Science/TechnologyCheapest Data Plans In Nigeria (first Update) by cuulgeek(op): 10:54pm On Jun 01, 2016
[Updated 01/06/2016]

After writing about the Cheapest data plan hacks in Nigeria. It is only ideal that we go on and check out the regular Data plans in Nigeria that are the cheapest across all major networks. The Data plans I’m considering are 24 hour plans that have a validity period of 30 days and wouldn’t break the bank. Here’s my list of the Cheapest Data plans in Nigeria.

GLO MOBILE

As usual I will be starting with Glo Mobile Nigeria. Their Plans are awesome and I especially love the 5,000 and 8,000 plans most especially because you can share the bundle. Hence you can have like a family of four buying the 8,000 plan and then sharing it with each other.

Just today, 1st June, 2016 glo mobile has decided to double it’s data plan and it’s now much fun. I am sure offices will easily switch to glo as their primary data network across the country while it is now advisable for homes to have wifi hotspots powered by glo mobile.

PhonesUmi Super Review by cuulgeek(op): 3:40pm On May 31, 2016
The Umi Super smartphone is probably the cheapest flagship phone of 2016 at just over $150 and the little fee is deceiving as it has a hefty 4GB ram, 32GB of internal storage and 4000mAh battery juice. I know that is super unbelievable and that’s why UMi and xda developers are going to give one away come June 3, 2016 in the UMi Super contest

DESIGN

The UMi Super phone comes with aircraft grade metal body and the craftsmanship that went into the creation of the beauty is nothing short of Super. The coating and polishing process for each phone took no less than 40 hours (according to UMi) and if it’s even half true that is actually amazing.

The Metal unibody design presents side buttons that are really cool while the curve of the back was carefully designed to give a naturally comfortable grip. The design of the phone allows it to be able to comfortably carry 4000mAh of battery capacity.

While the power and volume buttons are to the right of the phone, there’s a shortcut button that will allow for one to mute the phone if the phone is ringing or alternatively customise it to work with other apps.

Science/TechnologyGroundfridge, The Fridge That Needs No Electricity by cuulgeek(op): 12:39pm On May 29, 2016
The amazing thing about the groundfridge is not just the fridge that needs no electricity but also that it uses common sense to keep things cool. I actually feel so stupid to not have invented it (wink emoji). However, I will accept that the fridge was designed not just by common sense but also by good research work.

It weighs just around the 300 kg mark and is about 7/5 feet in diameter. The fridge was designed to maintain a steady temperature of about 7 to 15º Celcius. even if the temperature is around it is -10 to 35° Celcius.

PhonesLg G Flex 3 Might Be A Curved Smartphone by cuulgeek(op): 2:20pm On May 28, 2016
It seems that the LG G flex 3 will come out sometime this year according to rumours and it is going to be a curved smartphone. It is going to be a follow up to the G flex 2 that was released last year.

It is being reported that it will have a modular design and will work with modular accessories. It is believed that the flex 3 will be somewhere between 5.5 inches and 6.1 inches to be released sometime in September. It is also possible it will have a Snapdragon 820 processor with about 4GB ram space.

PhonesNexus 6p Review by cuulgeek(op): 1:30pm On May 26, 2016
Google, the creator of Android OS, have always wanted to showcase the true power of Android and because of this, they have always reeled out Nexus devices and I am certain that it is why they initially bought Motorola but had to sell it off eventually. The Nexus 6P was created by Huawei and has been commented on by The verge as ‘…the best android phone’, while WIRED said ‘it just works’. I would like us to also go through a step by step quick review of this lovely device.

Science/TechnologyYou Should Change Your Linkedin Password Now by cuulgeek(op): 12:14am On May 24, 2016
I would strongly advise that you should change your LinkedIn password now as hacker have been stealing LinkedIn passwords since 2012 when the company suspected that about 6.5 million passwords had been leaked. I would wonder why they didn't 'realise' until now that the actual figure was about triple their initial guess.

You would all agree with me that LinkedIn is the spot where professionals connect and very sensitive information can be easily retrieved should someone gain access to your account. It is because of such reasons as this that I decided to only use different passwords for each account and If you are one of those folks that use one password for all your accounts, I will strongly advise that you get yourself a password overhaul.

LinkedIn has however added a two-factor authentication system since 2013 that will make accessing your account by someone who is not you more difficult. However, it only works if activated. The two-factor authentication will make an SMS be sent to your phone should you be signing in from a different computer for the first time. The code then sent to your phone will be used to complete the login process.

PhonesLEAGOO Alfa 5 Smartphone Review by cuulgeek(op): 10:09pm On Jan 02, 2016
Just last year did LEAGOO come up with the Alfa 5 with a desire to make affordable much more classy than it has ever been and believe you me, this phone is less than $80 and is worth much more than it's cost.

Design

The LEAGOO Alfa 5 has a plastic body and that is expected since it is a budget phone. However, it is not just thinner but also lighter than your average phone and this is definitely because the LEAGOO brand is a stylish and functional brand.

The right side has the power button while the left side has the volume buttons making single hand operation so enjoyable as you can reach the power button with your thumb and the volume with your middle and ring fingers. The audio jack and the microUSB port is at the upper end of the phone and this is such a minimalist design that I find fascinating.

PhonesZTE Blade S6 Plus Review - Take The Remote by cuulgeek(op): 8:27am On Oct 21, 2015
The ZTE Blade S6 Plus is an iPhone 6 lookalike and has great design and feel. The highlight of the phone is it's slim nature and curved edges that make it look sleek and handy. It also has an IR Blaster that means you can use this phone as a remote control for your TV.

Design

Little is known about the exact material used to craft the phone but it sure does look and feel like plastic. You have to remove the back cover of the phone in other to be able to see the micro sim ports which are at either sides of this phone, and the MicroSD slot is just under the SIM 1 slot. The battery is removable and is not in the place of any of slots as you can easily put your phone on airplane mode and change sim cards without powering the phone off and the same also goes for the memory cards, just unmount the storage device and you are good to remove or swap it for another one.

Technology MarketThe Three Side Of Glo Mobile by cuulgeek(op): 10:35pm On Oct 20, 2015
Glo Mobile is undoubtedly the second biggest telecoms company in Nigeria and has been my preferred network provider since over ten years now. My most exhilarating moment on the network was when the glo mobile overload bonus started and I could get 15 mb for every recharge as well as a double airtime bonus while however, the most embarrassing moment with glo mobile is when I visited the customer care centre in my locality and was asked to buy about NGN 1,500.00 airtime before I could retrieve my line.

The Good

The telecoms company sponsors a number of footballing competitions across the African continent including the Nigerian premier league and the CAF awards. This is very commendable and exemplary as they are in one way or another responsible for the state of football in Nigeria as a result of the funds they pump in making my friends for example ready to watch most matches of the 3SC in Ibadan. I must also admit that I do watch the highlights on satellite TV and do feel tempted to go watch their matches at the stadium, a temptation that I will give in to any time soon.

The second good thing is that they now have a well functional live chat customer service that is accessible on the website that is ages faster that the call centre where when you call, you can as well go and watch a live premier league match and you’ll still be certain that your call has not been attended to by any representative.

pls when you get the phone pls post some screenshots i got some questions to ask. and if i were to use the android mashmallow 6.0 custom rom for example will it have all the functions and features of the original stock os? and must it be rooted to use?
Hi, for you to install a custom ROM you must have root permission. If you've never done this before, I advise that you give someone with some experience as the very act will not only void your warranty but can also make your phone dead.
PhonesLG V10 Is Coming - It Never Sounded This Good by cuulgeek(op): 12:50am On Oct 03, 2015
The LG V10 is set to be released this month (October 2015) and there has been a lot of fuss about this device. This is rightly so as it is a very great phone.

This is not a review but just some little bit of gist to let you know what is coming.

The V10 will be having a 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage and external storage slot that can take in up to 2TB.

The insane thing about this dude is that it has two front facing cameras which are 5MP each and one rear camera at 16MP.

The audio quality of this phone which is best enjoyed by using a wired earpiece is second to none.

I really can't wait to review this gadget but before then, I will want you to at least have some knowledge of it.

Anticipate my review.

PhonesSony Xperia Z3 Review - Love Life In Full HD by cuulgeek(op): 12:10pm On Oct 02, 2015
The Xperia Z3 was crafted to be 'life-proof' as Sony puts it. This is because it is not only water and dust resistant, but also because it can handle the insane life of hustle of any mega city like Lagos in Nigeria, or New York in USA.

Design

With all the buttons at the right side of the phone, it seems built to favour the right handed person but you can easily enjoy it as a left handed person also by simply rotating the phone to use upside down.

The power button is at the base while the volume and camera buttons are placed at the centre side to ensure that these actions are the easiest to enjoy, The SIM port is also at the top side of the phone's right side making every other side smooth and well protected. This model I believe was adopted to ensure that the water proof level of the phone is at its best.

The material used in the Xperia Z series by Sony has stayed the same and is not any different as the Z3 is with an aluminium and glass finish.

The front facing speakers at the upper and lower part of the phone help to better enjoy gaming or video experience especially because at that point they will be as left and right speakers (in landscape mode).

It has a thickness of 7.3mm and weighs just 152g.
