What are you on about? Better late than never but we didn't have to lose gallant men and equipment before we acted. There were intelligence reports going back for weeks, yet we ignored them.

We take everything for granted—like everything. The use of drones in the Ukraine-Russian war should have kept our defence planners on their toes, but it didn't. The rampaging attacks across AES states by JNIM terrorists should have had us initiating drills across bases, building intelligence reports from locals and setting the tone for an attack, but we didn't.

See, this matter is long; we have clueless generals around the helm of power. If civilians can spot and scream danger from miles away, how about those who have been trained and embedded in security matters for decades? Why are they these clueless?

I travel from Abuja to Kaduna and Kano with not a single checkpoint despite bandits being around, but in the South East even within villages where you hardly find cars but bicycles and motorcycles you will find Police and military checkpoints extorting and harrassing commuters at every 1 kilometre distance, and people still wonder why there's some level of indifference when these checkpoints get attacked by unknown gunmen in the South East

The attack happen in Niger state and was gallantly repelled with no causality on its troops. Weapons were captured and their commander was arrested.
