PhonesNigeria Has 67 Million Inactive Phone Lines by cuulgeek(op): 10:22am On Aug 22, 2016
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says inactive phone lines in the Nigeria, have increased from 65,186,763 in May to 67,331,498 in June 2016.

This shows that of the 217,150,404 connected lines in the country, only 149,818,906 numbers were active. This represents a 70% activity rate in the telecoms industry.

Of the lot, GSM operators had 63,934,119 inactives, while CDMA operators had 3,210,489 inactive phone lines and the Fixed Wired/Wireless networks had 182,662 inactive phone lines.

Nigeria’s teledensity, a measure of the percentage of a country’s population with access to telecommunications services as determined by the subscriber base, climbed up to 107.01 per cent in June, compared to 106.32 per cent in May 2016.

It said the teledensity measured the percentage of a country’s population with access to telecommunications services as determined by the subscriber base.

“Nigeria’s teledensity is currently calculated by the NCC on a population of 140 million people.
“The data showed that some subscribers purchased SIM cards, but dumped them after using them for some time,’’ the report said.

PhonesTop Two Lovely And New Features Of Instagram by cuulgeek(op): 6:54pm On Aug 03, 2016
Last month, the whole Internet was buzzing about Nintendo’s Pokemon Go but right now, I am happy to say, that this month has started on a bright note for users of Instagram. First off is the popular news that Instagram has decided to copy Snapchat outrightly, while giving them credit, and it is definitely a step in the right direction if you ask me.

With the live videos on Facebook and the way Snapchat is gaining momentum, it was only right for them to have some competition and who better than Instagram. However, this copycat card pulled by Instagram is going to play in two ways if you ask me. The first part is that Instagram faithfuls are more likely to stay back because they will most likely have more followers on IG. The second part is that as IG has credited Snapchat for the stories feature, its is going to increase the goodwill of both parties and also the popularity of Snapchat.

PhonesBlu R2 Hd Insight by cuulgeek(op): 9:21pm On Jul 31, 2016
BLU R1 HD is a mid-level phone that has a good design and build quality. It ships with Android 6.0 and is not for the camera phone junkies. It takes ads to another level by presenting them in the Lock screen.

DESIGN

This mid-level phone has a metal frame and polycarbonate backing that is easy to handle, especially as there’s a slight curve at the back. The volume rocker and power button are at the right side of the phone. The back cover is removable and opening it will allow you access to the SIM and external storage slots. The battery is however fixed. While the audio jack is at the top of the phone, the charging port is at the bottom of the phone but I would have preferred to have them side-by-side. The good thing about the arrangement however, is that a user can be charging, listening to music, and surfing the Internet while sited and not be jamming hands with the cable.

Science/TechnologyWould You Really Love To Improve Your Dna by cuulgeek(op): 4:33pm On Jul 25, 2016
Have you ever thought about how great or evil it will be if you were to improve your DNA? You already know that DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a self-replicating material present in nearly all living organisms, as the main constituent of chromosomes. It carries genetic information.

DNA has extended application in Archeology , Law, Medicine, History, among other fields and they help in keeping a record of genetic codes, and progression of life on earth dating back centuries, conducting paternity and ancestry tests.

You do know that Identical twins are as a result of a fertilized egg splitting into two, and cloning is the artificial way of giving a twin to a being that’s already in existence. Since Dolly the sheep was cloned in 1996, USA, there has been a sort of problem in Science ethics, where we have been asked to be ethical and not interfere with such things.

CelebritiesTop 15 Record Labels In Nigeria With No Website by cuulgeek(op): 7:32am On Jul 14, 2016
Record labels all over the world do have a website which they use to keep fans of their individual artists informed of all the latest news coming from their labels. Roc Nation, Reach Records, and Sony Music are forces to reckon with and these record labels have some of the best acts signed under their label. However, it really blew my mind to realize that some of the biggest record labels in Nigeria do not have a website. I have therefore compiled 15 of the biggest Record labels in Nigeria with no website. The #1 on this list of the Record Labels in Nigeria with no Website is shocking.

#15 – YAGI

YAGI (Young And Getting It) is the record label floated by Li’l Kesh and though it’s less than a year old, the record label has one of the finest hip-hop acts in Nigeria on its management in Li’l Kesh. You will then understand how embarrassing it is when I discovered that the record label has no website.

#14 – BLACK DIAMOND ENTERTAINMENT

Black Diamond Entertainment, a record label that has Wande Coal both in the management and the main act is also without a website. He came out from the Supreme Mavin Dynasty, and since they do have a regularly updated website, one would easily argue that Black Diamond Entertainment has a website. However, a visit to any search engine would correct such erroneous conclusion. I couldn’t even retrieve a logo for the record label.

#13 – ADIGUN ALAPOMEJI RECORDS

Mr Alapomeji is an elite when it comes to the entertainment. Given the fact that he has been able to blend with the tides of the Nigerian Music Industry, one would expect him to have a website. Having contested in the primaries of the last election, he is meant to understand the power of Internet media. However, 9ice has no official representation of his record label on the Internet. The only mention that is worth noting at all is that he acclaimed himself as the CEO of Alapomeji records on his official twitter account.

#12 – PENTHAUZE MUSIC

Penthauze Music is the record label that houses one of the finest Igbo rappers of all time “Phyno” and it seriously stuns me that they do not have a website. Igbo people are known to understand all that there is to understand about business, and I am certain you all understand where my concern crawls from.

#11 – MMMG (MADE MEN MUSIC GROUP)

MMMG is the record label that housed Emma Nyra and still has solid acts such as Iyanya, and Selebobo. I am fairly certain that you might even be like “Haba! It’s impossible, MMMG has a website”. Will you just calm down and send me the link to their website?

Science/TechnologyThis Is What Happens When Robots Play Soccer by cuulgeek(op): 12:31pm On Jul 07, 2016
You might have been wondering about how it would be like should robots play football, but you need not wonder about that as there is actually a competition for robots called RoboCup where Robot teams play football and get knocked out until there is a one champion.

The RoboCup main event is called the Standard Platform competition.” Every team that wants to enter the competition must use a 23-inch robot known as “Nao”. Nao is developed by Aldebaran Robotics, A French group while the teams will develop software that will make the robots capable of playing football. While this is acceptable by the organizer, it is not by me and I am sure we all would want to see robots of different size, shapes, and colours where their hardware can be regulated.

PhonesGoogle Symptoms Search Can Diagnose Your Condition by cuulgeek(op): 7:13pm On Jun 21, 2016
It is no lie that with the dwindling financials of many countries, getting medical help is getting increasingly unaffordable for lots of people and naturally, they would prefer to perform a self-diagnosis to help decide if they should go to the clinic or just visit the pharmacist at the corner. For others it’s the fact that they will have to wait hours before they can see the physician on duty and this wait also can be very annoying.

It is because of this two reasons that I often times go ahead to google to determine what could be the cause as I am often time guided to the right resource that will then save me a lot of time and money. The one thing I happen to love with the information business is that you can always use the feedback to your advantage and that’s exactly what google has done, after they realised that about 1 percent of queries are symptom related, with the introduction of Symptoms Search.

Phones7 Of The Most Amazing Android Launchers by cuulgeek(op): 6:39pm On Jun 17, 2016
One of the most amazing feature of Android is the fact that one can customise/personalise it to run the way one feels or pleases. It is for this reason that I present seven of the most amazing Android Launchers.

7. GOOGLE NOW LAUNCHER

The killer feature of the Launcher from Google Inc is the good way with which it integrates with google search feature. Google Now cards can be easily reached by swiping to the right of your Home screen. The OK Google of the launcher is a little hyper-active but makes the launcher drag a bit on low-end phones. Google just used the launcher to push their products to more users. I love the fact that when it comes to functionality, it does a pretty good job most especially if you are someone who’s always using Google Search.

6. SMART LAUNCHER

This is a launcher that I love because of the way it presents apps. If you are someone that is very organised, you will most likely fall in love with this home replacement app. It categorises your apps with respect to functionality, an information it derives from Google Play. It portrays a material design and uses little system resources that means you are less likely to get a lag as a result of this launcher.

Science/TechnologyLinkedin Linked In By Microsoft For $26.2 Billion by cuulgeek(op): 6:51am On Jun 14, 2016
It has just been announced that Microsoft is ready to part ways with an hefty amount so that LinkedIn can be linked in by Microsoft for $26.2 billion.

It’s a bit of a shock to me as I have always expected Google to be the one to buy over LinkedIn should the need arise. Now that Microsoft is ready to pay $26.2 billion which represents a figure of $196 for each share of LinkedIn Corp, one might easily suggest that Microsoft is super excited to have probably gotten one over Google.

“The LinkedIn team has grown a fantastic business centred on connecting the world’s professionals,” is a statement that shows how happy Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, is and if you are to look further into another statement. “Together we can accelerate the growth of LinkedIn, as well as Microsoft Office 365 and Dynamics as we seek to empower every person and organisation on the planet.” one would easily understand why.

Hello everyone, i want to buy a fairly used mobile phone and i am stuck between Iphone 5s and Sony xperia Z2. Both are fairly within same price range.
Pls i need your sincere opinions on this.
Thanks as i await your comments.
Xperia z2 is way better than the iPhone 5s and It's the better choice due to the fact that you get better battery, camera, and battery. The only thing 5s has over z2 is the fingerprint sensor. In every other facet. experia z2 wins.
PhonesHtc 10 Review by cuulgeek(op): 12:02pm On Jun 10, 2016
The HTC 10 is a really great device and is definitely the best device from HTC up to date. It comes with the best selfie camera in the market s well as great audio quality. Best of all, it charges really fast.

DISPLAY

The phone has a 5.2 inch display with a QuadHD display that covers 99.9% of the sRGB colour gamut. The colours look vivid and not oversaturated.

Unlike most flasgship phones that have a super AMOLED display, the HTC has a Super LCD 5 and is protected by the Corning® Gorilla® Glass on a Curve Edge Display.

PhonesRe: Do The Processor Of A Phone Has Anything To Do With The Camera Quality? by cuulgeek(m):
chiwex:
No

Your Processor speed determines how long it will take to load or process your application

Your Ram size determines how many applications that can be running without making your phone to hang or closing your application to regain memory. Eg: memory full when u still have enough memory in ur phone or memory card
Chiwex has done justice. I just want to add that phone's have what is called Camera Sensors and the technology of the camera sensor plus compatibility between processor and camera sensor are the things that determine how well your pictures will be.

There is an overwhelming amount of apps out there and trust me, whoever you are, there is an app for you out there but, choosing the best app that suits you would most likely be the problem. I have been in the loop of trying to find the app that works for me by checking out app reviews (half of which are marketing), app lists, and even trial by error but non of this worked for me until I decided that enough was enough, I wanted to be able to choose an app that will easily suit me. Now that I know better, I want to help you choose the best app that suits you.

STEP ONE

The very first thing to obviously do is to head to the official app store of your device so that you can be guaranteed of the apps you want to download

PhonesHow To Keep Your Android Phone From Lagging by cuulgeek(op): 5:03am On Jun 05, 2016
One of the most annoying things you can get from an Android phone is the lag and it’s even more frustrating when you are playing your favourite game and the smartphone is still giving you a lagging attitude. It’s meant to be smart right, well, that’s why I came up with this post to help you understand how to keep your android phone from lagging.

The easy way out is to install apps that promise to ensure your phone is fast and will even ensure that you speed up your games. I am no saying they do work but these apps would not work in all situations. For example I have used 360TS on an Android phone and noticed that the cpu cooler was even making my device hotter. I had to dump it and settle for this simpler method that I will teach you now.

1 DO AWAY WITH JUNK APPS.

The number one culprit is that most smartphone users have tons of junk apps on their phone. Junk apps are basically apps that you do not or rarely use. These apps might have background processes that will always be on and take some space on the RAM. So always have the habit of checking apps that you rarely use and uninstall them.

Browsers, Home replacement packs, and Icon packs usually fall into this category and I’ll advise that you just keep the stock browser, and one other browser. You can also keep a mini browser for some bad network circumstances. For Home replacements and Icon packs, always uninstall the ones not in use.
