sabiguy:
Yes. I'm in my nysc year at the moment but studying hard for GRE. How about you?
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 2:46pm On Oct 26, 2014
Are you applying for fall 2015?

sabiguy:
8 weeks is good if you practice everyday. Mine is february.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 12:53pm On Oct 26, 2014
Good to hear from you bro..im looking towards mid January.i hope 8weeks is ok to digest the magoosh premium

sabiguy:
It varies; depending on your plan. Go to https://gre.magoosh.com/plans and you would find as low as $79 for 6 months with 60 lesson sessions and over 500 practice tests. Also as high as $299 for 6 months lesson with 200 lesson sessions and over 1000 practice tests. I subscribed for the $99 premium tho and I can tell u I'm already getting overdosed on the practice

Thank me later.

All the best!
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 12:11pm On Oct 26, 2014
@sabiguy how much does the magoosh premium cost and how to I go about it?thanks.

sabiguy:
I am yet to write mine, but most of my friends we used to study together (tho they already wrote theirs) confirmed it. Since then I have focused on magoosh. Both of them scored above 160 in both Q and V.

All the best bro

Then you've made a good decision..rushing things when it comes to schooling abroad is something one can regret for life..fall 2015 is realistic.

Teamo2:
On there website, it states December 7th for application deadline but I dn't think that's for international student (even though nothing else was written there). As par the TOEFL, they said international student must write the exam. Will register for the next available date and write it.
Looking forward to Fall 2015 cos I tink dis one done pass.

Cant he tell the VO the GRE was waived and he should get a letter from the school stating GRE was waived..thats my opinion...I asked you to answer because my school waived GRE for me though im gonna write it by DEC i dont pray to have a low score oo but i was just wondering what he can do..What do you think? He wont dare tell the VO he didnt prepare well because there is no excuse for Failure.

Walspring:
Nothing to say that to let the VO understand that he didnt prepare well and the latest version of textbook he order online via amazon got late to him and he used old version text book.. I hope this work out for you

Hope that will work and make sure you dont tell VO you applied to only one school..
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 12:05am On Oct 13, 2014
@Walspring i want you to advice him based on the GRE and what you think he can say when the VO ask about the GRE result

Walspring:
No one can tell but go with it ooo

No need joor..the mail stated that they will accept if you decide to get it evaluate by Wes..My brother there is no need since the school doesn't require evaluation by wes

asadiaboymma:
Helo nairalanders! Please I wrote to the school I want to apply to, I tried finding out if I need to evaluate my transcripts with wes, here is the reply I got
(Thank you for your email.  It is not a requirement that you have your transcript evaluated by WES.  Once your application file is complete and your transcripts have been received a member of our staff will complete a credential evaluation.  However, we will accept an official evaluation from WES if you decide to have one completed.)
buh my fear is that I have HND with CGPA 3.21/4, hope its not a problem. Please some 1 should help.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 6:49pm On Oct 11, 2014
Then with that i think he/she is good to go

slimmy05:
You don't need to overflog the cgpa issue. Your best bet is to evaluate your cgpa via wes. Your 3.42 will get you 3.0.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 6:48pm On Oct 11, 2014
oh i got it wrong..i thought i saw 3.24..May be he should try foreigncredits.com to calculate it i think the difference wont be much compare to Wes.Sorry if i might have misled you with my info i thought i saw 3.24 and never forget i said its just an opinion he should wait for others that know better than i do..Shikena

slimmy05:
I beg to differ. The figures above ain't true. Going by his initial post, he wrote 3.42. If he decide to evaluate his transcript he would get at least a 3.0 or 3.1.

You don't need to have 3.5 to get 3.0. I have a friend with 3.36 and when he evaluated he got 3.1. Its not magic. I will advice you evaluate your transcript via wes.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 6:35pm On Oct 11, 2014
I dont think its up to 3.75.....3.00 on 4.00 scale should be around 3.6 or 3.5 on 5.00 scale..some schools admit cgpa less than 3.00 if you have a good GRE scores but i wont advice you to stick to that because there might be competition..The best thing to do is to search for schools that require less then 3.00 on 4.00 scale..your 3.24 on 5.00 scale should be around 2.95 - 2.85 im not that sure because its gonna take me a long process to help you with the calculation..Thats my opinion.just chill those who know better will help you with other relevant info

OgbeniVan:
That's my fear too. 3.00 on a 4.00 scale translates to 3.75 on a 5.00 scale (abi??) and I'm way off that mark. Should I just stick to the 2.75/2.85 schools or do I stand any chance with the 3.00 schools. Thanks for taking time to reply me.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 6:10pm On Oct 11, 2014
Since you said you have a good gre scores then you are good to go though most schools requires 3.00 on 4.00 scale but there are some schools that requires 2.85 or 2.75 0n 4.00 scale..hope that help

OgbeniVan:
Hi people. This is my first comment on NL *covers face*.
I'm in a fix. Is there any chance of getting an admission with a 3.42 cgpa? I've just written the gre and I exceeded most of my intended schools' minimum requirement. Somebody, please help.

Walspring: Nice work done... Remember that should be your rough score or similar to what your US school conversion will be.... So you are still on the right track then..

Just finished with the conversion and i got 3.28 close to 3.31 i got initially though foreign-credits B+ is 3.30 not 3.5 so i guess im still on the right track with my calculation..Thanks Boss,2 Indomie and 1 egg for you + Aboki fi ata si legbe..lol

Walspring: Thanks to big capital GOD cheesy cheesy cheesy
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by cutelekush01: 3:32pm On Sep 29, 2014
Thanks boss..

Walspring: This is how you will calculate it;

70 - 100 in Nigeria scale = A in US scale

60 - 69 in Nigeria scale = B+ in US scale

50 - 59 in Nigeria scale = B in US scale

45 - 49 in Nigeria scale = C+ in US scale

40 - 44 in Nigeria scale = C in US scale

0 - 39 in Nigeria scale = F in US scale

Use the bolded above to input your score or mark inside the scale (Just type number you score there)

Where you have credits or hours just write the credit unit of your course if its 1 or 2 or 3 and so on

Where you have number of rows, count all the course you wrote from year 1 to year 4 and if total is 70 type 70 inside the rows so that it will help you to add 70 rows for you..

I hope this will help you.. grin grin grin
