routing, switching, security before he can be successful as a Cloud Engineer...After Azure Fundanmentals certifications, these basic networking principles will help him, when he start going for higher Azure or AWS certification...moreso he will be using Azure, AWS, etc cloud Achitectures to build the same underly networks that Cisco and other vendors will teach him......Also there are now many vendors e.g. Cisco software defined cloud devices that he may have to instantiate in Azure of AWS cloud, without a previous knowledge of working with these vendor devices, all this Azure or AWS knowledge and trainings wouldn't help.

There is a difference between trying to build a career and looking for a quick training to that will quickly start providing bread and butter....if the OP is looking for a career like he stated and for many others who want to build a career in the cloud....If you want to be a Cloud Engineer, do not forsake basic networking from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, etc and if you want to be a Cloud Developer, your knowledge of Software development, coding, python, shell scripting, etc will give you an edge on whatever career path you may want to choose in the cloud.
Thank you for this bro.
