Can you just hear yourself undecided
It's over 100% over necessary at this point . Before you pass your judgement we are not 100% sure if the attack helicopters where for the NA, we are just speculating.
People like you would criticize that they are not equipping the army, now that they are equipping them you're complaining. What kind of human being are you undecided
A human being who wants the attrition numbers reduce quickly! It's rare the NAF would be going for American helos, only the NA fits that category right now.

We also know there's been a big bone of contention between the NA and the NAF tussle for superiority over the battle field. My point is, we cannot put the cart before the horse, Let the Army provide it's priority equipments first before diving head first into aspects.

Invest in communication gears, MRAPs,. armoured divisions, special units and other basics.

Hehehehe grin battle field air dominance with super Tucano? We are trouble in this country.

You people here must think other nations joke with issues of security and defense... With what we have currently and our shameful show of weakness before an uncivilized and untrained gang of insurgents, any war between Nigeria and an African nation that knows its salt, will be fierce, short and decisive. Propaganda will not save us when we are faced with an enemy that understands our weaknesses.

Super Tucano Air dominance. Haba. You think you will be fighting with a tribe of unexposed Kenyan safari people who are armed with spare? The tucanos will be shot down by even the oldest cold war era air defense systems.

Nigeria is populous and we have crowd, but how mobile is that crowd how mechanized is our army. Can we move 2 divisions of the army from one place to the other without exposing our soft belly?

The Nigerian armed forces is weak, slow and too heavy to move itself.
Shots fired, na wa oo

Following the successful delivery of this batch of Tucanos, what next for the Nigerian Air Force?

The Air Force were recently giving nearly 1 billion dollars in additional funding, different from the initial funding in 2021 budget.

This additional fund goes specifically to capital projects, no salaries.

What are we to expect?

Alpha Jets need to be replaced

Additional attack helicopters are required

Additional MI-17 helicopters are needed.

Light and medium tactical transport aircrafts also needed.

A minimum squadron of modern 4th Gen fighter jets are also needed.

So what would it be for NAF??
Where una police?? Why nobody dey carry police along? We need this men o.

This isn't a fair analysis if they hadn't made overhead passes he would have been captured, that's by the way Pilot extraction in a hot zone that is densely forested isn't easy at all Putting into cognizance the fragile nature of helicopters even a corn shrub can damage the rotor of a helicopter if care isn't taken, you can't even insert troops in the middle of nowhere just like that as that could be also disastrous. Kudos should be given to both the Pilot and the first responders abeg, no be everything we go dey pick fault, even the US surferred a devastating ambush when a Chinook was brought down with soldiers inside in Afghanistan in similar operation to extract one of the special forces agent in 2005. na too much Hollywood dey make us feel say some of these operations are piece of cake.
If i had the time to debate this Sir, I would pick out a dozen loop holes from your explanations.. We hate small shrouds of criticism especially when they are obviously lapses. Imagine yourself or even a loved one in his shoes.

Placing emphasis on the fly past, it helped no doubts, but Sir, was that enough?. Let's analyse briefly, rescue team was sent and yet all his possible locations were invaded by bandit meaning they had the leisure of time to operate, if he were there he would have been captured, that's too much negligence.

Where was the rescue then?!, They barely slept at night, he said, no extraction team came to the village he passed the night in showed how porous the environment was as it wasn't patrolled enough.

That entire area would have been on a mini lock down.

Brethren, this man did 90% of the job to be safe.. AFN didn't do well, lesson are here to be learnt and that's my submission.
take it or leave it as this is my last on the issue.

when my jet got shot with the explosives and my flight controls were destroyed Wetin Bandits use?

NAF platforms overhead also helped me to deter them a lot by making some of them to pin down while I kept running,
all the decisions worked together to save my life.

Eg, removing my phone from my lap and putting it in my G -suit before pulling the ejection handle (I had to use the compass of the phone and AirNav Pro application to navigate), and making the decision to turn hard 90 degrees immediately the bandits lost sight of me on a sandy cliff where they couldn’t trace my footpath again (the CAS told me they got information that in turn, the bandits kept going straight in the direction I was initially going and they destroyed several villages and camps, killing plenty people, thinking those people harbored me). So much more… The village I eventually entered at night, I told God that the first person I see and call should favour me and that happened, he gave me clothes, pain-relieving drugs, food and water and even malt, and he organized for a bike to carry me to DanSadau

NAF did little, they haven't learnt how to safely locate and extract pilots, imagine using his own phone?! cry

I pity the people in the location he mentioned, the NA won't save them now and the poor Emir... undecided

I would like to digress a little bit,
Have you all noticed that no more security meetings again at the state house ever since IPOB and unknown gunmen in the east calm down? Does it mean that bandits, herdmen killings are not pressing enough to warrant having security meetings? A fighter Jet was brought down in this country not at war and
nothing was said, infact, it's the more you look the less you see

Flight Lieutenant Dairo becomes the first NAF pilot to eject, evade capture and be rescue by NAF SOF/pathfinders.
They said he maneuvered his way to an army base..

"Using the cover of darkness and his phone set for navigation, Flight Lieutenant Dairo was able to elude several bandits’ strongholds and maneuvered his way to a Nigerian Army Unit, where he was finally rescued."

Lucky guy, so without phone he wouldn't have called in his location? Or traced a base.

So many questions in my head, what if's... thank God he's home, but the Nigerian Airforce didn't learn from past incidents.

Will the Military carry out a massive operation this year?

My LGA has been attacked by ISWAP 10times in 5weeks (Ambushes and FOBs) Tho they’ve not attacked the Brigade in the main town. Should we sit down and watch knowing fully well they are picking up the small FOBs around and waiting for the big catch (My HQ Brigade)
What can I say??
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by cutievik: 8:02pm On Jul 17, 2021
Whyem15:
A few weeks ago, I saw a tweet about how the NA is ill using armored tanks and other force multiplying platforms by using them to defend bases/garrisons rather than one being used to take out ISWAP's heavy equipment during offensive to make it easier for infantry to clear up the terrorists and that's the absolute truth.
I believe this is intentional, the military wants the war to drag on for several years so that they can get as much funding as possible.

Majority of NA's armored tanks, IFVs, MRAPs and others destroyed by BH/ISWAP were destroyed when the terrorist attack bases either by burning from inside or throwing a grenade inside while they are unmanned!!!

All these nonsense of "it's terrorists territory few kilometers outside of garrisoned towns" won't be happening if tanks and IFVs as support platforms are used for patrols rather than the suicide guntrucks. Those platforms are designed to withstand RPG hits and that's the best the terrorists have.
Bros, please share this link with us..
