Politics / Re: 492 Families Benefit From Sanwo-Olu's Maiden Housing Scheme by Cutealexio(m): 4:17pm On Feb 01, 2020
Started by Fashola, Tinubu's idea, Sanwolu completed it. How does this matter? Is it not by taxpayer's money?.....So if you become a governor someday you won't complete abandoned project by past administrations because you can't take glory for it?
davodyguy:
Not Sanwoolu's Scheme please.
Project started by Fashola based on Tinubu's template, Ambode abandoned it and Sanwoolu completed the projected already more than 70% done by Fashola/Ambode.

Some people that applied since 2015 are yet to be given allocation till now
Some of the people here applied years ago and not in 2019 that Sanwoolu became governor

It's either you're naturally dumb or you know nothing about international relations.
The Nigerian embassy being in China or any where in the world is still under Nigerian government control, infact Chinese police can't arrest you at the embassy. You should read more and talk less

What's their concern with our website? Don't show your ignorance in public
BRATISLAVA:

Frankly they don't care about Nigerians. They just go to Nigeria to rape their resources in an environment where they are unregulated because of their yellow skin status. Who the president is couldn't bother them. They collect their money and move on.

Roundabouts are outdated which should be replaced with good road marking and traffic lights.... You can hardly see roundabouts in well developed cities around the world

Nigeria politicians are old fashioned. Roundabouts are no longer in vogue. Just imagine how that place will be with pedestrian lane, correct road marking and traffic lights. This is not about tribe because all of them are like this

A barricade was installed to keep the "over-zealous humans" away. This vehicle has been in their custody for years, yet it still looks good.
I believe the body work isn't done in other to keep the classic look. So what's your point exactly? Are they doing a bad job?
NGRsenate:

So?

If you know anything about vintage cars then you’d know that even if the car is going to be displayed for 1 minute, all necessary precautions will be taken to protect it from the elements and over-zealous humans too.

Assuming 50℅ of the amount was released based on what the speaker said, that will still amount for about 500 billion naira. The only project these lawmakers embark on are drilling of few boreholes, repainting of few blocks of classrooms and buying Okadas for their followers which they will even wait till another election is near before they give these things out

May his soul rest in peace. I remember during the election in Imo State, I was the P.O for Obollo ward 1 and I signed up for INEC duty against my families advices. A fight broke up and then INEC officers that promised to protect us corpers during election, they said if there's any problem we should call them and they will be there ASAP. When we called they asked us to find a way to escape.... Even the day we arrived at the local government we had to sleep on the bare floor.... It was that bad. No corper should risk his/her life for this charade. Only corpers die during elections, INEC staff always protect themselves and use corpers as scapegoat

Politics / Re: FG Spent N321.23bn More Than It Budgeted For Subsidy In 2018 - Sahara Reporters by Cutealexio(m): 1:19pm On Oct 29, 2019
The problem is not about removal of fuel subsidy. There's a way subsidy can be removed on fuel and nobody will even protest even if they sell fuel for 350 naira per liter. How? If the government made 24hours electricity possible then business owners will not be bothered about cost of fuel in powering their generators. Another way is the improvement of public transport... How? Government should invest on subways, intercity rails, inter state rails etc This will make a lot of people prefer the use of public transport instead of having to fuel their vehicles everyday because there will be a lot of alternatives. Without these solutions they will keep spending a lot of money on subsidy and the corruption will never end. .... MY VIEW

Nigerians has one of the highest air travel rate in the world. This is one of the ways ministry of aviation can generate revenue for the country. Let foreign airlines land in Abuja and Lagos then the passengers to PH, Kaduna, Delta, Akwa Ibom should transfer to Air Nigeria. In pictures below we can all see how passengers from (1) a flight from New York by KLM to another city in China was transferred to China Air at the first stopover in China
(2) Second one is KLM flight from NY to Liverpool was transferred to British Airways at the first stopover.
These are the ways these so called world powers are developing their economies

Nigeria ordered 12 Tucano jets not 2
BuhariCarryGo:
President Muhammadu Buhari has looked to Russian President, Vladimir Putin, for much needed military support to combat the resurgent Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East.
Citing a report on Kremlin’s RIA news agency, Reuterssaid PMB will sign a Military Technical Cooperation deal with the eastern European state in the Russian town of Sochi before the end of October.
Nigeria’s ambassador in Russia, Stephen Ogbah, said, “We’re sure that with Russian help we’ll manage to crush Boko Haram given its experience combating Islamic State in Syria.”
The Buhari administration had in 2018 paid $496m for the purchase of two Tucano jets from the United States, which it said would be delivered in 2020.
According to Ogbah, Nigeria is interested in buying Russian helicopters, planes, tanks and other military equipment, adding that a draft version of the deal had already been finalised.
He added, “We hope President Buhari can take the talks to their logical end. The agreement will open new possibilities in such areas as the supply of military equipment and training for specialists.”

In summary "Ass kissing"
MetaPhysical:
Gbajabiamila has been in Assembly long enough that his persona alone should have its own command by now, and when he asks for something to be done, it should not take confrontation like this to get done. Politics is game. He just lost his strength when he says he will report them to Buhari. Thats weakness! House of Reps is People's House. He has authority to summon Service Chiefs but it has to be done with diplomacy and tact.

He should not come out and announce he is summoning them, they will disgrace him publicly. Who are you to summon soldier in Africa? Our development is not at that level yet where civilians have power over military like they do in US. It might be on paper in our Constitution but in practice it wont happen.

Next time send delegates ahead to tell them the House is ready to partner and support their honorable duties in the war effort but you don't know how to do it without hearing directly from their own mouth. The full House is therefore inviting them for this honor to get input so their priorities can be scheduled for speedy attainment. Simple!

After getting their nod to honor the invitation. The Speaker can now call media briefing and say "I have the honor to let Nigerians know as we promised you, that this Assembly will partner with government and get work done. I asked and secured agreement from our amiable Defense and Security Chiefs to honor our invitation for a working relationship on security. They have made tremendous sacrifice to our Nation, we acknowledge and are proud of them. We are aware they have challenges and would like to hear from them directly what we can do in our capacity as Legislature to assist in removing those barriers that impede progress. I take this opportunity ro thank our Security Chiefs ahead of this meeting and working relationship to be held soon."

If Speaker did this their head go swell and body go sweet them.

.....even if he call Abacha to rise from grave with such tact sef and he go happen. Abi na lie? grin

Exactly, the economy needs to be diversified
olisaEze:

Right you are! Unfortunately, our export activities are more or less concentrated on crude oil. And even that is fraught with massive fraud against the Nigerian people.
Politics / Re: Nigerian Naira Fast Becoming The Weakest Currency In Africa by Cutealexio(m): 11:19am On Sep 20, 2019
What do you mean when you said there's no economic theory that supports that? DEVALUATION itself is a monetary policy. I agree that in Nigeria's case it wasn't intentional but it can still be used to our advantage.
As far as I'm concerned UK and South Africa are not secondary exporters. You made mention of South Korean do you know 1,000 naira is 3,000 won? What does UAE has to export apart from crude oil?
IamaNigerianGuy:

Your view makes no sense.

The Nigerian naira is collapsing as a result incompetence, useless leadership and and a weak economy not because of a deliberate policies aimed at encouraging exports. There is no economic theory that says the currency must be s.hit just to support export policy. The UK, US, South Africa, China, Russia, South Korea, UAE, Cote D'Ivore amongst others, are exporters.
